Transformers: Mosaic #547 - "Small Part Of The Big Game"
Originally posted on September 27th, 2010
Story, Art - Waseem Bashar Script, Letters - Franco Villa
deviantART | Seibertron | TFW2005
wada sez: In response to a reader on deviantART remarking on the idea of basketball on Nebulos, Villa said: “Actually, they could be on Earth... where Hosehead and Lug may have moved in a potential future [...] It depends on the continuity you're following. In the Marvel comics, the origins of some Headmasters were never shown, and it is not 100% clear if they have a Nebulan partner or not. Or at least that's what I remember; maybe it was clear or implicit... You can also suppose this story is in cartoon continuity (after the Nebulans learned to change their body-look to blend in with humans.” Per a comment from Villa on Seibertron, the inspiration for this strip was the Sunbow episode “Only Human”. Original colors and Italian translation below.

Fans hobby MB-14A - Flame Breaker (G1 Hosehead)
My favorite of the 3 Jr. designs from Fans Hobby. Both colorways are fantastic. I wish I had been able to get the con exclusive Arson variant as well for my Wreckers shelf.

So, i decided to draw a G1 Headmaster this time, and i chose Hosehead because, well, i like his design tbh. I really like drawing obscure and lesser-known bots such as this one, and i'm grateful for the opportunity to use my skills to give them a little more love! So i hope you enjoy this drawing everyone!

Who is Quick-switches mother?
Dear Maternal Motivator,
In one universe, Lord Zarak and Galvatron created an actual army of the one-robot army Sixshot, and used them to retake Cybertron after its rebirth. The Junior Headmaster team of Hosehead, Siren, and Nightbeat were able to infiltrate Scorponok's lair and retrieve a clone body for study.
Optimus Prime then decided to give the shell a noble personality component to counteract that of Sixshot's. He hoped his dear friend Jessica Morgan would volunteer, and she did immediately, sharing her mental engrams with the Sixshot shell using an apparatus similar to the one that created "Autobot Spike" long ago.
And thus, Quickswitch was born! Much like his mother, Dr. Morgan, he strove valiantly to repair the damage wrought by his father.

TFA Sidearm - Live a Little
(Short story below the read me/keep reading.)
"You can live a little, you know. Like you used to."
That's what she said.
Sideswipe rolled his eyes as he watched Strongarm walk along the edge of the rooftop of the building from where he sat. It was just the two of them, thanking Primus for Cheetor taking the new students (Nightbeat, Siren and Hosehead) out on their last night patrol. Last thing he wants is distractions from three obnoxious teens and a officer that acts like a teen.
The two Autobots were out in one of Iacon's most beautiful twilight nights, where the stars shined at their brightest and the faintest peak of magenta could be seen. It was like this night came as a tangible whisper to the millions of lights in the sky.
It reminded Sideswipe of the times in his younger days, where he would try and pull the greatest stunt ever on special nights like this.
"Care to join me?"
He looked up to see Strongarm staring at him with a simple, yet inviting smile.
He just sighs. "Strongarm, I…I know things have been rocky since your return, and I don't think I'll have enough to say for-"
"Sideswipe, I know things have changed." She looked at him, not keeping her attention on where she's going anymore. "I changed, you changed. But is that really stopping us? We need to look forward to-"
Her foot didn't register its calculation when it came down slightly off-kilter on the edge and she felt her weight shift more to the right where, below her, a hard, metal pavement awaited.
But before anything could happen, a firm but gentle arm wrapped itself around her, a hand pressed firmly on her waist as she was pilled towards the mech that saved her.
Sideswipe felt his body go into overdrive. 30,000 stellar cycles on the force will do that. As soon as he saw Strongarm's body falter in one way, his instincts reacted and he pulled her away from the roof's edge, wrapping his arm protectively around her and brought her closer to his frame.
The two locked optics on each other for a long time, neither one making a move. Then Strongarm gave a small grin, one Sideswipe missed to the pits and back.
"Want to dance?"
He blinked. Dance? Is she fragging with me?! She could have died and yet here she was, acting like it never happened and going about it like normal.
Sideswipe looked at her, deadpanned. "You can't be serious."
She grinned more. "And what if I'm not?"
This femme, I swear… While he wouldn't say it, he missed how the two of them would be out at night, her chasing him in the darkest hours, just enjoying the sounds of their roaring engines.
He just pulled her closer, their bright optics illuminating their faces as he spoke sternly: "Let's see if you can keep up."
She smiles. "I plan to~"
(God, this felt like forever! I wanted to do a TFA Sidearm piece for a while. And I think TFA Strongarm might get a future ref sheet from me [and she might get a different look, not sure yet]. And this maybe just be an excuse to draw TFA Sideswipe as well, cause….well, Sideswipe is my favorite. The background was haphazardly put together.
Also, TFA Strongarm is a bit taller than TFA Sideswipe, thanks to some friends of mine on Discord for planting that idea in my head.
And the dialogue is something that I wanted to add. It may or may not be related to a fic I'm planning on making. We'll see.)

