man I don't know what the hell is going on with other parts of transmasc tumblr but y'know I figure I'll make a post about it just in case cause I've mentioned it a few times and I wanna be clear

I don't use the terms transandrophobia/transmisandry because they imply that androphobia and misandry are systems of oppression that affect all men, cis and trans, and that is simply ✨not the case✨

however I do use anti-transmasculinity (ATM) because it was coined by a Black transfem to talk about things like transmascs/trans men being excluded from discussions and resources because of statements like "men can't get pregnant/men don't menstruate/men don't experience gender-based violence" that conflate "man" and "cis man" and leaves no room for the nuance and experience of transmasculinity. additionally, ATM names the issue of statements like "women and femmes" where they again do the above.

i.e. actual issues where the language used erases transmascs/the transmasc experience and actions that exclude us from our communities

sooooo yea that's exclusively what I'm talking about when I say things about ATM
