Rant (part 2)

Right I’ve got three people reblogging my initial reaction post who clearly didn’t read my ‘rant’ and an anon harassing me in my ask box who didn’t read it either and who evidently doesn’t get the hint that they’re being ignored, I’ve chosen to make a separate one so I can address all issues brought up in response to my post. But like I said if you had read my post, you would have seen the disclaimer. So please don’t pretend like you did or try and criticise me like you did. When you read it, then, and only then will I accept your comments as a rebuttal to my own. I’m not trying to silence your opinion on it or over shadow it with my own. You wanna express your opinion; you’re entitled to that and I’m very happy to discuss this on tumblr messages, I’m a very open person to friendly debate and acknowledge we’re going to have differences in that.. But I need to politely request you make your own post and do not hijack mine, or send me anonymous abuse, you will be blocked, thank you for understanding.

I’m not trying to be rude, I’m not trying to ‘fall out’ with people, and I’m not trying to cause arguments, I just wanted to express my own opinion and I shouldn’t have to justify why I’m calling Hirez out for a second time, just because you can’t be bothered to read my initial post or Hirez Ajax’s (which I also broke down and explained in my own). That is your problem. Like I said I had no wish to fall out with anyone, hence why the disclaimer was right next to the TL;DR so everyone who read it would see it.

HEL NERFS

I am not biased on Hel, as I said in my initial post, I acknowledged that some of the nerfs were needed and rightly so. But also in my post I discussed the concept that Hel’s kit was transformed to predominately poke and wave clear, and through Hirez reducing the radius on her dark 1, it affects her ability to poke successfully. The reason why it passes through minions is because it’s a wave clearing ability. Through the reduction in radius, yes it’s a small amount, but it still effects her if you take into consideration the radius of other god’s abilities, how shes doesn’t have an ultimate, how her dark 1 averages in damage with other mages such as Poseidon (who actually has an ultimate).

Hel is not a support. Don’t even try that unless you’re in a team with four other people who are willing to work with you on it via Voice chat. Aror does what the fuck he wants, even when it doesn’t make sense, but Aror is a pro for a reason.

Hel is a Mage and not a Support, although it is a viable option, it’s much like playing Aphro support and doesn’t work very well if you actually wish to make an impact in game and help your ADC effectively i.e. not take all the farm for a start. Not to mention Aphro works best when bonded to a melee character like an Assassin. This is why Hades’ category was changed as well and why Hirez need to consider adding another classification to thegame where these types of characters can go.

Not to mention Hel hasn’t got enough CC to do much, her heal is already quite weak seeming as you need people to be running directly in front of you or stand still and most people like to run from side to side when you’re trying to heal them (which I’ll never understand), her 3 is a tick heal, so if you need help immediately you better hope that I land that one while you’re moving around or you’re fucked. If you reduce her movement speed from 25% to 10% that also removes my ability to get you the fuck out of there, my movement speed does not make you immune to slows, and from what I’ve counted myself, lasts for 2-3 seconds, not to mention her inspire has a radius of only 30 whereas Heavenly has one of 55 units:

“ Using this item increases the Movement Speed of allied gods within 55 units by 30% for 5s, makes them immune to Slows, and makes them immune to Basic Attack Movement Penalty.”

Not to mention it costs you mana, in which Hel’s mana pool is already pretty dire so it wouldn’t be that often anyways. And you can’t really compare Nike’s 6% to that because Nike’s MS is for everyone throughout the whole game and costs no mana at all and also provides power buff of up to 8%.

And yes in fact, had you read my original post I made a comment on the win %,

“And no one can throw the winning % at me because Hirez Ajax himself said they were untrustworthy and unreliable.

“Her ranked win % stats can’t even be trusted because her play count was so low. Players very strongly believed that she was weak, but this was not the case. This put us in a pretty interesting situation.“ (4.1 and up)

Yes I’m aware as more people learned to play her better there was a turn in win %, But that is not an excuse to nerf the viability out of her if you’re not willing to do it for other Gods such as Nike. Especially if you reached your ideal goal and a happy medium. It even goes to show that if you keep nerfing her it won’t change her win %, so if that’s the reasoning behind ignoring the community you really need to re-think that.

“ We have seen her play count increase greatly in ranked and casuals all while her win % continues to be at the top of the pack. Now the community perception is finally aligned with the actual stats. This is always one of our top goals. “ “REAL example: Nike is one of the most winning gods in SMITE history, even after many nerfs she is currently still a top god in every measurable way. There are no buffs planned for her soon.”

WHY I AM SO MAD ABOUT THE NERFS

My post is actually more in concern of Hirez ignoring the community, which is what makes these particular nerfs so aggravating. Hirez ignore the community but continue to give themselves pats on the back for pretending to listen and care about community feedback and what we have to say. If you didn’t bother reading my post about Hel, or dont particularly care about her, or you aren’t much of a reader; I would suggest perhaps watching Duke Sloth’s video on the Midnight Dove Awilix skin. It basically discusses a similar aspect of Hirez doing “whatever the fuck they wanna do” under the guise of "listening to the community”

If you would rather have another example of Hirez likes to ignore the community take for instance the Anubis Tier 5? People voted more for what is now Prototype Scylla, not another Anubis skin. What about some of the community asking for an LGBT skin for Pride? Yeah sure it hit Smite in the Summer of Smite event, but how long was that after Pride? Also wow, Hirez listened to the community for once and reward themselves like they had done this great and amazing thing, but why should we applaud fish for swimming? Overwatch was doing it well before Smite, and doing it better might I add.

