Have you read taq’s translations (well… mostly a translation) of Mai’s story in the JJK’s 2nd Light novel?

I know it isn’t technically official and all, but it was still a nice read and the characters seem to be very true to themselves. It’s a little nice adventure focusing on Mai a bit. Which is always nice in my book.

I actually loved reading this, not to pat myself on the back or anything but it feels like my read of Mai was accurate, from what little screentime she gets in the proper series considering how much this adds to her character. 

Number one is that there is a lot of dualism at work with Maki and Mai’s character, and just to clarify I’ve said before I hate the way the twist about twins in the Jujutsu World makes them share cursed energy, and treats them like the same person. Dualism is different than that. By dualism I mean: 

Yin and Yang is a concept of dualism; all things have two facets: a Yin aspect and a Yang aspect; nothing is purely good or purely bad. The two qualities oppose each other while at the same time complement each other.

Dualism symbolism can be used for regular siblings too, there’s a trope on TVtropes called, Sibling Yin-Yang. A lot of the friendships like Itadori and Megumi, or Satoru and Suguru represent dualism too. Maki and Mai also play with dualism between their characters, and I believe the ideas represented by them are the “stronger” sibling and the “weaker” sibling. However, their narrative is a subversion of that, because they both have strengths and weaknesses and Mai’s belief that she is weak is just a perception she holds for herself. But anyway, speaking of the dualism the story starts out right away bringing up two concepts “Beautiful, and Ugly.” 

With the beautiful comes the ugly and in the long expanse of history, the good and the bad are mixed together and dye the earth. Tradition and rigidity, family and feuds. Sorcerers and curses. To someone who can see through to the ugliness behind, these streets cannot be said to simply be beautiful. Kyoto’s colors are born from tradition and they annoy Mai, which is why she has been displeased for the short time since they’ve all returned from Tokyo.

The last two lines are especially telling of Mai’s character, Maki says herself she has a bad attitude but unlike Mai she is more of a positive thinker, thinking she can overcome the adversity of her clan and climb to greater heights. Mai on the other hand, tends to dwell in the negative, not only negative thoughts about herself, but her desire to “fall down” she has an incredibly low self image and it comes across in her caustic personality, and how she seems perpetually agitated. 

The story also establishes quickly where Mai’s self image comes from, she’s internalized a lot because of what the clan says about her. I would say Maki is more self-oriented, while Mai is more other people oriented, first in the way Mai values perosnal relationships more and second because of how oversensitive she is to the opinions of others underneath her feigning indifference. 

“Maki’s results during the event notwithstanding, she managed to buy time against the special grade and contributed a weapon. There’s rumors that she’ll be up for promotion. I wonder if this news has already reached home.” Miwa and Nishimiya exchange a troubled glance. Mai laughs softly. “I wonder what they’ll say to me, who, unlike Maki, has a cursed technique but went up against her and lost.”

Mai’s self image also comes across with how much she belittles her own accomplishments, even when she is acting selflessly or accomplishes something she constantly downplays herself. When Miwa and Nishimaya are trying to be more positive towards Mai or compliment her, Mai can’t really even receive those compliments. 

“But I’m surprised, Mai-chan, that you saved this kid before.” Mai closes her eyes. “I said, it was just a Fly Head.” “If it’s just a Fly Head then you could have just left it. You didn’t have to help her.”

“Even if it’s mostly harmless, seeing something as ugly as that doesn’t make you feel good. But honestly, I do kind of regret helping her.”

The chapter uses a lot of visual symbolism tied to the eyes, like the fact that Mai could see curses when she was growing up while Maki could not, or the fact that Mai’s fear of curses came from the fact she could see them everywhere, and her dependence on Maki from the fact Maki could be brave and support her scared sister. 

However, Mai tends to dwell as I said, she lets the ugliness of cursed spirits ruin any of the beautiful sights. It is interesting to compare them, Maki can’t see cursed spirits but she can be brave. Maki however, tends to be blind to other aspects, like her sisters feelings towards her or even the people around her as she has an entirely self-centered focus. Mai tends to be really aware of the things around her, knowing herself and others, knowing her sister. Mai is aware of her own fear and weakness, and constantly troubled by it. 

