Therefore, keeping an eye on your brand online is essential to growing and protecting your business. Brand monitoring is essential for every business for the following reasons:
React immediately: Show your care about your clients' views.
Look at your competitors: Monitor what your competitors are doing and notice both their successes and failures.
Know your audience: Determine what they like, dislike, and want from your brand.

Why PHP Is Still the Best Choice for Web Development in 2025

Introduction
In 2025, web development continues to evolve rapidly, with new technologies and frameworks constantly emerging. However, despite the rise of newer tools, PHP remains a powerful and reliable choice for web development. As one of the oldest server-side programming languages, PHP has continually adapted to the changing demands of the internet, making it a top pick for many developers and businesses. But why is PHP still considered the best choice for web development, especially in 2025? This blog will explore why PHP remains indispensable, even with the competition from modern technologies.
The Popularity of PHP: A Brief Overview
PHP, which stands for Hypertext Preprocessor, was initially created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1993. Over the years, it has become the foundation for millions of websites and web applications, powering platforms like WordPress, Facebook, and Wikipedia. Even as newer programming languages have emerged, PHP has stood the test of time. In 2025, its longevity and adaptability make it a go-to option for web development.
PHP’s Key Advantages
Before diving into why PHP continues to thrive, let’s first examine the core advantages that have kept PHP at the forefront of web development:
Open Source & Free: PHP is open-source, meaning developers can use it for free. This reduces the overall cost of development, which is essential for small businesses or startups.
Ease of Learning: PHP is beginner-friendly. Its syntax is easy to grasp, even for developers who are new to programming.
Large Community Support: With its long history, PHP has a vast community of developers who contribute to the language's growth. This ensures plenty of resources, libraries, and tools to aid developers.
Wide Hosting Support: PHP is supported by almost every hosting provider, making deployment easier for developers.
PHP’s Flexibility in Web Development
1. PHP & Its Compatibility with Databases
One of PHP's most powerful features is its seamless integration with databases. Whether it’s MySQL, PostgreSQL, or even NoSQL databases, PHP allows developers to create dynamic, data-driven websites easily. MySQL, in particular, is one of the most popular relational database management systems, and PHP has built-in support to connect with it, making it a perfect match for database-driven applications.
2. PHP Frameworks: Accelerating Development
Over the years, PHP has seen the development of numerous frameworks that significantly improve the development process. These frameworks provide pre-built modules and libraries that help developers create web applications faster while ensuring that best practices are followed. Some popular PHP frameworks include:
Laravel: Known for its elegant syntax and robust features.
Symfony: A highly flexible and reusable PHP framework.
CodeIgniter: A lightweight framework known for its simplicity.
CakePHP: Ideal for rapid development.
These frameworks enable developers to create secure, scalable, and well-structured applications with less effort, which is why PHP continues to dominate the market in 2025.
3. PHP's Performance Optimization
PHP has come a long way in terms of performance optimization. With features like opcode caching (using tools like OPcache) and improved support for multi-threading, PHP can now handle larger, more complex applications efficiently. This performance boost has made PHP more attractive for businesses that need reliable, fast-performing websites, even under heavy traffic.
4. PHP's Integration with Modern Tools
Another key reason PHP remains relevant is its ability to integrate with modern development tools. PHP works well with various content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal, which are still some of the most widely used platforms for building websites. Additionally, PHP can be used with JavaScript frameworks (like React or Angular) to create dynamic and interactive websites.
PHP in 2025: How It Continues to Adapt
In 2025, PHP continues to evolve to meet the needs of modern web development. Its regular updates ensure that it remains secure, efficient, and adaptable. PHP 8, for example, introduced significant performance improvements and features like Just-In-Time (JIT) compilation, which helps speed up execution. PHP 8 also brought in improved error handling, which allows developers to build more robust applications.
1. PHP & Cloud Integration
With the rise of cloud computing, PHP has adapted to work seamlessly with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. This allows developers to take advantage of cloud hosting services, enabling them to build scalable, high-performance web applications that can handle increasing traffic and demands.
2. PHP for E-Commerce Websites
PHP continues to be a dominant force in e-commerce development. Platforms like Magento, WooCommerce, and PrestaShop are all built on PHP, providing flexible and customizable solutions for online stores. PHP's robust features, scalability, and ability to integrate with payment gateways make it an ideal choice for building e-commerce websites.
H3 Why PHP Is Still the Best Choice for Web Development in 2025
Here are the top reasons why PHP continues to be the undisputed leader and remains the best choice for web development in 2025, offering unmatched flexibility, performance, and support for businesses of all sizes: 1. Strong Community and Ecosystem
PHP's large developer community offers support, resources, and frameworks that continually enhance its capabilities. This extensive network makes it easier for developers to solve issues and stay updated with the latest trends and technologies.
2. Affordability and Cost-Effectiveness
Since PHP is open-source and free to use, it reduces the costs associated with development, especially for businesses looking to build scalable and efficient applications without breaking the bank. Many hosting providers offer PHP hosting at affordable rates, making it accessible for businesses of all sizes.
3. Security Features
PHP offers built-in security features that help developers safeguard applications against common security threats like SQL injection, XSS attacks, and CSRF. With constant updates and community contributions, PHP remains one of the most secure languages for web development.
4. Versatility for All Types of Websites
Whether you're developing a simple blog, a complex enterprise-level application, or a robust e-commerce platform, PHP can handle it all. Its versatility allows businesses to use it for a wide range of web applications.
5. Continuous Improvement and Innovation
With ongoing updates, including PHP 8’s latest features, the language is continuously improving. PHP adapts to new technologies, making it an excellent choice for businesses that need reliable and modern solutions in their web development projects.

