hi m !!!! i hope you’re having an amazing day :0 now that i’ve read part 5 like four times and have Mostly processed it here are some of my thoughts (sorry for the long ask i just need to let it out)

FIRST OF ALL the way sunwoo misses mc :( i hope they can get close again because he seems to support mc in everything (and he’s a jaemin x mc endgame supporter <3)!!! the eric & mc behind the writing made me feel so so so much love for the mc, she was so happy back then and sunwoo seems to want her to be happy again. i think he recognizes how mc likes jaemin because he got to see how in love with eric she used to be (if that makes sense) like he can see that jaem makes mc happy in the way eric used to and i trust his judgement

i used to have mixed feelings for eunbin but part 5 really convinced me to not like her😭😭 the Empath in me wants to feel bad because she’s still in love with her ex (that’s clearly in love with someone else 😈) but it was wrong of her to invite the new girl that he’s fucking to her own party and then ask for permission to get back with him LMAOOO i guess it was kind of polite of her to ask but at the same time jaemin is his own person and it’s weird for her to be like “i’m still in love with him. you look at him like you’re in love with him but i need your blessing <3 also i wanna be friends with you” to the mc and then pretend like jaemin’s friends’ opinions of her don’t matter either. it seems like she just put mc in an awkward position and put on this whole nice girl that wants to be friends act and then tried to prey on her vulnerability :( + if eunbin needed to ask mc for permission w/o asking jaemin first then she’s probably insecure about how he feels about her !!!

idk how i feel about miwoo and jeno getting back together, but i really love both of them and i just want what’s best for the two of them :( i love how both of them never hesitate to defend the people they care about <3

i wish jaemin was more aware of what’s going on FJSJJFF i think if he knew how hurtful his time spent with eunbin was to mc and actually took the hints from both of them then he would act differently. i’m not super upset at how he acted in part 5 but the circumstances weren’t really in his favor :/ he’s always so sweet and reassuring to the mc and i hope he finally reciprocates his feelings soon !!! he said he has no intentions of making moves with eunbin and i don’t think he could fall in love with her again considering how his friends feel about her and everything she put him through + i feel like donghyuck n yangyang would set eunbin’s jeep on fire if jaemin left mc for her 😎

sunwoo really does miss the mc, they had a good friendship!! before mc met haru and miwoo, sunwoo was all she had (apart from eric) and they were very close, so sunwoo was really low when mc had completely stopped all contact/conversations

eunbin, realistically, wants to make friends but she's going the wrong way about it. she's making some rash moves and silly decisions but her intentions are good... she just doesn't understand the shit that she's caused/causing, which is going to turn out bad... possibly

writing the breakup between jeno and miwoo lowkey hurt me more than jaemin and mcs FjSJDEF i really love them together :( pushing away their troubles, they actually were a perfect match UGH i can't

jaemin is always very tricky to read, even if mc does know him well. he always has these moments where mc simply cannot understand how he's feeling or what he's thinking.. they've been fwb for such a long time and he's STILL a mystery to her... for now!

Daisuke & Suzue’s Relationship Is Still Unclear

Okay I just finished watching Episode 4 and ta-da!~ Daisuke discloses that Suzue is a relative.

At first I thought it was the most anti-climatic reveal - ever (actually, it still is!). He said it so monotonously as well. Was pretty funny. 

Anyways, I gotta be really honest here but something really really does not sit well with me. What I mean by that is Suzue’s very over enthusiastic lovey dovey (almost obsessive) behaviour towards Daisuke. 

I am wondering whether this anime is going down the cousin x cousin pathway? Like they do in Black Butler re; Ciel x Elizabeth or something. Because it’s common in anime shows for this whole cousin x cousin thing going on I don’t know. Regardless, i have my theories. So let’s hear it.

The reason why I decided not to drop this whole Daisuke x Suzue relationship kinda thing even after Daisuke disclosed Suzue is a relative are for the following reasons;

1. The OP. OMFG THE OP!

JUST LOOK AT THEM OMG! SERIOUSLY?! It is so fucking romantic and don’t go making weirdass excuses that this is considered normal in an incestuous relationship. Because it is not. Gross.

2. Like i mentioned earlier, Suzue is way too over the top, almost obsessive with Daisuke. In the novel, she is Daisuke’s father’s secretary, so she does tend to the every day needs of the Kambe family as well. To what extent I don’t know but it seems the anime extrapolated this a bit more. Either way, the anime is following the novel quite a bit here.

