The Cyberchase Homepage Through the Years: part 2 (January 6, 2005 through February 10, 2007)

I decided to pick up where I left off on my earlier post documenting the Cyberchase homepage over the years. Here is a capture from January 6th, 2005. The page is now back to normal after Starlight Night 2004. We now have an advertisement for "Cyberchase: The Quest".

On January 30th, 2005, we got the Valentines Day design again. Cyberchase had wrapped Season 3 in December of 2004, and they wouldn't start airing Season 4 until April, so I suppose they didn't have anything new to promote just yet. I only just noticed that Matt is holding a flower as part of this artwork. I'm a bit surprised that neither of the girls are holding anything.

They went back to advertising Cyberchase: The Quest by February 20, 2005.

On April 6th, 2005, Digit started advertising "Know Your Dough", which was all about teaching children about money management.

This capture from June 28th, 2005 shows an advertisement for "Quest 2: Race for Radopolis".

On July 21, 2005, we got this promotion for Hacker's secret.

This was referring to the main part of the "Transformatron Story Arc", as it discussed the four episodes where The Hacker was assembling the Transformatron. This was also where Slider was reunited with his dad.

I may do a separate post talking about the promotional content, as it is no longer on the PBS Kids website, but I have recovered most of it for the FlashPoint Archive Project. Unfortunately, that video preview was in RealPlayer, and those files are lost now. But, the rest of it is now preserved.

By August 7th, 2005, the "Hacker's Secret" promotion was gone. At that point they didn't have any advertisement in the bottom right corner. Fun fact, the file names refer to this bottom-right-corner advertisement as a "bug", regardless of what was being advertised. This would have been in reference to bottom-right-corner station IDs that you would see on television channels.

I found a capture from September 30th, 2005 where they re-worked the page. The background is the same, but they've added new screens, kicked out Buzz and Delete, and now we get a count-down for new episodes, which are given a more prominent place. There is also a mention of a contest for 2005. It looks like another Intel partnership where winners would get laptop computers, similar to the 2004 contest. I need to dig around and see what can be retrieved from that and make a separate post.

It's October 13th, 2005, and we get a Halloween version of the site. It looks like they just recycled it from last year. It is a bit of a shame, as I liked the new screen arrangement.

And then, when November 2nd, 2005 rolled around, we are back to the advertisement for Cyberchase: The Quest.

Here we see a capture from December 5th, 2005, and its a little bit confusing. The kids are all dressed up in their winter wear, and we have Cybersite Penguia as our backdrop. It looks nice until you start thinking about it.

At first, I thought the kids had lugged the terminals and computer screens out there for this winter photoshoot. But then I saw the whole-ass balcony was also out there. How would they get that all that way to Penguia? Portal? Why would Motherboard agree to that? Was she in a particularly silly mood? And why were Buzz and Delete invited to this photoshoot? I think this is a Star Trek Holodeck type of situation where they haven't left the original room, and they are just simulating Penguia.

And now, we have this capture from December 10th, 2005, where Bianca makes a cameo to announce the winners of the 2005 contest. I don't think the kids have noticed her yet. Otherwise, they would be very surprised.

And now, it is January 18th, 2006, and we get a promotion for Cyberchase Super Science coming in 12 days. I don't remember what this was off the top of my head.

It is now February 2nd, 2006. The winter theme is gone, and the screens have been shifted around again to advertise "Cyberchase: The Quest 3" (the top left Cyber-beast), and "Cyberchase Super Science".

This was an initiative that focused on kids designing, creating, and customizing things. This is something else that I need to make a separate post on at some point, depending on what I am able to recover. I can see that we have a link to "Cyberspace News Issue #3", which is a little confusing. The "Hacker's Secret" promotion gave us an un-numbered issue of "Cyberspace News", which I assume was Issue #1. I don't remember seeing an issue #2 anywhere. I need to look into that.

This capture from April 10th, 2006, shows the "Know Your Dough" advertisement has returned. Maybe the kids spent too much money on the screens and needed a refresher.

An June 15th, 2006, we get a promotion for "My Cyberchase Summer", pushing aside the Cyberchase Super Science promotion. This new promotion does feature The Hacker, and he would do something like that. This section had a list of the different episodes that were going to air during the summer of 2006, and they included activities to go along with them. Maybe I'll make a separate post all about this section later.

It is now September 25, 2006. They finally kicked The Hacker off the screen and replaced him with a promotion for "My Big Idea".

This was an initiative where parents could submit videos of their children working on inventions. This page talks about the invention videos being put up on the website and potentially aired on TV. The TV airing would have been part of "Cyberchase: My Big Idea", which was a two-hour special hosted by Harry and Bianca. The special used four episodes aired in a row, and Harry and Bianca would show up in-between them to talk about inventions and show the clips of the kids. I need to see if this is still around somewhere.