Transformers: Mosaic #400 - "Human Component: Shuta"
Originally posted on July 16th, 2009
Story, Art - Iván Mas Thanks to - Carlos Oliveros
deviantART | Seibertron | TFW2005 | BotTalk
wada sez: Shūta Gō has been aged up here, much as Mas did for Minerva prior. The death of his father, Professor Gō, was one of the inciting plot points of the Masterforce cartoon, occurring in its second episode, “Terror! The Decepticons’ Manhunt”. See below for Mas’ usual commentary.
Well... as you will see, especially those of you who know the Masterforce series, I have given a very different approach to the character, a bit like with Minerva.
Since this series has been "dead" since the eighties and in my intention to renew the thing, I have opted for a more adult Shuta, maybe some of you do not agree with this, well, it's a matter of taste.
For the type of story or character that I was reinventing, a more adult Shuta would fit better.
From my point of view, and taking advantage that his Transformer is a police car, I had imagined him as the typical policeman disenchanted with life, grumpy but with a great sense of honor over law and order.... and that as a result of the death of his father, the Autobots offered him the possibility of being part of a department or special body.
So, I've imagined him as a character type "Cyclops" from the X-men. A basically-charismatic leader (of the Headmasters Jr.) ... because .... they may not be strictly be Juniors in terms of age, but rather in terms of robotic age, so to speak.
But as I have always said .... I don't care about the vision of this guy in the 80's, I give my version of the subject .... starting from what was already done.
In the mosaic, like all these, it is simply a way of presentation... I like the first panel very much, for its simplicity, at the beginning in the background there was a city, a street or a bridge... but I thought that the white background was more intimate and more personal, a bit like the scene of Spider-man 2 in which Parker talks to his uncle in a kind of reverie, in the sky or something like that, to create that same feeling, apart from the white background that already creates an atmosphere of purity I added an effect of light in front of the car, as if it were sitting in a car in front of a divine being, or as if the person who is sitting looked in front and got illumination.
The second panel is nothing more than a wider shot precisely to present what I am proposing... a more adult Shuta, that for sure... will not please more than one, but I insist, to stay with an idea of 20 years ago, is not always good or advisable.
And then Hawk intervenes, if we look at the screen we can intuit him in his robot mode.... and as you can see, I have inserted the typical scanner or radars or radios that have the American police cars (first to explain or to give to understand that it is in a police car, and second, to begin to insert mechanical elements that will have more relevance or importance, from now on and once presented the majority of human characters, they’ll become more relevant until we get to see a Headmaster Jr. directly with the armor.
And now this.... I hope that next mosaics you can like more, and I'm sorry if you didn't like my idea of the character.

Meet Hosehead
Full Name: Hosehead of Kalis
Date of Kindling: Mon: 4/ Del: 19/Stellar Cycle: 1480AH
Favourite Colour: Red
Hobbies/Likes: City Building Games, Peacefully hanging out with friends.
Dislikes/Fears: Arguments, Animal Cruelty, Arson
-Since returning home from the Academy, Hosehead convinced his parents to adopt the stray mechanimal he dubbed Lionizer, and has since since been caring for him at home. He even helped Hosehead fight a pyromaniac predacon that attempted to attack the Kalis Police Station.
-Hosehead has always admired Pax Galaxus, even if the two giant cannons are a tad much for a fire engine in his opinion.
-Hosehead’s awareness of his mother’s previous work before becoming a fire fighter has been point of curiosity amongst other students, especially as it potentially tie with the parents of some of his fellow students. Another mystery for Muzzle, we guess.
-Hosehead maintains a steady relationship with Tailgate, with frequent dates between the two.

ok this counts as reference right? here is a list of the crew who were on board when they hopped universes, the TF wiki is fantastic but it doesn't actually have this list

G1 female Autobots as redecos of existing toys
Elita One — Blurr (1986) [genuinely this exactly, her head antenna can even poke out of the right spot! Arcee can also be a Blurr redeco because her altmode is near-identical]
Tumblr media
Chromia — First Aid (1986) [the Ratchet/Ironhide toy was too hideous, they didn't even have heads]
Tumblr media
Lancer — Beachcomber (1985) [also, the cage could become a lance in cartoon/comic. Not vouching for the colors though]
Tumblr media
Firestar — Hot Spot (1986) [Hot Spot and Hosehead were the only firetrucks where the latter and ladder lump could be removed, as they're on the back and don't affect anything]
Tumblr media
Moonracer — Bumper (1984) [Kind if looks like a chibi of an Earth altmode she could have. Though she looks more like the chibi mazda than the real mazda)
Tumblr media
Greenlight — Ectotron (2019) [yes it isn't a G1 toy, but Greenlight was just glimpsed in the background and wasn't even named until 2010, so maybe...]
Tumblr media
Okay, so makes sense!
Also Greenlight wasn't named until 2010?? Damn
