i don't know if i'm the only one but i've often wondered exactly how hard it was to convince julian mcmahon to stick around for season five. they took his character, a feared powerful half demon and made him into the butt of the joke and the whole joke was basically ha ha look at this lovestruck fool obsessing and suicidal because he's got nothing to live with but can't die. ain't that funny? like how the fuck did the writers sell that to julian is my question
i find the entirety of season five just so goddamn insulting to cole's character. hell the fact that he got possessed by the source and this was treated as him turning evil instead of a shitty situation that got out of hand. like it wasn't bad enough he was villified for something that he wasn't even in control of half the time they couldn't even just vanquish the dude, they dragged it on and ridiculed him. i hate it here
lol. i mean. yeah. i really. like. it's like. like okay we all know cole was a fan favorite right and he & phoebe were really meant to like. be the sex appeal to the show no one else was really filling that role they were charmed's Sexy Couple tm. so like. in a sense i get the notion ab wanting to keep him around. because everyone loves him! he's bad boy! he adds this dangerous edge love balancing on a knife's point stuff like that. so like. that being said. u wanna keep him around. i just like Do Not Get how you opt to keep him around Like That. tbh. as w all things. i am blaming brad kern. i think it all really started to tank s4 (well, with mortal cole, but like) with source cole. that was bad, but i know it was part of the push to have like long form season drama character driven plots conflict between the sisters themselves it just like. sucked ass and balls imo. like i mean the fact they had to do the source as a possession just so they could get demon cole and lover cole,,, i mean it speaks to how stupid it was. the fact that u wanted cole to be a villain So Bad but the only way to do it was like. possession? sign that u should not do that like. like. like. i don't know how we're supposed to feel ab that.
and then. the vanquish. not sticking. i think like. i think they probably had the vague idea that cole having a mortal soul would not be able to be vanquished properly right? like. demons get destroyed into nothingness, but the human part of him lives, so i think they probably knew that was what they were going to do, that's what they sold to jmm and like. we sowed those seeds in the s4 finale w his ghost whispers and materialization. so i think like. they knew they wanted to Not Kill Him because he was such a fan favorite. maybe there was an intention to do a will they won't they variant of phole? and then. of course. there was the whole idea of paige cole, which, as the rumor goes, was meant to kick of in the s5 pilot, but both julian and rose shut it down. but i feel like. assuming that's true (which i 100% do assume that's true absolutely and i'm not endorsing it i don't think it would have been good or well written or whatever but like. 👀. you know?) but yeah. assuming that's true, i feel like that piece really speaks to what their designs for cole were: man meat. he was meant to be their male sex appeal and they weren't going to be picky about the narrative itself as long as he was still kicking.
but like honestly? i mean i shouldn't have to say this it's a given: it's not enough to just put your sexy man in front of a camera and call it a day like imo even a man who is not sexy can be made appealing through the power of the narrative. like, to level with you, i never really ever shipped phole nor found cole attractive at all like ever, but i can see like the fucking support beams you know i can see the infrastructure on which this whole thing can you know take on a life of its own in the earlier seasons because they very consciously put it there!! people shipped it for a reason n not just because they were two people standing next to each other on a tv screen i mean hello almost sinking a dagger in her heart but can't do it sends her away back to her sisters because he can't act out on his evil plan!! that's something!!!! that's so very something and they gave us Nothing they gave us nothing in the later seasons. and still expected it to fly. like. tbh julian was probably just like unwittingly duped like dragged along for the ride s5 which is likely why he was vanquished halfway through because i'd imagine roughly three episode in he went okay! um. what's this? guys? what's this? and then they said cole<3 you know he like knew he had to get the hell outta dodge.