3. Suzue being the relative completely disregards the sibling theory (which a lot of us non-sibling theory believers have used canonical evidence to dismiss). It also explains why she may look slightly similar to Daisuke. Who knows? But she may also not be blood related as well (see below).

4. Daisuke did not specify what sort of relative she is to him. A cousin? Distant cousin? Cousin’s cousin? How far away? Did one of her parents remarry into the Kambe family and therefore she is considered a Kambe? What about adopted family member? In the novel, Daisuke specifically stated to Suzue that she is “like family” and “consider [you] as family.” Also in the novel, when Suzue plays the decoy role, she would tell people (the men she tries to woo in order to catch them) that she and Daisuke are related/family.

5. I know the anime is loosely based on the novel, but judging from what I have seen so far and comparing novel vs. anime, there are quite a lot of elements they preserved. So I am not surprised that they are following the novel quite closely, with the exception of Haru as an anime only character (and some other bits and bobs).

6. I also noticed something as well in the episode

Daisuke never revealed to the audience why he left the mansion in the first place but it definitely has something to do with Suzue. There is still a lot of mystery that surrounds her and he seems quite rattled when he saw those (creepy) messages from Suzue cropping up on billboard signs and cash registers (lmao!). Even upon his return, he didn’t really acknowledge her, whereas the reverse reaction could be seen with Suzue.

In the novel, Suzue is extremely fond of Daisuke. Conversely, Daisuke is a bit standoffish with Suzue and i am getting very similar vibes regarding their relationship in the anime as well. So again, if they follow the novel, I don’t know whether Daisuke said “Suzue is a relative” because he just considers her as family or whether she is truly blood related. And again, I feel as if the show is still deliberately leaving their true relationship hidden. 

7. They are being vague again. First it’s her as ‘Kambe’ without specifying the relationship, then it’s ‘his grandmother’ without mentioning Suzue, now it’s ‘she’s a relative’ without showcasing what type of relative. I.e. Mikasa from Attack on Titan considers herself “as family” to Eren, so there could be that type of dynamic based relationship between Daisuke and Suzue as well. Who knows?

8. Can I revisit the crazy over the top Suzue again please? THIS WOMAN HAS LOST A LOT OF SLEEP OVER THIS MAN WHO DISAPPEARED FOR LIKE LESS THAN A DAY! And she is overly dramatic, lost her cool and just...i don’t know, but THIS WOMAN BEEN SITTING OUTSIDE JUST WAITING FOR HIM TO COME HOME! AND LOOK AT HER FACE! JUST LOOK AT HER BLUSHING FACE WHEN SHE SEES HIM!

And Daisuke is just as standoffish as ever. I don’t know about you but based on the vast anime I’ve watched, Suzue fits a very certain stereotype - that is, when a character likes someone, they act very overly possessive, protective and just wishy washy ...you know what I mean...so regardless of whether she is a relative or not, I am quite certain that Suzue has feelings for Daisuke.

9. The producers specifically stated in the interview that they added depth to Suzue’s character whilst preserving the original novel Suzue. I can definitely see this being done with her character personality. With regards to her relationship status to Daisuke, I honestly think it would be very poor on their part to turn a non-blood related love interest into a blood-related non-love interest. Just saying. I mean, they might have done it, but again, they did not specify anything. Suzue could still not be blood related (as Daisuke did not make it very clear). But if she is, I am curious to know how distant they are from each other. Would it be like so distant that they can still be considered as potential partners? I.e. Uchiha clan in Naruto or Soma family in Fruits Basket. Members from these families are all considered as relatives to one another (either by blood (distant blood) or marriage) and this could very well be similar in this circumstance re; Daisuke and Suzue.

10. Suzue’s role in the house is interesting. Especially attending to Daisuke’s everyday needs. I am wondering whether it is a hierarchal thing (because this can happen in certain families where there are main families and branch families) or whether again, Suzue was just adopted into the family/seen as a family member, but have taken on the role of attending to Daisuke’s needs. I find it very interesting how Suzue switched from calling Daisuke without honourifics in front of Haru, to calling him Daisuke-sama. That just means there is definitely a hierarchal difference and she is there for serve. Whether as a lower member of the Kambe family or secretary turned adopted family member, I am unsure.