Headless WordPress: The Future of Fast, Flexible Websites
Are you looking for a faster, more customizable website? Headless WordPress might be the perfect solution! At Island Wizards, we specialize in building headless WordPress websites that are not only fast but also highly flexible. Let’s break down what this means and how it can help your business.
What is Headless WordPress?
In regular WordPress, the front-end (the part visitors see) and the back-end (where you manage your content) are tied together. Headless WordPress separates the two, giving you more freedom. With headless, WordPress still manages your content, but developers can build the front-end using newer, faster tools like React or Vue.js.
This means your site can have a custom, modern design and run much faster than traditional WordPress sites.
Why Use Headless WordPress?
Here’s why headless WordPress is becoming so popular:
1. Faster Websites
By using lightweight front-end technologies, headless WordPress helps your site load faster, improving user experience and reducing bounce rates.
2. Custom Design Freedom
Without the limitations of WordPress themes, developers have full creative freedom to design unique, interactive websites tailored to your business needs.
3. Multi-Platform Content
With headless WordPress, you can easily deliver content to different platforms, like websites, mobile apps, and even smart devices, all from one back-end system.
4. Better Security
Because the front-end and back-end are separated, it’s harder for hackers to attack your WordPress admin panel, making your website more secure.
5. Adaptable to the Future
Headless WordPress allows you to switch or update the front-end without changing the whole site, making your website ready for future trends.
Who Should Use Headless WordPress?
Headless WordPress is great for:
Content-heavy websites like blogs and news sites that need fast load times.
E-commerce stores that need a highly customized shopping experience.
Mobile-first businesses that need content for both websites and mobile apps.

Web Development Trends 2024
As a web developer who's been in the game for over a decade, I've seen my fair share of trends come and go. But let me tell you, 2024 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting years yet. The web isn't just a place to find information anymore; it's a dynamic, interactive space that's becoming more like our physical world every day. So, grab a coffee (or your beverage of choice), and let's chat about what's hot in web development services in USA right now.
First up, Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). I remember when we had to choose between building a website or a mobile app. Now, with PWAs, we get the best of both worlds. These apps load lightning-fast, work offline, and feel just like native apps. I recently worked on a PWA for a local boutique, and their sales shot up by 30%. It's amazing how giving users that app-like experience can make such a difference.
Now, let's talk about AI. It's not just science fiction anymore. I've been integrating AI-powered chatbots into websites, and let me tell you, they're game-changers. They handle customer queries 24/7, freeing up the human team to focus on more complex issues. It's like having a tireless, knowledgeable assistant that never takes a day off.
Speaking of AI, have you noticed how everyone's talking to their devices these days? "Hey Siri, what's the weather?" "Alexa, order more coffee beans." Voice search is huge, and it's changing how we approach SEO. We're not just stuffing keywords anymore; we're thinking about how people actually speak. It's made me rethink my content strategies, focusing more on natural, conversational language.
On the technical side, serverless architecture is making waves. Remember the days of managing servers, worrying about scalability, and those dreaded 3 AM calls when something went down? Serverless has changed all that. I'm building more scalable, cost-effective apps without the server headaches. It's liberating to focus on coding rather than infrastructure management.
Now, let's get a bit visual. Motion UI is turning heads (literally!). Adding those subtle animations and transitions makes websites feel alive. I recently revamped a client's portfolio with some slick Motion UI, and the engagement metrics went through the roof. People aren't just visiting; they're staying, exploring, and really interacting with the content.
And speaking of interactivity, Single Page Applications (SPAs) are everywhere. Frameworks like React and Vue.js have made it easier to create these fast, app-like websites. Users don't have to wait for new pages to load; everything happens dynamically on one page. It's smoother, faster, and users love it.
But with all this interactivity and data exchange, security is paramount. Cybersecurity isn't just an add-on; it's foundational. SSL, multi-factor auth, secure APIs - these aren't nice-to-haves anymore. They're essentials. I always tell my clients, "Your users' trust is your most valuable asset. Let's protect it."
On a lighter note, dark mode is now a must-have. It's not just about looking cool (though it does); it's about user comfort. I've started including it in every project. Users thank me for saving their eyes and their phone batteries!
Looking ahead, blockchain and AR/VR are the frontiers I'm most excited about. Blockchain isn't just for crypto; it's bringing transparency and security to all sorts of web applications. And AR/VR? Imagine trying on clothes virtually or taking a tour of your dream home from your couch. I'm just scratching the surface with these technologies, but the potential is mind-blowing.
Lastly, there's edge computing. It's all about processing data closer to the user, reducing those annoying delays. For real-time stuff like IoT or live streaming, it's a massive upgrade. The web is getting faster, more responsive, and edge computing is a big part of that.
So there you have it, my friends. The web application development in USA is fast, smart, interactive, secure, and more immersive than ever. As developers, we're not just coding; we're crafting experiences. It's challenging, sure, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Every day brings a new problem to solve, a new technology to master.
What excites you most about these trends? Are you working on something cutting-edge? I'd love to hear about it. After all, the best part of this job is that we're all in it together, pushing the boundaries of what's possible on the web. Here's to making the web a more amazing place, one line of code at a time!

