This is one of my favourite scenes from HTTYD 3. The gang quietly flying in and landing, them slowly making their way to Grimmel’s tower, them sneaking around trying not to get caught, Hiccup reaching the top and going to confront Grimmel only to find he isn’t there, Grimmel taunting Hiccup, Grimmel’s backstory, the escape, ahhh idk it’s just such a cool scene. The only thing I wish is that we got more of this in the movie. It would have been cool to see more of Grimmel throughout the middle part of the movie. Perhaps he is leading the warlords towards the tower and telling them that this is where they will dock and make camp. He tells them that there are several islands miles ahead and that the Berkians will most likely be residing there but the warlords doubt his plan and don’t trust him. I’ve been so busy with the moving and finishing the new chapter of Wicked Game that I didn’t have time to post this illustration of Hiccup from the AU that @poppysfanworld and I are making.

We know many stories of Hiccup running away before the Kill Ring scene, but what would have happened if Hiccup runs aways with Toothless during the confrontation against the Nightmare and all Berk finds out his secret? Hiccup has been gone for ten years away from Berk, rebuilding his life from the ground up and he humbly works as a blacksmith in far island with a different name and a new identity. Everything seems to be fine until someone from his past reappears from nowhere.

Will Hiccup be able to fight the ghosts of the past?

Please, ignore the fact that his head is huge. I’m trying to make my drawings more dynamic and with more movement. We go little by little. My mind is crazy filled with headcanons, so I wrote some more. I mentioned in another post but I read a really good fic on how Nuffink got his name that almost made me cry. Check it out!

-Zephyr inherits her parent's artistic skills (Astrid's are seen in the RTTE episode where everyone thinks Stormfly has been poisoned). She loves having her parents teach her and has a particular interest in drawing Dragons. She asks villagers to tell her about how their dragons looked and acted (Fishlegs adores having someone to pour out his knowledge to) and Zephyr takes inspiration from the book of dragons. For a few years she isn't able to get her drawings exactly right, but when she finally does she goes crazy and paints a dragon on the outside wall of her house. Panic ensues over Mum and Dad's reactions, but to her surprise they love it and allow her to paint dragons all over the town. Each house and building in the village had an aesthetically placed dragon and the walls inside the great hall are filled with dragons great and small.

-Nuffink pronounces sorry the way his Dad does (With a Canadian accent) but Zephyr like her Mum. No one realises until it's pointed out to them, and from there after the two make fun of the way the other says it.

-Most of the time Zephyr and Nuffink look like a general mix of their parents, but occasionally one of them will make an expression that freezes people in their tracks at how much they look like Hiccup or Astrid. Zephyr is famous for a nervous grin identical to Hiccup's, and Nuffink has been known to have Astrid's death glare.

-Hiccup finally protested to Astrid braiding his hair, so she focused all her braiding efforts onto Zephyr. Everyday since her hair was long enough to braid Zephyr has had an interesting hairstyle, and Astrid is famous throughout the village for her masterful skills. Zephyr loves it because it allows for quiet time with her and Mum in the midst of her busy schedule.

-The kids mainly tag along with their parents on chiefly duties, but sometimes they would follow around various members of the gang, leading to them knowing a lot of random facts and embarrassing stories about their parents.

-Astrid continued to make the dreaded Yaknog every Snoggletog, everyone far too afraid of her to admit the truth about the concoction. Thankfully the tradition stopped when Zephyr complained about the drink and insisted Astrid actually try it, to which she realised it's revolting qualities and never made it again. A few years later Zephyr (who possessed the ability to cook unlike her Mother and Grandmother) revisited the recipe and made a new, very improved, delicious version which everyone loved and it becomes the official Berkian drink.

-Zephyr and Nuffink are used to their parents being affectionate in front of them, so one time when Hiccup and Astrid shared a short kiss, Zephyr's friend asked if she thought it was weird that they were kissing in front of her, resulting in the revelation that not all parents were like that. In a confusion, Zephyr sought out Gobber on the matter, to which he told her that her parents simply never left the honeymoon stage and that he didn't expect anything different from them.

-Tuffnut would tell Zephyr and Nuffink overly exaggerated stories about their parents adventures which started some interesting rumours throughout Berk's youth. Hiccup and Astrid would correct it by telling their children the truth as bedtime stories.

-"Tuffnut, stop influencing my children!" became a routinely heard phrase from Hiccup and Astrid.

-Zephyr and Nuffink have little bracelets with charms made from Stormfly and Toothless' scales

-Nuffink called them 'Toothy' and 'Stormy' as a little kid which Astrid absolutely adored.

-Every night after meeting the dragons, Nuffink says goodnight to Zephyr, Mum, Dad, 'Toothy' and 'Stormy.' The first time he does it he says, "thank you Toothy for letting us see you, I know Daddy misses you a lot but I hope you'll come visit and I can show you my dragon toy." Hiccup struggles to hold back tears as he bids his son goodnight, then proceeds to go to Astrid and cry.

10 years ago, we discovered a book adaptation made into a 3D motion picture, which turned out to be a huge success!

At first I had no interest in How to Train Your Dragon. But three years later I got curious and watched it, and fell unconditionally in love with this movie, and I wanted to learn more. I started next with the shorts, then the series until I heard of the sequel (httyd2) I am so very grateful to Dean Deblois and Cressida Cowell for making this happen. I couldn't be any prouder to be part of this fandom. Because HTTYD has changed my life forever. This is my first edit ever I hope you like it. 💙💙💙
