hanbyul is super introverted because he was isolated growing up

his power of empathy made it difficult for him to be around many people, so his parents pulled him from school early on to homeschool him

he didn’t really know anyone growing up other than his immediate family 

so being in the academy around all these people is ROUGH for him

his mother dies when he was 14 which meant wow emotional stress for his family which meant WOW too many emotions going through him at once

he dad realized that something serious was going on with him after assuming his whole life that hanbyul was just different/acting out

the academy came and got him at the age of 17 and he’s been there ever since

he lives in a room alone at the dorms to help keep him calm

it’s not that he doesn’t want friends

in fact, he’s suuuuuuper lonely and wishes he could be around people

but he gets immense headaches if there are too many emotions flowing around

so it isn’t really that he’s shy, he jsut doesn’t know how to be around people

he also doesn’t know if what he’s feeling are from himself or from other people so it’s hard for him to feel grounded

hanbyul can’t control who he can feel or how many he can feel at once

his work at the academy has been slow since he gets overwhelmed/exhausted so easily

feels useless because he can’t exactly fight 

is currently learning how to control his mental reach to people, how to keep people’s emotions out of his head on command, and how to turn his emotions into a kind of mind control where he can change someone’s will to whatever he wants

tl;dr — her parents were investigators for the local police department in a town in busan and basically used her to torture suspects into confessing. ingrained in her that this was for justice so she was like ok... but then when a falsely accused man went mad as a result, she began wondering how many others were just falsely confessing for the pain to stop. so she started avoiding her parents and did a dang good job at it. thankfully, a scout from the academy came to her rescue and she enrolled when she turned 18.

hardly anyone knows about her past because she doesn’t talk about it at all lol

naturally, she hides all the issues that stemmed from her past (minor apathy problems and moral conflicts) underneath a confident-ish persona who acts like she has her shit together.

for the most part, she does have her shit together now. during the first few months she was in the academy, she was a lot more withdrawn and hardly ever used her power but now she’s more or less embraced it.

embraced it in the sense that there’s nothing she can do about it so she might as well get good at it. and she’s pretty fucking good at it now.

but also prone to kinda going overboard sometimes out of habit so 😶

fairly approachable and easygoing, most of the time. doesn’t have a temper on her which is a good thing, but like i said, a little apathetic which isn’t too much of a problem yet even though the moral ambiguity does jump out occasionally.

( ie. just because you don’t care doesn’t mean you can push that carelessness on her; you more or less might see her rolling her eyes at you for being so laid back ) you can usually see her quietly stewing before evaluations and exams because she’s trying to keep her concentration. it’s probably a known thing in the divine nine circle but outside, the student body would probably think she aces the evaluations because it comes easy or that her family name is getting her places

her power is crystal manipulation with the sub-powers of crystal aura / exoskeleton, crystallokinetic combat, and crystal healing. she’s physically her strongest when she’s near crystals or crystalline particles, which is why she wears a crystal around her neck ( ie. 1, 2 ; she’d usually exchange the crystal out between several different chains, but it’d still be the same purple amethyst ); you could also see her subconsciously tinkering with it whenever she speaks, is idle; it’s kind of like her safety net. along with her power, she’s weakest around those who have powers such as sound manipulation, mimicries, or vibration powers !

( 0 / 1 )  mone isn’t usually clumsy, she doesn’t usually misplace her things, but one day she’s stressed -- she has a million thoughts running in her head and she’s distracted ; she misplaces her necklace and you find it. do you have plans on returning it or holding it captive for a hefty reward in return?

( 0 / 1 )  there was this one time that she made a crystal the size of a boulder in her second year and had it hit someone by accident at full force. no one really remembers this, but mone dies whenever someone brings it up. ( you were probably the person she hit and she’s forever sorry about it )

mone is a natural extrovert and loves making friends. even more so now that she’s passed the legal age and is all the more happy to host parties at the end of evaluations. if you hear about a party, it’s probably mone throwing it. ( you can probably see mone at club A or club galaxy at the end of every stressful week ) you’d think she’d be a shoe-in for the welcome wagon club, but no -- she’s the person the welcome wagon club introduces last because of all the things she’ll pull said new students into.

mone’s older brother went missing five years ago, right before she and her brother were to be shipped to avengers academy and it’s been a very tiresome five years since. his disappearance has affected her heavily and not many people know it. even more so, do people know that he’s actually missing.