Here we go. It is October 23rd, 2006, and the site has had a major redesign. They had been serving Flash games for years now, but now the homepage interface is all Flash. Additionally, the kids get idle animations. I can post a still image, but that can only show so much when the whole point is that the site is full of animations now. This particular page is advertising the new episodes coming in February, the character gallery where they put artwork submitted by viewers, a Starlight Night theme, and an advertisement for "Cyberchase: The Quest.

Uh oh! Buzz and The Hacker have gotten into wherever this place is. If we don't count The Hacker appearing on a screen or advertising bug, I think this is the first time The Hacker has shown up "for real" on the homepage. Maybe the Cybersquad should do something about that.

Chapter 7: The End

Life's been good.

This morning i saw a tiktok video where a girl told the public that her therapist said if your first 2 years of college is worse, then the next 2 years will be amazing or vice versa. I agree.

Here i am, sitting in my sister's room writing about how amazing my last 2 years of college starting from 2022. Spesifically in the chapter 7.

In this chapter, i came back to Bogor in July 2023 for a skill competency test after finishing my first internship. It was a rough week but I passed. I started to join my friend group from freshman year that I've been avoiding in 2021, we studied together, we even `idid sleepover.

Starting from August, I did my second internship for another 6 months in Jakarta. I met Mba Sheryl and Natasya that moment.

In the end of 2023, I met Salma, my JPTB group friend from Klaten. I got to have quality time with Halida, my highschool chairmate, and Ina, my highschool bestfriend the other day. I hung out with Daffa and Qaani too, my Magfood buddies. What feels more magical is i got the chance to meet Sandra, my long-lost childhood friend for the first time after dozen years.

I moved to Bogor after finishing the internship. I moved in to a new house with a girl from my major that I've never befriend with. It happened randomly and we clicked well.

In the end of February, I took Rani to Jakarta. There, we met Abey for the first time. Yes, its the Rani and Abey I talked about in my blog post when I was a child. The Amanda Atma Pamabel and the Amalia Maharani Izzati. We didn't plan to spend 3 days together but we did. It was purely the happiest moment after a long time. I got to introduce my boyfriend to my long distance bestfriend too.

At the beginning of March, me and my college group friend went to Bandung for vacation. It happened spontaneously with short time of preparation. Lots of fun and good picts.

Ramadhan comes, me and my kostmate named Putri (the girl from my major) decided to sell food in front of the house. I provide pudding i made myself and donut. I started small business too with Qaani and Adin (selling donuts) to earn money.

I begin to do sports like yoga, running, and badminton. Me and my boyfriend started to be invited for badminton together with my JMP friends. Now, Adam and I have been together for 2 years, we celebrate our 2nd anniversary right in 23rd of March with Nasi Kandar, chocolate drink, and deep talk at Bhumi. That night was my last night in Bogor chapter 7 before heading to Banjarmasin the next day.

Last, I finally got my dream phone and feel the love my parents gave me. My siblings welcomed me cheerfully.

By coming back home, I have officially closed the 7th chapter of my college life. Next month, i will go back for my thesis seminar (i'm on my final semester and doing skripsi) and the graduation preparation. I guess next chapter will be my last chapter of uni.

Life's getting good, surprisingly. Of course after the hardest first 2 years i experienced. I manage to handle the newest version of myself, and I have acknowledge another colour of my life.

My 2019 in Review: The Triumphs, The Obstacles and The Lesson

January, it is the first month of the year but it seems like it is in the middle of the year. It was one of the hardest month of the year for me because of the problems that we faced together with my family. Even though we are facing a huge obstacles it is not a hindrance to stop our dreams and goals in life instead we make it as the reason why we are keep fighting. In this month also, I met those people that I can trust in small and in big things. People that knows how to manage my moods and everything, in this month it proves me that if someone will leave there's someone will come.

On the next month which is the month of February, it was one the month that I can't forget, because we have our family day in this month. I can't call it as family day because I come at school all by myself. It is not new to me because every year I have no parents that is present in every family day, I'm always alone in every family day. And also we celebrate the valentines day at school together with my classmates and schoolmates. We enjoyed the moment because we all know that it will never be happen again next year because we are graduating students next year and we are aware that we can't attend the valentines day celebration next year because instead of having valentines day celebration we will have our prom.

March, it was a very stressful month because we need to complete and pass our projects on time, also, I can't forget the month of March. Our teacher in General Chemistry told us to make an invention that connects to our topics from the first semester to second semester. We are having a hard time to make our group project in General Chemistry, our group is the lucky one because our teacher is always rejecting our project, that was the reason why we didn't take our exam on the scheduled date. While we are doing our project at the lounge area the teachers are calling us because we are needed at the gymnasium for the moving up ceremony of Grade 7,8,9 and 11. After the ceremony, we go back at the lounge area and we continue our project and we passed it to her but of course she rejected it again, we told her that we will pass our project tomorrow and thanks God she agreed. Early in the morning we go back at school and we pass our project and we are so grateful because she accepted it and we took the exam.