Since she was born, Mai has been surrounded by terror. It’s unclear how many times she’s hated that she was born with the ability to see Curses. The blue skies are gorgeous, the colors of the streets are brilliant but it is not all beauty. If she hadn’t been born into a family of sorcerers, hadn’t known that the world was cursed… Her eyes might have only seen beautiful things.

If there is something Mai is incapable of seeing though constantly dwelling in the negative of everything, and exposed to the ugliness of the world around her is that she can’t see the own good in herself. Even when she is trying to be brave, or trying to keep a promise to someone else, Mai can’t simply admit it. She always finds some excuse or way to frame herself in a negative light, and once again Mai has a lot of internalized toxicity from the Zenin clan. It’s important to remember the differences in their circumstances, Maki left the clan to become her own person, while Mai remained in the clan left behind, she’s still forced to cater to the expectations of everyone around her. 

She believed her, believed that lightly made promise. And it is the image of that foolish young girl that Mai cannot stand. That is why she’s going. There’s no point in believing, promises are made to be broken, and to be the one to show that—It’s just that she doesn’t like it.

Mai’s incredibly self-aware, and aware of her own weakness, but this isn’t an entirely bad quality because unlike Maki, Mai knowing how weak she is can ask for help from the people around her. There’s a contrast in Maki’s only female friendship Nobara being based around Nobara’s admiration for her strength, whereas Mai, Miwa, and Nishimaya share weaknesses with each other. Nobara and Maki are paired up in the Kyoto Battle and the Shibuya arc and Nobara runs off to fight alone both times. Mai is too weak to fight on her own, but she asks for help and has good cooperation with her friends, and also they like hang out and stuff. 

It’s not enough. With just the wind and the bullets, they can’t hold it back. Mai as she is right now doesn’t have the strength to land that final blow. But that’s fine. Because she never thought that she would win on her own. All this time, she’s been waiting down this corridor. “You can take it from here can’t you, Kasumi?” “New Shadow Style. Simple Domain”

Mai’s weakness is that she’s more dependent on others, but it’s also her strength, she forms deeper relationships with people. That’s the attitude of the Koyoto students in general, their life as Jujutsu Sorcerers make it harder to connect, connection may be a weakness or a hazard but they want to connect.

alitm was such a book idk if i can fit all my thoughts into one post im on mobile and it wont let me put the little red more things so this is your warning, i have the post tagged but still, be warned there are major spoilers for alitm

anyways i loved alitm this may not be a popular opinion but i thought it was amazing and a perfect end to the series. it fucking broke me oh my god. on one hand it was amazing writing and i loved it ON THE OTHER HAND WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE IT THAT SAD.

bristlefrost im so sorry i ever said anything bad aboutyou you are the paragon of perfection, the best cat in the whole world and i hope they name 50 cats after you.

i want to imagine bristlefrosts death ended up sort of like the epilogue of firewing. she wont be in starclan but shes still there in spirit and shes always watching over the clans. i am 100% sure she knew that rootspring was willing to chabge clans for her, i think they both did and GODAMNIT THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN HAPPY AND HAD KITS. i have cried 5 times since i read it. her death scene was beautiful, so poetic and i loved it and i hated it. BUT THEY KEPT ON PILING ON THE GRIEF. its tearing me to shreds to think tht shes not even in starclan, she gave up her life, her spirit, and her future with rooyspring to save the clans and for that she has earned a place in my favorite warriors cats.

shadowsight also was great this book, im so happy about how everything was tied up at the end, i was worried the erins wouldnt do it but i thought it was great and im so glad shdowisght can just move on.

graystripes death was sad but also im so glad he gets to be with his family again, he and firestar were so gay this book. speaking of firestar im so glad they brought back his personality from the first arc. he kicked darkstripes ass and he kicked it good. im so glad they brought back how his main perosnality traits were 1. loved violence and 2. really fucking petty and nosy

also i am convinced. I AM CONVINCED. that the scene at the end where rootspring tries to reach bristlefrost and sees the image of them under a willow tree? and with their kits? and runjing through the forest? thats bristlefrost. it has to be. it cant just be a coincidence that she also imagined them under a willow tree, and with three kits, and running through the forest. it cannot be.