Concluding Thoughts

These are all very speculative of course and I don’t like taking things on face value, especially when they hyped up Suzue’s mysteriousness from the very beginning. Something just does not sit right with me with the reveal and I think what really put me off drawing a solid conclusion was Suzue’s infatuation like behaviour towards Daisuke and how Daisuke was STILL vague about Suzue being ‘a relative.’ 

Of course, all this could be redundant and they may just stop it at Daisuke and Suzue are relatives. But I honestly doubt it. I really think there is more to it than meets the eye. There are 7 episodes left and they still have yet to reveal more family issues on Daisuke’s end. I think we will see a lot of this in the coming eppys.

Anyways, until the anime fully confirms the exact nature of Daisuke and Suzue’s relationship - if they are relative, what kind of relative? - then I will keep speculating.

And please feel free to refute any of the stuff I just said as long as you can back it up with some sort of evidence (either from the novel or anime itself). I know the anime is only based loosely on the novel but because I can see the anime drawing quite a lot of stuff from it, I will accept it as some form of canonical evidence. Please be civil and respectful. That’s all I ask.

Actually for me it's pretty weird that the most popular ship in Free! is Makoharu. I mean, they give me like zero romantic vibes, if not Rinharu I would've definitely shipped Sourin. It's the main reason I hated Sousuke when I watched 2nd season for the first time - I saw him as a threat for Rinharu (now I just don't like him that much, but I decided to let Rin has his best friend, lol). Maybe it's just me loving rivals to lovers :)

Well.. for me Free! was never that kind of anime where there are other ships, but honestly after several years of watching anime and lately discovering that people ship Wei Wuxian with Jiang Cheng I kinda lost my faith in people lol And yes, I also truly don’t get those ships, where there are zero romantic vibes, but I got used to seeing this already.

I think I’ve talked about Makoharu only once, I usually don’t do it cause as a ship it’s so illogical to me that I just don’t see the point of wasting time on this lol I feel like it’s gonna be long answer so I’ll split it and after “***” I’ll talk about my bro-rinharu-shipper Sousuke.

I’m not gonna throw a debate if it’s the most popular ship or not, but I just want to say that I don’t think that it's really called shipping Makoto and Haru, since firstly, let’s talk about Makoto as a character (which is the main problem in this whole thing tbh) cause from what I saw the Makoto the MH fandom created has nothing to do with the real Makoto. Like the dude is scared of dogs, ghosts, bees, water and I forgot what else; covers his eyes when he sees anyone even in swim trunks and gets embarrassed easier than a nun (apparently you can’t even unbutton the collar of your freaking jacket!!!!!!!!!!! oh lord!!!!!!); crumbles under everyone in this anime including Hiyori and can’t even talk back. 

And suddenly like half of this fandom thinks that Makoto is a dominant top apparently. We seriously laughed our asses off seeing that, I mean even my mom (who’s a teacher btw). I’m like... I have a sister who’s majored in psychology and I myself in literature (like I seriously promise we ain’t stupid) and we just seriously don’t understand.. In what Tarzan’s ass does he suit this description? Dude can’t even answer properly while being offended. Like maybe they like Makoto’s twin brother? Because real Makoto does not have any dangerous dark side, seriously, this ain’t “8 dogs of the east” lmao.

I appreciate their friendship at times, but I never was a fan of him, because I don’t really like people who treat everyone equally (friends and strangers) and think that some asshole deserves as much love as the closest friend. I just don’t understand this life position and don’t like those “world peace” guys anyway. I mean, that fish died moment in the books was when my brain died honestly. Like I get it, dude is sensitive, but... seriously?

And for me being kind is not really a personality. I mean, hell, sometimes it’s no good to be kind. There is a fine line between being kind and being a mop you know.

And sometimes his behavior is really cringy to me. Like during the funeral and during Haru passing out in the book and during many things that are very serious. I just don’t think he’s the person you can rely on at times. I mean at first I thought he’s a steady shoulder, but somehow in all serious situations he doesn’t do anything useful.

Like I might be in the minority here, but to me when you know very well that you panic in the ocean you don’t go there trying to save somebody, it’s not brave, it’s just plain stupid (like it’s not like the tent was far, it was fucking next to him, all he had to do is wake up a pro) so by the end we had to rescue two instead of one, just because he’s dumb af.