basically! her great great great grandmother was a faerie from the otherworld realm where faeries are a thing but the faerie gene kinda skipped over a couple generations until it landed on jumi, but by then, her parents were settled in ireland as normal humanz

greetings earthlings! this little baby here is sungjin, the academy’s awkward-weirdo-fox! im ethan, you can call me g (like gee gee gee gee baby baby) if its easier for u! add me up on discord to if u want it’s eggyeool#0330 anyway ‘nough bout me! here are sungjin’s pages about (that i have yet to finish), bg, and power.

sungjin comes from a very high profile family. his father owns a lot of business (legal and illegal).

he has a twin brother named sungmin and they’ve been bffs since like forever.

they’re both pretty close to their mother since she was always the one there. but that changes when she gets an illness that takes her life and leaves the whole family broken.

everything pretty much goes downhill from there. his father unable to cope with the loss turns into an alcoholic and drug addict. the abuse starts and sungjin was the perfect punching bag because he was the imperfect twin.

his powers manifest when he was 13. it happens while he was getting beat up by his father. he lets out a blast of psionic energy that knocks his father out enough for him to get away and back to his brother.

this where his “training” starts, his brother was smart and quite the nerd for stuff like that. so he tries to help sungjin get a grasp of his newly found powers.

around the age of 15 was when his worst nightmare unfolded. his brother and him would often escape the prison that is their home. and during one of those nights they get followed and caught by a gang that his father owes money to. (more on this on his bg)

his brother takes a huge hit to the head and that leaves him in a coma and in the hospital since the unfortunate event.

this is where sungjin starts to get swallowed by darkness and loneliness. his brother was all he had and that too was taken from him. it took a toll on their father too because sungmin was everything sungjin was not. smart, popular, all around the perfect son. so the beatings just got worse from there, his father blaming sungjin for everything. and sungjin believes it because he couldn’t protect his brother.

now sungjin is devestated and angry. for years he tries to avenge his brother by trying to pick fights with said gang that is responsible. that’s how the academy found him and scouted him. they saw potential and great power in the boy.

sungjin wasn’t too keen on joining the academy and leaving his brother behind so it took a while for him to leave. he took it as a way for him to be able to bring his brother back.

and that’s how sungjin finds himself at the academy.

he always carries his journal with him and pretty much writes letters to his brother hoping he’d be able to read them soon. (SOMEONE STEAL IT OR FIND IT AND READ IT!!!!!! ITS FULL OF SECRETS)

he doesn’t even know how powerful he is. he has bad self-esteem from all the abuse from his father and the bullying and rumours circulating him and his brother back at school. (bro was real popular and he was just like a shadow that was there -- the rumours got to the point where they say it was sungjin that did it because he was jealous of his brother) huhu

is very very VERY gullible and naive. he is a baby. please use this to your advantage lol

after having a very close relationship with his brother he actually managed to develop a link to him. he can hear his current thoughts and feelings without physically having to use his power to read him. so like a weak mind link. JUST IMAGINE HAVING THAT LINK DURING THE TIME THEY WERE KIDNAPPED AND THEN THE LINK JUST FADES INTO NOTHING ;u; I CRI!

he comes off as very quiet and awkward at first but if u manage to get him out of his shell his just really a ball of kittens and puppies!!!

his family has the “be the best of the best” mindset so when they thought he was a normie they pushed him really hard to be like, an above average human (think natasha romanoff and clint barton)

but yknow it’s kind of hard to do when ur constantly drilled with “NOT GOOD ENOUGH” so hes got self-esteem issues

really he’s mostly slightly above average human in terms of combat skills and whatnot, nothing special (he spent most of the training time wishing he could just either die or leave)

he illogically hates the world bc he assumes it has the same expectations his parents do of him

when they did figure out what his ability was, his family wasn’t super impressed bc they all have explosive, offensive abilities (which is why hajin wishes his own powers were more explodey so he can blend in w them) and they all thought he turned out super average even for a powered person

reluctant to form attachments/friendships/relationships because he’s had bad experiences w people in general starting from his family and then to other ppl who expected him to be just as bomb ass as the rest of his family but he turned out to Not Be (he’s used to getting disappointed ‘oh’s about him)

found an hourglass and accidentally traveled to some egyptian history after a field trip to the museum. that was not a fun experience. he was like nine.

at around eleven years old, his time perception ability developed, so he lost control of it, being unaware it even existed, but caused people (in his school) to lose their sense of time momentarily and a danger for humans.

