Lots of Artem ssr card thoughts that evolves from analysis as to why i didn't like Artem (cough Atmospherics cough) to wait damn I enjoy most of his cards! (I am in fact Pro-Artem by the end of this, even if he is the last of my bias.)

As much as I dislike Artem's SSR card Atmospherics, his other ones Wandering Heart, Unusual Love, and Sunshine After the Rain have. Struck me. /pos

Maybe Artem is... good.

I know it can be annoying, to a degree, for MC and Artem to be oblivious or just very careful of boundaries. But considering the relationship dynamic is literally an authority imbalance (to a degree), i really appreciate that they are careful of each other. Also, Artem's gentleness to MC when, for instance, they accidentally walked in on him changing in Wandering Heart, he forgives them and reassures them that there's nothing to be embarrassed about.

Its just really gentle and cautious, but soft and genuine. There's no intentional flirting to accidentally be read into. They are work partners, and they have that superior/subordinate relationship that they have to be aware of. Artem is also. The LAST of the four boys to abuse that. Not that any of them would (cough Marius wouldn't care about it TO A DEGREE cough) but its just really special to me that they chose this personality and these characteristics for Artem to handle it professionally.

Maybe thats part of why I hate Atmospherics so much. It was hyped up so much and then he's very drunk and being... physically... possessive? It made me uncomfortable and disappointed that there was no warning. Sure, a kabedon (spelling?) moment is nice but when its consensual. MC was not able to leave the apartment as he was sure they wouldn't be safe if they left. But I didnt feel safe around drunk!Artem. Its not sexy. His possessive and protectiveness would have been better in a different situation. The art is nice, but ultimately the card is driving by a story and standards that make me uncomfortable.

Before I read Atmospherics, I read Entwined Fate. I think that honestly may have been the card to put him in second place in my bias originally. I really like how sweet and cute that card is, the clear "strings" connecting MC and Artem, but also as on brand, the pair are oblivious or refusing to believe that the other may be romantically interested in them. Its really cute, and I love the art.

I've been catching up on reading SSR and SR cards that I haven't yet read (so I can make a rating post about them :) ), and have generally seen lots of pro-Artem stuff, so I once again gave him a shot in Unusual Love.

That is protectiveness I can get behind. Maybe because there's a real threat, maybe because its fake-dating-to-haha-jk-...unless? or maybe because he really just does want to show MC that he cares about them by gifting them the earrings- and then, in true Artem fashion, saying he AND Celestine are gifting the earrings. Its really just. So sweet. Also I love being spoiled.

Sunshine After the Rain will probably be my sucker spot for a little bit- the concept of being stuck in a hotel castle on an island... my favorite movie of all time being The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982) isn't for nothing. That and the sweet moments of when he calls them as they're trying to have him rest (its vacation, dammit!) and then when he ties a string frOM HIS OWN SWEATER to each other's wrists to be able to pull if they feel nervous- still respecting privacy while reassuring that he's there for them. Gonna sob, gonna cry. For personal reasons, that's the sweetest thing someone's ever done for me at night to make me feel safe while I'm asleep but did it before I was asleep... anyway.

I don't personally care for Dreamful Melodies as I think I read it just for the illustrations and the s-chips? So I dont remember enjoying that story.

I have not yet Por Una Cabeza, but I have heard lots of good things about it. If he pulls a Vyn and teaches MC a dance, I will be quite pleased.

