Secret for Sparkattack?

That's a good one! Sparky's secret is an important plot point for Exopulse's and Monochromator's story. More under the cut.

Secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them?

Sparky wants to save lives. He wants to save lives soooo bad, he's willing to resort to unethical methods to keep his patients alive and well. Yet for some reason the few patients with fatal injuries don't make it.

He is dead set on experimenting with lifeless frames to reverse their status quo so he does just that. But in secret. He has asked Rossum a couple of times if such a thing was possible and his mentor didn't give him a definite answer. Which was enough to give him hope that it is, but then An Accident happened and Rossum was put into medically induced stasis.

Sparkattack had to take over the Orbiter's med bay as the new acting medic with no license, lots of incomplete theoretical knowledge and minimal training. When Venator took over as his new mentor, Sparky asked him for permission to start his experiment but Venator declined. He was banned from the lab indefinitely.

This did not stop him from sneaking in and dissecting the most damaged frames they had lying around. He learned to navigate its complicated structure by trial and error, until he was ready to conduct his first resurrection attempt.

Monochromator came back Wrong. He didn't recognize his body anymore and also didn't feel like himself. There was something missing, though he didn't know what it was. Exopulse was lucky. He came back normal and it didn't dawn on him that he shouldn't be alive until he remembered that he and Mono had pierced each other's sparks.

Sparky didn't tell them that they had been dead for a long time. He didn't tell them what he had done to bring them back. Venator didn't know about it either and thought a miracle had occurred. Mono spends a good chunk of their story trying to figure out why everything feels wrong with Exo as moral support (he's mocking him about being a shoddy Autobot construct and that his Decepticon frame has a much better quality), until the two of them confront Sparky.

That's when he tells everyone about his secret experiment and it's not a secret anymore :-)

It did take the crew a while to notice that every one of them was killed and no, they didn't notice the very obvious pattern earlier because the circumstances under which their bodies were found were vastly different. Exo and Mono don't really believe this at first and they conspire that the Orbiter's crew's processors must have been tampered with by the perpetrator.

Unrelated to the question but when someone finds out that the strange deaths that keep happening every century must be linked in a way, Venator wants to reopen the investigations on the cases that have been put on ice while Sparkattack tries to find a way to peer into the victims' damaged frames. It's impossible to salvage memories with a cortical psychic patch when there is no head to extract the memories from. This doesn't deter him from trying, however.

But that's just a theory :-)

In truth, Triator was just hungry and the resident ancient eldritch grandpa can't consume anything other than dreaming processors every other century to remain functioning. After the ghost ship stuff happens, Azimuth and Ambulon join them, Rossum is healed and Triator is captured, Sparky will use his newfound knowledge to come up with a plan to help Triator.

His secret struggles weren't for naught.

rambling & thoughts abt this piece below the cut because i put a lot of thought into it

tbh my thoughts on this piece are properly expired because i did this MONTHS ago and its. its not as fresh as it used to be but here we go

so i made this thing ^ for twitter because obviously i cant ramble there but the whole gist of it is there from the beta designs and everything, but something i didn't include in the picture above is my struggle with deciding what color the dress should be because i don't make thumbnails/colored sketch before like getting into lineart and coloring

okay pic above is the options i had for deciding the color (ended up doing the one on the second pic, second from the left) it's a bit fun to revisit because this pic took 11 hours or so ibispaint says okay wait time to properly get rambling

i. unexpectedly put a lot of effort and thought behind this piece considering that its probably my first ever proper serious twst artwork...??? and its an open collab too so you cant not expect me to tryhard a little www but anyway. i do wish i could have done more but im impatient and i want to get this finished asap with how busy i already was with other stuff so as a result i didnt put much though in the backgrounds and just balled it but yknow what. its okay i like the end result, its nice to see and im glad to see that people like it too!! about the beta designs; im genuinely a big fan of like some of them but i knew it was going to be a pretty detailed (and draining) piece so i decided for something simple :] i did regret not putting any accessories in vil's hair though :( it completely slipped my mind until i was like .... halfway? through shading ANYWAY. i think that should be all? idk my thoughts are no longer fresh anyway so i dont have much to say now compared to back then but if you read this thank u . i put a lot of love and effort in what i do and i hope it shows through my art. hopefully i can draw more twst soon !!

Eleven eevees, all with the same resting/curled up pose and lineart save for changes to diversify their fur textures and color palettes. The image begins with Ultra Moon's dex entry for eevee: Its genes are easily influenced by its surroundings. Even its face starts to look like that of its Trainer. All following eevees, regardless of their pelt color, are depicted with a light colored mane and tail tip. Eevee 1, Standard Coloration and Fur: Wild eevee. If we end up under the care of another wild pokemon, we may take on features that resemble them instead! We've disappointed a lot of trainers who thought they'd found a pokefusion :( Eevee 2: Silky straight black fur and blue eyes. "My trainer has Type 1 black hair and blue eyes." Eevee 3: Wavy blonde fur and one visible blue eye. "My trainer has Type 2 blonde hair and heterochromia." It is implied that the closed eye is of a different color. Eevee 4: Curly dark brown fur and green eyes. "My trainer has Type 3 brown hair and green eyes." Eevee 5: Dark red with tight curls and brown eyes. "My trainer has Type 4 ginger hair and dark brown eyes." Eevee 6: Wavy dirty blonde fur that pales at their spine and their forehead, as well as one of their ears. Lighter spots of pigment can be found on the inside of their ear and on their nose. Their eye is blue. Eevee 7: Curly brown fur that pales at their spine and their forehead, as well as one of their ears. Lighter spots of pigment can be found on the inside of their ear and on their nose. Their eye is green. It is stated that both Eevee 6 and Eevee 7's trainers have vitiligo. Eevees 8 and 9: Both eevees have red eyes, pink noses, and pale white fur. Eevee 8 has straight fur while Eevee 9 has tight curls. Text states "Both of our trainers are albino. But we're not natural albinos, ourselves. Eevees like us do not become true albinos, but take on pigments that mimic our trainers' appearances, although true albino eevees do exist." OKAY so for those of you who have been with me for a while: yes. Yes, this is absolutely meant as a revamp/revisit/spiritual successor to the first time I tried to explore my headcanons surrounding the Ultra Moon dex entry.

I tried to cover a wide general range this time. Yes I am well aware that each hair type has an A - C range, but I simplified things to keep us from being stuck here all day and to save my wrist some extra strain. I hope that's not a problem.

I've been wanting to redo this idea for a while. Mostly because I know a lot more about proper terminology now than I did when I first made that other doodle. It's kinda embarrassing that as a black woman, I didn't already know these proper terms and I don't like that the previous take could have made other POC uncomfortable. Hopefully this one will be a lot more acceptable.

Secondly however, I've been wanting to do this because people are still giving the old one a lot of love and reblogs, and tbh I'd rather that it stop getting so much attention. When I first uploaded it onto Tumblr it actually got some confrontational backlash and while I was able to talk things out with the people in question, I still feel a twinge of anxiety to this day every time I see this stupid thing pop up in my notifs. Please, feel free to ignore it now this one is SO MUCH BETTER LOL

Anyway, I'm considering making these linearts a buyable PSD bundle so if you're interested in that, do let me know. People seemed to be really interested in that the first time around so, figured I should put the idea out there.