his parents cared for reputation, so they moved the family out to a remote village to be at peace and taeseok was forced to be homeschooled while his siblings weren’t

developed a fear of his own ability after chrono vision left him bedridden and weak; the images in his mind were confusing and it frightened him

came to distrust people as well since if he can’t trust his parents, he can trust no one. a cynical, daydreamer who is passive aggressive and wishes to be alone most of the time, but secretly craves attention and affection. 

avenger’s academy is his saviour, but he stands between the shades of grey of a hero and a villain, knowing there’s no straight black or white in the world.

power:  hydrokinesis  is  the  ability  to  create  ,  shape  &  manipulate  water  ,  and  a  number  of  other liquids  ,  in  any  form  .  this  power  is  also  known  as  water  bending  or  water  manipulation  .

strengths:

the  user  can  manipulate  water  in  any  state  ,  be  it  liquid  ,  gas  or  even  solid  .  this  gives  the  user  the  ability  to  manipulate  ice  and  gasses  to  an  extent  .  

the  user  can  harden  water  to  form  tangable  things  such  as  shields  ,  weapons  or  walkways  .

the  user  can  draw  strength  from  water  ,  and  even  heal  most  of  their  wounds  with  it  .  they  can  also  heal  other’s  wounds  ,  though  it’s  more  draining  .

the  user  can  summon  mass  amounts  of  water  from  surrounding  areas  .

weaknesses:

while  the  user  is  able  to  manipulate  any  form  of  water  regardless  of  state  ,  the  user  is  not  able  to  create  ice  nor  gas  .

the  user  has  a  lower  resistance  to  fire  ,  thus  burns  easier  and  much  worse  .

when  the  user  creates  water  using  their  own  body  ,  like  things  such  as  water  blasts  ,  this  can  quickly  dehydrate  the  user  due  to  the  water  being  pulled  from  within  them  and  thus  is  dangerous  .

summoning  or  shaping  mass  amounts  of  water  also  significantly  weakens  the  user  ,  and  often  requires  rest  for  recuperation  .

hydrokinesis  is  useless  when  used  against  stronger  hydrokinetics  .  all  attacks  made  can  be  redirected  as  the  stronger  hydrokinetic  can  take  control  .

the  user  is  less  useful  in  fights  against  pyrokinetics  due  to  their  powers  being  counteractive  &  their  increased  chance  of  serious  injury  .

the  user  is  less  useful  in  areas  where  water  is  less  abundant  or  where  there  is  no  water  around  .

origins:  TRIGGER  WARNINGS  —  abuse  ,  mentions  of  sexual  abuse  &  rape  ,  mentions  of  suicide  ,  descriptions  of  method  of  suicide  .

     nam  suyeong  was  born  and  raised  on  jeju  island  in  south  korea  .  he  was  primarily  raised  by  a  single  mother  ,  his  father  having  left  them  when  he  was  too  young  to  truly  understand  that  he  was  never  coming  back  .  he  spent  a  lot  of  his  childhood  into  his  teen  years  watching  his  mother  want  for  things  she  couldn’t  have  .  whether  it  was  jobs  she  couldn’t  seem  to  get  ,  a  dress  she  couldn’t  afford  ,  or  most  probably  ,  a  man  who  just  wouldn’t  stay  .  you  see  ,  the  men  in  suyeong’s  mother’s  life  never  stayed  .  and  she  always  ,  always  wanted  them  to  .  

     suyeong  spent  most  of  his  life  watching  men  walk  in  and  out  of  his  mother’s  life  ,  and  his  own  .  at  first  suyeong  would  get  attached  to  each  man  ,  craving  the  love  of  a  father  that  he  so  desperately  wanted  ,  but  soon  enough  he  realized  wanting  things  doesn’t  get  you  anywhere  .  look  where  it  got  his  mother  .  man  after  man  using  her  ,  and  throwing  her  away  .  soon  enough  ,  suyeong  didn’t  find  himself  easily  attached  to  anything  or  anyone  —  everything  in  this  world  was  temporary  anyways  .

     he  began  to  lose  his  trust  in  people  ,  too  .  some  days  he  wondered  if  anyone  had  any  good  left  in  them  at  all  aside  from  his  poor  mother  .  seeing  men  that  would  scream  at  her  at  the  top  of  their  lungs  and  beat  her  black  and  blue…  and  it  didn’t  help  when  some  of  her  lovers  took  quite  a  liking  to  him  instead  .  the  longer  the  man  stayed  ,  the  worse  he  showed  himself  to  be  .  whether  he  was  beating  them  up  or  sneaking  into  suyeong’s  room  most  nights  while  the  boy  said  nothing  because  his  dear  mother  just  wanted  to  be  loved  —  they’d  never  have  a  happy  family  .  he’d  never  have  a  picturesque  life  .  