OH AND UUUUH FORGOT ABOUT Loving Memories !!! That card is SO cute. Its a little bland, maybe, as neither of them are very frightened by the haunted house, but the art is so freakin' sweet and its basically a fluff fic come to life. God bless. Love that card. HES SO SOFT AND CUTE IN THAT ONE.

this might ruin the nice mood we got going on but have you ever felt insecure ab your art? specially when looking at other people in fandom? it tends to happen to me quite a bit and i have no idea how to deal with it :p

lmao have u met me??? im a depressed 22 years old who’s dream was to work in art, be it animation or comics, but had to give up because art school was too much on my mental health, ruining my life plan at age 19.

ive been insecure about my art all my life. i think that most artists get insecure about their art (except dc artists. but u know SEJOEFSJOFSE) and in a way it’s good, because that’s how we get better, by being critical of our own stuff and seeking inspiration and going further.

i’m insecure with my art because in art school my teachers taught me that oh No i am actually bad (for their standards, for waht they were expecting), and ever since i left art school and it’s not my n°1 priority because now i have a full time job, i draw less, and i dont get better, dont push myself like i could before. every week i have a moment where i cant draw and i’m like. this is it. this is the last time im picking up a pen. i’ll never be able to draw again. i read once that we only had 10 years in our lives where we were at our best creativly, and even if it’s bullshit it’s always in my mind because im like. im passed it. im now going to be Bad forever.

my head’s been fucked over because i’m never going to be a professional, and even tho i’m starting to make my peace with it, i look at friends or people i follow who are in the art industry and i just feel so upset. i look at my art and at followers or like numbers and im like . oh no i don’t have the numbers then i dont matter, my art is Bad.

and it’s fucking stupid !!! every little thing i do makes me insecure about my art !!! and tbh i got better when i really started putting this as a Hobby, a thing i do on the weekends or evenings when i have the energy, and not as a goal. but i’m lucky, i caught attention and with it, validation. because that’s what’s important in my eyes when it comes to art insecurity. it’s because you dont get validations. yes it’s validation from strangers, but it’s validation nonetheless. and you know when i get like this i just !! hey !!! i got so much fucking better fuck you !!!! legit i’ll find you one of my first digital piece thats like from 2015 or something and wtf !!! i got so much better i’m getting so much further and im having fun ! i’m drawing things i like i’m discovering how to do things, and i’m doing it at my pace. and that’s waht important. fuck insecurity and comparing yourself to artists who have such different paths. what matters is your path and if you are happy.

it’s okay to step back when your hobby doesn’t make you happy. it’s okay to find other things to do. i used to only define myself by Oh im nostra, i draw. don’t do that. i discovered i was so much more than that, and so are you. dont let the insecurities eat you.

hi all !! this is an introduction to my freshest muse and newest baby yeo eunchan otherwise and more commonly known as ‘chan’, he’s a sweetheart but of course because its me and i can’t resist giving my muses slight torture, he’s a tormented sweetheart. if you look at his pinterest here you’ll get an idea of his style better since that’s pretty essential to him as a muse in this case hshd. below the cut you can find out a bit more about him and if you hit the like, i’ll be sure to throw him at you for plots !! lets get into it: 

BACKSTORY: 

chan’s childhood wasn’t particularly dark or strained. he is by far the least tragic out of all my muses. but for me, that’s still pretty tragic by mosts standards. growing up he always had a very supportive father in regard to his homosexuality and androgynous qualities. he grew up in a happy home and despite not being rich he was very fortunate to have rich opportunities come his way. to be fair he’s pretty easily pleased but most of his experiences thus far have been plentiful

perhaps that is why his luck has to run out somewhere down the line, in the worst way it possibly could. his mother passed when he was young due to cancer. it was a grave and difficult time for his father as well as the rest of the family. his father crumbled eventually, in the hospital with health issues now that are so severe he’s due to pass any day and is basically in a vegetative state already. chan was left to raise his five year old sister nari and take on the responsibility. 

for this reason, he could be considered a struggling single father as he’s pushing his own dreams and goals aside to accomodate for nari and make sure she has the best upbringing which is comfortable for her, where she can see chan as a father figure as well as an older brother now, who can be relied upon and responsible. balancing the line and the roles between brother and father isn’t always easy though when the lines are constantly blurred. he has sacrificed most of himself and his youth to keep nari happy and healthy and mostly untouched by the death of their parents. 

this hasn’t been easy though, it’s left chan isolated and with no one to speak to but the five year old girl a lot of his feelings get locked in a box and left unexplored, he cannot have a moment of hesitation or weakness because then that will affect nari. his mourning process and grieving has been put on a backline, and he only really allows himself to break down in quiet moments without nari. such as when walking through the forest to be with nature, visiting their graves or on the edge of his bed having a good cry when nari is fast asleep due to the feeling of living in the empty space where his parents used to fill it all up. 

