I say this in the least-pretentious, most mentally ill way possible, but it seems I have read Crime and Punishment so many times that I can recite parts of it from memory purely by accident and recall differences between the Macduff and Garnett translations on the spot

I must have read it about 900 times across the ages of 16 and 17 so I guess it makes sense that my brain built it into the walls but Jesus Christ

#at least i was blessed with the 'make me look impressive in front of normies' hyperfixation and not the 'can't shut up about pokémon'#hyperfixation while my brain was developing 😵‍💫#if i see an excerpt from it in the wild i can tell you the exact context and significance of the scene too.#good lord i was mentally ill when i was in high school. i feel like that obsession alone should have earned me a trip to the #guidance counselor #delphi washington