How Flutter Helps Small Businesses Build Mobile Apps on a Budget
The Flutter app can help entrepreneurs see clearly the best way to expand their businesses. The rising trend of flutter app development is having a profound effect on every conceivable industry and business sector. Since 2017, Google's Flutter has been one of the most popular frameworks for developing mobile apps across several platforms. Particularly relevant for persons interested in rapidly expanding their personal businesses via mobile apps.
Flutter is an excellent tool for software engineers looking to build apps that can run on multiple platforms. You may create applications quite quickly with its help. The high quality of the user experience and user interface design may be guaranteed by using Flutter, which has a rich feature set that includes the ability to create spectacular visual effects. Building multi-view (MPV) views is an important part of app development, and Flutter is widely considered as a powerful tool for doing so. In this article, we'll explain why it makes sense for startups to fund the development of a Flutter app.
What is Flutter?
Flutter, a Google-developed open-source program, develops mobile, web, and desktop apps with a single code base that runs on many platforms. Since it's a user interface rather than a library or framework, it's suitable for cross-platform application development (SDK). SDK contains libraries, frameworks, documentation, and other tools for application development. A library supplies code for a program to accomplish a certain function, unlike a framework. Instead, a framework provides tools to design an application's architecture.
Widget-based Flutter. Object-oriented programming can be used for any app element. Flutter simplifies widget customization. It provides web application development-standard UI elements. Flutter's vibrant developer community releases code examples and helps developers build creative cross-platform apps. Several languages and frameworks are compared to Flutter. Compare Flutter vs React Native.
What Features Make Flutter an Excellent Programming Framework?
1. Cross-Platform Development
If you are just starting out in the world of app development, you may feel completely overwhelmed with knowledge regarding how to create an Android application or launch an iOS app. The question then becomes: why not develop for both iOS and Android simultaneously? You will have access to simple tools for designing mobile apps that work across multiple platforms when you use Flutter. These tools are designed to save you time and reduce the common headaches that come with producing two apps at the same time. Using Flutter, organizations are able to build applications for both the iOS and Android platforms using a single codebase, which saves both time and resources. If you use a single codebase across both platforms, your work will be a lot simpler.
2. Easy to learn
Dart is a programming language that is built into Flutter. Dart is a language that is simple to learn and has a lower learning curve in comparison to other programming languages. Because of this, it is possible for small firms to construct high-quality apps while employing developers with only limited expertise. It doesn't matter if a developer is skilled in Swift or Java; they can simply learn Flutter and start from zero when building apps. Developers will find it simple to become proficient in the object-oriented programming language known as Flutter. Registration on the Flutter website is required for all developers before they can move on to the setup and construction of their first Flutter app.
3. Faster Development
The hot reload functionality offered in Flutter is a powerful tool that drastically reduces the amount of time required to build an application. Testing, user interface design, feature addition, and issue fixing are all made easier by using hot reload. The Dart Virtual Machine will be automatically upgraded to the most recent version whenever there is a new release of the Dart source files.
With the installation of a new version of the virtual machine (VM), the Flutter framework will automatically rebuild the widget tree to incorporate the newly installed fields and functions. There is a lag of only a few milliseconds between saving and reading the updated code when using hot reload, which enables developers to see the results of their edits immediately after making them.
4. Customizable Widgets
Widgets provided by Flutter can be easily modified to conform to the requirements imposed by a company's branding and design specifications. This removes the necessity for costly design work and makes it possible for small businesses to create one-of-a-kind and interesting app interfaces. These can be used to create the graphical and functional components of an application, such as buttons, text, and input fields for users.
The widgets that are included in Flutter are built in a manner that is compliant with both the Material Design guidelines of Android and the Cupertino style of Apple. With these widgets, the personalization of the user interface, which is typically part of cross-platform development that takes the most time and effort, can be accomplished with very little effort.
5. Reduced Development Costs
Flutter can significantly cut the cost of developing mobile applications for small businesses thanks to its ability to run on multiple platforms simultaneously and its rapid development times. The ability to reuse code is one of the benefits offered by Flutter, which helps developers save both time and money. You only need to write the app's code once in order to make it work flawlessly on all of the supported platforms. In addition to this, it lowers the costs associated with the application's maintenance.
6. Community Support
Flutter has a sizable and helpful developer community that works together to improve the framework, release open-source packages, and provide assistance to newcomers. It is a great resource for small businesses to find answers to difficulties and learn from the experiences of other programmers. In order to save time and energy, developers can greatly benefit from access to a robust and active developer community. Flutter is also quite trustworthy because Google actively supports and updates it.
Because of the active Flutter community, there are always opportunities to learn about updates and get questions answered about the framework. These advantages have encouraged many programmers all over the world to consider switching to Flutter app development. Flutter can help them get more done in less time while still maintaining high quality and performance in their project.
7. Scalability
Flutter is highly scalable, which means that when small businesses grow and extend the services and products they offer, their apps can expand along with them. It is simple to scale up to online, desktop, and embedded device apps using only a single codebase. You will be able to change and expand your app's solutions and performance without sacrificing quality thanks to Flutter's easy-to-integrate capabilities, which really come into their own as your product matures. Because Flutter is still regarded to be a relatively young tool, it is still in a phase where its capabilities are being rapidly expanded. Because its capabilities are always expanding, the number of possible upgrades for apps built with Flutter will likewise continue to grow.
Wrapping Up
Flutter is an effective framework for developing applications that run on multiple platforms, and it avoids the fundamental limitations that are common to other cross-platform software. The solution enables the creation of a clean user interface. The ability to rapidly offer individualized apps that run smoothly and at a relatively affordable price point is one of the primary advantages that organizations can reap from employing Flutter as an app development framework. You can build your own with Flutter; all you need to do is hire a Flutter development team with good skill sets and experience.