He also panics a lot which I really hate on people. I’m sorry but like panicking ppl are the only worst. It reminds me of one of my life situation when my sister was badly hurt and we needed to keep our heads cool to act quickly and do what was necessary asap. And I’ve seen ppl behave like Makoto in situations like this and man it’s seriously no fun, it’s annoying. Like when you need to help somebody and someone panics beside you it pisses you off. And he does it even in little things like when he yelled Haru in the ear while driving JUST BECAUSE A CAR IN FRONT OF THEM BRAKED I mean omfg I would seriously yell “shut the fuck up, you pussy!”

And it all honestly keeps getting worse and worse like the way he’s written, his behavior just buffles me so much. Makoto in s3 just murdered me tbh. Like he didn’t help with anything, he didn’t bring anything to the plot, you can just erase him, he only sat there anyways. And the way they pulled his “dream” out of his ass was just a second-hand embarrassment tbh. And he’s not even Haru’s emotional support anymore. He’s just... I don’t get it. There were literally scenes where he was third-wheeling or just forced into that looked laughable. 

Which brings me to the second point. From what I saw many of Makoharu fans are mostly Makoto fans, so they just want what’s good for him, and since he has no life goals whatsoever (like after he dropped his “I dream of making children like swimming” thingy like a hot potato and was like “training children.. but look at Rin and Haru” I really lost my last marbles watching him) they apparently don’t care for what Haru’s dream is and that he said openly that he wants a future with Rin.

Like I get that everyone has their tastes, but like what.. two people who are crazy about each other since twelve and blossomed a dream of having a future together and the thought of being with each other got them through and they finally have what they wanted.. this is not a trend anymore? Mutual romantic love is not a trend anymore? Like I even without novelization can see that (and I quote Rin word for word here) that “every time he sees Haru his heart beats so fast he can’t calm down” and quote “Haru sees Rin and he’s shaking, he closes his eyes desperately trying get rid of the image, but the pain in his chest doesn’t go away”.

I am personally very happy that Rinharu are finally together and will be doing what they wanted in their life by each other’s side, cause they’ve been dreaming about it for too long, they’ve been thinking about it for  years. So not wanting them to have that is very weird for me. And the argument that Makoto somehow better than Rin for Haru is so invalid, I always laugh. I guess it depends on what you want for yourself. But honestly like you guys better find someone who make you want to reach for the stars and make you heart skip a bit everytime you see him.

So I as a huge fan of Haru want my boy to fly and now I have all the canon proof for those who were blind that Rin is the only one (been said) who makes him feel that way. So all those anons who kept writing to me how relay with Sosuke, with Rei and what baffled me the most swimming with Ikuya was just as emotional for them can finally shut it (lmao I’m sorry).

Now... Sousuke, my bro, the first Rinharu shipper on the village who helped them to get together is a threat? Okay. Well, I actually like s2, there are some dumb episodes but s2 actually to me showed how rinharu relationships are different from anyone else. There are literally two whole episodes and several scenes of how the bROMANCE prevails over BROmance.

Sousuke and Rin have typical brothers relationship. From their secret handshakes “parent trap” style to the fact that they draw them exactly the same with his real brother. I mean I don’t know if anyone noticed, but in 3x11 they drew Sousuke doing the exact same teasing move with Rin, that his older brother did to him in 3x01, and it’s definitely not a coincidence. Which means he treats him like his little bro, and not just that. I have lots of proof.

You know, I had a friend back at university who had an older brother who she was very close with and she kept telling me about how he kept testing her boyfriends if they’re good enough... I mean Sousuke was doing it with Haru since Rin has told him that he has found his one and only. And it never ever looked like he was possessive of Rin and was like “he’s mine”, it was always like “he’s yours so make sure you make him happy you loser”, he even stalked Haru to see if he still swims alright which is really funny (like okay dad), so by the end of the season when Rin lovingly looks at Haru and says it was all worth it, Sousuke looks very content like he was sure that they’re all good now.

