100 days are UP!?!

Apparently I REALLY wanted to press on, and thus, here we are

I didn't go too horribly fast at least but anyways, I'll at least pause for a bit of reflection before I continue on.

I have so much I need to untangle............

...if this really was the end, it sure would have been massively underwhelming- that is, if Eito's motive was just being a huge ecofascist- well, misanthrope mainly. Which I still think he is, but it's kinda... strange, since he seems to care for nothing in the world except gratification, not even justice or hell, even revenge. He's got some Junko element to him- like, everything was shite from the day he was born, and he was aware of it, but the way he describes it really made it seem like something was very wrong WITH him as well

(And that something is, what he really hates about Takumi...?)

Also despite the fact that nigh my entire party died in the assault against Eito's final form (except for Gaku!! He's saved my skin a few times now, good boy), I'm not entirely sure what's up with his special power besides summoning a bunch of Invaders. Which is kinda commander like, I suppose? Hold that thought, because Commanders and humans are said to be very similar- my early thoughts were that a human could become a Commander, rather than vice versa- my further thought was that it was Rejection Symptoms that caused a human to become a Commander

(Which is why I was a bit- no, a LOT- thrown by Moko basically just being a copy.............. that threw that theory out of the window, at least as far as Moko was concerned. Ngl, I was disappointed, but then I realised I would be redoing the 100 days- I already knew this, so I figured that whatever was going on with Rejection Symptoms and their consequences would come up in subsequent timelines)

Anyway, Eito's special skill has something to do with fortunes?? Which, I wonder if the Redo ability winds up affecting it, Madoka Magica style. I have a suspicion that Takumi's Cryptoglobin isn't the only thing that's going to be affected, given 'ghost boy's warning. Eito's may well be affected too, maybe Kako's as well- then again I don't know if the seer thing has anything to do with cryptoglobin

It sure is funny to me though, how Takumi has had this time-reversal ability ALL THIS TIME, and no one outside of him - and Sirei, naturally - has ever known about it. At least, I don't think he's even mentioned it, even passingly. What happens on the battlefield stays on the battlefield I assume, but that is so fucking weird. It's meta in a whole other way. Definitely going to be making note of this

Even more weird is when it came up in the main story THAT A COMMANDER HAD A SIMILAR, WEAKER ABILITY. I can tell this was here in part to foreshadow the Big Redo, but now I think of it... how was Takumi reacting to this, yk with having a FULL Redo ability?! I don't think I even paid much mind... what the fuck?!

THIS IS GIVING END OF DR2 AND V3 VIBES BOTH AT ONCE. One, about the 'making your own future', and as for V3, well... that's theory. That is- the ending was a bad one, something that they reached because they missed out on some critical information, as well as someone sabotaging them from within. Only, Hundred Line seems to have taken this theme to its next logical step:

GET THE NECESSARY INFORMATION TO UNDO A BAD FUTURE!

oof totally forgot about that. Yeah, I think Mark def should fill up those holes and worldbuild more 😬 I think an audience needs to know how a fictional universe works. What the rules are. Im not saying we should be given ALL the answers right-out (or even at all in some cases), I'm just saying it needs to be understandable in a way. Questions like: is actor corrupted/not really himself? if so what does that mean? What's the timeline? Did WKM take place in the 1930s? If so, what general years do the other videos take place? Is WMLW the 1930s or 70s? or something else entirely? What's Dark's goal exactly? What's Actor's goal? What's this universe's reality(in other words, how much of ADWM was an in-universe production, if at all)? Plus MANY more questions. I get that Mark wants the timeline to be jumbled and confused, but I feel like he should somehow have that, AND a comprehensible one. If that makes sense. Otherwise, to me personally, it's just poor world-building.

Yea I don’t think it should be answered all at once that seems to risky but something where it’s skewed into each episode of projects he does for this universe. I think some of them you can answer for yourself really it’s kinda just common sense stuff like for instance wkm takes place during the 1920s or late 1930s because the way they act and how they speak about things. And if things happened before 1920 William would be in WW1 right about now and if wkm happened before the 1920s it would be the Great Depression. I like to bring up the great gatsby a lot and wandavision cause it kinda gives off some jumping points to somewhat tie these plots holes together (not saying that any of these media’s copied eachother but it helps me make sense of the story I’m interested in lol) but anyways like wandavision each episode they go through a different decade from the 1950s to the present when in reality it’s only been a few days or weeks so I think when wmlw they’re in a 1970s universe on the outside it’s either the 1930s or whatever time it is. And Mark has stated that things that happen in the videos is all that’s happening. If there’s a jump cut or whatever there’s nothing in between that that’s what happening to them. Kinda like AGAIN like wandavision is when the episode ends everyone goes into a sleep state and awake when there’s a new episode!

