Boppy oneshot ft. Soft Poppy

Context: Bea and Poppy, engaged, living on Bea's farm. One day Bea wakes up earlier than usual and sees that Pops isn't beside her, so she wanders around the house/cottage to come to the living room where Poppy is doing her makeup. Bea sneaks up behind her and hugs her from behind, Poppy starts at her sudden presense and her lipstick is smeared. She is mad, so Bea laughs and runs away, leaving Poppy annoyed behind. This goes on for somedays, everytime poppy is annoyoned, and mc is slightly surprised that she doesn't try to stop her from ruining her makeup routine. Somedays it's with haywire hairsprays, sometimes with powder, but no more lipstick accidents. Until oneday, Bea sneaks up behind her and hugs her again. She hasn't been doing that for a while so poppy had let her guard down. So poppy was taken my surprise, and ended up smearing her lipstick again. Bea laughs, and doesn't run away this time, but Poppy is slightly disappointed, unlike usual. Anyways, Bea notices that, and she is slightly concerned. She turns poppy around, i wish I could hold a stylus to save my life so that i could draw a fanart but i can't soooo, just imagine a wooden house bg like the one in LoA, and imagine disheveled poppy looking up at Bea from the opposite sides of a couch.

Bea POV

I was a little concerned as she looked slightly more upset than usual.

"Pops?", I asked gently, brushing her cheek with my thumb with concern. She shook. her head, and stood up abruptly.

"I'm getting late", she said in a voice she generally doesn't use with me. She was about to exit the room when I crossed the distance between us and linked an arm, around her waist, pulled her up against me. What with her attitude, I expected her to push away, but to my shock, she sighed and rested her head on my shoulder.

At this point, I was near alarmed, and I hugged her tighter.

"Poppy? Is everything okay?", I asked frantically. She was quiet as I gently massaged her back.

"Will you....will you still love me as much after we are married?"

Her voice was so quiet, and laced with uncharacteristic uncertainty and vulnerability, that I was taken aback. And I took my fair time in answering.

After a quiet, tense moment, I sighed, holding her closer.

"I cannot predict the future Poppy. Cannot predict what will happen of us. But yes, atleast in this moment, I will promise you that I will love you. Despite everything, I will love you. I don't know how much of it I can keep, but I promise you, you are the love of my life at this moment. And if I'm right, you will be the love of my life forever."

l had expected her to relax and reply with a snarky comment, as she did after the very few emotional moments we had, but instead, I felt her smile against my skin.

"That's good enough for me", she whispered. I smiled as I tilted her head up, she closed her eyes, leaning in for a kiss, but instead, i thumbed her smeared lipstick. "You've got a little something there", I whispered, unable to hold back a pink tint on my cheeks. At first, she seemed confused, until I saw a flicker of recognition pass over her eyes.

As soon as realisation sunk in, her eyes softened more than I have ever seen them soften, and she smiled up at me, a smile with no hidden smirk, no playfulness, no mischief. It was simple, and just......a normal, happy smile. Uncharacteristic smile.

She stood up on tiptoes, and tucked a stray curl from my forehead behind my ear, she rested it against hers.

"I love you so, so much, Bea."

I smiled, closing my eyes with a content sigh.

"I love you too, Pops."

hello everyone! i’m back again with another piece of work! 

since it’s the spooky month i decided to draw one of my favourite halloween shows of all time, over the garden wall! this was orignially for an arts project in school (where we had to paint a portrait of someone) then i decided - why not just post this on tumblr as well? 

this isn’t my usual artstyle - it’s kinda like lineless art if you think about it ;; also every thing here was r e a l l y experimental. i seriously cannot draw trees to save my life, but i thought that the watercolour paper bg was a bit too plain - so i tried my best to paint trees <:’) which ended up pretty nicely ngl.

painting this thing was pretty fun as well! i really love warm colours and since wirt’s palette consists of like warm tones - i was really into painting him! also i kinda like how i did the hair

it’s so floofy

maybe i’ll do this style for bigger projects that i’m working on, it was pretty fun to paint with this style!