PERSONALITY: 

chan is a makeup artist, he does it professionally for models and artists all throughout the industry but he also does it for fun, becoming pretty popular as a person who gives tutorials on youtube and instagram as an ‘influencer’ but he really hates that label and prefers to simply think of himself as an artist. he also does the bit of fashion blogging and photography on the side. 

he considers himself an adventurer and for that reason he also travels a lot, usually while he is there he’ll study as he does photography for a course as well as a part time student and his main interest is in ancient architecture and art. most of the time he’ll roadtrip in his styled up vintage pick up but occasionally its flights to more beachy area’s, his two favorite places are greece and italy and he spends most of his time in those places if he can.

chan has a very vintage sense of style and he enjoys doing most things the traditional and old school way. although he does add a modern mindset to a lot of it. aesthetically style wise envision chan as fingers full of plenty of rings, ankle bracelets and arm cuffs with loose puffy sleeved shirts and ripped up mom jeans or high waisted ones. he cycles mostly everywhere on his vintage style bike. 

very much a gentle soul, little bit of a nerd and activist in the sense he wants to save the earth. he can be really intense about learning about nature and how to preserve it. he has always felt the most in touch with the natural world compared to the hum and chaos of the modern world and city life. he’s no saint of course and he’s still a sucker for coffee but other than that he likes to think he does his best. 

paints and draws very amazingly likewise, he prefers to draw flowers and people the most but he’ll work with whatever he’s got on hand. usually you can only catch him whipping out a sketchbook if he’s feeling stressed or overwhelmed as a form of escapism and quiet time. 

he is a little bit of a quixotic type so sue him, like one of the ‘have you ever fallen in love’ 'five times a day’ types but it’s not obsessive, it’s more of an admiration he considers all people beautiful and worthy of love in their own way and would state most of them are art to him. you could be the worst person and he’d be all ’ you dont have all the facts’ 'which are?’ 'i love them’.

although he doesn’t identify as genderfluid, he has a very genderfluid and androgynous sense of fashion and often wears clothing and makeup typically labelled as being more feminine. he likes a soft and classy look that usually consists of a good lip tint or ultra glossy lip and a natural but glittery smokey eye look. think kinda like the instagram influencer ivanbaaaaah for reference. 

MISC: 

growing up chan struggled with religion a lot, he and his family are very religious but his sexuality caused some issues. his father had always been supportive but his mother was a different story, unfortunately his memories with her aren’t the fondest. though he has a very dark history with religion, he loves to be in churches that are empty or abandoned for moments of reflection. often he wonders if he doesn’t even have god as the one consistent and reliable thing in his life, then what the hell does he have. he feels even now sometimes that he’s letting god and his mother down for the way he is but there is less shame now than what he suffered when younger. 

everything in his life basically revolves around nari, she goes most places with him and any task he’ll find a way to make fun for her, he doesn’t spoil her but he also doesn’t ever leave her to go without even if that is at his expense to do so. they love to bake together and he does that pretty often. 

has a part time job as a barista on night shifts and also in a patisserie. he works from home on his influencer content again to accommodate for nari and he also takes his course in photography and media online to best suit nari so he doesn’t have to leave her with a babysitter too often as he believes that’s no childhood and him just being lazy in his duty towards her as her parental figure at this pivotal time in her life. 

he’s putting off most of his dreams and aspirations right now for until nari is older, he could’ve been much more famous as an influencer but he chose not to be and put those opportunities to broaden his career on hold for a while because having a famous sibling in her life wasn’t the kind of overwhelming attention and pressure nari needed to be surrounded with right now. 

he honestly just wants to make sure nari grows up feeling safe, comfortable and happy as well as confident in herself and chan. she’s his primary responsibility and he considers himself her closest bet to a father now so he wants her to feel she has that bond with him as well as the bond of him being her brother. 