April, the month that I will treasure the most, in this month, I visited my school when I was junior highschool. It was the month that I visited the clinic of my doctor at San Pedro. It is also the month that we hang out together with my classmates at the resort in Tacurong. The month of april is very memorable for me because our parents allow us to have some fun with my classmates, we are all happy because we see each other at the resort. We enjoy the moment when we go there because we all know that we can never bring the memories back.

Before 5:00pm, we decided to leave the resort because we are all afraid that some of our classmates will scolded by their parents because it is late at night yet we are still at the resort. We arrived at Esperanza at exactly 6:54 pm, instead of going home at our own houses we decided to spend our night at Gazebo and we will pack our things tomorrow morning. So we checked in at Gazebo and we make it as a memorable night for us, instead of sleeping, we shared a lot of horror stories while eating popcorn, nachos and many more and we didn't notice that it is 4 o'clock in the morning and only five out of nineteen are still awake at that time. 5am in the morning we decided to nap because we also need an energy, and after a couple of hours we decided to go home, that was the memorable one of the year

May, the fifth month of the year, this month, I'm at Davao and I am spending my vacation together with my family. May 10, we packed up our things and we travelled Kauran from Davao. May 11, we attended the birthday of my cousin, and she's very happy that I attended to her birthday. May 15, it was the feast day of our saint, Saint Isidore the farmer. We cheer our basketball team in their championship.

June, the sixth month of the year and the most awaited month of the year because it is the opening of another school year. And of course I woke up early so that I won't be late on the first day of class, im so excited to see my classmates and my friends and share my own experience during my vacation. Of course, In the month of June, we always have an acquaintance party where we can meet a new friends. In this party, we are having fun with my friends, we're enjoying the night like there's no tomorrow, we enjoyed the party so much because we all know that it will never be happen again. That's why we really enjoy the night until the last hour of the program.

July, the seventh month of the year, it was the month of the fruits and vegetables. In this month, we are preparing for Adusay, Zumba and many more, as a member of Adusay, we always spend our time for our practices. We always keep in our mind that it is our last Adusay in this institution. It was so unforgettable because even though we didn't win atleast we know to ourselves that we did our best to win the contest. We did all our best that's why we didn't feel any regrets at last.

August, the eighth month of the year, it is also our last to celebrate our Buwan ng Wika in this institution. As we celebrate Buwan ng wika, we have also a competitions like Sabayang Pagbigkas, Folk Dance, Sabayang Awit and many more. We did our best in every practice, because we don't want to disappoint our teachers who gave their full support to us, who sacrifice just to give what we need and what we want. So when the day of buwan ng comes, we are all ready to perform because we all know that we can make our performance perfect. When the announcement of winners, we can't believe it, because all of our hardships, and sacrifices are worth it.

September, the most unforgettable and memorable month, because we defend ou title as a defending champion during the Notre Dame Day, Battle of the festivals. Before we have our Annual Retreat we take our exams first, after our exams I immediately packed up my things so that I can go to the retreat house together with my classmates. I prepared my things the night before so that it will not be hassle for me because we will go to Digos early in the morning. Our call time is before 5am and we're complete before it turns to 5am in the morning, then we headed our way to our destination. We arrived there at exactly 9:27 am, brother John told us to roam around first and enjoy the rest of our stay at the retreat house. We enjoyed a lot at the retreat house and after 3 days and 2 nights staying at the resort we enjoyed it a lot.

After our last session at the retreat house we immediately proceed to our next venue which is at the White Haven. We have a hard time to get there because of the situation of coaster, at exactly 5:47, we arrived at the White Haven. We swim at the beach, we enjoy it because it will be the last and it will not happen again in the future. We also play a cards like, 1234 pass, tongits, lucky nine, first three, heart attack and many more. At exactly 8am we headed our way to Gensan for our Educational tour. U

October, the tenth month of the year, it is the month of the Holy Rosary ,everyday we used to pray the Holy Rosary in front of the Statue of Mama Mary. And also, in the month October we celebrated the Boy's day and we cheer our contestant. We also screamed because all you can see in the eyes of our contestant which is our classmate is the eagerness to win. But our contestant didn't win but its okay, because we all know that he did his best just to win this kind of competition.

November, this month is the saddest month for me, because this month I always feel alone even though im with my friends and I think this month is a suicidal month for me. Because I tried to kill myself slowly but with the help of my friends I realized that they value and cared for me. I'm always sad because I always missed my grandparents where I used to tell my problems. In this month also, we celebrate our 1st and last feast day, we played a lot of parlor games and we also won that's why we save ourselves by cleaning our classroom. But we also helped the cleaners even though we are not assigned to clean it, but we just wanted to help them in cleaning the room and besides all of us used the room that's why we helped them.

December, this is the last month of the year and it is also an unforgettable one and in this month is our christmas party. I know it is not that enjoyable compared to our feast day but it still make our christmas party memorable. This month also, I spend my christmas vacation with my family and we also have our family gathering and also we have our exchange gifts. And I spend my new year with my whole family and Im hoping that Love will always be present in our family.