im sorta disappointed that snowtuft didnt get a proper death scene, but it was cool that we got to see other dark forest cats. i thought ashfur was a really great villain still, and i LOVED the scene where needletsil and violetshine beat the shit out of darktail. he totally deserved it.

im sad squirrelflight wasnt in the final battle though. the speech graystripe gave from her was great but also i think she shoulve given it herself.

im so happy theyre changing the code, its long overdue. i think the lesson of this book is that bristlefrost is the best and everyone should love her. she should have been on the cover. bramblestar barely even showed up

i loved her sacfrifice, it really was worth it and it was beautifully written, but also im getting way to worked up over this and im fucking miserable that shell never gt to see that it was her who saved the clans, it was her determination that inspired dark forest cats to fight on their side, and it was her loved with rootspring that encouraged them to change the code. shes so wonderful and i loved her so much. bristleforts is the only warrior cat ever.

over all 12/10 just for bristlefrost. i might follow up on this post

The hate he felt for his other clients, was nothing compared to how he felt about you. But maybe him liking you, isn’t the best possible outcome.

Working with over pampered celebrities was his expertise. He knew all the in and outs of this industry, but he had too. As much as he hated the people he worked with, he was still getting paid to protect them with his life. In order to do so he needed to know every possible outcome of every possible situation. And that hatred for those other clients built a pit of anger and despair in his stomach as he walked closer to the door. The thought of meeting the shitty person behind almost made him change his mind and walk away. But that key word almost is something big that should be taken into consideration. With a deep breath, San swallowed his pride and proceeded to make his presence known to those in the room.

A few sets of eyes shifted towards his direction and the only thing he could do is bow his head. Within a second those in the room turned back to their original conversation and paid the man in the comer no mind as he stared off aimlessly through the window. It was oddly strange that no one was rushing up to him, or pointing him towards the one person he was sworn to protect. This whole ordeal was causing a pit to rise in his stomach, and his gut feelings were always right.

“She has to be on set in ten minutes! Where is she!” One of the women in the dressing room bellowed out loudly as she checked her watch for the third time. Her eyes acted as if they were gonna pop out of her skull at any given moment. And that made San’s blood run cold. Was this mystery lady about to be another pain in his ass, were you somehow even more of a spoiled, entitled bitch then he had thought? Should San give up this opportunity right here, right now.

Another lady in the room, that he assumed was an assistant, came up behind the previous woman and tried to soothe her. Small back rubs and encouraging words did not seem to do the trick, as he watched her hissy fit continue to unfold in front of him. The assistant took a shaky breath into her lungs before she spoke, “Listen, Y/n has never let you down before! I promise, it’s probably just traffic that’s keeping them.”

Ah, so his client is the famous Y/n, who is known for her more villainous roles on the silver screen. If you’re anything like you’re characters, he’s gonna take that as a big red flag. But before he could form more of an obnoxious opinion on you, the dressing room door was being pushed open. Rather harshly as it made San stumble about, before he could reach for the gun that was hidden within the confines of his jacket just as his fingertips grazed the holster, he was met with pleading eyes. That was just begging for some peace at that moment.

“Oh my god, I’m so sorry, I didn’t even realize you were standing there.” The voice was panicked as you rushed to his aid. Your eyes as wide as they’d go as you looked over his arm. Almost as if you were more worried about the built man in the corner then your own safety. As you had walked up to a complete stranger without inspecting more of your surroundings. “Are you okay, do you need anything?”

San’s curiosity spiked just by watching you interact with him, as you’ve known each other since you were kids. Your soft hands rested on his bicep as you tried to inspect for any injuries that you may have caused. And he found it quite cute when reliziation hit you, and you tried to make the distance between two of you greater. You were invading his personal space, and he appreciates you backing off. But before he could even answer your questions, the assistant from before harshly shoved her shoulder into his.