I’m not too sure about actor darks goal tho... my only theory for darks goal is to kill Mark for this stuff to end but honestly no clue. And yea I really hate things being confusing sometimes but I also love confusing stuff instead of being spoon fed everything. I think what keeps FNAF so popular is that we haven’t figured out the whole story yet and new stuff comes out. More people want answers so they keep playing and buying to figure it out it’s kinda a good tactic to keep your hype alive. But other than that I wish Mark would kinda give us some answers cause I wanna know more about this universe and I love everything about it 😔. I give Mark credit tho for it even though it might be “poor world building” he’s still got the basis down and has actually interesting characters. Creating stories are a hard thing to do especially if you’re not specialized in it or it’s your first time so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. I’m sure as time goes on the story will get better I mean look how far it’s came!

I’m still kinda on the fence about it but I guess ultimately yay just because it was kinda fun.

When did you start watching Once, and do you remember why?

Uhhh. 2012/13? I rented the first seaon on dvd from Blockbuster while I had pneumonia. I picked it up because I have a soft spot for modern/different takes on fairy tales and legends and stuff.

What made watching Once worthwhile?

Regina’s journey from villain to hero. Henry and Regina’s relationship. The fact that even when things were really absurd, and full of plot holes the actors were still giving it their all.

First + Current Main Ships?

Swanqueen came first, now it’s them and dragon queen that count as my current main ships. Oh and probably curious archer.

First + Current Favourite character?

My first fav character was Emma. Back when she was the badass bailbonds-woman who wasn’t perfect but always tried and fought, and had the “are you kidding me?” normal person moments when confronted with the weird fairy tale stuff. Nowadays after how her character “grew” over the course of the show I just feel disappointment and anger. My current fav is definitely Regina. Tilly is pretty awesome though. And I have a soft spot for Zelena even though I hate some of the shit they did with her. 

Favourite arc (Why?)?

Queens Of Darkness! Even if they totally choked and didn’t fully explore it as much as it felt like they could have. I loved everything about Maleficent, and Lily, and how Good was not always Right. And Once was so good at giving their villains depth that they didn’t get in their original stories. I could and would watch a show that was just fairy tale villains working through their traumatic backstories. Fuck I would jump at the chance to help write a show like that even without any screenwriting experience.

Favourite plot twist?

I just blanked on everything that happens on the entire show trying to think of one. Ummm idk? finding out Rumple made the curse to find Baelfire? Zelena getting through the protective wards because she was Regina’s sister? Henry the Author?

Hardest death to watch?

Idk. Neal/Baelfire? Robin’s death sucked too. Merlin deserved better.

This character should have gotten more time?

LILY. And Also Maleficent. I can’t believe that they set up that whole idea of her carrying her potential darkness AND Emma’s and how she might finally have support to deal with that because her mum finally found her and was ready to give her ALL THE LOVE and they just never got seen again. That was fucked.

Also Ruby/Red. The show needed way more of her across the board. Sure it was on different scales for different reasons but she and Regina both had the whole living/trying to live as a good person even though they’d done horrific things story going on. Plus she was so caring. And gay.

So I cheated and said three but COME ON!

How do you summarize the show to your friends? (max. 3 sentences)

Fairy tale characters got cursed to live in the real world with no memory of their life before, until a ten year old who got adopted by the evil queen who cast the curse, finds his bio mum and convinces her to break the curse. They’re actually just a huge dysfunctional family. There is so much potential and Lana Parrilla will own your soul by the end of it.

Favourite Once specific trope (think Memory Wipe, Family Trees, Glowing Walkey-Talkey Hearts, Head Achey Timelines…)

How even the characters are like our family tree and all these different timelines are insane so lets just be super casual about how we talk about them because if we stop and think our heads will explode.

I get weirdly nervous in grocery checkout lines: I have no idea why. I don’t know if it’s like, the feeling of being trapped in a narrow space (if there’s someone behind you and ahead of you), or the like, awkward social chitchat that I am SUPER BAD AT or what but I get weird. I HAAAATE that the nearest grocery store to me does not have self check-out, and I put off grocery shopping to the last minute. I can improvise a speech in front of a crowd of hundreds, I can jump off high ladders, like, I’m not a naturally nervous person I swear I’m not. But grocery stores...

I once broke into an Irish autorepair shop: Sort of. It’s kind of a long story, but when I was a student in Cork like…8 years ago, they told me to stick to the flatlands and I took a wrong turn and got lost up in the hills and I kinda felt like these two guys who kind of showed up behind me were following me. I did the whole ‘take a couple of right turns’ and it went from two to four guys and I was getting more and more lost and just like NOOOOPE. And then there was trash can on fire and so I like, half-slid down a little cliff, and snuck through/over a chained shut fence and into what turned out to be a repair shop. There were three older guys sitting there eating pizza, and they just blinked at me so I burst out that hey, there was a trash can on fire (like that’s a reasonable reason to bust in, right?). They asked me if I was the one who set it on fire, I said no, they gave me pizza, we waited for the fire brigade. GOOD TIMES. That was the start of a super, super weird 72 hours.

