mertle was flustered. between her confusing feelings for fred, seeing zane again, and her corset being far too tight for comfortable breathing ... mertle felt like her head was spinning. she just wanted a fucking distraction from it all, a distraction from the stretch of her heart strings and the way the bow being drawn across them appeared to be RAZOR sharp, how confusing all of this was. this is why she didn't get attached. it was late, she knew that, but she found herself flying into the tavern... only to find it empty. she had walked her pretty fast, and she heaved a sigh as she looked up and spotted a familiar face behind the counter, cleaning up; harry.

Danny entered the bakery with a quick walk, his son had already wandered ahead and slipped in between other customer’s legs, darting among empty tables and chairs and deciding the bakery was a playground and not a place for people to eat. Danny was the exact same when he was growing up, his mother letting him wander and do whatever he wanted so now as an adult he assumed it was normal. He didn’t even watch Koda as he lined up to place an order, he only looked up when he heard a squeal of laughter that sounded like the boy. He quickly noticed Koda clearly recognizing someone sat on a far table. “Dude come on, people wanna eat.” he called, practically announcing to everybody in the bakery that he was as useless as he looked. Of course Koda didn’t return so Danny relinquished his place in line to wander closer. Then he spotted Dylan, taking a huge unlady like bite into her food.  He hadn’t been the easiest person to reach as of late, tucking himself away into his own corner of the world and trying to make sense of it at the same time. He wondered if she’d be annoyed to see him, if this would be the downfall he knew was coming. Danny noticed the icing sitting on the tip of her nose as he came to a stop at her table. “You uh...got a little something.” he said quietly, tapping the tip of his own nose with a tattooed finger. Then he just reached down and swiped the icing free with his thumb, confidently eating it and chuckling. “Can we sit or you got busy girl duties?”

her satchel was filled with ... found objects; small things she could swipe with klepto fingers without drawing too much attention to herself. the shelves she claimed for herself in the pawn shop were running low, and she was due for a restock. a harmless little walk on the town could result in groceries for the week — and zarina was in desperate need of groceries.

she was about to finish up, discretely shoving her latest find in the last open space in her bag, before she looked up and saw a familiar face. fawn. god, how did she go all this time without crossing her path and now she couldn't seem to turn a corner without seeing her ?? smiling delicately, trying not to seem too taken aback by being seen, zarina offered an awkward wave — proceeding to then clutch the strap of her bag. ❛ oh, hey fawn. what's up ?? ❜

I get what ji hyuk is going through with knowing he will probably die in a decade but tbh if I loved someone but knew they would die in ten years I would be pretty happy to spend a whole decade with them. Like dont let the fact that you could die deprive you both of having TEN WHOLE YEARS TOGETHER like maybe its not the rest of your life but I’d be pretty upset if I didn’t even get this relatively smaller amount of time with you bc you were too busy believing that it would ruin my life or whatever . you both already died anyways like . just find some happiness in the now .