“Y/n, where the hell were you! Sasha has been panicking like crazy!” San felt his eye twitch at the high pitched voice of the assistant. They could have been nicer with this whole ordeal, it’s not that hard to ask a question. But instead this lady wanted to raise her voice and practically spit in your face, and then have the audacity to get mad when you took a few moments to answer. “You’ve got a voice, don’t you?”

“Amber I’m so sorry I was late, but traffic was terrible and random cars kept following me.” You explained as you tried to put down your purse. When you made eye contact with him, for some reason it felt nice and familiar. Even though you know for a fact you have never met this man in your life. “I promise this won’t happen again.”

“It better not, or you can kiss any letter or recommendations goodbye.” Sasha stormed out of the dressing room and dragged Amber along with her. A saddened look on her face as they simply brushed right passed you. “You have less than ten minutes to get ready for the scene.”

You harshly rubbed your hands down your face as you took in a deep breath. All these doubtful thoughts of the movie started racing in, and you wondered if this was all worth. Getting treated like trash just because you were late one time, and then threatening to trash your name up and down the boulevard. “I’m so sorry, I don’t know why Amber decided to take her anger out on you.”

“You say sorry too much, besides that hit felt like nothing.” San slightly smiled as he tried to keep the conversation small. Those two were already pissed and he doesn’t want you getting into any more trouble. He cleared his throat loudly as he started towards the door. “I will just step outside and let you get ready. Just knock on the door three times and we’ll head down to the set.”

Before he could step out the door, you held out your hand. A small gesture, that he was not used to at all. He was used to getting yelled at to guard the doors and make sure no pervert is snooping through the windows. His wrinkled eyebrows gave away his confusion as he eyed your hand just a little bit longer than necessary. The small rings that glittered in the light complimented your hand nicely, everything seemed to compliment you nicely. “Just so we’re starting off on the right foot, I’m Y/n, and I’m going to guess that you’re Choi San my new bodyguard.”

It was oddly strange how the first interaction with you had San’s heart beating a little faster than normal. He was so used to being with distasteful people, that didn’t care about anyone but themselves. But truth be told everything felt different when it came to you. You apologize profusely even when things weren’t your fault, you never raise your voice and you’re always so kind. Even to some of the dumb people that over step their boundaries, but that’s his job to pay attention to those types of people. It’s his job to protect you and yet it seems like you’d lay it all on the line to protect him.

He’d never admit it to anyone, but he does feel a connection. A connection that runs deeper than a simple coworker type of relationship, but at the same time he knows this has to stay strictly in the business type of situation. But at this moment it’s not like he could act on these so-called feelings, as your manager had other plans for your own love life. Which was stupid in his opinion, as you were your own perosn and you didn’t deserve to be treated like that.

“Don’t they just look fantastic together!” Sasha gushed beside him as she looked at her new couple. You were standing there semi awkwardly as the dude proceeded to put his arm around your waist. But it started to drift lower and lower and San could feel his blood boil within. Before he could even step one foot forward, you calmly removed his arm altogether. Within a second Sasha had to put her two cents in once more. “Y/n, stop! That pose is perfect, it shows how close you two are!”

“No offense, Sasha, but Chan and I barely know each other.” You forced a tight lipped as Chan’s hand tried to rub soothing circles on your hip. This relationship is just PR for the new movie you two are, but it felt so grimy. Lying to your fans just so they’ll buy a ticket and waste their own money on you. Just because they see the two main characters getting close with one another.

“I mean you could always take me up on my offer, and go on a date with me.” Chan smiled flirtatiously at you as he twisted your body to face him. His eyes staring longingly into your while his hands began to move to your lower back. Then he leaned over to whisper in your ear so that no one could hear. “Besides, if you have a good time at dinner, maybe we can have some more fun back at my hotel room.”

You kept your mouth shut because you knew that if you opened your mouth vomit would cover him from head to toe. But it seems like that decision was already made for you, as Sasha’s eyebrows quirked up at the idea. The idea of her two leading costars getting flirty at a candle lit dinner. It would drive the press crazy which in result would drive up so much more buzz about the movie. “That’s perfect, Amber will have everything set up by tonight!”