PLOT BUNNIES: 

a babysitter plot would be great, someone who he can rely on and uses often to leave nari with when he has no other choice and particularly on nights when he has to work. ideally it would be someone nari felt very close to and idolized so he knew they had an amazing relationship and she’d be happy and relaxed when he was gone. he’s very over protective of her so he’d also have to feel pretty close to the person. it could go any way really, it could be a pining thing, a best friend thing, whatever honestly. 

this boy definitely needs a confidant so throw that at me any day. 

friends who can help him reconnect with religion and spirituality in different ways so he knows there’s always a way for him to feel tied to god somehow and a god who loves him and best suits his needs somewhere even if it isn’t necessarily in the religion he grew up with. 

work buddies at the cafe he works in or patisserie would be amazing too. 

maybe a tutor/study buddy kinda person he met online through doing his course of media and photography to make sure he was making up for the classes he was missing out on by not being able to attend day lectures in college. 

just people with the similar hobby of photography would also be awesome or models even that he can do a couple of freelance jobs for on the side when they need him. 

muses for him to draw they’d be very special people indeed bc chan will rarely whip his sketchbook out in front of anyone let alone ask to draw them. 

more single parent muses would also be awesome eventually or older siblings who kind of take on that role half the time so have some idea of what its like who he could meet through taking nari to things like nursery, etc. 

neighbor bc who doesn’t love a good single dad and his neighbor plot  who’s all like woah that guy is super young and he has a kid but im also sure there’s no woman on the scene and wow they’re noisy and its kinda infuriating but its also cute as hell cause he’s a hella good dad and in the mornings i can hear them baking and doing food fights or playing together and i often see them messing about coming back from grocery shopping etc and actually its kinda touching?? 

gay pals cause we love gay pals as well as ur everyday pals we love a platonic bond between fellow gays.

6 Tips for Photographers from a Vogue Model

I’ve been working as a model for over four years now, which I love, but there’s plenty of room for improvement in the way that models are treated in the industry and I feel like this is a good place to start. I love collaborating with photographers on creative shoots and editorials, and mostly I find the people that I work with respectful and kind, but there’s always one or two!

Tip #1: Encourage a Healthy Working Environment

If you want to think of your photography as a career option rather than just a hobby then you should extend that professionalism to the people you work with. For example, models should be able to take breaks for food or water or to use the bathroom. When shooting on location, perhaps consider stopping halfway through for a quick break in a nearby coffee shop for comfort, or providing water or even a blanket if it’s cold out.

Never expect your models to change outfits in public, it’s fine if they offer and are comfortable doing so but don’t act like it’s a given; instead, allow models to change in nearby public bathrooms for privacy.

If you have organized a test shoot then it is fine to agree to TFP compensation for your models, but if you have been approached by a brand or other company and you yourself are being paid, you should definitely compensate your models financially, as well as providing images for them to use, if your contract with the brand allows – if not then the compensation should reflect the lack of images.

It is also important to respect other commitments of your model, they may need to leave at a certain time or not be available before a certain time and this may mean that you have to shoot slightly quicker than you would otherwise like to but it is important to remain respectful of this, especially if you aren’t paying them for their time.

Tip #2: Make Your Contracts Fair, and Mutually Beneficial

“TFP” as mentioned previously, stands for “Time For Prints” (or “Time For Photographs”) meaning that there is a mutual exchange between the model and photographer- the photographer donates their time and skill and the model receives prints or copies of the photographs for their own use. TFP is a very common means of operation in the current market, and it is important for contracts to reflect this fair exchange.

