1. Ocelot Sunrise

A nice roguelite bullet hell with various levels (only one playable in the demo) and a sci fi scavengers story and a comics/borderlandesque aesthetic that makes the cutscenes very nice to look at. The background music is a bop too. Alas the controller controls are not completely implemented yet and quite clunky to use in a mixed way, however the power ups and the weapons seems really fun to play with.

2. ASTRA: Knights of Veda

On first impact a bread and butter jrpg with all the pros and cons of the genre like huge bazongas! Regardless of which category you consider them in. The artstyle in game and in battle is expecially nice with this sort of "dress-up paper doll" look that sets it somewhat apart and the cutscene style for the evil faction and the dream realm is quite good. The controls are nice and intuitive enough although it needs a mouse to click on certain things like equipment. The voice acting is good enough? I'd say but the audio levels mixing leaves to be desired in some parts. Now the cons: it required to make an account even to play the demo and it has an obligatory post download 8 gb of additional content, there are "daily reward" and buyable cosmetics but most aggravating of all (for me) there are minutes of cutscenes every 5 minutes or so of gameplay.

The first bugged demo. The second prompt for the italian tutorial popped up with this half baked and definitely not italian way and had to restart the game in english

The gameplay itself is fine? For a game like this? Certainly not particularly nice nor particularly bad but the camera bobbing is atrocious, it gave me nausea after I cleaned the first house, the game was also completely silent. I'll add a +1 for the promise of a pettable dog

4. Lose CTRL

A surreal satirical you rage you lose puzzle game in which you play as Billy as he tries to climb the corporate ladder to reach a segway. The game mess with your controls and your mind in a mix between Get Over It and Brazil (1985). The split screen capabilities intrigue me although I wonder how it could work with keyboard and mouse controls. The general style is charming and distinctive but also amateurish and rough around the edges. To try, at least once.

5. Leila

Leila is a chill and relaxing kinda lofi click and drag puzzle game that goes back the memory lane in a coming of age(?) Tale for a middle aged woman, the titular Leila. The puzzles shown have a nice variety between styles and difficulties, and they are certainly meant for someone looking to lubricate those neurons. The art and the background music are pretty nice and the voice acting is quite good too. If you like click and drag puzzles I feel that wishlisting this one (and always trying the demo before) maybe one of your best bets so far.

6. Tales from the Dancing Moon

An old-school-ish rpg inspired by runescape in which you run around doing errands for the townsfolk and at the same time try to unravel the mistery of your memory loss, the presence of a smartphone that you can use to take photos in game gives it a mild isekai flavour but not too strong based on what I've seen. The controls appear fluid enough and the sound design while not spectacular does it's job. The character creation menu is surprisingly in-depth for this kind of games.

7. There's Always a Madman: Fight or Flight

A text based spy adventure in which you play as this super special agent and have to choose between different options both in action and dialogue. While the story itself seems nice the absence of any voice action or any background image besides some solid background color makes the experience hoverwelmingly boring as you are left to click repeatedly thru text.

8. Rocket!

A mix between a shoot them up and a roguelite bullet hell heavily inspired by galaga and the classics. While the concept is nice and seems intriguing enough and I don't doubt it may end up garnering quite the cult following like many other niche games the controls are exceedingly hard and finicky, the spaceship appear to drift incontrollably with no apparent rhyme or reason.

9. Aureole: Wings of Hope

An incredibly fun and novelty platformer/dasher game where you follow the tale of two angels while you speed and dash and jump at full force thru obstacles in the shape of a bouncy halo. The mechanics are surprisingly simple and incredibly flexible at the same time, creating a gameplay that can be adjusted to your own needs, I appreciated particularly the ability to "freeze" while you charge a jump or a dash. Despite not being a platformer lover I absolutely adored this little demo to bits, so far the only that has left me truly wanting more.

2. hot or cold where you live?

i legitimately wish i knew. it was so hot one week that i could feel a tangible temperature difference when i went from my upstairs floor to my downstairs floor, but a little while ago it snowed (and then melted because it became warm again). BUT we’ve had some mildly violent downpours of rain today, so i would say that it’s been a really weird in-between recently

3. is your room aesthetic worthy?

not particularly!! it’s fairly neat and tidy aside from some of my clothes that i always leave on my office chair out of a bad habit i should get rid of, but it’s not very interesting or pretty. none of my pillows (five of them) match and the lampshade on my lamp is pink, which is a color that is literally nowhere else in my room

4. apple or android?

i own an ipad + google pixel (which is an android smartphone), and i do use my ipad much more frequently (i’m using it to type this post actually dhgkfghkdfj) so it’s a bit of a hard decision but i do have to go with android honestly. apple really does not have very good camera quality at all compared to the pixel + there’s more customization options there. you can change the font + keyboard background + icon style and a bunch more things on pixel, it’s real neat