And that moment like in Yakusoku where Rin dropped Sousuke as soon as he saw Haru, I honestly don’t think it’s the kind of jealousy people think it is. It’s like if I asked my sister “do u want to see the new avengers movie” and she’d answer “sorry, I already promised to go with my boyfriend” (not that this would ever happen, but let’s imagine that she found herself her nanase) I would be fucking upset too, but I would kinda get it (if it’s a love of her life I mean). Or like literally imagine you lived with your best friend for years and suddenly she wants to move in with he boo. I mean it happens sometimes. But it’s not the jealousy really, he’s just sad because he knows that he needs to let Rin go and he won’t spend as much time with him as he did before. Sousuke knows how much Rin loves Haru, plus after he saw that Haru is as good as Rin told him, he started to like him himself so he was worried about both of them. 

And I love Sousuke, he’s our godmother. I’d rather have him on the international team than Ikuya but he sadly he doesn’t swim breaststroke or back and we only have one butterfly and one freestyle spot xD

I’m sincerely saying as a person with two siblings that I really don’t see it. It’s just there’s a huge difference between brothers and lovers. And you can’t call Harurin bros. It’s just laughable. Even if you haven’t read anything and just watched the anime.

I mean I think it’s easier to see if you try to imagine Haru in Sousuke’s place in any Sourin scene and see how it would’ve went then. Like do you remember when Sousuke asked for cola and Rin went to get one and there was only one can left so they rock-paper-scissored it and Rin won and drank it?

Now imagine if Haru was there in Sousuke’s place. I can tell you 100% that Rin would’ve just given him the can. And then he would’ve looked at him with that face he makes when he’s content just by watching Haru eat, you know.

I mean it just how I see it. And there are a lot of comparable scenes in s2 that bring me lots of evil joy, but I won’t tell lmao.

But as I said before to me there’s a huge difference between bromances and bromances. So I mostly don’t get most of these ships. I don’t understand anything in this world apparently lol but I only see Rinharu since the first time I’ve watched it, and then I’ve read everything and realized that I’m right, so I’m ok with all this xD

Hypnosis Mic Rhyme Anima - I’ve only just started watching it this month and wow was I blown away. Ah yes rap battles with gay rappers. So far it’s going off to a good start despite the wonky translations at times. I’ve been in the  fandom since February 26th, 2019 so it’s nice that they’ve animated it. I get to see my favorite division STAN MTC and characters move aaaaaa......It’s almost like a magical girl transformation with the mics changing and the speakers appearing sans the outfit changes. I could probably go on and on about one character for days Samatoki ilysm you’re doing great and you look good so far. We all know whom you are gay for.  Though for those currently watching it, I’ll keep my fucking mouth shut about what’s going on in the tracks and manga uwu Fandomwise I occasionally write stuff like drabbles and rp characters y’all can take a guess who I currently rp as haha 2. Beastars - Seriously who doesn’t love Beastars??? It’s like zootopia but darker XD From the get go you get dragged into how herbivores and carnivores interact and the predator and prey relationships between them. Is okay to eat herbivores, what does it mean it be an herbivore/carnivore and etc. All the characters are pretty much loveable and relatable in their own rights. Especially when it comes to Legosi, Haru, Louis and even Juno! God it really was a fun ride. 3. Durarara - This will definitely be one of my most cherished series. I remember writing a fic for it and never finished it haha.... There’s definitely a lot happening plotwise. It’s a story of twisted love. All kinds of ‘love’ can be seen throughout the show. I remember things not really kicking off until the second season. Like omfg Mikado....Of course not all things from the light novels made it over. I will admit that I had the chance to interact and rp with a certain friend in fanfiction.net via their fic through their OCs. I haven’t exactly rped with ppl aside from doing it with siblings (I hope you enjoyed reading this Imp uwu) And probably lead to the creation of various other OCs in fandoms hehe  4. Moriarty the Patriot - I have a feeling this is probably gonna knock out some of the current standings in the future. A series about Holmes adversary? Count me in. The world’s definitely not all sunshine and unicorns here - the rich literally do not give a fuck about the poor. People suck except William and his partners in crimes uwu Honestly, this series is getting to a good start.  5.  Special A - Ah yes shoujo manga c: I remember all the funny things that happened in it. They’re rivals in some rich kids school. Every character is just gorgeous and relatable in this. I live and die for it, every part of the manga in which that relationship is shown progressing is between my favorite parts of the manga and I’ve reread them a hundred times and cried over them way more than necessary - the battle trial one? yes, the end of terms exam? absolutely yes holy shit, the post-license exam fight? god yes fuck me that’s my absolute fav, the rescue arc? shit yes between all the reasons why that arc’s my fave the change in the deku/baku relationship is definitely a worthy of note one