     suyeong  never  really  knew  his  father  ,  but  he  ,  like  his  father  before  him  ,  was  a  mutant  .  his  mother  was  human  ,  helpless  and  frail  and  needed  to  be  protected  .  his  father  had  always  said  he’d  protect  her  ,  protect  their  son  —  but  he  lied  how  most  men  did  .  suyeong  didn’t  spend  much  of  his  older  years  wondering  about  his  father  ,  not  until  his  powers  began  to  truly  manifest  ,  of  course  .  they’d  always  sort’ve  been  there  .  his  mother  had  always  known  ,  from  the  moment  he  was  making  shapes  from  water  during  tubbies  .  but  he  didn’t  ,  until  he  needed  to  .

     the  worse  the  man  ,  the  worse  the  wounds  .  he  doesn’t  really  remember  the  first  time  he  found  his  mother  crying  over  her  split  lip  and  bruised  cheek  but  he  remembers  how  it  felt  so  natural  as  he  helped  clean  her  up  to  use  the  water  to  heal  her  .  to  fix  those  wounds  .  not  how  other’s  did  ,  no  .  he  didn’t  just  cleanse  her  skin  with  the  water  but  he  could  use  it  —  use  it  to  stop  her  pain  .  on  the  worst  nights  ,  he’d  pass  out  trying  to  make  her  stop  hurting  .  

     suyeong  was  scouted  by  the  avengers  academy  when  he  was  sixteen  years  old  and  recently  orphaned  .  he’d  found  his  mother  days  prior  in  the  tub  of  all  place  ,  blood  pooling  around  her  .  he  tried  ,  he  tried  harder  than  he  ever  had  but  with  no  proper  training  it  was  no  use  and  by  the  time  she  got  to  the  hospital  ,  even  with  all  the  healing  he’d  done  ,  it  was  too  late  .  he  blames  himself  ,  blames  that  he  wasn’t  powerful  enough  to  save  her  ,  wasn't  strong  enough  to  save  her  ,  wasn't ENOUGH to  save  her  .  of  course  ,  it  was  what  ended  up  putting  him  in  the  sights  of  the  scouts  .  someone  with  such  healing  ability  from  their  hydrokinesis  at  such  a  young  age  —  thus  he  began  to  attend  the  academy  .  he  had  no  place  else  to  go  ,  after  all  .  

     suyeong  is  now  somewhat  of  a  condradiction  .  while  he  doesn’t  seem  harmful  or  ruthless  ,  and  while  he  seems  to  take  quite  a  liking  to  men  being  gay  and  all  ,  his  sunshiney  smile  and  feigned  innocence  is  often  used  against  the  men  he  takes  to  bed  .  he  doesn’t  trust  most  men  ,  and  has  few  genuine  close  friends  of  either  gender  but  is  much  less  trusting  when  it  comes  to  guys  .  of  course  ,  that  doesn’t  stop  him  from  sleeping  around  .  he  often  takes  pride  in  making  men  want  him  when  they  can’t  have  him  ,  making  them  feel  how  his  mother  did  .  after  all  ,  that’s  all  men  ever  did  to  her  .

     he  isn’t  always  nice  ,  and  doesn’t  really  pretend  to  be  .  but  he  isn’t  evil  ,  either  .  he’s  had  it  rough  ,  and  anyone  who  sticks  around  and  looks  hard  enough  can  see  it  in  his  eyes  and  the  way  he  closes  almost  everyone  out  .  he’s  pessimistic  when  it  comes  to  most  things  and  doesn’t  dare  tell  anyone  everything  about  himself  lest  they  know  too  much  and  use  it  to  hurt  him  ,  or  worse  ,  leave  because  of  it  .  but  he  has  some  close  friends  who  know  just  enough  that  he  cares  for  genuinely  .

     above  almost  all  else  ,  he’s  cocky  .  he  holds  himself  in  high  regards  ,  at  least  outwardly  .  especially  when  it  comes  to  men  ,  he’s  sure  everyone  wants  him  and  isn’t  afraid  to  act  like  it  .  he  doesn’t  ever  seem  self-doubting  or  as  though  he  has  a  war  waging  against  himself  inside  but  looks  ,  looks  can  be  quite  deceiving  .  

