ok but my mind keeps coming back to those 7 years. To me alastor was clearly topside being a menace to society on earth and there are a few thing that are living in my mind rent free now

1) how long took him to commit his first murder when he tuned in to modern radio stations (those who cut the song in the middle, have the tacky sound effects and go THE BEST RADIO SATION, THE ROCK STATION ETC)

2) his stance on podcasts. I know from his beef with vox that he knows what they are and thinks they are bootleg radio shows BUUUUUT

3) I’m sure he knows everything about what went down on the frenemies podcast and has insane beef with trisha paytas. Hell he might even caused the insane beef that killed the podcast!

Hmmm. I don't know about that. I think even though they all started with concepts they discarded any company assigned roles for them some where along the line because it didn't suit them and they couldn't keep up with it.

With Vmin I used to think if those two weren't good friends they could be the biggest frenemies on earth and their dynamic would be predisposed to envy and jealousy, unnecessary competition and drama. We don't say this out loud but I think we all can sense it.

Deep down I think they both know this too.

I think it's why they put in so much effort internally and externally to prevent that from happening to them. You should watch a video of Taehyung crying on stage and pouring out his heart because Jimin was there for him in one of the most difficult moments of his life when his grandma passed.

If that confession was staged and faked i'm sorry he is going straight to the pits of hell. And I don't know the metrics for determining the authenticity of their friendship but to me the mere fact that Tae goes to Jimin for emotional support at his lowest and is willing to share his vulnerability with Jimin when he's scared of ghosts in the middle of the night or ask of him the first thing in the morning when he wakes up in soop is a sign of lowered emotional boundaries on his part and you dont lower your walls unless you feel safe to do so around someone- give him an Oscar he certainly fooled me had me believing he liked him so much he might have developed actual gay feelings for him somewhere along the line. Like Jimin and Jhope, Tae is actually very warm at his core.

If you want people JM allows himself to be vulnerable with V is on top of the list, followed by Hobi and V. It all depends on who you think he spends most of his time around and since he used to spend a lot of time around Jungkook we have a tendency to place Kook on top of his list simply because they have more vulnerable moments together. But there are certain things he shares with Tae and even Hobi that he doesn't share with Jungkook first.

And sometimes Jungkook is not the one he reaches out to first when he needs emotional support. And I reckon he has other friends he keeps private and we don't know what he does with those. Similarly Tae has other friends and isn't really private about those friendships like Jimin.

All that comes to play and at the end of the day whether or not you think their friendship is genuine depends on your definition of friendship.

From personal experience, I had friends whom I loved dearly and deeply and to some extent I still do but want nothing to do with them. In fact, I will fly to Mars on a strawmat just to get away from them. Because while I was busy loving them from my heart they let envy and jealousy sip in and I didn't realize till they did the most damage to me.

These days I tell the few friends I have, let's talk about it. It's okay if you're Jealous of me. I won't hate you for it. It's okay if I feel envious of you too just as long as we are not acting on these feelings and we talk about it and not let it push us to sabotage eachother and hurt each other. Jealousy and envy are human weaknesses. It's usually a sign we've been victims of injustices and unfair treatments on cosmic levels. Life isn't fair and some of us will be dealt the short end of the stick. As long as those with the longer sticks are compassionate and not condescending we can all learn to heal.

I feel that's what people don't understand about BTS or even about Vmin. It's not as if they don't know all these things, it's not as if they don't see some are loved more by fans or the company or that some are blessed or that some are slacking- they deal with it.

They help each other deal with it. And that is the strength of Vmin.

You don't think it's ironical Vmin have a vmin letter and years later Jikook develop a letter too mirroring the concept of vmin's letters?

I don't know.

May be I'm just too optimistic and a bit naive I must say and yall see something I don't see. But to me it's not about the ghettoness between them, it's about the way they process these negative feelings and deal with them when they arise.

Someone mentioned Tae complaining about JM stealing the spotlight, but what did JM say right after? He said to Tae you could have come to me to talk to me about this. Look how nurturing that is. He says he values communication and as a Libra myself I can't stress how much important I feel communication is.

I don't know. I love their dynamic. I think their relationship isn't all rainbows and sunshine but a lot of work has gone into it. And there is still more room for improvement. They've come this far so why not see it through to the end.

They should keep being mindful and intentional about their relationship. It's THEE VMIN. Things will work out.

So I’m just going to give you most of the scene that I had already teased for you instead of my favorite dialogue because I think that’s what you’d prefer so hope you don’t mind ;)

“Cirán, you cannot be serious!” Haldir exclaims as he struggles against the other elf’s hold preventing from marching back into surgery.

“You would leave my brother in the hands of an apprentice with this?” His voice is tight in outrage.

“Chief Marchwarden!” Cirán snaps. “She’s recent to us here in The Golden Wood, but not to her skills. Marchwarden,” their voice then softens, “Haldir, please, Rúmil is in good hands with her. She recognized the symptoms as soon as the rider came and has been preparing the whole hours since. Please, let us work.”

Haldir bites his tongue as he watches the unknown elleth cut open the dressing he’d wrapped himself around the jagged wound on his brother’s chest and side and begin flushing it with a mix of clean water and a pungent brew of dark herbs, only some of which he recognized.

Haldir takes a shaky breath and reluctantly nods before forcing himself to step back and off to the side. He clenches his jaw and sits in the chair provided by Cirán before the healer goes back to assisting with the work ahead.