It’s an interesting relationship, a painful one that’s making both of them grow so so so much, a rivalry they both need to better each other and keep each other straight on the path to become two great, all-around heroes - I’m not sure they’ll ever end up having the type of relationship Izuku has with Todoroki or Bakugou with Kirishima, I don’t think it’s possible for them to be friends like that, they’re just too different to properly fit like that and to avoid stepping on each other’s toes every single day of their lives they’d have to change their core personalities too much, but they did end up being able to coexist (Bakugou’s even giving Deku tips!!!) and I do think they’ll be able to cooperate and support each other in the end. If one day they’ll be able to make fun of each other in a friendly manner and egg each other on and be honest with each other without it escalating into a full blown fight I’d truly be happy, that’s probably my main dream for this whole manga. For them to have a healthy rivalry, one in which they can maybe even laugh together. I think it might happen, I’m waiting for it to happen

What a question lmao no, no they never interact with Teru, it’s a crack ship haha I don’t really have a reason to ship it tbh, I just think Teru’s personality would fit nicely with Bo and Kuroo - Teru’s one of my fave characters in Haikyuu and I like shipping my faves around, but he’s interacted with only his teammates and Karasuno so everything else is just crack... I like a whole bunch of Teru ships tbh, bokuroteru is the one I’ve drawn the most for a bit by accident and a bit because they’re the ones with the most entertaining possible dynamics, to me? They’re a bunch of excited silly kids, that’s fun!

I don’t think I’ll ever have Kirishima’s backstory at this point. I’m giving up. I’ll just make up my own version of it. Kirishima’s had a beautiful past with a lot of happiness a great family with loving parents and both older and younger siblings that love him more than they love air, he’s got three pet turtles and a dog and the only reason why he had his hair dyed black was because he went through a really intense goth phase. That’s it, that’s my version, Hori can keep the sadness for himself

I wonder if sosuke is gonna slap some sense into rin and confirm that rin DOES tend to go and leave abruptly when he wants to just like elementary, difference is sosuke got over it pretty quickly while haru.. never did

That's true, but the main reason I bet on Sousuke slapping some sense into both of them is not bc of this thing even. I just really also want to hear something else from him, that he's already basically said in those scenes, but to their faces.

Like remember that before seeing rinharu's relationships and their swimming together need, Sousuke's life position was always "it's better if every man for himself". He never understood the relay thing and since the beginning thought that this whole things like feelings and etc can stay in the way of personal achievements and if you're on your own then no one else can let you down. But he also never was concerned for just one of them. He actually canonically likes both of them and in his way (of a skeptic) was looking out for both. That's why for example in SD he gives Haru the letter, but doesn't say to him that that it was actually adressed to him, until Haru won the tournament and got up by his own will. Only then Sousuke was like "now that you swim okay, I can bring you happy news about your love life". Bc he always thought of this thing rinharu have for each other as a... well, disadvantage to say. And he's not lying when he says that he's on both of their sides. He just up to the end of s2 never realized his miscalculation.

He only after Australia since ep 13-14 started to come around bc he understood that them being together is what makes them at their best and he was like "ah my blessings then". It still doesn't mean that he personally gets it, bc he has his own thing and like not to everyone applies what rinharu have, Sosuke in most cases right I think, but when he realized that for these particular two being together is what make them fly, he's now completely different about it.

It's like I've seen before floating around posts about how they can't swim without each other. Can't swim without each other and their don't wanna swim without each other are completely different things. The beauty of rinharu case is that swimming is their dream as it is, they didn't start swimming because of each other, they just love it, they were already brilliant at it before they met each other. It's just the fact that after they found each other and their hearts intertwined, with the way they inspire each other they were able to reach the heights of beyond their best.

I think the easiest way of explaing this thing is probably through our fav free! sex analogy. It's like you know, masturbation feels good, but once you know what it's like to have sex with someone you really want and love, going back to doing it on your own is just already not fun. Rin loved swimming since the begining, but its only after he encountered Haru his swimming experience turned out in this omfg holy fucking shit wow. And that's like about summarizes their swimming problem. It's never the "I can't", it's their "I don't wanna". Bc of course after doing it with each other, on their own it's already doesn't feel as good as it was before they knew how it could be. That was what Rin was talking about with Rei. He went to Australia after swimming with Haru to become stronger and he for sure didn't expect nor missing him so badly nor such heavy impact he had on him and then he hit the wall, until he came back and the first day he swam with Haru he had a breakthrough. Bc when he's with him this wall doesn't exist.