     aside  from  his  history  and  personality  ,  there’s  his  powers  .  his  grasp  on  his  power  is  much  stronger  now  ,  his  control  and  use  of  his  ability  has  significantly  improved  during  his  time  attending  the  academy  .  if  anyone  were  to  ask  him  ,  he’d  say  he  should  be  a  senior  .  he’s  talented  ,  powerful  ,  intelligent  —  but  what  the  director  sees  is  that  he’s  emotional  ,  even  if  he  tries  to  hide  it  .  his  feelings  rule  him  in  the  worst  ways  and  he  can  lose  control  due  to  it  .  one  day  he’ll  be  ready  ,  one  day  he’ll  be  a  wonderful  and  useful  assest  for  seoul  ,  but  not  today  .

born in seoul, sk

mother is powerless; father can freeze things with his breath

started making clones since he was a baby which scared the heck out of his parents when random babies started showing up in the house

was always very sociable and friendly. basically got to practice his social skills very often with replicas of himself.

joined the academy on the year he turned 16, aka 3 years ago. hard to miss him since day 1.

recently was invited to the welcome committee which he accepted joyfully. loves meeting new people and gets to show them around??? sweet!!!!

literally basically it.

POWER

self-replication means to able to make copies of himself and comes with the extra ability to recombine them back together.

his record of clones kept healthily at the same time was 10 (including with him, the original, a total of 11 hoons.) however, he can most commonly only maintain 4 at the same time without it taking a toll on his energy and health. 

if any of the replicas are hurt it will not effect hoon or the other replicas. however, if hoon is the one hurt, the replicas may suffer loss in their strength, depending on the level of the injury. if the original gets a cut the copies will not get a cut as well. instead, his body will have to focus its strength on healing himself instead of keeping a lot of clones alive.

making too many clothes may also result in faulty copies. ( tw: gore, dismemberment, body distortion, etc ) this may be mental or physical. when he overdoes himself, it isn’t uncommon for only parts of his body to multiply instead of a full copy. dismembered limbs have sadly become a common sight during practice. some other times it’s a nearly fully developed body with serious defects that don’t allow them to live. hoon and his close do not share the same mind or something hive-like. each clone comes with the most recent line of thought the original had during the moment of its creation. this means if he had a plan, the replica will know how to execute it. from this point on, however, they’d need to communicate verbally to get things done. they are all, essentially, hoon, though. they’ll think almost the same but with the expected few differences.

his clones all come fully clothed. this means he can also replicate the outfits he’s wearing, as well as any small object that could fit into his pockets. however, this is all subconscious. if he thinks too much about this, his clones will come out naked which wouldn’t be the first time (all accidentally!!!!!)

for hoon to recombine with his clones, he must touch them somehow. if a clone stays alive for more time than it should, it’ll dissipate into energy.

FUN TRIVIA

wears braces!!!!!!!!!!!! (hover his icon for visual) and has been wearing them for the longest time. ever since the year started, though, he’s been excitedly telling every person he meets about how this is the year he’ll get them removed. just you wait for it!!!

if you need a hand, feel free to call hoon who’ll go there himself, and if in need of extra help, he’ll be able to do the job with the help of... himself. has the instinct to stop and help anyone he sees.

if going for a special event or occasion, he will use his clones to try outfits and see what fits best.

being funny, friendly, cute and talented is not enough for him. hoon does have amazing grades, or else the headmistress wouldn’t have picked him to take part in the committee. he’s very humble, though.

even so, his talents stop around there. he can’t play any instruments or speak different languages. he feels sad about it, but the more he wants to learn, the busier he seems to get.

if you scare him right a new hoon may pop out.

very oblivious to any feelings people may have towards him but if he’s the one with emotions then it’s very clear.

SAD TRIVIA

( tw: gore, dismemberment, body distortion, sad stuff, etc. ) due to the often sight of not only limbs but his own body coming out deformed, it takes a toll on his mental health that hoon rarely shares with anyone. the more he pretends it's fine, the worst it gets, and hoon always says he’s fine. it’s hard to see yourself with your stomach right open with your guts spilling out, and much harder to make it happen yourself then having to touch it to bring it inside your body. it’s a painful process, but one he must go through. while his childhood is mostly told by himself as something fun and cute with all his clones, his kid energy was actually very bad for him. he used to make clones all the time, and the more clones he made, and the longer they stayed, the worst it was for his health. hoon often ended in the hospital for overusing his powers. there wasn’t much people could do to stop him from making new clones. exhaustion is something he met too often.
