HOW ARE YOU SO GOOD AT DRAWING WOTH OBIS PAINT X AND AN OLD TABLET THAT CONSTANTLY NEEDS TO BE PLUGGED IN. AND EVEN WITHOUT THEM TOO LIKE SKETCHES ON PAPER DO YOU TAKE ART CLASS OR SOMETHING…?!?!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! LIKE I DONT UNDERSTAND BUT HOWEVER YOU DO IT ITS INSPIRING
first of all thank you so much this is so kind!
i haven't taken an art class since elementary i think??
i remember when i first started drawing back in june i had a really hard time getting clean lines- even harder when i switched from a stylus to an apple pencil. but eventually i just drew them enough times that my hand could just.. do it on its own in one swoop.
my biggest regret from not taking art classes is rendering- i still have a lot to learn with shading. problem is i REFUSE to watch youtube tutorials. too annoying. same goes for animation.

The Case of the Vanishing Mouse: When Chrome Eats Your USB Devices
You know that moment when you're 47 Chrome tabs deep into "research" (read: watching YouTube tutorials for hobbies you'll never start while simultaneously checking email, Reddit, and that one website where people draw mustaches on renaissance paintings), and suddenly your USB mouse decides it's had quite enough of this digital circus and ceremoniously disconnects itself?
It's not being dramatic. It's not mercury retrograde. It's a genuinely fascinating hardware quirk that exposes the precarious timing ballet happening inside your computer.
What's Actually Happening
What I've discovered through extensive analysis (and by "extensive analysis" I mean "becoming irrationally angry at my mouse and diving into kernel logs") is a delightful system architecture quirk:
When Chrome tabs consume significant CPU resources (mine were cheerfully gobbling ~44% each), the system experiences microscopic delays processing USB interrupts. For most devices, these delays are inconsequential—like being one person behind in line at the coffee shop. But USB mice, especially low-speed ones, are the technological equivalent of that person who checks their watch every 8 seconds while waiting for the elevator.
The error (-71 EPROTO) translates to: "I asked a question and didn't get an answer fast enough, so I'm disconnecting myself in protest."
The Class Divide of Input Devices
The most fascinating part? Your laptop's built-in touchpad continues working flawlessly during this mouse rebellion. This is because your touchpad lives on computing's equivalent of the Upper East Side—it connects through dedicated internal buses with VIP access to the kernel. When it speaks, the system listens.
Meanwhile, your USB mouse is essentially showing up to the party without being on the guest list, forced to communicate through the baroque bureaucracy of the USB stack, desperately hoping someone important notices its increasingly frantic message requests.
The Fix (Besides "Use Fewer Chrome Tabs" Which We Both Know Isn't Happening)
For those who refuse to close their 83 open tabs explaining why you should close your tabs:
#Tell your kernel to respect the mouse's feelings echo "options usbhid quirks=0x[your-vendor-id]:0x[your-product-id]:0x40" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/usbhid-mouse-fix.conf # Boost USB interrupt priority
echo "options xhci_hcd interrupt=7" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/usb-priority.conf # Refresh your kernel's perspective on life sudo update-initramfs -u
This essentially tells your system: "I don't care if Chrome is in the middle of rendering 47 JavaScript-heavy tabs about cryptocurrency—when this mouse speaks, you LISTEN."
The Broader Existential Crisis
The truly delightful thing about this issue is how it exposes the fragile assumptions underpinning our computing experience. We've built technological cathedrals on the digital equivalent of "well, it probably won't rain THAT hard."
So the next time your mouse vanishes while you're deep in a Chrome rabbit hole, know that you've stumbled upon one of computing's hidden fault lines—where timing-sensitive hardware protocols crash against the resource-hungry realities of modern web browsers.
And remember: your laptop isn't broken. It's just experiencing an existential crisis about resource allocation priorities. Aren't we all?

Week 9 - Prototyping
I was really keen to get into this week's content, as it felt as though the product was approaching its finished state. I had a pretty strong idea of the bottle concept I wanted to go with, so I used Rob's advice in the initial stages of the tutorial to make a template of the bottle on its top, front and side views (Image 1). I think that really paid its dividends as it allowed me to have a reference of the bottle's volume and size, but still allowed for a bit of creative freedom when creating the forms in Max.
