Since we are talking about married Damian and Jon I wanna expand on a old concept of mine.

The fact that kryptonians age much slower than humans and the fact that if Damian and Jon spent their life together then Jon would have to watch Damian slowly age and wither away. Whole time he’s trying to help Damian move to place to place on their farmhouse because he’s aging but not feeling the physical restrictions that comes with his years and Damian is still so full of pride that he shoos off Jon when he’s trying to help him.

Some people were like “he’ll throw Damian into a Lazarus Pit” I actually disagree. Damian most likely wouldn’t be afraid of death like his grandfather and especially wouldn’t want to mirror him in cheating it. He’d embrace death as it came because he spent his years happily by his beloved’s side… not even getting into the angst of Jon having to hear Damian’s heart get weaker and even hear it as it stops and Damian passes.

Also, the level of being emotionally attached to the love of your life and being someone who’s heightened in every sense hearing and seeing every detail of your spouse’s body shutting down and not being able to stop it like your life’s work of crime fighting has instilled in you to do but you have to let him go, he’s ready and you can’t take that away from him.

So there you are an industrutible man who has now found you’ve been destroyed and have to live without the person your every sense has grown so irrevocably accustomed to.

So Damian and Jon spend years over sixteen together. Jon calls him “Dame” which means wife. Jon and Damian practically live there. Jon calls him honey. They are raising a child. Damian has a slightly offhanded joke that has sexual implications towards Jon. They fight constantly over nothing. Damian is a stressed asain mom to Jon’s deadbeat dad. The writers have to actively make them seem more like family because THEY ARE AWARE of it’s my two dad implications. They infer that they are together throughout the multiverse and that they will always share their life with the other. AND to top it all off they implied that they weren’t straight and had this offly intimate and romantic line to the other.
