sneaking suspicion that the series finale is going to be Guillermo leaving everyone and the house for good, not out of any bitterness, but because he's ready to move on. at the end, this really was just a job, fulled with the faux-importance of a kid thinking this was his dream, where he was meant to stay. but Guillermo is human, and to be human is to change and grow. he will, inevitably, grow out of needing the vampires. he'll have one final moment with Nandor, a teary hug (maybe Guillermo will boop Nandors nose). and then. Guillermo will just...walk out of their lives forever. only a small, fleeting moment in their ever expansive existence. just like Nandor always knew he would.

This is always my fear when I get deeply emotionally invested in a character who seems like the obvious underdog who is being mistreated because so, so often the show is coming from a completely different perspective than I am,.

And I am very scared of Twins in this regard. Because this set up definitely feels like one that could be turned against Sprite in a heartbeat depending on the values and the way the show views so much of their family relationships. Because we're all out here feeling awful for Sprite who feels neglected for the sake of Zee.

But Zee is the one actually fulfilling what some people would call his responsibility to his mother, living up to her expectations while Sprite fights with all of them and rejects his father. Zee declaring that he will take Sprite's life again implies that Sprite's life is easier and 'better' because he's not doing what he should to live up to his parent's goals for him.

Is it what I think is happening? I hope not. But I can absolutely see this show going that way, going into Zee being right and Sprite needing to make it up to him, somehow.

I hope not. I hope the show is about how the entire family sees Sprite as a failure and realizing the he's not and that he's been doing his best to live up to everything and deserves to be loved for who he is and not just who he 'should be'.

But I will never totally trust a show until it's over.