Haldir, The Lady’s voice sounds clear in his head, startling him from his thoughts. Celeborn tells me the patrols have destroyed the orc holdout responsible and are bringing in the poisoned blades to the healers for inspection. Expect them in the hour. I have already let Nestál know, as well. How is Rúmil fairing?

Haldir closes his eyes and takes a short moment before responding, attempting to will away some of the latent adrenaline and underlying panic in his body.

No worse than before we set off, my Lady. The new healer apparently has seen something similar before and she’s taken the lead in his healing, he responds.

Ah, slight amusement and warmth filters through their óswanë link. Yes, I imagine she has. She pauses before adding.

Haldir, rest. Let the healers take care of Rúmil. Orophin is on his way in from the south outpost, as well. You take care of our people well, let them help you. Take this time to be with your brothers, we’ll hold steady until you return.

Haldir flounders for what to say and his hands clutch at his own over cloak now torn in three separate places and soaked through with his own brother’s blood. He wants to argue but knows he can’t. There is nothing for him to argue against, except perhaps his own stubbornness and sense of duty.

Men being toxic but still getting away with it because they’re “protecting” a person (esp women) from something they didn’t understand and they end up being “right” in some way. Gross -10000/10

Love triangles - just make everyone queer and/or poly; solves all the goddam problems imo. (This is why I like Iron Widow so much) But I mostly hate this because the woman is a Plot Device and not a good one or she seems like the bad person because two men both decide not to leave her alone which is bs.

Bonus tropes I LOVE: found family, there was only one bed/room, hurt/comfort/whump fics and the wound stitching and begging those not to die that comes with it, holiday fics

hummelberry superiority: an essay by me (1/?)

sup peasants. i’m here to talk to you about why rachel berry and kurt hummel had the best friendship on glee.

so, for those of you who say their friendship came out of nowhere, you really need to watch the show again.

they had so many (minor) moments in season one that imma talk about.... and here’s a compilation for those who want it (https://youtu.be/L9nfP0ZkqzY).

so their relationship began as enemies the annoying girl who thinks she’s better than everyone vs the depressed gay who’s tired of her shit.

there are clear instances of rachel pissing kurt off in the pilot (her stroking his face and trying to take control of everything) and in wheels when they were both fighting over the solo.

1x11 hairography is, in my opinion, where their tolerance for each other. kurt was, admittedly, a bit of a dick towards her throughout this episode but his crush on finn is a whole other story that made him go batshit that we won’t be getting into today.

but they had a really sweet, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment after all the drama. once they’d mutually agreed that neither of them had a chance with finn (oh kurt if only you knew), they catch each other staring at finn/quinn and give each other a little wave. i think realising they were in the same boat gave them a newfound respect for one another.

after that moment, they’re both still blatantly in loathe with each other, but they’re more open with their admiration for one another - take kurt admitting rachel was their star in 1x13). kurt gets mad when jesse hurts rachel and they’re also seen dancing together quite a lot which, if you ask me, isn’t something you willingly do with someone you supposedly hate...

anyway, on to season two where they decided “hey, this fucking disaster of a person isn’t all bad” and started getting along.

this begins in 2x04 duets when rachel, bizzarely, develops emotions and is the only one who notices kurt is feeling down. she goes to talk to him and says some really beautiful things about him not being alone and how everyone in the glee club loves him. this shows that rachel has always had that respect for him, she’s just never shown it until that moment.

they sing a very sweet duet (a broadway song i bet you only the two of them knew) and solidify the frenemies stage of their relationship :)

and then a few episodes later, kurt says “we hate each other but we’ve had our moments” meaning they don’t hate each other at all. rachel even admits that the only reason they never got on when kurt was in the new directions is because he was her “only real competition”. rachel fought against him for solos, not because she’s a bitch who just hated kurt, but because despite knowing she was the best, she knew kurt was good and could potentially steal away her spotlight.

she also helps him with his solo and i think the reason why is one example of why they know each other so well: kurt is trying so hard to fit into dalton and rachel spent so long trying to fit in at mckinley.

and can we just mention that we’ve reached the sleepover stage? they’re besties and they don’t even know it.

they’re not 100% closeness yet though, seeing as kurt’s natural sneaky sort-of-two-faced personality comes to life during 2x14 silly love songs, but that’s mainly down to bad writing and his crush on blaine (remember what i said about finn earlier? batshit, i’m telling you).

and then glee forgets every other kurt relationship in favour of a few klaine eps, which is aLSO NICE !!

but when we get back to hummelberry, it’s kurt’s turn to help her and he does so because he loves and cares for her, even tho he doesn’t say ily until seaon 3.

and then we get the season 2 finale and the first ep of season 3 which are both such hummelberry episodes and just prove that they understand each other the most, which is something i’ll get into in the next part of this essay.

okay yeah so this accidentally turned into a timeline of them season 1-2 relationship, but i think it proves that their friendship didn’t just come out of nowhere.

Abandoned by the Night's Watch, Catelyn and her children will see their only wish of safety lies even further north, beyond the Wall structure, where they fall in to the hands of Mance Rayder, the King-beyond-the-Wall, and get a dreadful glimpse of the inhuman others as they strike the wilding encampment. In Game of Thrones' most infamous picture - the Red Wedding - perhaps the most viscerally terrible moment arrived when Robb's young wife Talisa (Jeyne Westerling in the books) was stabbed to death through her very pregnant stomach. George R.R. Martin, author of the A Song of Snow and Open fire series that the television megahit Game of Thrones is based on, said simply, We are all still walking in Bilbo's footsteps.