Dread filled your entire body at the thought of having to spend a night with him. You know it’s for press, and you know it’s for the fans, but still it’s the thought is stomach turning. But beside you, Chan, was having the opposite reaction. One of his eyebrows were cocked in and he wore a sly smirk. You could tell that his stomach was filled with something else than bile, like yours was. His fingertips brushed against your chin, as he pulled your face a little closer. His lips barely brushed against yours, as he softly spoke. “I’ll see you tonight sweetheart.”

You watched him walk away as you tried to keep your composure, but it was hard. Dealing with a guy like him was terrible. They never took social cues, or read the room in any way. The only thing that filled their blown up head of getting laid. Quickly slipping away you tried to make it back to the dressing room without anyone noticing, but you knew that you’d always have a shadow.

“Why can’t they have his girlfriend in the show go on a date with him! I’m his rival, what good is gonna come from this.” You huffed lightly as you turned to face the man that followed you. “I’m sorry you probably don’t wanna hear all my complaining.”

“Talking helps, and it’s obvious you need someone to listen.” San shrugged his shoulders as he took a seat on the plush couch, but he tried to keep a respectable distance between the two of you. “And I’m your bodyguard. I'm here to help with any problems you might have, so lay it on me.”

For once someone actually cared to listen to what you have to say. It felt like a wave of relief washed over you, because you felt safe having this conversation with him. You hoped that after this you two would have more conversations, because seriousness isn’t needed every second of the day. You just hoped he felt that way too.

“Let’s hope this doesn’t take long.”

“Don’t worry sweetheart, I’m all ears no matter how long it takes.”

You lightly patted down the bottom of your dress as you started walking towards the elevator. Chan had asked you to meet him down in the lobby, because he said he has a small surprise. Even though you know you needed to focus on the man you’re about to go on a date with you couldn’t. As cliche as it sounds you couldn’t stop your mind from wandering to San. The poor guy who has his ear talked off for over an hour, just by you complaining about Chan. But he still listened, his eyes were alert with every single word that passed through your lips. You sighed heavily as the elevator dinged showing that you were now on the right floor.

“You look stunning.” Chan said, surprisingly nice. Without the hint of any sexual undertones to it. You smiled slightly as you gripped his outstretched hand. He may be acting nice now, but you know you never should let that guard down tonight. Here’s to two hours of your life that you’re never gonna get back.

“You’re not gonna be quiet the whole dinner are you?” Chan jokes as he tries to nonchalantly sip his drink. His eyes stared back into yours with curiosity swimming in them, but he waited patiently for your answer. “Hmm?”

“I’m just looking through the menu right now,” You tried to keep yourself busy as long as possible. Because no offense to him, but you could feel your brain cells deteriorating the more you spoke to him. All you wanted to do was go back to your room and go to sleep. For once sleep seems a lot more interesting than keeping a conversation going with this man. You bit back the urge to laugh as you heard him huff.

“For fifteen minutes? Damn, I didn’t realize picking a meal could be that hard.” His words made your head pulse with a headache every time he decided to speak. But the stupid look on his face made it clear that he thought his words were just conversational pieces. And it took all the willpower in your body to not chuck the wine in your glass at him. But he didn’t seem to care as he started to scroll aimlessly through his stupid phone.

The moment the waiter came over you quickly rushed your order out of your mouth. The sooner you say it the sooner it might come, and the sooner you can leave this ass in the restaurant. Throughout dinner you could feel eyes staring holes into the back of your head. But every time you tried to catch a glimpse of them, they’d always disappear. Your soul nearly left your body as a rough hand was placed upon your shoulder.

“You need to leave, right now.” San has a calm demeanor, but you could tell something was wrong by the sternness in his voice. Chan eyed him worriedly, as he watched him out his arm around your waist. Before you two even stepped one foot out of the restaurant he placed his jacket over your head. You assumed it was to protect you from the rain. “Keep your head down, and walk as fast as you can. I’ll explain everything when we’re in your hotel room.”