Besides taking it to another level of enjoyment, they give each other wings to surpass their limits, which yeah.. would make you addicted, so after that going back to "I'm still talented but can't cross this line" thing is like going back to eating boiled potato after tasting a french fry. And when Sousuke realized that in their case being together is an advantage and they to say give each other superpowers, he was like "huh. my bad then". Bc it's rarely happens tbh.

So as this dad persona of "do not ruin your future kids, do whats best for you" I have a feeling that he's gonna be hella pissed once he finds out what these two did. I don't think he's gonna be as agressive about it as before ofc, but he's the only one who has the ability to play the Lan Xichen part here, bc when it comes to rinharu he never beats around the bush or being subtle really. And he can get actually pissy about them doing that to each other.

So this sequence (hopefully no one will be upset, since its already posted here on tumblr as it is):

+ with him at the end of the movie basically saying "go for what you want then" makes me want for him to say to them just that. That they're the rare case of how love can give you wings. Bc coming from a skeptic like Sousuke it would mean even more. Bc he's like me very cynical about these kind of things. The way he talks about how rinharu inspire each other and made each other who they are at the end is a huge thing. But true, I do also want him to adress the Haru's reaction to Rin's leaving and the letter. PLS BRING UP THE LETTER! HAHA I just think it's be very funny to see Rin's face when he finds out that the letter was delivered to the right recipient. Plus Sousuke can also adress the fact of how Rin keeps being a scaredy-cat about his feelings, same as when he couldn't send it. "You were never afraid to go for what you want..." he said in his speech.

So I think Sousuke is gonna dig from this side, bc he's not very good about feelings part, but he can be like "if even I get it, then you should too", Makoto can do his usual Switzerland thing of "okay, let's all talk about how you really feel" thing lol It's like again Rin's stuck on the fact that Haru can't forgive him for that time, someone should bring up Hiyori and the theme of Haru having his I'm unworthy trauma, that he thinks Rin doesn't want him enough to stay, that it was not just about that one time, but about each time he leaves and doesn't talk. So I just think it'd be great if Sousuke and Makoto teamed up on this (and bring Ikuya with you to confirm it), bc Rin must see the whole picture to say, dude legit doesn't get it. And also bc no Makoto, no Sousuke, no Ikuya has the whole info, but combined it's more like it. Like once again Rin's leaving problem and not knowing how to do this is one thing, but like if they tell him about Haru's problem and that he makes him feel unwanted, it's gonna be already another thing. I can just imagine the look on Rin's face when he finds out what's the real deal behind that. It's gonna be kinda like when Rei told him that Haru felt guilty in s1, but times 10000. Bc again for him its like utter nonsense.

I just also as many have really high hopes about Sousuke shaking things up, bc I don't think Makoto is able to do that. I mean if even in the Hiyori situation he was that passive, I don't see how he can help here much besides the "let's talk it out and all be friends" and providing the info, but we'll see, there's also Ikuya, who was watching rinharu and gathering info the whole movie and he also knows the way Haru was back then, so who knows who's gonna surprise us haha. Sousuke is just the only one barging in and telling them openly "what the actual fuck" kind of guy so.. lmao

I also just keep thinking how if like Nagisa, Rei and Sousuke would be onto the Hiyori situation things would've been different. I'm still so sad no one like that was there. Rin would be already informed and we might have not be where we are now with the way it escalated tbh. But it is what it is, so.. yeah, we'll see how it goes.

P.S. why it gets sadder each time, it's like u fucking kidding me or smth... can someone seriously help to explain, bc it's killing me seeing this thing from both sides. It'd be easier if it was some dumb or funny misunderstanding, but this is too heartbreaking and it's like not even 10 freaking years in the making angst. It's also like their whole personal since childhood problems.. It's like maybe we should also talk to Rin's mom too about this whole thing about loving someone too much and that it's better to take a risk and have it even if its for a bit than not have it at all... 😭😭😭 lets just call SOS meeting so everyone can come.
