Sometimes I wonder why I have such an incredibly massive weakness to the Found Family troupe.
And then I promptly remember that I grew up binging Fairy Tail over and over. It’s after that realization that I don’t have to wonder anymore.
Like I know that a loooot of good anime has come out since Fairy Tail was relevant; but in my opinion, it still firmly sits as one of the greatest anime of all time. Obviously opinions aren’t factual so naturally others might disagree, but for me Fairy Tail is just on another level of god-tier untouchable great anime.
I deadass adore Fairy Tail y’all. Like I struggle to even put into words how much I absolutely fuckin adore it. The amount of emotional attachment I have to it is frankly surprising even for me sometimes. I’ll just be thinking about some random shit one day and then have a tangentially related thought regarding Fairy Tail and then its gg, I have to go binge it once more.
This is definitely not an invitation to any fellow Fairy Tail fans to talk about Fairy Tail with me I swear-
no but fr guys i need to talk about fairy tail please-

XX - JUDGMENT: Does your character belief in karma? Why or why not?
XXI - THE WORLD: What does your character think of enlightenment? Does your character consider themselves enlightened?
[for atreus. silly words go brr]
OUGHHHHHHBNHHHHHHHHNHHHH silly words go brrrrrrt
JUDGEMENT: Ignoring the fact that the Hindu/Buddhist/Jaina concept of karma wouldn't be known in Midgard aside from very specific people (i.e Mimir, Odin, definitely Tyr at the very least), I think Atreus kinda does but also kinda doesn't believe in karma, at least in the general sense of cause and effect.
Because like. He's had to deal with so so so much shit, it ultimately means that he's definitely seen and felt the consequences of actions in general; both his own actions, and the actions of other people. The biggest example of this would of course be Odin, as he's the main and central antagonist of the Norse arc of the games, and his actions have had lasting effects on virtually all of the realms in his quest to obtain infinite knowledge and to stop Ragnarok.
I could go into a whole tirade with another really good example, Magni and Modi, but then it'd just be a super long post and I don't want to turn this ask into basically a minor analysis of one specific part of a game lol
THE WORLD: Enlightenment is probably something of an interesting topic for Atreus, especially considering Odin, who as previously mentioned has had a massive influence in the setting during both the past and the present, who sought what you could probably consider as 'ultimate enlightenment' (in the form of literal infinite knowledge), while also doing everything and anything he could to reach his goal, even if it meant actively hurting other people including his own family.
Would Atreus say that he's enlightened? Probably not. Sure, he's definitely grown and changed as a person, but I think that's probably also someone who he wants to be; someone who is constantly learning from his experiences, and changing for the better because of it. Odin, meanwhile, stagnated in a single-minded pursuit of knowledge and power. Thus, I could see him being a little bit apprehensive of the general concept of enlightenment.

Listening to a bunch of music from the early 2000s, aka most of my teenagerhood because I'm old, is 1) giving me flashbacks of dancing inappropriately in my high school gym to lyrics like "sweat drop down my balls" and "hold the head steady I'ma milk the cow" and "she only comes when she's on top", and 2) giving me some really stupid fic ideas and fic title ideas.

I remember Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright!! That game introduced me to Ace Attorney because I LOVED the Layton games--it resulted in me loving both series and setting out to collect every Layton game, which I just did a year or so ago!!
Sorry, I just. Love Layton games (a character from Unwound/Lost Future has been a fave of mine since 2017 or so) so whenever I see someone mention the series I get all giddy and want to interact a bit asdfghjkl

HI HI HI I'M WAVING!!!!! PL vs PW ENJOYERS HELLOOOOOOO
actually I came across these games at the same time and played them simultaneously until I realized there's a crossover game which pumped me even if I was still new to the games! (played both like at 2017 haha) But Layton captivated me more than AA because I'm a big fan of the music, puzzles and the steampunk genre especially in like, Unwound future? WHICH IS ALSO MY FAVORITE INSTALLMENT YAAAAASSSS followed by Miracle Mask!! (randall 🥺🥺🥺)
NOO I DON'T MIND AT ALL!!! I'm such a big fan of Layton so it makes me so excited when I find another person who enjoys it!! It's a little more underrated compared to Ace Attorney which is still thriving really well c:
I mean sure Layton made me feel like a dumbass with its puzzles and me throwing hint coins at the most obvious questions BUT DAMN I HAD FUN I DON'T CARE SJDBDBDBDNDJSJ