After aligning my views and importing the reference images onto the planes of the box (Image 2), I started with the modelling of the front view. I found that working in one view at a time was the way to go, because it meant I didn't have to split my time between the three sides at once. I started with a plane and blocked out the outer edges of the form (Image 3), adding in the swift loops I learned from last week's tutorial, as well as the general navigation of the UI. I liked the amount of control I was starting to develop with 3ds Max, and I think that from last week, my skills have improved with more exposure to the program.
After the initial plane, I used the extrude tool to give it depth. When modelling, I decided to only focus on one half, and then mirror it over to the other side. I think its important to try and get concepts done as fast as possible, and I didn't want to overinvest on something that is meant to be experimental. I was having a lot of difficulty trying to connect the mirrored halves together into one solid mesh, so it took me a bit of time to find the answer on the Autodesk forums. I ended up finding a useful video on YouTube which instructed me to use the 'attach' tool when selecting both bodies to join them, and then bridging the edge loops together in the poly modelling tools. Although it was an arduous process, I think it was well worth the learning experience, and something which can be implemented into my workflow in the future to speed up my time modelling.
To create the taper on the side view, I used my discovery of the 'soft select' tool from last week to scale in the bottom section of the bottle (Image 4). I truly believe that the week 8 tutorial was pivotal in my understanding of the program, and it was really rewarding to use all of my experimentation practically. I then used the spline and lathe (Image 5 + 6) features to make the cap, tracing the reference image from the front view. I realised I forgot the bump at the top of the cap in the reference, so I added it into the lathe operation.
After the model was finished, I hid the reference layers (Image 7), and decided I wanted to work on rendering out my bottle design. I started by playing with the material editor in the Arnold rendering engine (Image 8). Before trying to play around with lighting and angles, I just wanted a base render of the bottle to see what the translucent material looked like. It was at this point that I ran into a sizeable issue. Using the MyAccess suite, 3ds Max was refusing to render anything out, and crashed multiple times before I gave up. Instead of trying to get the virtual machine to work, I switched to Blender on my PC. I was disappointed that I couldn't render anything through MyAccess, but I was comfortable with blender, and knew that I could make something which I was happy with.
I made a small pedestal out of a cube, and placed a bevel modifier in the exact same way I would in 3ds Max. Since I had made the jump to Blender, I decided that I wanted to add some branding decals to the surface of the bottle to make it look realistic. After, I UV unwrapped the model, and designed the branding in Photoshop Images 9 + 10).

I applied some textures and shaders to the bottle after preparing the decals and UV's. Browsing on Pinterest for inspiration, I found a frosted plastic which I really liked, so I modified the default Principled shader (Like Blinn or Lambert in Arnold) to pass light through; duplicating and scaling the bottle's body to create the moisturiser inside. I set up the three point lighting and camera angles for rendering in Cycles (Image 11 + 12).

Overall I was extremely happy with how these turned out, but at the same time I was disappointed that I wasn't able to improve my rendering skills with 3ds Max. Despite not using Arnold/Max as the renderer, I still learned a lot about product rendering and staging; as it is something I haven't had to do often. If I could redo these exercises, I would definitely get 3ds Max up and running on a stable platform so that I could render it out. I would also try a few more bottle concepts, and utilise the mirror feature more efficiently now that I know how to use it.
Pre-Class Activity: Andrew Simpson Cup Case Study
I found it extremely insightful when Andrew spoke about the continual and ongoing nature of designing prototypes. Digital and Physical model making both provide the opportunity for rapid iteration and 'tweaking' of ideas. What resonated with me most was when he discussed the importance of weight, and how the object "sits in your hand". Like his cup model, I believe that the physical foam model was influenced by how the form felt in my hand when carving it out of the block.
One stark comparison between Andrew's workflow and my own in this instance was the materiality of his concepts. Obviously, his concepts had a greater range of physical materials and product concepts, but I did my best to simulate that in 3ds max and Blender. Being in lockdown, it is quite difficult to source different tools and methods of production; so I think digital modelling really shines in this instance. Being able to try different materials, colours, finishes with the click of a button really works well with Andrew's mindset of low fidelity and rapid changes. In design, nothing is a static feature; everything plays a role in the perception of the final product.