anyways. if i were to resuscitate phole in s5. which like. to level w u. i wouldn’t. because they would need a lot of one-on-one screentime and we already spent so much of s4 splitting up the sisterhood in the name of phole i wouldn’t really want to continue with that per se But. if i were. this ask is getting long it’s under a cut
something something demon of the week something something realms the point is cole is there when he very much shouldn’t be and like. he and phoebe get knocked into a different plane. so their bodies are fine and at the manor, but their minds are elsewhere and they need to solve whatever it is in order to get back. and we’ll say there’s a fuckin deadline because the girls need the power of three and right now they are sealed off from accessing it. and you know phoebe’s pretty fuckin pissed with cole because you know. he dragged her down to hell and she almost gave birth to the antichrist. actually source’s heir might be fun to keep around in this au idk. the point is phoebe’s pissed at cole and cole’s pissed at phoebe because phoebe’s pissed at him but he literally didn’t have control over himself in that era and he’s not getting the space he needs to justify himself because phoebe keeps stepping over him. but they gotta work together to get out of here. and were kinda doing enemies to lover 2.0 but like now they have History. of course we’ve gotta do a moment where cole has idk done something normal and phoebe’s so riled up that she does something rash and almost dies cole saves her like catches her bridal style or something faces inches apart breathing heavy and there’s a moment. like a we’re back in early s4 moment. which phoebe immediately breaks from and like walls going flying up but just for a moment there we see it it’s obvious: she’s still in love with cole. which then segues into an argument because like. cole wasn’t sure. right? he wasn’t sure if phoebe now just genuinely hated him. but now he knows right he knows better now so why are you acting like this? why are you taking every opportunity to shut me down to shut me out? why are you acting like you hate me when you know that’s not true right that whole thing to phoebe who gets the Classic because i do hate you. i hate you for what you did to me for what you did to my family and i hate you because i loved you so much and you destroyed me and i hate you because no matter how hard i try that love is still there and i know that for a second if i stop hating you i’m going to love you just like before and you can destroy me again and i hate myself because i’d let you because i love you. you know? big speech. big reveal. i have No Idea what piper and paige are up to right now. the point is. after this big confession we get the lull the cards are on the table what the fuck do we do now which is when cole Finally gets to opportunity to say he was actually possessed by the source and manipulated by the seer and the only thing that kept him holding on was his love for her and after she became queen of hell after he saw what the source had done to her he knew it had to end he doesn’t hold it against her for vanquishing him right this is where we exonerate all wrongs we’re just saying anything bad that has happened ever? scrub it. it’s the source’s fault. cole has no resentment against phoebe. he loves her a healthy, normal, non-possessive amount, so much so He Loves Her So Much he let her kill him and like honestly would probably do it again. idk and then they make out or something. and then they’re out of whatever plane they were in by the end of the episode. And Then we get a buddy cop episode with paige and cole where they bond and also sort through everything that happened there. slowly but surely. and then we do a real phole wedding a super small affair in the manor lowkey bc i hated their wedding episode it blowed we give them a good one. wallah <3

All of My Wrongs - Chapter One
Tumblr media
Pairing: Topper x OC and Rafe x OC
Summary: As her first day in the OBX comes to a close, she finds herself getting to know one of the two boys. She begins to analyze him and articulate certian feelings and she likes the dynamic they have going on. Yet, she’s still cautious. She doesn’t want to just dive into the first friendships she’s ever had.
Word Count: 2.7K
A/N: Sorry if these first chapters come off as boring. Its going to be a slow moving fic in order for me to really build connections with the characters. I really like it though and I hope you do too... Let me know what you think! I really want some feedback on this...
___________________________________________________
I sat on the edge of Toppers bed and stared at the two boys in front of me. They put off extremely different auras. Topper was softer, less guarded than Rafe. However, he was much sadder in a way. He seemed troubled and anxious all the time. Rafe just seems frustrated with the world. He had tense muscles and rage in his veins. Both of them let their flaws surface. They didn’t know how vulnerable that made them. They didn’t know how their flaws could be used against them.
“So, Aurora,” Rafe said. “You never answered me. What’s your story?”
“What do you want to know?” I asked. Rafe took a seat next to me on the bed. He pretended to make a thinking face and if my eyes could roll any harder, they would’ve. He told me to tell them whatever I was willing to. That was so vague, where do I begin? Is this how normal people make friends? By asking vague questions and judging their answers.
