bro honestly i had to say it.... referring to the israeli occupation of palestine as israel/palestine DISCOURSE is very... improper. from a political, historical and maybe even humanitarian standpoint. you're not obligated to, but i suggest you read something from pappè/khalidi/said/kadman <3 it's important in this day and age to be educated on this matter
anon thank you for the recs which I will check out because I’m interested in reading on the topic in general (I read said in university btw I’m not completely out of touch) but like…. I wasn’t talking about THAT ^^’
the post in question was about the whole k*ndrick vs dr*ke debate and I will absolutely call it discourse when it’s 6k notes of people arguing in a circle while not giving a single source for us foreigners who are not familiar with the topic not being us american or not into rap music, i never heard a song from either bc it’s not on my radar and i’d appreciate a source which isn’t saying if you aren’t familiar with that music scene you have a bias (like i don’t listen to rap music bc 99% of rappers sing fast and I’m esl and I can’t follow it, I do listen to some italian rap so…..:…)
and for that matter i spotted the terf bc she said she was allowed in disliking the whole genre bc misogyny so like… next time ask first what it was about if you’re concerned about it instead of presuming? like sorry swear this isnt meant to be passive aggressive but i wouldn’t refer to the the isra*l/p*lestine question as discourse at any point bc i think it’s the most complicated sociopolitical situation in existence atm which requires more nuance and knowledge to discuss on main than I ever have had or will ever, and I don’t think people getting killed nonsensically at that level is discourse nor I ever did, so again thanks for the recs and I’ll see to check them out but like I wasn’t talking abt it in the first place

So, I've seen some posts about how some people are not just liking how things are going with BTS's music these days, and I think it's totally fine. But some comments made me think of some things and here i am just to voice those out. Since this is your inbox totally ignore it if this doesn't sit right with you. BTS's music has changed over the course of time, and i think these changes are very common for any artist or even people in general. They change with the changing trends and demands of the public i believe. And even though i really did think of the same thing about their recent music releases. specifically with dynamite, butter, permission to dance, it seems like their music did got pretty westernized. But then i tried to think it from a neutral point of view, meaning not about what i want from them as an ARMY but what any artist may want for themselves as people. Like since they are artists and this is literally their full time job and lifestyle even, it's pretty natural they might have their own goals that they want to achieve. Like all the charts. Way Before dynamite was released the boys had expressed their wishes to become a billboard no.1 someday. And changing their routes to get them, like i said from a neutral perspective didn't sound that wrong to me. It's okay if they want that and change their style to get them. And also if some of us don't like it that's fine too. But i think it's a tinsy bit unfair to want your favorite artists to never change. Cause that just isn't possible i'd say. So i would support them in their wanting to achieving things as i would do for any of my friends or the people that i love so long they don't do anything that is harmful for others. Ik they aren't really my friends heck they don't even know me but to me they are no less. As consumers ARMYs may have their demands, i already said it's not wrong for any of us to want certain things from them. It's just in the end it's their life and the music they make is really just their own and something that makes them happy. And it's not necessary to rain on someone's parade just because i or someone else don't like it. So if the music they make makes them happy and they want to become chart topping artists i have no problem with it. I would do the same for the things i want in my life, and we don't owe anything to anyone to need to do otherwise. Idk which category this comment would fall into and i don't really think i care either. Idek why i bothered to write all of these, i didn't think i would but here i am anyways!
I hope you and if anyone else is reading this have a good life and may All our good wishes come true! Peace!!!✌
Hi! First of all, thank you for writing this in a kind way, and no attacking anyone. The internet needs more people like you! ☺️💜
I would agree with you, if the boys actually made these songs. But they don’t, not even Big Hit staff are part of making the songs. I would say I know the boys enough to know they love making music - they have made their own music right from the beginning, writing, producing, composing, along will all the amazing Big Hit staff we know so well. I feel like I know the boys enough to know they want to keep on doing this, making music. Vocal line even started participating much more than earlier in this - Tae and Jungkook each had their own composed and written songs on BE, and Jungkook composed and wrote songs for the last two Japanese comebacks.
And nobody can convice me rapline thinks it’s totally fine NOT to rap!
So, if the boys actually made these songs themselves, I would agree with you :)
(I know Joon wrote the rap parts in Butter. But he only changed a bit, and this was the only thing he was part of. And also, Butter is no doubt 10 times better than the two others)
But I agree with you, everyone change and the boys surely have done that a lot of times through their time. But they always stayed true to themselves and their roots and love for music and performing, and if this changes, I’m just not sure I can just accept that change and still be a happy ARMY.