I despise bananas in smoothies: DESPISE. They POLLUTE them, CONTAMINATING everything with awful, horrid, banana-ness. They are smoothie-ruiners. RUINERS. AWFUL, HORRIBLE, TERRIBAD INGREDIENTS OF EVIL. I like banana bread, and my mom’s banana cake, and can sometimes tolerate a banana-nut muffin, but they have no place in my strawberry-raspberry smoothies and they are intolerably smushy on their own. SHUDDER.

I have done a lot of super random jobs at least once: I’ve been a chemist, taught ballet to 6 year olds and figure skating to teens with special needs, charity auctioneer, corn shucker, lighting booth operator, teaching assistant, princess, storyteller, tutor, dining hall worker, medical transcriptionist, editor, corporate recruiter, automated tutorial/phone recording voice, corporate trainer, historical docent, term paper writer, contortionist, martial arts event coordinator, bookseller, video game voice, snake venom analyst (really that and perfumer were subsets of being a chemist, but, worth the callouts), there’s more but like, the list is long and random.

Last time I was in the airport a kid told me I was eating string cheese wrong. I told him that’s how string cheese is eaten on Mars. I recognize none of this make sense, it was 5 AM.

Six Wins and Draw This mostly gets to be here because it had a bunch of characters I had never written before! It was fun to write just a quick few paragraphs (if that) for them. I’d like to do something like this again, because it was much easier than trying to force something standalone for a group I’m not as comfortable with the characterization on.

Compliments I really like fluff. I like communication, and silliness, and sweetness. @juniperotome​ helped tremendously with this piece, but it really turned out to be one of my favs. I actually prefer this to Burn Down, which was fun and which I do like and was the other contender for this slot, but when I put them side by side, I like this one.

THE WAFFLE COTTAGE CHRONICLES (there’s more) This had been rattling in my head since 2016, but I didn’t post this until January 2017. This was my first headcanon shoving ALL OF THE LORDS into a single story. I recognize that it is very American-mindset-centric, but the sheer satisfaction of brain-dumping the beast was cathartic.I wrote 5000+ words in bullet point form in One Single Sitting and just, it was fun. I still think this is hilarious, even if it has issues.

Lick Your Wounds I still have lingering problems with this piece. And there’s a sort of dual fact thing going on - it could be so much better, but it is also the best that I have done, imo. Those are both facts to me. At this point, it’s a very frustrating piece to deal with XD but even when I am not entirely happy with it, I am very happy and very very touched by the response it has gotten, and so it gets a place. #makepuppyhappy

Scraps UGH THIS FIFTH SLOT. I mean. There’s no question this goes to a Kai group piece. I love writing the Kai group, it’s the most comfortable and it comes the most easily. I don’t like writing modern aus but they just sort of vomit out with these characters in a very love-hate way (I love that they have the opportunity to be happy without the specter of history looming, that’s about it – it’s complicated to explain).

Favorite Moment in the game so far OH MAN. HMM. I am going to be unoriginal and echo Mrs O – Nobunaga being a matchmaking troll is A+, but I do also love KEnshin and Shingen’s letter to Nobunaga in the ES where MC starts with them but falls in love with Nobu and they are basically like, be nice to her and let her come visit or DEATH TO YOU

Which voice do you like the most? MRS O I SWEAR I AM NOT COPYING but Kenshin/Mitsuhide are flat tied. Whispery and low, swoooon

Who do you think you are most compatible with? None of ‘em. I enjoy watching their romance unfold with story MC, but as actual self, there are zero combos that would work out favorably for both parties based on what I’ve seen so far.

Which warlord appeals to your aesthetics? Sasuke. Dude. Sasuke.  

Which warlord makes you the most frustrated? Hmmm! Tough to say. Maybe Kennyo? Only because it’s seems from what we’ve seen that he is very much going against himself for some reason, and it’s hurting him and that is silly. Don’t do that.

Who would you swear loyalty to, the Oda forces, the Uesugi-Takeda forces, or Third Party forces? NNNNNGH. Oda. If I HAD to. Only because there’s a stronger sense of long-term stability and history. But ideally, none of the above. I would be NEUTRAL TERRITORY opening up a little seamstress shop somewhere in the middle that also serves tea and everyone is welcome to come have snacks, tea and fittings but only if they don’t fight XD (or at least take it outside, and no one dies)

BONUS: Mrs O’s Q: If you had to tell one warlord what happened to them in your own original timeline, who would it be and why? Nobunaga. Because what happened to him can’t yet come to pass in his timeline, so it’s moot. He’s shown to accept knowledge with aplomb so I don’t think it would send him into an existential spiral. He could handle it.