“If you’re so interested in her, can you take her back to your house? My mom will kill me if she found out I snuck a girl in,” Topper said. “Especially if that girl isn’t Sarah.”
Topper basically shoved us out of his front door and I sighed. I knew my parents were going to kill me for not being at home in the morning, but Skip did lock me out… I listened to Rafe ask me if I was coming. I scoffed and ran through the rain to his car. I slipped in and shivered a bit. His car was messy and filled with fast food wrappers. My nose wrinkled at the smell of gym clothes in the backseat. He apologized upon seeing the look on my face and told me that he wasn’t expecting company tonight. He laughed and asked if I was hungry. I felt my nose wrinkle up a little bit and wondered if he was going to offer me a leftover, but instead we pulled into a McDonald’s. I hadn’t even noticed I was hungry until he mentioned something, but I also didn’t have any money.
“What do you want?” he asked. He glanced over at me and I told him I was fine. He continued to ask and told me it was on him. He didn’t seem like the handout type though and I couldn’t figure out if I wanted to be indebted to him or not. Finally, I gave in and told him I would take a mcnugget meal. “Was that so hard, buttercup?”
I rolled my eyes at his sarcastic tone and reached for the bag. He easily pulled it away before I could grab it though. This was a game to him. I could tell by the way his eyes stared at me. I felt my stomach rumble and crossed my arms over my chest. I didn’t like the fact that he thought he would toy with me. Usually, I wouldn’t be so irritated, but it was late. I was wet and tired, but more importantly, I was hungry. We pulled into his house and somehow it was even bigger than Topper’s. He snuck me up to his room, which was surprisingly neat compared to his car. I sat down at the desk and waited for him to give me my food, however, he only took out his and unwrapped it.
“Let’s play a game,” he said while taking a bite out of his burger. “You can have your food when you answer some questions for me, fair?”
“What do you want to know?” I asked again. This time he looked at me with intent. He asked me why I moved here and how we had money. It felt almost like a business inquiry more so than the beginning to a friendship. He was curious about my status and trying to figure out if I was a good addition to his inner circle. He was looking at me as if I was an investment. He opened his mouth to ask another question, but I interrupted.
“Are you aware that you give off a Chuck Bass vibe?” I asked. He asked me who that was. I asked him if he had ever seen Gossip Girl and he shook his head. He said it had “girl” in the title and therefore it wasn’t for him. The more I observed him the more I saw it though. The cold exterior that hid his deserve to be accepted or some other insecurity. He was definitely the type to put people down or push people away to cope with his own issues. “Don’t worry about it, Bass. Know this though, I’m no Blair Waldorf.”
He asked me if I gave everyone bad nicknames. I ignored him and asked him if I could have my food yet. He wasn’t done with his questions though. He asked me about why I moved so much. He asked me things that were a little deeper than the general get to know you questions. He wanted to know what I wanted after high school. He asked about my dreams. He asked me what made me insecure. He was trying to find my weaknesses. He was one step behind, because I had already figured out his.
“Rafe, can I please have my food? I'm really hung-” my words were cut off by a sneeze. I shivered as his ceiling fan blew cold air down on me. Even though I was in Topper’s sweatshirt, my shirt underneath and my shorts were soaked and freezing. His expression softened as he tossed me the bag. I opened it up and ate some cold fries. I watched as he rummaged through his drawers. I shoved a chicken nugget in my mouth as a pair of sweatpants smacked me in the face. He told me to change and walked out of the room. I let out a small laugh as I realized he was trying to be nice. I slipped out of my wet clothes and into his sweatpants. I removed my top and bra before sliding Topper’s hoodie back onto my smaller frame. I let out a yawn as I finished up my meal. I looked around and wondered if he had just left me here for the night.
Just as I was about to lay down on the bed in front of me, he waltzed back in with nothing but a towel around his waist. I covered my face, embarrassed, causing him to chuckle at my innocence. He closed himself in his closet to get changed as I tried not to think about his finely painted abs or how his hair looked wet. I had to admit that Rafe was handsome. He came back out in boxers and a t-shirt on. He plopped down on his bed and waited for me to lay down.
“Um… is there like a guest room I should go to?” I asked, nervously.