If you wanna discuss any of this further just message me, I’m more than happy to talk about all of this on DM,I really hope that my stance on all of this is a lot clearer now. It’s not the death of Hel no, but it doesn’t help her case. Sorry it took so long to post this I’ve been super busy.

ACT OMEGA PART 17

THE 04/02/17 UPDATE

Welcome to the... sixth update today? I hope this isn’t getting excessive. It probably is. OH WELL, i dont care. lets just hurry this up and GET ON WITH THIS SINGLE PAGE.

80%, huurrry up. I just realized, these updates are a LONG while apart, so this download probably is meant to represent how LONG they’d have to wait. There’s a flash for the 100th page, so im gonna assume thats what was eating up their time.

PLugging something in. Also, I just wanna mention how perfect Rose’s sassy pose is. John’s explaining more shit with Karkat, and DAD’s watching over appropriately.

Oh. Kanaya looks upset about something (could it be how rose was totally checkin jade out). Dirk looks confused, or just kinda like everybody’s missing something he thinks is obvious. Jade seems content. Jake is looking kinda insecure. Terezi still seems bothered by Vriska’s absense. Roxy and Calliope are smiling next to Dave’s neutral self. and OH. Looks like Hal plugged in the audio, because now we get to see a pesterlog!

Tavros fucking murdered Jake. Irony.

Thank you Dirk, listen to him he knows what’s up. This game is nothing but disaster after disaster, but most disasters come when everybodys being STUPID. so use your brains and open the door before somehow you all die due to a session in your new universe having such a powerful prototype ring that their queen and/or jack manages to get to your session and fuck you all up.

except pretty much all of that is completely wrong and isn't actually happening. I know the tumblr community isn't well known for knowing how to play or how the game works, but come on I know you know better.

Oh boy.

First let me get one thing straight: so far I love Season 4.

I am sorry you don’t see the jokes I am trying to make and just claim nothing of this is happening. But it is what I experienced whilst playing PTS and live version of Patch 4.1. I will proceed to list the pictures and tell you what I was thinking:

Picture 1: Sol, Jing Wei and Chronos are holding a hastened Fatalis. The passive Fatalis effects got removed from their kits, so many people do in fact build hastened Fatalis on these gods (especially because it provides penetration now)Picture 2: Khepri holds Neith hostage with a “stone of binding pistol”. Stone of binding in the early to midgame is really good. I like to get it on Khepri for example. Pulling someone as Khepri with the aura of that items feels like taking them hostage (or at least I feel like this). I think guardians and tanks in general are in a very good spot right now balancewise. I chose Neith and Khepri for this because the faces matched the picture in a funny way. It could have been any Guardian and squishy combination in the game.

Picture 3: Hel falls because she “crashed” into Hirez. Hel isn’t as strong as before. I dont claim she is “dead” like many people claim but I don’t see her as strong as before.

Picture 4: “The Thanatrain”. This is just a silly joke. Try this combination of stuff and you will go fast as fuck and you look funny while doing it because you are essentially flying.

Picture 5: The Hunterclass. Just showing the stuff that got good changes for hunters. You can’t deny that even after the nerfs to the shurikens in 4.2 these items are at the moment pretty much build defining for hunters (maybe the Fatalis is the exception here but I see it picked up often).

Picture 6: The Morrigan. Just a bit of a poke at Hirez Studios’ design philosophy of oversexualising female characters. I think the Morrigan could have a much better design without being nearly naked.

Picture 7: Zhog Kui doing some Yoga. Zhong Kui is the least played god in the game. But this season he seems to be in a kinda good place. I saw him being played a few times. And some of the Hirez team said on twitter and in the smite reddit that they are currently working on him. So I depicted him getting into shape for a glorious comeback.

Picture 8: Terra. She got nerfed again. She kinda is the new Khepri. I do not claim that she is underpowered now. I play her myself quite often because she is tons of fun. But it feels like Hirez only lets her sleep outside with all the nerfs.

Picture 9: Freya holding a pistol. Everyone demands a real Freya nerf. She is VERY strong, bullies the lane like a champ, farms like a harvester and hits like a truck. Her lategame is one of the strongest in the game. I see posts daily mentioning Freya as one of the biggest wishes for nerfs. In Patch 4.1 they took away 20 flat damage from her Ult for the first two stages. That was not the problem. But it seems like Hirez are not willing to nerf her yet.

So this was it. I hope you can understand my reasoning behind these images better now. It saddens me that you seem to be upset with the post I made.

TL/DR: Those pictures are based on my experiences in Patch 4.1 and things I saw in Videos of Smite players like Weak3n, Incon, Duke Sloth, FrostFangs, TydeTyme and Mythymoo. I dont see anything wrong with the stuff I portray in these.
