running down your stairs, cheeks flushed with embarrassment for the scolding you’re going to get from your neighbors in the morning and the amount of effort your best friend put into this. despite almost sliding to your death on the final step, you fumble and quickly slip your slippers on and bolt out your front door.

haechan was standing in your front yard with the boombox still over his head, a small white dog holding a sunflower in its mouth and a sign hanging around haechan’s neck that had a big red heart drawn on it. ‘are you fucking inane? it’s past midnight right now!’ you say in a hushed whisper, walking over to the boy who was gleaming at you. his shaky arms lower as he maneuvers the box and turns down the music before lowering it to his side. ‘insanely down bad for you, pretty girl.’ rolling your eyes, you give his shoulder a slight shove before reaching down to pet the sweet little dog.

‘again whose dog is this?’ haechan ignores your words, grabbing your hips to pull you against his chest. he’s already nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck before you can question his sudden affection. ‘just say you’ll be my valentine this year.’ he mumbled against your skin, bringing warmth throughout your entire body. ‘what about the following years, hyuckie?’he laughs against your neck, wrapping his arms around your waist. ‘we’ll worry about that next year, this year you’re mine.’