“You’re not as snarky now,” he pointed out. “Just lay down, I’m not gonna touch you. Well, not unless you want me too.” If I could smack that smirk off of his lips I would. I hesitantly got into bed, my mind swirling with all the thoughts about waking up next to a boy in the morning. I pulled the covers over me and tried to find warmth, but my skin still felt like ice. I shivered a bit and heard him sigh.
“C'mere,” he mumbled, opening his arms up a little bit. I looked at him and he let out another dramatic sigh. “It’s just for body heat. You can push me off whenever you feel like it. I just can't have you getting all sick in my house. It’s not like I’m into you or anything.”
I moved closer and his arms wrapped around me. I smiled knowing that this was his attempt at being nice. My body unconsciously cuddled closer into his chest. I breathed in the sweet smell of his body wash as he held me against him. Everywhere his body touched mine was burning now. It felt like flames against my skin.
“You’re weird…” he mumbled to me with a chuckle. I pushed at him a little bit. “Hey, not in a bad way… Just not in an Outer Banks way.”
“Sorry I don’t fit your standards,” I said sarcastically. I was used to not fitting in. That was nothing new to me, but when he said that, my heart sank more than usual. I wanted to fit in here. I wanted to stay here until I went to college.
“If you want to fit in, you have to come to Midsummers,” he said. I asked him what it was and in all honesty, it sounded like a nightmare. The rich kids and their families getting together to honor people for doing nothing? It sounded like a joke. “Trust me, you’ll hate it. But, if you wanna fit in, I’ll take you. Show you the ropes. You can be my plus one.”
“Okay,” I said, after thinking for a while. I glanced up at him and his eyes were closed. His face was so close to mine though. I squeezed my eyes shut and tried not to think about how I was cuddling with a boy I didn’t even know. I tried not to think about how I just agreed to see him again. Instead, I just kept my eyes closed and drifted off.
The next morning I woke up to the sound of his door opening. My heart leapt out of my chest as his arms tightened around me. He groaned as the light filled his room.
“Dude, were going to be late for our tee-time!” I heard a familiar voice say. “Holy shit, man. Hey Aurora… You coming golfing with us?”
I pushed Rafe off of me and sat up embarrassed. I greeted Topper and tried to ignore the embarrassment burning my checks. I told him I’d rather die than go golfing. He smiled as he looked back and forth between Rafe and I. I rolled my eyes and told him I had to use the bathroom. I walked down the halls when a girl popped out. She looked my age and she stopped in her tracks when she saw my sweatshirt.
“You must be the girl who was with my boyfriend last night,” she said, sizing me up. I let out a laugh as I recognized her from photos in the house. She must be Rafe’s sister and Topper’s girlfriend.
“Actually, I’m the girl who’s accompanying your brother to Midsummers,” I said firmly. I didn’t want her to see me as a threat. I watched as her face flushed with pink and her words then became flustered.
“O-Oh! I’m so sorry,” she said. She extended her hand. “I’m Sarah Cameron.” “Aurora Lansing,” I said. What was with everyone and handshakes here? She smiled at me and told me that she had to run, but it was nice to meet me. She seemed nice, but something about her gave me the impression that we wouldn’t get along very well. I went to the bathroom and made my way back to Rafe’s room. The boys were in there, waiting for me. I gulped, knowing that I was about to get my introduction into country club life.
I shifted uncomfortably as I say in the golf cart. My arms were crossed over my chest as I watched them joke around. I could name at least six different places I would rather be than at a golf course. I pulled awkwardly on the short skirt I was given and sighed. I narrowed my eyes on Topper. So, he was dating Rafe’s little sister. She seemed into him from the impression I got this morning, so why was he so worried? Then my eyes shifted to Rafe. I noticed that there were endless pictures of Sarah in the house, but how did that leave any room for him? I just couldn’t quite figure these two out.
“You having fun yet, buttercup?” Rafe asked. He leaned against the cart and swung his club a bit.
“Ha as if, Bass,” I muttered. “Why am I here?”