Watching this video before working on my models was valuable, because it taught me that it was ok to deviate from the initial concept, and to go back and changes to try and enhance the product. It is a goal of mine to become more proficient and confident in every stage of design, and I found it really interesting to gain wisdom from someone who has been in the industry for a lot longer than I have.

I like your Ghost pictures~ Do you have any pointers for beginners? ;w;
first, thank you!
second, this is gonna be kind of a boring and very long winded answer so buckle up LOL
get a feel for things first before worrying about getting high end supplies. i mean it. if you do digital, you absolutely do not need a $3000 display tablet and a photoshop license to get good. i used to use a mouse or cheapy huion tablet and mspaint/online oekaki boards to do everything before eventually moving on to a display tablet and programs like photoshop. if you're going traditional, dont even worry about artist grade materials. i actually would recommend using something you can get for cheap and in bulk because you'll probably be going through a lot of it. when i was first learning, i used mechanical pencils or regular ol wooden or charcoal pencils and pads of recycled newsprint. it's fine! if people make fun of your cheap supplies, just beat em up! it's what i did!
like every other answer for questions like this, i'm gonna say learning the basics before focusing on style and content will help you the most. it'll make it wayyy easier later on. you dont have to be a pro at anatomy or realism and you dont have to know the names of all the bones and muscles but knowing at least the basic structures helps a ton.
USE REFERENCES!!! theres this line of thinking that never using refs makes you "better" or that it's cheating but that isnt true and i've found that most instructors will even yell at you if you refuse to use them LOL. a lot of really skilled artists who can get away with not referencing are able to do so because theyve already built up their mental library and understand anatomy/foreshortening/etc, which you can achieve through studying and referencing.
if you see a cool pose or something else that catches your eye or whatever, save it. comic/manga panels, pro photographs, stock images, anatomical diagrams, movie screenshots, save everything. i love references. i hoard them like a magpie:
Try figure drawing! You can do it online pretty easily but i find it hard to do from a screen. ask people around you if you can draw them. draw your mom. draw your cat. doesnt have to be anything special, learning how to draw relaxed and casual forms is just as important as dynamic ones. some places offer live model drawing sessions which i prefer but for online sessions i use posespace and sketchdaily (careful, there's naked people in there). another good resource is vishopper.
if you need help learning figure drawing and proper techniques, check youtube. searching "intro to figure drawing" yields some good results but i mostly really like this guy, Richard Smitheman. He has several lessons posted and he's really in depth and clear in the way he breaks down the figure.
actually I check youtube for EVERYTHING. watching speedpaints, draw streams, and tutorials takes up most of my youtube viewing time and i often have them on in the background no matter what im up to. if im trying to learn, i tend to go for people who are more professorial and am hesitant to recommend "art hacks" style videos.
looking at tons of different art is really helpful when it comes to figuring out how you want to render or construct figures. wikiart.org is my best friend and i push it on EVERYBODY.no matter how you draw or what style you're going for, it's always helpful to look at a variety of other artwork so you dont stagnate
developing a habit of drawing makes it much easier to strike gold as opposed to drawing solely when inspiration strikes, but still remember to take breaks, dont force yourself into burnout, and dont be afraid to delete your art if its just not working out

witcher 3: Stay hydrated, bitch
no, i’m not a gamer. But, Dr. Friend is.
One Saturday in the year 2001, probably, over the summer, I was sleeping in because I’d worked the closing shift at a gas station, and my slumber was disturbed by a weird repeating sound. As I came to wakefulness, I realized it was a cartoon villain voice saying something. I eventually got out of bed and deciphered that it was saying “your creatures need a bigger lair”. I went over and knocked on not-yet-Dr Friend’s door and solemnly told him to build his creatures a bigger fucking lair, and went back to bed. This has passed into history but I still occasionally bother him about building his creatures a lair. Especially at the moment, where in a fit of self-improvement, he rendered the children’s basement playroom unusable and has been procrastinating restoring it to usability by removing carpet from various rooms of the house instead, while the children have been locked inside for five weeks unable to access one of the major locations of the house where they can run wild. DUDE YOUR FUCKING CREATURES NEED A BIGGER FUCKING LAIR, my man, this is no longer just a weird inside joke but actually a deeply relevant situation. Paint the furnace room floor already and quit fucking around!