Sonichu 11 Page 80

Caption: And now, the paid advertisement from V.B.B. (regardless of how out-of-context, outdated, and juvenile one is)
Caption: Bananasauros
Caption: You can play as the titular banana dragon as he rescues his friends in a 2-D game setting.
Caption: Bananasauros
Caption: VBB’s Sonichu in Maradonia
Caption: (Seriously not canon at all)
Caption: Travel through Maradonia in search for the seven S-Chu ball crystals.
Caption: VBB’s Sonichu in Maradonia
Caption: *This game contains foul language and fan-made mis-plot(s).
Caption: **Both games require the DosBox emulator to play, which it is free to download from dosbox.com. Both mod-created P.C. games are available for download from shikadi.net. Neither game has been rated.
The main advertisement for this issue is the only one that was actually paid for by someone else - ya know, like an advertisement. Chris can’t get through the opening ad copy without snarking at Waterman.
Waterman is, apparently, something of a fan of old DOS games, and has offered two fictional examples here - a Bananasauros centric game, and a spinoff of Sonichu, VBB’s Sonichu in Maradonia. Both games appear to be 2D platformers, with screenshots likely made by Waterman.
The Bananasauros game seems simple - he rescues his friends by jumping over obstacles and climbing on trees. Who these “friends” are is vague, possibly Punchy and company?
“Maradonia is the fantasy realm created by one Gloria Tesch (currently going by the pseudonym Sofia Nova), a lolcow in her own right who claimed to be a child prodigy releasing a fantasy epic series named “Maradonia” and turn it into a multi-media empire (the Two-Face inspired cover with a Sonichu face half normal and half deformed into a Medusa head is a parody of the first Maradonia novel’s cover), but everything aside from a few books fell through when the public at large realized Gloria and her parents were scam artists.
Waterman imagines a lolcow-created property crossover, with Sonichu characters traversing Maradonia in search of Sonichu Balls (I believe the player character seen in the screenshot is Sonichu). Chris seems to have reacted extremely negatively to this one, putting this games non-canon status directly under the title. It also apparently is more adult than its Bananasauros counterpart, with harsher language and “fan-made mis-plot(s)”, whatever that means.
Neither of these games have been produced, by Waterman or anyone else. DosBox is a real emulator of DOS games, and is in fact available for free download at dosbox.com. Shikadi.net is also a real website, a wiki dedicated to the preservation and emulation of DOS games, but there is nothing about Sonichu, Bananasauros, or Maradonia on the whole site.
I haven’t been keeping close tabs on Waterman, but his active interference in Chris’s life has largely wound down by now, this big thing in the comics being one of their last major interactions.