“So we can bond, obviously,” he said, with a chuckle. He threw his head back when he laughed. It made me smile. “So, do you have plans tomorrow?”
“No…” I said.
“Great, let’s go dress shopping for Midsummers. You're going to need my help. Plus you have to match my suit,” he said. I laughed when Topper yelled over that it was awful. I watched as Rafe’s expression changed. “Hey, buttercup. Can you go get me some water from the clubhouse? Just put it under Ward Cameron’s tab.”
I looked around to see what he saw, but there was nothing there. I nodded and drove off. I parked outside of the building and looked around. This was nothing like what I had ever done before. Usually I would be helping with hurricane relief right now, but instead I was partying with the upper class. It felt a little wrong to be honest. I wondered what my parents would think when I got home. I grabbed a water and told them to put it under Rafe’s dad’s tap. They didn’t even think twice.
On my way back, I was driving down the path when I saw a boy on the ground. I slammed on the breaks and got out, helping him sit up. He was bleeding pretty badly.
“Are you okay? Can you walk?” I asked. He looked at me with a confused glance. He told me he was fine. I wondered why he was being so cold. “Hold on, I’ll go get a first aid kit!”
He stopped me though. He told me that he didn’t need my help. He dismissed me quickly, getting up on his own. He told me he did take handouts and that I should go back to sipping lemonade by the pool. He walked away quickly as I stared at his back, jaw dropped. I was just trying to be nice. I scoffed at the interaction and slipped back onto the cart, trying to find Rafe and Topper again. They were finishing up their hole.
“Took you long enough,” I heard Rafe say. “Did you get lost?”
“No…” I muttered. “There was this boy on the ground. He was really curt with me, but I was just trying to help him…”
Rafe asked me what he looked like. He asked me if he looked like a golfer or a worker. I told him neither. The boy was in everyday clothes. He was in a brownish/red shirt and swim trunks. Rafe sighed and sat down next to me. He told me that I had probably seen a Pogue. He told me about the island rivalry and how they always would pick fights with them. He told me the Kooks were the good guys.
“Us, Kooks, we work hard,” he said. “They’re jealous of us because we have money. Money that we’ve worked our asses off for.”
I didn’t know what to believe, but that boy was so rude to me for no reason. What kind of place was this? He told me not to worry about it or them. I sighed and nodded, watching them finish their round. I tried to push all the thoughts from my head, but I couldn’t.
When it was all over, the boys dropped me off at home. I walked in and was met by my parents. They stared at the outfit I had borrowed from Sarah and told them not to ask. I knew that wasn’t going to stop them though. I told them about how Skipper locked me out of the house and how I made some friends. I left out the part where I stayed the night at Rafe’s, but I filled them in. I told them about the island rivalry and Midsummers. They looked at me with an expression I’ve never seen before.
“It’s nice to see you breaking out of your shell, Rory,” my dad said. He was right. I was breaking out of my shell.

To follow up on my question about jrot's vision including Lexa. I find it hard to believe that where the show has ended up was what he had planned. With Lexa being so essential, (unless I'm reading this all wrong).
I feel like I’ve written about this already, but one more time:
One of the first big clues that they had no plan was when Javier Grillo Marxuach was asked about the Grounder language and how it was formed, and then how Grounder society could be organized around selecting a Commander by killing off the very rare Nightbloods. He could only opine off the cuff, because there was nothing in the show’s bible or history for it. JR never gave him anything. The language, he suggested, was because of radiation sickness. The conclaves were once more peaceful, he suggested. He didn’t know. Now we learn the language was all the invention of a child, Callie. This diminishes so much of the Grounder’s struggle and agency as to be beyond belief.
