Barbaryos: Diamond Blade
As the representative of Knights Redtop, Barbaryos was dispatched to Verselle by the Lionheart Duchy to interview the Saintess. However, the Saintess didn't call him in the past months, as a result, he has no choice but to stay in this neutral city till now. Compared with Lionheart Duchy ruled by a rigid hierarchy, Verselle is the heaven for people who love peace and freedom no matter where they came from and who they are. The first time in his whole life Barbaryos makes friends that he can call them you…
War Rune Lance: Lance equipped by elite Redcap Knights. A symbol of superb combat skills and toughness.

Hey, just dropping in and letting you know that I like Barablius too, and share your lament that most of the HW fanbase hate him (IDK why) 😊
Hi, Anon!
I think Barbalius actually has some fans on the official ‘Helix Waltz’ Facebook group, but I also have a theory on the hatred he gets from part of the fandom.
For starters, a lot of people think he is being a snob to Magda even when he is trying to help her because he calls her ‘country girl’ several times. They are missing that in the context of the story, it sounds as a compliment. It’s the same as other characters who say she seems different from other noblewomen, or doesn’t sound like any noblewoman they know; in other words, Magda is not some frivolous entitled woman.
In Barbalius case, this seems especially true because his character profile says he is used to his very strict homeland, and coming to Finsel meant the first time he can talk to people as equals. Magda not coming across as a scheming noble is a positive.
Another thing is related to Barbalius’ side quests, namely that (spoilers ahead!) he asks for Magda to marry him and starts to list that it would be mutually beneficial for them, and Magda is upset at the prospect of marrying for interest.
Because I aimed sight at Barbalius right from the start of the game, I remember that he can be really self-deprecating when talking to her; he literally calls himself pathetic in the letter he sends after meeting her. In the final side quest it is said he was avoiding Magda after being rejected, i.e., ‘I offended her and now I am too ashamed to go set the record straight’, and then finally makes up his mind after he almost died without clearing things up.
Honestly, my conclusion here is that he did want to marry her because he likes her, but was not confident enough she would accept given only that reason - he tried to give her more logical reasons instead! Considering how Magda is, this was not a smart move, but I can’t hold it against him either.
By the way, I did not mean to turn my reply into a long-winded theory rant. I’m sorry! I see one of my Faves and I have to do a protecc, I guess. Thank you for your message! =D

There is also an additional compatibility quiz that you can take with the characters who had an interview with Magda.

[ID: An official sprite of the Moonlight Knight Barbalius partner from the Chinese mobile game Helix Waltz. He wears a heavily decorated, military-cut white suit and is holding out his floor-length cape, revealing the inside looks like the night sky with a full moon partially obscured by clouds.