Design App For Mac
Responsive Web Design App Mac
Responsive Design App Mac Desktop
Seashore is an open source image editor that utilizes the Mac OS X’s Cocoa Framework. Responsive design, react native, web dev, mobile app development, tutorial Published at DZone with permission of Gilad David Maayan. See the original article here. Oct 04, 2017 Responsive design support — allowing you to display the same pages differently on devices with different-sized screens — was rudimentary at best; you can swap between desktop and tablet versions, but if you've finished creating one layout, you'll have to start all over from a blank page to create the other.

The Noun Project is the perfect resource for designers that need generic UI/UX icons. They host an enormous collection of well-designed icons for everyday needs, like status icons, media buttons and menu icons. Their macOS app lives in your menu bar, ready to pop down and provide access to the huge array of icons from your desktop. If you pair it with a paid subscription to the Noun Project, you’ll get access to every icon on the site. Free accounts contains a smaller subset of icons.
Sketch
Sketch is a powerful vector editor designed for the web. It’s built to help designers create vector assets for websites and apps. It’s powerful and flexible, with a ton of tools tuned specifically to the needs of UX and UI developers. Stop fighting with Illustrator and check out a better—and cheaper—option.
JPEGMini
JPEGMini is a tool for compression JPGs before sharing them. Like it’s web-based client TinyPNG, it uses image optimization tricks to cut down the file size of large JPGs. The app can also resize images, saving them to a unique destination or overwriting the originals in the process. The Pro version even includes plugins for Lightroom and Photoshop, compressing your images straight out of the gate. If you need to process a ton of photos for your website but don’t want to suck up all your users’ bandwidth in the process, JPEGMini will be a huge help.
LittleIpsum
LittleIpsum is a free menu bar app that generates Lorem ipsum text for use in webpage mockups. It’s cool because it can quickly create text in a variety of lengths, and it’s always at your fingertips. Just click twice to copy a preset Lorem ipusm block of the chosen length to the clipboard, and then paste as normal.
Tower

Tower is a GUI for Git version control. It helps users work with Git by abstracting away the cryptic command line codes, simplifying Git version control while retaining its abilities. Considering how widespread Git is as a version control methodology, having a good client in your tool belt might make your life just a little easier.
Coda
Coda comes from beloved macOS developer Panic, which builds well designed and superbly functional Mac apps for designers and developers. Panic calls Coda “everything you need to hand-code a website, in one beautiful app.” It’s essentially a super-powerful IDE for building websites from scratch, including a powerful text editor, a WebKit-based preview module, and robust file and project management. If you’re looking for an all-in-one tool to help you build websites by hand, this is what you need.