Same season we learn from Becca that nightblood was her invention and we see her travel to Earth with 11 or 12 vials of it. We saw her inject herself with one of them. The entire vial. In “Anaconda” in season 7, we learn from Callie that they were able to give nightblood to 2,000 people. 2,000 people Callie took with her to the outside to survive. If they were all nightbloods, just 94 years before Lexa’s death, some 72 before her birth (which means Lexa’s grandparents are among this group or the very first generation to be born on a radiation-soaked planet), nightbloods couldn’t have been that rare among the population. If their children were to survive this radiated world, they’d have to be born with Nightblood too. So...all of the children. And then all of their children. Or they’re dead. There is nothing to say Nightblood skips a generation or does anything but re-write the genetic formula for blood variation in human beings. All the children would have to have it. Or die. So how many lived? If only Nightbloods lived then...I’m not an expert on this, but even if you could argue in some other variation that enabled them to survive, it has never been discussed on the show. We’ve even seen Grounders sick with radiation poisoning (Luna’s clan). They die. Nightbloods don’t.
[It all makes me think of Spongebob Squarepants: Mr. Krabs serving glasses of water to his customers..who live in the ocean. Pool parties...in the ocean. Grounders surviving radiation only to die...of radiation]
But by the time Lexa’s generation rolls around, non-Nightblood Grounders are somehow magically surviving without it, on this radiation-soaked planet, less than 100 years after nuclear annihilation and fallout.
And how did the Sky people survive without the same blood alteration? No one really talks about that, it’s all just vaguely hinted at and assumed.
Vague, poorly-thought-out plot ideas are part of this show’s makeup.
Alycia Debnam-Carey never knew what the headgear or Lexa’s tattoos meant (and inadvertently caused a shitstorm with fans who should have taken it up questions of cultural appropriation with Rothenberg...who has “appropriated” from just about everything). If you saw JR’s tweets from before season 3, they were working on a back tattoo for her and what they ended up with was radically different from where they started. Now its been suggested further we’ll find out what the tattoos *really* meant, even though Lexa gave us a very plaintive explanation in season 3 that hinted about Luna, but nothing more significant.
[If the spoilers are right and we learn that Lexa never really understood anything the Flame was telling her, but was giving her “clues” to...this ridiculous attempt at building a conspiracy space time travel mythology askdj;id;joid...this robs her (and the Grounders in general) again, of her agency. Her choices are not her own. Her actions are not her own. She is a puppet of some unknown thing (the AI of the Flame, evolved? That’s my guess, but who the hell knows). That would be her retcon. The Commander was really just... a puppet. The final plot device.]
Moving on, how did Monty, a stoner geek with no experience in flying anything, figure out how to successfully program a damaged ship that he’d never been on before to avoid every sort of stellar impact and arrive at another planet safe and sound only 125 years later. What kind of engines were they? We’ll never really know, but we can safely assume he, Rothenberg, flew by the seat of his pants.
For a show that claims to be scifi, it utilizes a lot of magical thinking to get from point a to point b.
Shame no one found that Anomaly stone that was left behind in that bunker. No need for improbable and dangerous space travel.
But I’m going to guess, again, that Rothenberg didn’t have the idea for the stone back in season 4 when the bunker was found or season 5 after Wonkru had been living in it for six years.
But there will be a retcon explanation for that, too, maybe.

Hi! For the fic requests, I always find fics in which someone stands up for Freddie, and I'm kinda hoping to read always some fic in which the opposite happens: someone is talking shit about the band, or some of the band members, or they are in danger and it is Freddie who saves the day! Sorry if it's a bit vague😅 Thanks for your time, have a nice day!!
Author’s note: Hey! I really loved this request and it even made me emotional It is a bit large but I hope you guys like it! It is my first attempt and I tried my best.
Warnings: a bit of swearing
By the time of the late  ‘70s, Queen had become amazingly successful across the globe. Their gigs were well known for the extreme energy they were able to share with the crowd, as well as for the outstanding performances they served.
''People are still calling out our names, that's insane!'' said John right after the end of another concert. He still couldn't believe that the band had become one of the worlds biggest names. This seemed so unreal to him.  ''How are you guys, are you okay?'' he asked the others who at that time were getting backstage.
''I am overwhelmed'' Freddie answered, ''even though I'm a bit exhausted''.
He looked at Brian. He was sweeping his forehead with a towel as he was gently leaving his guitar in its case. He really cared very much about his Red Special baby. At the other corner of the room, was Roger, being still extremely energetic. He put his jacket on and fixed quickly his hair with his fingers. He was a handsome young man that every girl would want to have.
