Seeing the debate on how Kar'niss would sleep and the adorable fanart of it reminded of an artist's interpretation of how a centaur would sleep. With driders being like centaurs, i.e., having a humanoid upper half with a creature bottom half, I think it would also for Kar'niss.
This is really neat, thanks for sending it along! I rather like the recliner, I think Kar'niss would be really comfortable in that.
The thing that trips me up with his design is that his legs jut out from the side of his body rather than directly underneath him. While there is no official diagram for drider anatomy I imagine that where his legs connect to his body would be a bit fragile and prone to damage if too much weight/pressure is put on the area. It's why the thought of him laying directly on his side weirds me out a bit but that doesn't make it impossible either. I just feel bad for him more than anything! That poor baby is all sorts of twisted and would need some good accommodations.
Overall I think any way someone chooses to draw or write him sleeping is good value. Folks are real clever and I've seen some great ideas throughout the fandom. Remember to snuggle your drider at least twice a day in any position you can manage.
Thanks for the ask!

100 Drawing Challenge 2017, days 41-50
041/100 For the next ten days I’ll be drawing mystical creatures I like. To be honest I never saw a lot of fauns in media, but I did like Mr. Tumnus and I do like them when I see them.
042/100 Well I had to draw a unicorn at some point. This one has my favorite colors because white with gold hair has been done maybe a thousand times.
043/100 I was first introduced to centaurs through the pretty pastel centauresses from the original Fantasia. That never left me, even after learning the original lore, so here’s a rendition of that.
044/100 Today’s mythical creature is a siren. I actually wanted to get kind of creative with this design, so I drew it like a stereotypical mermaid, but with the coloring I wanted to make it look dead to hint at the lore of sirens. I hope that came through. Unlike the centaur, the heavy lidded, sultry look is completely intentional here.
045/100 Kitsune are one of those interesting, straight forward designs that are nice to draw. Hope you like it!
046/100 Every once in awhile, you get an urge to draw something cute and scaly. Same thing here with this cute dragon! I hope people can see the bearded lizard inspiration, those things are so cute I just had to use them as inspiration to keep up with the kawaii theme.
047/100 I never had the misfortune of thinking that snakes were gross and creepy as a child thanks to an extended family of animal lovers. I won’t jump in a pit and try to hug a cobra but at least the first time one of those zoo representative types brought a boa to class I wasn’t shocked that it was soft and scaly to the touch instead of converted in slime. I think that’s why I like the naga as a concept. I’m not terribly familiar with the original lore but the idea of someone that’s half human, half scaly baby is really endearing. Also this character wasn’t based on any particular type of snake. I used the brightest color combo immediately available because I did a Google search and visibly flinched at all the designs with green as the only color.
048/100 Happy Independence day! For my fellows from the USA at least. Today’s mythical creature is a harpy, and I took artistic license to give it a seasonal theme. It’s been a while since I used gel pens in art, I’m going it worked it so well! (And didn’t bleed through)
049/100 Today’s drawing it’s a fairy/low key Thumbelina fanart.
050/100 For the last mythical creature, I drew a kind of weird one; the Alp Tarn Kappe. They’re often drawn like vampires, but they’re specifically a kind of fae with a cap that sits on people and gives them nightmares?… I remember like half of what I read about them. Cool concept though.