It is important that the photographer realize that they aren’t the only creative force at work during a shoot. Ideally, the ideas of all team members should be considered and respected equally.

An annoyingly common issue I’ve had to deal with when shooting TFP is feeling like you’ve shot some genuinely good quality and useful images, and then only receiving black and white images.

Of course, if this was the concept agreed on beforehand then this is completely fine but if not, it isn’t exactly fair. Instead, if you think that the black and white files look better for some reason then feel free to send those to your model as well, but also send them the same images in full color, as this is only fair and polite.

Another equally frustrating thing that some photographers do is to not want to share what they feel is their best work with other members of their creative team, which again is very unfair to all the other parties that were involved in the shoot.

The emphasis with TFP shoots should be that all creative parties’ contributions are treated equally and fairly. Always send over high-resolution files in color, and preferably without a watermark on them as this looks very unprofessional.

Tip #3: Always Respect a Model’s Safety and Boundaries

Anyone who has ever worked as a model for any amount of time will quickly learn one thing: you don’t always get to feel safe at work. In fact, you tend to feel unsafe quite often.

This feeling is typically more likely if the creative team is smaller, for example just a photographer and a model – a very common arrangement.

Thankfully, I have been in only a small amount of genuinely risky situations as a model throughout my career, but it shouldn’t be an accepted or expected part of the job. Karl Lagerfeld famously said earlier this year that “if you don’t want your pants pulled about, don’t become a model”. It’s actually not a particularly controversial opinion to have, and low-level forms of physical and sexual assault are almost an accepted part of the job. This is far from being a problem with just photographers, or a problem with even a considerable percentage of working photographers, but you as a photographer can do your bit to help.

I would hope that this would go without saying but based on my own experience it sadly doesn’t, but make sure you always respect a model’s personal and professional boundaries, never push a model to shoot in a way that they aren’t comfortable with and if they wish to bring a chaperone with them to a shoot then let them. As a photographer, you should try to create a working environment that allows models to voice what they are or aren’t comfortable doing and always respect that without trying to convince them to go beyond that.

Tip #4: When Posing Try to be Specific

This is particularly important if you are shooting with a new or less experienced model, as they may not be familiar with how to pose themselves properly.

Not long ago I was given a vague and bizarre piece of posing advice which was to “just be water” as this was in line with the theme of the shoot. Needless to say, I didn’t have a particularly clear idea of what they wanted me to do.

This is a reasonably extreme example, but it’s quite a common problem. If you’re shooting with a more experienced model and you’re happy to just let them do their thing then that’s completely fine but if you’re looking for something quite specific it’s usually helpful to have a mood-board of specific posing styles rather than relying on vague directive statements alone.

The same can be applied to editorial and e-commerce shoots as well. It may also be helpful for you to show them the poses that you want them to do, you may feel silly doing this but they also probably feel quite silly trying to follow vague posing advice while being given little to no feedback.

Communication, in general, is undervalued in collaboration, and many photographers I’ve worked with have been quiet and introverted, making it difficult to actually understand what they are trying to achieve.

One of the best ways for a beginner to pose is through “mirroring” where both the photographer and model relax and then the photographer moves into a pose, expecting the model to mirror the actions and achieve the same pose. This also allows the photographer to directly see what needs to change in front of their eyes, and can adjust themselves and therefore the model appropriately.

Tip #5: Do Not Diminish the Role of a Model

I can’t tell you how many shoots I’ve been on where the photographer has made some kind of backhanded comment about how easy it is to model compared to what they do, or sometimes compared to having a “real job.” Now don’t get me wrong, models are met with these sorts of comments all the time, from all sorts of people who do all sorts of different jobs. But it is a lot more annoying coming from someone that you actually have to work with.

One of the worst incidences I encountered was when I was on a shoot for a graduate clothing brand and almost the second we started shooting the photographer starting saying things like “your poses need to be more interesting” (see my previous point), “come on! I thought you’d done this before!?” and “the only difference between you and any other girl on the street is your ability to pose, so pose!”