''Would you like to go have a drink somewhere?'' he asked the rest. John raised his shoulders,  he really wouldn't mind going anywhere if it meant that he would be with his friends.
''I'm in!'' said Freddie immediately.  ''Come on Bri, we're gonna relax after all!'' he tried to persuade Brian who seemed a bit bored.
''I don't know. In fact, I feel like something bad is going to happen if we go out now, '' he mumbled, but he already knew that his argument wasn't strong enough. ''Oh, come on now, nothing will happen, stop having silly worries!'' laughed Roger and teased his hair playfully. ''We'll have fun.''
Eventually,  they all went to a pub. Slightly recognizable among the rest of the customers, they ordered their drinks at the bar without getting disturbed by anyone.
Or almost anyone...
'Oh boy, you look so good, let me take you home tonight''  a girl said out of the blue, pointing out to Roger. She came closer to the band, holding a glass of beer and almost fell down, as she was attempting to walk properly. She was totally drunk. However, she started touching shamelessly Roger's back, trying to get his attention.
'' Uhm... who are you?'' he told her with embarrassment.  He looked at the others awkwardly, without knowing what to do. The only sure thing was that he needed some emergency help from them.
''I always wanted to do things to you, Roger Taylor. Now I've found you and I'm not gonna let you go!" she continued saying gibberish to him.
''That's enough, call her a taxi Freddie! Deacy and I are going to remove her'' said Brian, and Freddie did so.
''Okay young lady, leave my precious friend alone!'' John told her
''Noo, I don't want to! Roger's mine now!'' she continued screaming as the boys were trying hard to ward her off. Roger finally escaped from her hands and looked at her with a bit of disgust, as Brian and John were still holding her back.
''Well, I don't even know who you are and I'm sorry, but I ain't sleeping with you tonight sweetie, you're extremely drunk!'' he told her, trying to be polite at least.  He couldn't do anything but laugh nervously at the end though, to him this moment was far more than awkward. Thus, he left as quickly as possible and ran to find Freddie.
''So, you handsome guys won't take me home tonight either?'' she murmured and turned to Brian and John. She started rubbing herself on the last one's body with lust, as her feet were trembling.
''Take her Bri, what am I gonna tell to Veronica if anybody sees me like that?!'' said Deaky and almost threw the drunk girl to Brian, who felt completely embarrassed. The girl, being much more shameless than before, as soon as she felt Brian's hands keeping her, began to kiss him wherever she could. The situation was entirely out of hand.
''Fred, what the hell are you doing there? Where's her taxi?'' he yelled. Freddie and Rog came back to them, and even though they were also ashamed and worried, they couldn't help laughing with the whole circumstance.
''It should be here by now! Go out, I will pay. ''' responded Freddie. The other three went outside with the drunk lady still on their hands, who meanwhile, had started crying.
''Please, please, don't let me go, I want to stay with you, sleep with all of you!''
''It's dangerous here sweetheart, you are going home now!'' John replied.
''But...'' she tried to insist as soon as the taxi arrived.
''Get in!'' Brian demanded. ''We're sorry to do that but we can't let you stay in these terms. I hope to see you soon, sober!" he continued.
''I will sue all of you! You are really assholes, you cocky bastards! Shame on you, you can't do me the simple favor!'' she started yelling insanely.
''Please darling, get in!'' Freddie said more calmly.
''I will contact the press as soon as I get home!'' she carried on with her paranoia. When she finally agreed to get into the taxi, a huge relief sigh throttled out of their lungs.
''I told you that something was about to happen, '' whispered Brian, still in confusion.
''Do you believe she's going to sue us for real?'' asked Roger.
''Nah, she is too drunk to remember to do such a thing'' concluded Deaky. ''Isn't she Fred?''
''Of course. Relax everybody. Let's go back to the hotel.''
Next morning, Freddie woke up first. The phone in his room was ringing persistently. It was Miami and he was totally anxious.
''Freddie, what the hell did you all do last night?'' he asked upset,  as soon as Freddie picked the phone up.