Anyway. Yesterday he brought down the X-Box console, which he’d had hooked up to the TV in his bedroom but had determined wasn’t really doing him any favors up there, because their daughter’s been refusing to sleep in her own room to the point of them finally setting up a cot for her in the corner of their bedroom, which means he can’t use the Xbox in the evenings, and so he’s been using it during breaks in the middle of the day, and he’s finally conceded that this is both antisocial and unproductive behavior. So now the Xbox is downstairs.
So he set it up and was scrolling around looking for a new game, and I was like “do Witcher! do Witcher! but only 3, that’s the only one where Geralt’s hot and the plot isn’t predicated largely on misogyny!” and he wasn’t particularly listening but I left the room because it was Pajama Time and when I came back down, his pajama-clad wife had just convinced him that he should, in fact, download Witcher 3, because she also wanted to see it. (Pajama Time is an important ritual, y’all.)
So he did, and we both watched in delight as the opening scene features Yennefer’s completely bare ass and also a bunch of gratuitous lingering shots of Geralt’s naked torso. For some reason he decided to do the game on Death March difficulty mode, which seemed ridiculous to me, especially when he then proceeded to spend the intro wandering around the bedroom running into walls and failing to climb bookshelves. MathMom went to bed early and missed out on the other bit of the tutorial, where Dr. F managed to get Geralt’s ass entirely kicked by Vesemir and throw a bomb directly into the middle of Lambert and Eskel’s sparring session. (They seemed remarkably unconcerned.) He kept having to put the controller down and get out his phone and look things up, and then go scroll through all the controller explanation screens to figure out the buttons, and such.
I was extremely dubious about how this Death March Difficulty was going to go, but dutifully passed along a bunch of excited tips from @akilah12902 who has been a fantastic source of Witcher 3 info for me on here this whole time when I’ve wanted to use video game canon to flesh out the worldbuilding in the MDS series, and then all of a sudden when the game really began and a bunch of ghouls swarmed onto the screen, Dr. Friend fairly handily despatched them and proved that he’d really just been fucking around this whole time. (This is kind of a running thing with Dr. Friend, where he’ll willingly just sort of make an ass of himself for a prolonged period and look like he’s just this whole disaster of a person, and then some situation will arise where he actually needs to be competent and he’ll just casually do that and it’s extremely confusing and I fall for it every time. I have known him twenty years and still am so prone to absolutely falling for it when he pretends to be a fool! In my defense, he’ll maintain the foolish pretense long past what I’d consider to be an emergency, so I’ve been present for a fair amount of actual fuck-ups because he hadn’t turned on his Be A Person mode in time.)
Then he picked a bunch of flowers because i told him he should, and we were both disappointed to discover you can’t pick flowers from horseback. Once we reached the inn, only then did he explore all the inventory screens, and discover that if you want you can un-equip most of Geralt’s clothes.
He put Geralt in underpants, gauntlets, boots, and nothing else, and said, “Look! It’s Pennsic!” but then decided that since clothing gives you a defensive stats boost he’d probably leave it on. He also realized that all the equipment has durability stats too, so conceivably your pants can actually wear out, so that’s a thing to worry about. (I want to know what happens if you actually wear out a pair of pants.)
That’s as far as we got, except for accidentally bodychecking the friendly innkeeper into a wall. Oh, and he was like, ok the ghouls took a big chunk of my health and i need to replenish it and don’t have any obvious healing potions, what do, and after wandering around the tavern for like twenty minutes, he finally tried taking a drink of water and the health bar went “zoop” almost all the way back to the top. “Oh,” he said. ( @akilah12902 responded to my ??? about this with the extremely apt observation “STAY HYDRATED BITCH”.)
So anyway. I’m actually really hoping that he uses his time painting the furnace room floor so his creatures can have a bigger lair, but maybe I’ll get to be amused by more of Geralt’s hair animations tonight, we’ll find out.