Sublime Text
Sublime Text‘s praise have been sung far and wide across the development landscape. It’s a powerful, flexible text editor with a huge feature set geared specifically towards developers and programmers. It pioneered now-mandatory features like multi-caret editing (write in more than one place at a time!), massive customization and a built-in file manager. For users that need to get down and dirty with code, you couldn’t ask for a better text editor. The only downside is the $70 price tag. For users with shallow pockets, GitHub’s Atom is a free alternative with almost as much power and even greater flexibility.
CodeKit
CodeKit is just about essential for macOS web developers. It speeds up your web development workflow significantly by automatically refreshing browsers every time you save your code, but that’s not all it does. It also complies languages like CoffeeScript, Less, and Sass, and includes cutting edge tools like an auto-prefixer for vendor-specific prefixes and Babel.js for “next-generation” JavaScript. All in all, it makes web development on the Mac a much less tedious process.
FileZilla
FileZilla is a free, open-source FTP clients. You can use it to sync with remote servers using FTP and SFTP. If you’re doing any major web development, you know that an FTP client is a must for updating remote files. If you want a powerful but free alternative to slow or expensive apps, FileZilla fits the bill.
Design App For Mac
Sequel Pro
It’s developer calls Sequel Pro is a “fast, easy-to-use Mac database management application for working with MySQL databases.” It’s by far the most mentioned and most recommended Mac app for working with MySQL, the dominant database language of today. Great for advanced users and beginners alike.
MAMP
If you work on back-end or server-side development, you’ll need to have a functional testing environment on your mac. You can get a lot of the tools you need in one go with MAMP. MAMP stands for My Apache, MySQL, PHP, which are the three software packages it installs on your Mac.

(a) embracing the phenomenological attitude (Researcher curiosity and pre-understandings)
* Curiosity to capture, document and come to deeper understandings of design education in the context of teaching to a Chinese cohort of students online, about design for social/environmental good.
* Also to create a way of capturing both my actions and experiences, and the reactions of the students. As a way to reflect on experiences.
* Wanting to explore my experiences of teaching online to this class of Chinese students. Exploring cross cultural communication, design education online with cultural and languages differences.
* Also curious to see how students react to the wearable action cam and how this changes the dynamic of the teaching environment - whether if worn for long enough, both educator and students forget it is there. How the experience is mediated through the wearable recording device.
* Pre-understandings being those of teaching online before to this class. First time teaching from this particular study room and from home (previously have taught online from EIT classroom).
*Pre-understandings of what works in this context and how to sustainably teach and conserve energy when teaching online to an ESOL cohort.
* Curious to test how the wearable head-cam captures the screen, my interactions and movements.
(b) entering the lifeworld (through descriptions of experiences)
* Standing at desk about half-way through first class of the first week of online teaching to ZYU in Shaoxing, China.
* Feeling a bit apprehensive and self-conscious about putting helmet on and seeing reactions from TAs + students (some mild anxiety about them being confused or laughing at me).
* Legs feeling a bit stiff and sore from standing for extended periods at the screen.
* Voice a bit horse from speaking louder and sower than usual
* Self-aware and conscious of the fact I look ridiculous, and the camera is recording - taking me away slightly from speaking and acting 100% naturally.
* Feeling a bit awkward with students and TAs confusion/bemusement. But overall, it’s quite mild.
* Feeling of being scattered and ‘spread’ across multiple channels and platforms. Juggling and multi-tasking different communication platforms (video call, wechat, email, facebook and other websites)
* Camera puts subtle weight on top of my head and straps are noticeable under my chin.
* Seeing the live camera feed of my own face in the helmet and getting some amusement from this.
* Being aware of where I look and how this was capturing footage (almost like a laser beam or all seeing eye, illuminating and capturing whatever it lands on.)
* Remember it being unexpectedly cold this day. Wearing three or four layers with a hoody and jacket.
* Left leg in a moon boot as I was recovering from ankle injury. Standing lop-sided favouring my right leg. Slightly uncomfortable.
* Guiding students through transition design and wicked problems - more difficult in an online context (lack of ability to map and discuss content in more immediate and embodied ways), and with students who don’t speak great English. Was relying on TAs to translate a lot of the content.
* Seeing the students up close and with more clarity with new camera system. The way the camera cuts between views and degrees of proximity/closeness reminded me of movie editing. Also reminiscent of security camera footage.
*Smell of carpet, curtains, fabrics etc. Slightly dusty and stuffy, but not as bad as other days as temperature was cooler. Coffee aroma from empty cups and the copious number I’d had while working throughout the day.
*Sound through tinny computer speakers + audio decay/lag through the live video system. Creak of the helmet and creak and wobble of my desk (it needs another screw added to make it sturdier). Chatter of students in Chinese, Wanna and Lulu talking in Chinese and occasional questions for me in English. Hitting of keys on keyboard and mouse clicks.
* Feeling of carpet and yoga mat under feet. Desk, keyboard and mouse in hand.
*Aware of posture from time to time and readjusting to tuck chin in and put shoulders back.
* Taste of coffee on tongue and back of throat. Occasional grind or fleck of coffee in teeth.
* Some frustration at lack of embodied connection with students and TAs. Hard to connect and create energy and interaction in online environment. Especially with language and cultural barriers. Looking forward to heading over to Shaoxing to teach in person.
(c) dwelling with horizons of implicit meanings
* Considering how the wearing of the helmet provokes acknowledgement, slight interest and curiosity from students. How it also prompts self-consciousness and awareness from myself and heightened awareness of my actions while recording and wearing it. What will happen if I wear it for a longer period of time while teaching? Will it cease to be so much of a distraction and become less noticed?
* The experience of teaching online is embodied in some ways (my own bodily experiences on my side of the video call), but also more dis-embodied and dis-embedded in others e.g. lack of social interaction and connection, exacerbated especially in cross cultural context of teaching in English to a native Chinese class, and lack of ability to fully see and pick up on non-verbal and bodily cues from students if I was actually walking around and interacting in person.
(d) explicating the phenomenon holistically
* The experience was disembodied in some ways, embodied in others, facilitated and mediated through interfaces, screens, hardware and software.
(e) integrating frames of reference.
* Through this encounter/experience, it has sparked my curiosity to see what happens if I wear the helmet for extended periods of time in terms of my own self-consciousness and how it impacts students in the co-learning process.
* Interested to keep developing the headset and incorporate further sensors and ways of reading my bodily/sensory perceptions to feedback into my analysis and the system. Especially if the wearable device gets significantly bulkier and cumbersome, how this impacts on the teaching experience.
* Made me curious to see how my experiences of teaching this course online evolve/are interpreted and encountered as the semester goes on, and the novelty wears off.
* How I will compare and contrast these online teaching experiences with being in China in person (if I get there this semester).
* Curious about how the helmet and other wearable embodied sensing devices will be perceived in a Chinese cultural context.
* I will take this experience and reflections on this experience and integrate it into my approach to future classes and especially next time I incorporate embodied sensing devices into my practice.
* Curious to explore how myself and students can co-create and enact new understandings and knowledge together. * How to improve my practice for this cohort of students and be more inclusive and appreciating of their diverse cultural perspectives and how to take on board their viewpoints to enhance my own practice. Challenge my western views of design.

