Angel felt a little lonely waiting in bed for David to finish work and join them, so they shuffled to his office, knocking the door with the unique rhythm they always did.

“Come in.”

David was wearing his glasses, a rare sight as he only uses them when his eyes are tired, and still in his work clothes, the top two buttons of his white shirt undone. He looked up and peered past his glasses, putting his pen down and leaning back to acknowledge them. Angel loved how he’d always drop everything and answer them when they wanted his attention.

Angel didn’t say anything. They simply walked towards him and crawled onto his lap. David, used to their random shenanigans, only let out a chuckle and raised his arms, giving them room to make themself comfortable. Angel straddled his thighs and leaned their head on his shoulder, arms wrapping around his waist. Once they stilled, David put a hand on the small of their back and stroked their hair with the other, giving them a little kiss.

“You ok?”

Angel nodded.

Satisfied, David went back to work. Every few minutes he’d kiss the top of their head or nuzzle his cheek against them.

David’s body was so warm, so comfortable. Having their cheek against his body was something they always did when they slept, so they felt themselves being lulled into a dream. The safety and love they felt just by being in his arms was its own form of magic.

But they couldn’t fall asleep.

They wanted to wait for David.

So Angel tried to stay awake, opting to run their fingers through the hair on the nape of his neck that had grown out. David let out a deep breath, and Angel smiled as they felt him relax.

“You’re gonna make me lose focus if you keep doing that, Angel.”

“Then come to bed. Sleep.”

“You know I can’t do that. Just a little more, baby.” A kiss. “I won’t be long.”

Angel huffed and buried their face in his shoulder, pouting.

David could feel their pout against his skin, and so he gave them a few more consolidation kisses.

Somewhere along the way Angel fell asleep, and David carried them to bed when he was done with his paperwork.

Just realized how long and how many series Redacted has. His dedication and work ethic has GOT to be studied because it’s amazing??? Mind you, I’ve only done Vincent (Vampire Prince) and I’m only on episode 8.

mmmmmmsam and darlin and they both have a voice kink (mdni)

for darlin it’s that growly grumbling, the way his voice rattles around his chest before escaping his lips, the way he says certain things, like calling himself daddy (ie “oh you like when daddy does that?” “you gonna do (blank) for daddy?”)

for sam it’s the familiarity and desperation in darlin’s voice. i think they can be tough as nails and stubborn and whatever but they definitely get all melty and whiny and needy when sam gets that tone with them or when they haven’t seen him in a while

and i know just a casual phone call has devolved into panting and moaning into the speaker for both of them. like, one will just be carrying out a conversation about their day or something non-consequential and they’ll ask a question only to be met with a choked response and rustling of clothes as the other tries to get off without being noticed

or especially shamefully, they’ll be loud on purpose, announce what they’re doing (“you hear what you’re doing to me?” “fuck keep talking”)

Darlin has the most devastating sad face.

They literally look like a kicked puppy.

They can usually hold back their emotions but when they got close with Sam and started letting him in, it slowly became harder to hide.

Because of this, the first time Darlin seriously cried in front of Sam it actually destroyed him.

He absolutely HATES when Darlin cries because it breaks his heart every time.

Even though he hates seeing them like that, he’ll never discourage them from crying. If that’s the only way his Darlin can express their emotions then he’s gonna be there to hold them the whole time.