#gaming#The Witcher#witcher 3#long rambly post#listen Boy just woke me up slamming doors at 6am#i'm not the most coherent#that quarantine life#wee precious flower prince geralt

A Guide to Employing an Search engine optimization Service provider
seo optimalizace pro vyhledávače If your company has any on the web parts (such as a site), then Search engine marketing is crucial to the ongoing accomplishment of your business. You might have the most high-priced web page in your sector, but without having world wide web site visitors (guests) to that site, it is primarily ineffective. It is not just site visitors that you need to have, but qualified traffic. A excellent quality Search engine optimization assistance can provide related, reliable internet site visitors to your site(s). This information will make it possible for you, as a non-specialist, to distinguish involving excellent and undesirable Web optimization suppliers. There are many of the two varieties, this tutorial should enable you to locate the fantastic ones. Seo needs to be carried out in a way that is effective in accomplishing your Search engine optimisation targets and giving that all essential meaningful existence on the Earth Wide Net. Top quality Search engine optimisation is a vital financial commitment when it will come to developing effective enlargement and expansion strategies. Ineffective Search engine optimisation implementation, renders your Search engine optimisation efforts wholly ineffective and a waste of your income. 6 things you need to have to know and realize before choosing an Seo company: 1) Using the services of an Search engine optimization supplier really should be witnessed as an investment in your company. You need to not watch it as a enterprise expense, but rather a organization strategy and an effective way of maximizing your organization presence inside of your organization sector. Test not to start your research with the intention of "acquiring some Seo". Selecting an Search engine marketing company need to be considered somewhat as using the services of an personnel that understands and cares about your company and its online targets. 2) The 1st site of Google (or any search motor) is every thing. Couple of people ever go to the 2nd web page of the look for outcomes anymore. Google is so fantastic at staying a lookup engine that persons blindly have confidence in Google's skill to deliver the most appropriate results on the initially webpage. Believe about how generally you click on by way of to the 2nd site. This indicates that if your enterprise is not on the first page, it truly is virtually as good as nowhere. The prime positions on site just one get the most clicks, which lessen as you development downwards on the website page. three) The 'big' key phrases are not every little thing. It is far better to be on the initial site for a several smaller sized keyword phrases, than test to rank for even larger search phrases and not be on the initial webpage at all. For example, an accountancy business in Preston could not rank for the remarkably competitive search term 'accountant' (unless they have a whole lot of Seo finances and time to hold out for rankings) but the identical business could conceivably rank very for the search phrase 'chartered accountant Preston'. A good Seo service provider ought to analysis the keywords and phrases that your company could realistically rank on site one particular for and also search phrases that have enough look for volume to be worthwhile for your organization to try out position for. 4) Seo is all about beating your competitiveness. There is no guarantee from the research engines to say you will be on the initial web page of Google if you do specific items. Put merely, Search engine optimization will work like this: The look for engines have their conventions websites that conform by offering the look for engines what they want, will locate them selves achieving greater look for motor rankings. The only factor standing amongst you and the prime spots in the research rankings is your competition. Not your true company competition, but your on the internet competitors. The internet websites that at the moment have the prime spots in the research engines for your ideal key phrases are your on the internet competition, and you require to defeat them out of people best places. Some key phrases will be uncomplicated to rank for, other individuals will be a lot more difficult. It is only your on-line levels of competition that dictates which will be the circumstance for each and every particular person search term. A excellent Seo company will analysis the levels of competition for each and every of your key phrases. Then, immediately after the most efficient keyword phrases for your business sector have been determined they should be implemented in accordance with point number three over. five) On-webpage and Off-site Web optimization. Search motor optimisation is a intricate and ever-evolving science, but in get to intelligently interview a potential Search engine optimisation supplier you want to realize that there are two primary types of Search engine optimization. On-web page Search engine marketing relates to the elements on your web site that have an impact on your Web optimization (keywords and phrases, usability, webpage headings, outbound links, internal backlinks, and many others.). Off-web page Search engine optimization are the factors that relate straight to issues outside of your web page that impact the Seo of the web site, these kinds of as again back links, citations, social sharing, and so forth. Search engine optimisation suppliers can operate on your off-site Seo rather quickly, but if you are not willing to adjust on-site Web optimization, in accordance to their recommendations, you cannot blame them for absence of outcomes. A great Seo supplier will review your site and report back again about your on-site Search engine optimization, and how it can be improved. You really should have your world-wide-web designer make the changes.