Best JavaScript Frameworks For Robust Web Development
There are a number of popular JavaScript frameworks available for web developers. Some have positive aspects, while others may have more negative effects. It is important to consider each framework's strengths and weaknesses before making a decision.
JavaScript frameworks provide beginner JavaScript developers with a basic foundation that helps them develop website applications more efficiently. This eliminates the need for novice developers to create their own foundation from scratch, which can be time-consuming and stressful.

JavaScript is a multi-paradigm language that encourages functional, event-driven, and robust programming styles. It is also popular for its use of the object model and prototype-based design patterns.
JavaScript is used on both the client and the server side- this is succinctly put by saying that JavaScript is the language of the web.
In this article, we will explore the benefits and drawbacks of both back-end and front-end JavaScript frameworks.
What Is a JavaScript Framework?
The collection of pre-written code snippets will make it easier for you to perform common tasks with JavaScript, especially if you are a novice developer.
JavaScript Frameworks are special modules that contain a variety of code libraries specific to different types of applications. This base module can be used to access these libraries and compile code for use in specific projects.
The JavaScript framework will determine the structure of the complete application. This includes how components are organized, as well as what features are included and where they will be placed.
What Does a JavaScript Framework Do?
JavaScript is an effective option for web development, and several of its frameworks focus on supporting this activity.
Creating a web app or website from start to finish can be time-consuming. There are many different JavaScript frameworks available, which allow for repeatable features on each project that resembles the final product.
There are many different frameworks that can be studied literally in order to understand how businesses or software designs work. These frameworks help outline the overall shape and assistance a particular company may need. Moreover, these same principles are often used by businesses when creating their own applications.
JavaScript frameworks provide pre-written code that provides commonly used programming features. This makes development easier, since most of the work has already been done for you.
Best Javascript Frameworks for 2023

NodeJs
Node.js Development was released in 2009 and is one of the most popular Javascript frameworks. This is an open-source runtime framework designed to allow JavaScript to run without a browser, unlike the other front-end oriented frameworks listed.
It is intended for building network-based applications at scale. To achieve that; nodes are optimized for efficient resource management. It is also compatible with other libraries and frameworks.
Main function
All APIs in the Nodejs library work technology. That is, it is non-blocking. After calling one API, the server switches to the next API. The Node.js event notification mechanism allows the server to get responses from previous API calls.
The Node.js library, based on Google Chrome's V8 JavaScript engine, provides very fast code execution.
Node.js has a one-threaded model with an event loop. The server responds non-blocking using the event mechanism. This is in contrast to traditional servers, which have limited threads to process requests.
Node.js apps don't buffer data. These applications output data in blocks.