5. one thing you hate about tumblr’s new format (or tumblr in general)

i’m unfortunately a (kind of?) new user still so i have no clue what the old format looked like. also i know that this website has a reputation for being discourse hell so i’ve only really stayed within my little corner of it, which means that i don’t think i’ve been exposed to the true horrors of this place and therefore don’t have much to say. however i have to say that the functionality of the app is REALLY not very good. i’m currently writing this on safari because i can’t figure out how to put a cut on posts on the app :”)

oh boy. one of my worst aspects is the fact that i’ve grown up in a place where there’s usually a moderate amount of people (like y’know, just your average neighborhood), and anytime i go to a place which has way less people (like nature and rural areas) or way more (like very densely populated cities), i have such an unbelievable amount of discomfort and unease. however, in this case, i think i might choose to run away to the forest and restart life there because tbh cities make me more nervous than being out in the general wild. also, that means i can finally live life as the mysterious forest witch that i’ve always wanted to be!! (not the children-eating kind though, i barely have enough stomach room to eat actual human food)

uhhhhhhhhh. i’m the DM for this really awful D&D campaign that some of my friends are playing, so i suppose that would be the most recent piece of writing that i’ve been working on!! (even though i’m a terrible DM and this whole thing has been mostly stagnant recently. i’m so sorry you guys)

10. worst and best thing about school during quarantine

i think the best thing is the fact that i have much more free time now!! i can re-organize my routine how i’d like because i’ve got plenty of wiggle room these days and i can also (usually) go at my own pace when it comes to assignments, which is significantly less stressful. the worst thing is the fact that i now have to communicate with my teachers primarily through e-mails which is significantly more stressful. hell is real and it’s when you have to interact with people professionally online

My Nyko Type Pad for PS4 (recorded video) - Part 3 [2/20/2020]

Here’s my part 3 of my DualShock 4 (V2) accessory I’ve bought from Datablitz (game store) - the Nyko Type Pad QWERTY wireless keyboard (for PS4 DualShock 4) ⌨️🎮.

Alright, it is time to test out my QWERTY wireless keyboard (with my DualShock 4 attached of course) connecting through PS4 pro and see how it performs, so I recorded a video via my Honor 8C 📱 and hope you watch and observe (please). 

BTW: #1: I skipped the part when the PS4 console tries to scan the Bluetooth pair until the name pops up for about 4 seconds and no I did not edited, I just simply paused from my smartphone. #2: I took me 30 - 40 minutes to make this right during recording, one of which It failed to connect and the other was restarting the console, so don’t asked...

My Experience: •Now as you watched my video, I switched on my wireless qwerty keyboard before I did my DS4. The speaker of the qwerty wireless was (kinda) like from the mp3 player speaker drive only more quality than the cheaper one. Suffice it to say the speaker from the qwerty keyboard was decent in my opinion, at least I could jack in with my speaker but it will be a bulky to handle when I go to the other room (specifically to the kitchen and bathroom).

• The connecting the console with my qwerty keyboard was a bit cumbersome. When I pressing the sync button from my qwerty keyboard for a long wait ( ,the blue lit blink shows up; ) It did not show the name ‘Nyko Type Pad’ from the Bluetooth pairing list. Unless I press it again for 3 seconds and let go before it finally pops up. Yes I know seems weird to me and hope I could never redo (I think). After I typed in the number code it is now connected, so now I could finally to used to type in and also the mini directional stick. As I go back to the main menu the directional stick really works functional; up,down, left, right and pressing the center stick like R3 and L3 buttons from DS4 ( although you can’t see me pressing it so sorry, my phone sometimes wasn’t focus on the bright ^^; ) . I entered their own browser and typing in using rubber keypads and it response well; only gonna pressing hard due to that material used, again I was thought and prefer the solid keypads but I guess this is fine - I’m getting used to pressing rubber keypads. I’ll try not to hit the letters with my finger nails or else it’ll be faded, making it unreadable and pound to be mistake letter(s).

•And uh it can also remove my qwerty keyboard from my DualShock 4 controller but that’s gonna be saved for another part coming soon.

BTW: #3: I even try the glow in the dark rubber keypads but it did not advertise. It’s sorta work but it just doesn’t in full glow and that’s a shame, all well... #4: And as for the build in battery like a power bank through DS4 it didn’t delivered as promised, but when I read instructions carefully I was wrong so that feature was excluded. It only shows that ‘can charge both Dualshock 4 and the qwerty keyboard attached simultaneously using the included micro usb cable through PS4 console’; I’m not sure it’ll suited to charge via usb charger port but I decided not to do (for no reason). #5: As I mentioned the Bluetooth connectivity from Type Pad qwerty keyboard, it can also be connect/pair from other devices like android, iOS / Apple devices (not sure if it works) and PC / laptop. I tried to scan both my Laptop and my Android smartphones and it pops up the name, but I decided not to try and I’m gonna used it for PS4 because it doesn’t have a keyboard for PS4, so yeah.