(Recall he is the skilled in this area) six) An enhance in look for engine position is not always an improve in potential customers and revenue. All your Search engine optimization supplier can do is get your web page, films, Google Spots, articles or blog posts, weblog posts, and many others. even further up the research motor benefits. They can't assurance an increase in profits or qualified prospects, due to the fact that factor is decided by your personal income funnel. It is not the Search engine optimization provider's job to make sure that the extra world wide web website traffic you receive will convert to far more qualified prospects or profits. Your site requirements to transform individuals guests with fantastic advertising, which is an challenge for your marketing specialist to offer with. The important distinctions among 'good' and 'bad' Seo companies: Fantastic Seo Providers Good Search engine optimization suppliers know and understand the points described previously mentioned. You can decide this by their responses to the queries provided later in my following write-up. Fantastic Search engine marketing companies want to make a reliable foundation and a correct Web optimization prepare for your company, with comprehensive original search term and industry (competitor) analysis. They will generally insist on it, even if the possible client does not see the need. At times a great Search engine marketing company will refuse to operate with a shopper that does not want the important groundwork to be accomplished, because they know that without it they will not be probable to provide the shopper with the outcomes that they want. A very good Seo service provider will want to supply their customer with results as their first precedence. Typically a consumer will say "but I have currently accomplished the keyword study myself". A lot of possible customers sit down for five or 10 minutes to write out all the keywords and phrases that they think are suitable to their small business, and then think that they have now completed all the key word research that is needed. True search term investigation is a prolonged, investigative course of action. Very good Search engine marketing providers use dependable Web optimization methods, these as shelling out far more interest to on-webpage Seo, securing high quality again inbound links, enhancing citations, aiding social sharing, making certain a excellent user expertise, and many others.

Shopping Road Strategy
SAN FRANCISCO (Wire service) - Facebook Inc's (FB.) big budget are actually facing a difficult event on Stock market. The anecdotal owning bebe's inventory price is quickly to basically change coming from an account of a doomed brick-and-mortar retail company to among a developing online retail store improved a solid brand foundation. Cloud services already suffuse our personal lifestyles-- for email, on-line gaming, social networking, discussing pictures, downloading applications, purchasing or even streaming popular music, or even watching online videos. A quick see to Google Maps and also a Street Perspective setting will expose some tarnishing, probably because of street scenery fleet steering to quickly in particular places that need this. Privacy advocates revealed problem regarding Street Scenery when folks were rendered starting activities they prefer to keep under-wraps, with the result that all people captured on film have their faces covered. Despite the fact that it would seem suitable in order to get these updates in real time, I experience it is better in order to get all of them manually as I have actually discovered until now these updates are accordinged to established events on the road like a planned repair service or even street closure as a result of an occasion and also consequently there is no must consume your money on information services attempting to check on updates every five or two miutes. The new Commercial Week originally featured SkyBridge founder and managing companion Anthony Scaramucci and also Morgan Stanley elderly consultant Gary Kaminsky as hosts, and the layout has been refreshed to sustain the sense of the original series while modernizing specific components of the presentation. If you're website isn't really recorded along with Google and also the other online search engine, and also improved along with the appropriate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for your regional market, even the attempt from possessing a web page is certainly not only a waste of time, but likewise a refuse from money. Each access could contain approximately 5 varieties, two email deals with and also a road address. These are substantial areas that gather charities and also activity by contributors on social networks for a easy however efficient internet contribution system. For aid with either of these features, Google.com provides bit-by-bit tutorials on their Internet site. Letting that gorgeous gal that you find in the street walk on through is as well popular from a standard for a lot of males. From a business's viewpoint, there are also disadvantages to the use of street enrollment, as this kind of stock ownership could hinder a firm that is aiming to meet mandatory coverage demands to regulative firms. Excellent news is actually that you can obtain Economical Flights to San Francisco as it could be booked on the web off leading tour reservation or even travel portals. Conversely, Thunderbird is actually an open source service offered you by same people that make the Firefox web browser. For example, if you manage an adult products company and sell products like neck numbing spray, you are actually very likely to obtain consumers acquiring this post online compared to going to a traditionals store to get this. This is actually not even if of benefit as well as simplicity - that is actually given that this saves all of them the embarrassment of strolling in and also must buy the thing actually.
