✩ WEEKLY FIC ROUND-UP ✩
A collection of fics I’ve read (/reread) and thoroughly enjoyed in the past week-ish from all kinds of fandoms and genres.
Danny Phantom
we are all walking each other home by anthrop (Note: I love the way this author describes Danny and ghosts in general. They go hard in the body horror in their other fics, which I love)
Danny’s eyes flare. “What?”
“Nothing,” Tucker says quickly, because he has a healthy sense of self-preservation and respect for the stupid amount of super strength and speed Danny’s got in ghost mode.
“It’s just weird to see Phantom look so casual,” Sam drawls, because her favorite thing in the world is to push a guy’s buttons when he’s already down, apparently.
Social Networking by ChaosDragon (PlotWitch)
Danny has always been aware of the dangers he confronts on a daily basis. Unfortunately for him, he's been too busy to learn how dangerous social networking can be.

Kwan doesn't really want to deal with Fenton's new ghost-powers problem, but he wants his mom to find out that he'd dared another kid to do something dangerous and irresponsible even less. So he strikes a deal with the runt: don't tell his parents, and Kwan will keep Dash off his back for three months and help him figure out how to stop falling through the floors.
For his part, Danny just wants to get back to normal and Kwan is the only one who even knows what the problem is, so he doesn't have much of a choice in who to turn to. Still, they're both just looking forward to when things can go back to normal.
Then other ghosts start coming through the portal and everything gets real complicated, real quick.

He’s always wary of making assumptions; even more so when Grantaire is concerned. He knows he’s not the easiest person to deal with. People either like him or can’t stand him, and it’s easy to respond to those reactions, but Grantaire—Grantaire is hostile and mocking, Grantaire scorns his beliefs, and Grantaire stays.
can't cover it up by prouvairing
There is a raw pain in Enjolras’ chest, stretching his ribcage. Something that he cannot name, but tastes a little like grief and a little like shame, and it has nothing to do with Grantaire at all. And yet, it is on Grantaire that it decides to catch.
The Drunk Leading the Blind by juanjoltaire
When Enjolras is maced at a protest, he is left blinded, unclear whether or not he will recover. Grantaire volunteers himself as Enjolras's seeing-eye dog to guide him through his everyday life, while Enjolras remains clueless about how Grantaire feels about him.

After his ill-fated Agni Kai, Zuko is cast out of the Fire Nation without even so much as a hope of returning. Dumped on Earth Kingdom shores, he's forced to come to terms with the fact that his father likely wants him dead- and that maybe the Fire Nation was never that great to begin with.
That's the painful part.
The weird part? The weird part is breaking into a nobleman's manor in order to steal food, getting caught and then being hired to protect (babysit) said nobleman's blind daughter. Then again... maybe it's exactly what he needs right now.
(or, toph never got her field trip so now she gets to hog zuko for three whole years)
suffer the pain of losing your firstborn by TheTartWitch
this is what it looks like when your grandfather loves you but your whole family's emotionally constipated.
(except for your uncle, but that might just be all the tea he drinks.)
To Take Care by Haicrescendo
Part 2 of What We’re Given
It’s a beautiful day on the Jasmine Dragon, the sun is shining, and Zuko has a Bad Feeling about it.
Or,
Zuko’s casual treason is interrupted by the Avatar, who is a child and a Pain In The Ass.
not as far west by howlikeagod
The two most wanted enemies of the Fire Nation escape house arrest. They also happen to be teenage boys.
Zuko and Aang take a break from firebending practice.

[image: A boy, maybe fourteen, stands on the porch of the Fujiwara household in a brand new school uniform. Slung over one shoulder is an old but well-loved leather messenger bag. In his hand is a brightly wrapped bento. The boy, although smiling, looks nervous.]
(or: Natsume learns to use a cell phone, text people back, call people first, and take pictures of his friends)