You listened without a second thought as you raced back to your room. Ignoring the pain in your ankles from your high heels digging into them harshly. The only thing on your mind was the way San’s hands rested protectively rested on your waist. Before you stepped into the hotel you noticed all the vans that were starting to surround the restaurant and many different people emerged from them. Paparazzi, along with fans seemed to camp out in front of the restaurant. Now you were glad to be in the safe walls of San’s hotel room.

“Chan sent a tweet exposing your location and people started to figure out the hotel you were staying at as well. So I knew I needed to get you out of there as soon as possible.” Of course that dumb ass tweeted out where you two were. But then again it doesn’t surprise you, he’s always been one who loves any type of attention that he could receive. “Maybe it’s best you stay in my room tonight, just in case any fans put two and two together.”

“I really don’t want to be a bother, and besides you have to deal with me enough.” You tried to waive off his offer, even though you knew this was a good idea. You were safer with him no matter. And the thought of someone getting into your hotel room scared the hell out of you.

“Once again, it’s my job to protect you no matter what. And besides Chan is still at the restaurant they’re gonna follow him, and I’d rather not have the thought of you alone on my mind. So please just stay.” San pleaded as he tried to fix the spare bed. Making sure it was comfortable enough for you to sleep in. He smiled slightly as you gave a quick nod, before announcing that you were going to return to your room for a change of clothes. He knew at that moment you were too nice for your own good, and he’s going to have to step up his game in order to keep you safe.

San didn’t understand what came over him that night. Watching you shake slightly under your cover was tearing him to pieces and he doesn’t know why. He doesn’t understand why he’s even having these feelings all together, considering you were supposed to be a job, not anything else. But he picked Chan’s lock without a second thought and proceeded to show him why exposing your location was a bad idea. Chan’s room was unrecognizable, by the time San was down with it.

Glass shattered in every direction, piles of it littered the floor. Multiple pieces of his clothes were ripped and torn straight from the seams. His bed was turned upside down, with the sheets thrown across the room. Hopefully this gets San’s message across, but he’d be more than happy to take this straight to Chan’s face.

Okay, but it’s not one person, it’s several. I said a friend, but that friend interacts with many like minded folks. I’ve seen it all. I understand what’s going on. I may not be in the fandom, but I’ve witnessed from afar. I’ve seen enough to understand the basics, something you still clearly lack.

Fine, if it wasn’t you, then I take it back that on this occassion, it wasn’t you, tho I’m still doubtful with how much I’ve seen of you and how many enemies you’ve made. It’s not farfetched to assume it’s you. Point still stands tho; don’t shame content creators for making content. Just say you dislike the ship and go (which is 100% valid btw, and if people hate you for it, then those are bad eggs you avoid).

Yeah but... it’s still canon, like, pretty much... While it’s not in your face “I love you”, it’s clear what the intentions are meant to be. One of the VAs did a whole stream, and in one moment, he was asked what he wished he could’ve said that didn’t make it into the game, the line being something along the lines of “we would’ve been great together.”

Sure, VAs are not the creators of the game, but this goes in par with a statement about how the Shuake relationship is supposed to be a love story. It’s not pretty, Goro being an antagonist who is problematic, but... ships are allowed to be problematic. And he even changes and becomes a better person, because of Joker.

Sorry, but that’s false. There are plenty of multi-shippers out there who don’t just “tolerate” other ships but downright engage with it. My friend is one of them, and she even has friends who also don’t like Shuake. What do they do? They mute it and move on, and nothing else is said on the matter. If you’re seeing people that are doing otherwise, then yet again, maybe avoid them and find people who won’t shit on you, which by the way, you seem to bundling all these people in a bucket and labelling them “problematic” when they’ve done nothing wrong. There’s a reason you’re well known...

People have even tried to reach out to you to help you because this is completely not healthy, but all you’ve done is smack away any offered hands. We can only do so much...