Each version of the framework comes with full documentation. It's convenient in terms of approach, code type, and class.
Various resources and packages
Integrate the Laravel framework with React, Vue.js with NPM, Yarn, and Laravel Mix. It is useful when it comes to asset and resource validation processes.
Cons
Poor built-in support
Laravel has minimal native support compared to competing frameworks such as Ruby on Rails and Django. However, with a third-party solution, this problem can be quickly fixed and reverted.
I have a problem with a specific upgrade
In general, there are some challenges with long-term support for the PHP platform. It's true that updates can cause minor problems, but developers with proper care can make the process smoother. things look more complicated than they really are
Some features of Laravel can be simplified. First, it's a large amount of documentation that not all programmers can handle initially. However, Laravel and the support of the online developer community make the early stages of using the framework as easy as possible.

What is the difference between the MEAN and MERN stacks, and which one should you choose?

Introduction
Web apps are used by companies worldwide to fulfill the evolving requirements of modern organizations. It really doesn’t make a difference if you’re an IT executive or an entrepreneur looking to build unique web applications; choosing the correct technology stack is always difficult. This is due to the possibility of it having a direct and major impact on the eventual outcome of your development project.
The MEAN and MERN stacks are two of the most widely-used technology stacks for building web-based applications. So which one would be more valuable to your business MEAN or MERN stacks? Your choice determines everything about your application, including how long it takes to build, who you would need to employ, and what it can accomplish. As a result, developers must select a stack that maximizes adaptability, scalability, and efficiency while being cost-effective. And to make that selection, people should have complete information about the characteristics and benefits of each option.
What is MERN Stack?
The MERN Stack is a popular JavaScript stack that is comparable to MEAN but also falls under the full-stack category. It aids in the development of hybrid smartphone and web applications. MERN is a set of JavaScript-based databases, frameworks, and runtime environments, similar to MEAN. The MERN stack allows developers to work with an end-to-end framework, and its usage is constantly increasing. The MERN stack’s key benefit is that it is a platform that provides corporations and businesses with the agility, efficiency, and insight they require to succeed. As we all know, today’s web consumers expect high levels of performance and interaction. Therefore, JavaScript is at the heart of several technologies that allow developers to create and provide websites with rich experiences similar to those found in mobile and desktop applications.
The components of MERN Stacks can be categorized as
MongoDB is a NoSQL database manager based on documents.
Express.js: Node. Js-based server-side application framework for creating single-page, multi-page, and hybrid web apps.
React: It is an open-source front-end JavaScript library for creating UI components-based user interfaces.
Node.js: It is a cross-platform JavaScript runtime context based on Chrome’s V8 JavaScript for executing back-end apps.
Features of the MERN Stack
Some of the popular features of the MERN stack are:
MongoDB is a database that can run on several servers. The data is copied to keep the system running if the infrastructure malfunctions.
There’s no need to swap contexts when there’s only one language. The client-side of the web app, as well as the server-side, are built with JavaScript.
Developers may quickly create customized applications thanks to a flexible data format with changeable schema, a rich GUI, and command-line utilities.
When it comes to UI layer abstraction, React JS is ideal. Furthermore, because React is a library, it gives you the ability to create your own application and better organize your code.
Benefits of the MERN Stack
Ensures a smooth web development procedure by facilitating the model view controller (MVC) design.
Real-time testing with a comprehensive set of built-in tools.
For a speedier development cycle, it offers a flexible component-based structure.
React-based code can be run on browsers as well as servers. It gives developers the freedom to generate pages on the servers whenever they need them.
JavaScript is used to cover the entire development process, from front to the rear.

Scalability
Because of its generally accessible components, the Java programming language is scalable for web app development. The language will react to your needs if you wish to scale your online application horizontally or vertically, especially in financial logic and permanent storage levels.
Platform- Independent
This is most likely the most compelling reason to use Java for web development. Java allows programmers to write code once and then reuse it anyplace else. Because of this essential feature and benefit of Java, it may easily be used in multi-platform applications.
Memory management
We’ll aim to simplify how Java handles memory, which may become a little complicated. All Java objects are stored in a structure called “heap” in Java programming. When a web application starts, a heap is created, which can grow or shrink depending on the execution.
Security
Java web application development is used by software development organizations in India and throughout the world because Java is incredibly safe. The reason for this is that it has various security features built-in, such as robust authentication, cryptography, and access control, that make it ideal for web development.
Conclusion
We’ve just covered a few of the most obvious reasons why Java is a good choice for web app development.