''Last night? We were at the gig, of course, darling! '' he responded still sleepy.
''After the gig I mean. Have you read the press?
''Not yet, Miami, in fact, you just woke me up.''
''Fred, did Bri, Rog, and John rape a woman last night?'' Jim Beach asked disarmingly.
Rape? Freddie's mind was suddenly blown away. He couldn't remember such a thing. ''Of course not!'' was his first thought. His friends would never behave like that to anybody and he definitely knew that. He certainly knew that this news was fake!
Abruptly, he remembered everything about last night. This girl. She was shouting that she would contact the press. This was surely her job. Freddie felt like he was losing the world under his own feet. His soul brothers were in trouble, his own bandmates were now portrayed as awful creatures who would treat women like shit. He shouldn't let this happen. He had to do something but he didn't know what...
''Are you still there? Is it true? '' asked Beach. Freddie sighed and then he narrated everything, from the beginning. He felt so confused. Brian, John, and Roger didn't deserve to be attacked by some fake news a drunk woman had spread.
''Have you spoken to them yet, Miami?'' he asked.
''No, I wanted to talk to you first. But I'm sure they already know what's going on.''
Miami was right. The rest of the band had received thousands of calls from journalists who would die to select some extra info in order to have an article exclusivity. That incident had turned them inside out. There were already some people out there who were talking shit about the band, and this article made the situation even worse.
As soon as the night came, they all met backstage before another gig. But this time, everything was so different. Roger wasn't in the mood for giggling around, neither John was smiling like before. Brian was anxiously walking in the room, without being able to relax. And Freddie could only look at them with his heart aching.
''Guys...'' he tried to speak to them, but he took the same answer from three different mouths. ''Not now Fred.''
It was time for them to get on stage. A strange feeling was all over them. How could they perform in front of so many people who now considered them as rapists, even though they weren't? Roger started playing the intro of ''We will rock you'', but it was clear that he hadn't the same energy. He wouldn't even look at the crowd, even though people were cheering to them. Brian still seemed so concerned, while Deaky was standing still, without breaking into one of his cute dances. Freddie knew that this wasn't Queen. Not at all.
He held the microphone tight in his hand and surprisingly he decided not to sing. He took a deep breath and glanced again at his bandmates before he started talking.
''Hello everyone..!'' he said energetically, and the crowd started applauding. The other three had no idea of what he wanted to do, so they just stopped touching their instruments and let him continue.
''I know that most of you were ready to sing with me. I ensure you that this will happen, but a bit later, because now I have something really important to tell you, my darlings. '' he carried on, causing everyone's query.  Deaky, Roger and Brian remained silent, and even though they didn't know a thing about what he had in mind, put their trust in Freddie, who was ready to save the day.
''So, I am sure that some of you, beautiful people, have read some strange things about us on the newspaper today, right?''
The crowd responded with a boo. Not for the band - but for the press-. This made the four of them grin. It was more than comforting knowing that people were still supporting them at that time. For sure, their fans were more dedicated than they thought.
''Hey, you wanna know something? I have been known these dudes for such a long time. They are my brothers. Yesterday night we were all together at a pub celebrating our friendship when a drunk lady approached us. She was in a dangerous condition so Brian, Roger, and Deaky had her home by a taxi. These boys might be asses sometimes, but no, darlings, they would never hurt anyone in any way. I will let nobody talk shit again about my family - because they are my family. - You know, they have been there for me uncountable times. The less I can do now, is to stand up for them here, in front of all of you and in front of the bloody press''. Freddie finished his monologue and looked at his friends. They couldn't believe in their eats. They suddenly had felt so relieved, so loved, thanks to Freddie who defended all of them at once. Most importantly, they all felt so thankful.
''I am with you. Everything will be fine''. he added and glimpsed at them.  John, Roger, and Brian wiped some tears of joy as they were now getting closer to Freddie. The band merged in a group hug, as the crowd burst into cheers again.
''I love you guys,'' Freddie whispered during this warm embrace.
''We love you too Fred. Let's do this now!!'' they all answered. They were now ready to let the show go on, as a Queen show deserves to.