Needless to say, this was far from encouraging. I appreciated that this was a high fashion style shoot and required some more “interesting” poses, but as we were just starting to shoot I was surprised by the sudden aggression. It is completely fine to expect a certain standard from a more experienced model, but it is your duty to communicate this in a tactful and constructive way, rather than insulting and denigrating your subject.

Tip #6: Always Credit Your Talent

This is more of a prevalent problem on social media rather than in print, but it is still important to credit everyone involved in a creative project. This does differ greatly depending on whether or not you have approached a model through an agency or not as most modeling agencies require that you credit them rather than the individual model. However, if you have arranged a shoot with a freelance model, or a model that is signed to an agency or agencies non-exclusively, then it is preferable to credit them as an individual.

Giving people appropriate credit for the work that they have put into a project is another way to show them that you respect their work and value their input. It is very commonplace for a photographer, or another creative team member, to credit everyone involved on social media and not the model. This, as well as being credited in caption but not linked to your actual profile, makes it even harder for a model to market themselves on social media, which is increasingly important.

patience is a great trait to learn and a must-have for gods grace so here it is you HAVE to WANT to do it because WE are impatient to start it will better you the only power the devil has in the long run is creating problems and trials to make you wait so you have patience and ALL JOY sure will have to deal with the problems and trials which are TEMPORARY PAIN/SADNESS

what you do is everytime your gonna wash your hands barely turn the water on start off with low wash hands with that for week then lower that just barely if you need a lil more MAKE it happen dont forget YOUR in charge go a couple weeks like that then just go ahead and lower it as you wish get it down to just before the drips is where i am at dont forget this WILL better your life and if someone needs to use restroom oh well lol j/k turn it up for that one time

When I first started this JOURNEY I was stuck in my bed only leaving to get HELPED/ PICKED UP AND PUT IN MY CHAIR and to PUSHED to get FED or to be GIVEN a shower and that was my LIFE I didn't see it getting any better so I had ears to hear and was looking for AND WOULD "TRY ANYTHING" SO I WAS READING MY BIBLE after I heard Ecclesiastes 11;9 on my DVD Bible Jon bought me I would listen to it before bed and I woke to it on that Scripture I think I just paused it woke up looked up that Scripture WOW then I read that if it is his grace it's no longer on a basis of works and around that time the lord is teaching me about patience

just start getting up with intentions to go running or lift some weights and next month you get up start just getting dressed like if you were gonna exersise GRACE STEPS smaller then baby steps ;p and when were PATIENT and PERSISTENT we get to were we are going ;p

When you are working out if you are lifting one weight for a while it gets EASIER instead of progressing right away you wait be PATIENT

God told me just start getting up and rolling around your room a little longer each week I was all that is going to take FOREVER and then after that I will just be able to walk around in my chair my standard of life goes up then I start to seek my independance then God told me say it takes me 10 years lol back then that was a long time 13 YEARS AGO lol he told me 10 years from now you're going to look back on this time and think if I would of just started TRYING I could've been walking but instead I decided to just live life and GIVE UP "if you ain't first your last" if you're not trying to get ahead be the GOD'S that we are your GIVING UP and it has been 13 years I CAN WALK a little by Myself and can and DO eat by Myself ALL DAY LOL I take showers Myself wash and dry and hang my clothes they put my hanging shelf at my level so I can hang clothes and get dressed MYSELF and all this from getting up and walking around my room in my wheelchair for 10 minutes to start

So just start DOING something it doesn't matter how little or insignificant it seems PATIENCE and PERSISTENCE wins the race and LIFE

Start working on the yard 5 minutes a day do that every day for a month then work for 6 minutes every day no excuses do that until you feel comfortable than up it another minute and continue with that until your yard is clean then move on to your body

NO EXCUSES once you give in to one excuse it becomes easier to give in to the next one and so on until you've completely STOPPED