Gatekeeping, there’s that word again. Do you not even comprehend what your actions are doing? You’re the one gatekeeping! “Don’t ship Shuake because it’s a toxic ship! Meanwhile, I’m hogging Goro all to myself.” My friend is not a gatekeeper. In fact, she fought back against gatekeepers. She’s a very open person who welcomes all ships and things. She literally doesn’t give a fuck.

Again, if you run into negative people, block them and move on. Not everyone is out to get you, and if you’d only give them a chance, who knows, you might make some friends. Hell, if you realized what you were doing, they might still welcome you, but you are hell bent on burning bridge after bridge until there’s nothing but cinders.

Actually, let me you a story. Last year, there was a BIG ruckess in another fandom I’m in, and it was ugly. Very ugly. Why? Because many of the fans considered one of the characters to be 100% gay. While I also believed he was, I could see the potential of him not being. My friend (same as the above) was also very heavily involved, because she saw him as bisexual.

There’s little evidence that he was anything but gay, but that didn’t mean he just was purely on what we saw. Of course, many did not like this, and a lot of noise happened. I ended up blocking a lot of people and also being blocked in the process, because they couldn’t handle the possibility of a character being bi, even tho it was never stated he was gay, just hinted at.

Besides, it’s fandom, and things change. Sexualities change, gender changes, all things can change. But no, they’re of the purity culture brand, and if you said something that wasn’t the popular thing, you were shunned. It made me consider leaving the fandom, but I remained.

You see... I too have dealt with such people, and there may be a lot of them. If there are, then don’t give them a second look. Seek out people who are open to discussing all and other things. They exist. If you had a bad experience, then I am sorry, okay? No one should feel that way in any fandom. Fandoms are meant to be fun. I want you to have fun. I do. I don’t want you stressing and yelling and pushing people away.

So I had heard that you use to create content for it, but I implore... do it again. Create solo Goro content. By all means, if you truly aren’t ready or don’t wish to, then don’t, but also, don’t let people win. People will welcome your solo Goro content. There’s nothing wrong with solo content of anything. He doesn’t need to be tied a ship 24/7, but he’s still going to be tied to that ship quite heavily, but it’s not 100%. Nothing will ever be 100%, because you’re allowed to hate the ship, and others do too, and that is fine!

2 years then. 2 years... That’s still a long time. Perhaps tho... these people you interacted with have moved on from the fandom, and in turn, in 2 years, many people have since joined the fandom. Perhaps you are comparing people from 2 years ago to people today. If any of those people from 2 years ago are still around, then don’t engage. They aren’t worth your time if you were polite about an opinion that you have no control over. Liking a ship is like liking a genre of music or TV show. You can’t force it.

You are allowed to want to see solo Goro content, and people do, or ship him with someone else that isn’t Joker. It exists. It won’t be as popular of course, because that’s just the nature of their relationship so of course many are going to be drawn to it, but that doesn’t mean everyone is drawn to it.

You realize you don’t have to pay people within the fandom, right? You can just... approach literally any artist/writer and go “hey, this is what I want, yadda yadda”, they create the thing, you get your thing, badda bing badda boom. However, if you did wish approach someone within the fandom, then do so... So long as they aren’t a jackass about your dislike for the ship, they will most likely create the thing you ask for. People like money, so it pays to be open minded about other ships instead of just refusing said money just because they perosnally don’t like it.

To anyone who went after you, that’s still not a reason to lash on other people for them to witness you at your worst. You’re literally not giving any of us a reason to believe you are approachable, but you’re just angry. To anyone who made you feel like shit, then fuck them, okay? FUCK. THEM. But that doesn’t mean others are going to do the same. I don’t think a single fandom is immune to toxicity of some variety. It’s never going to go away, and that’s the price you pay for being in fandoms.

I admit, my sources are not coming from the source, but from what I’ve seen from others. So give us a reason on why you aren’t the person we all think you are. All I see from you is hate, hate, hate. I don’t want you to be unhappy. In fact, I feel bad for you, scared for you even, because there’s nothing but hatred and foulness coming from you. You can’t expect people to see you and go “yeah, this person is totally approachable.” No, you’re intimidating.

If people pushed you out of your lane, then take it back! It’s okay to not like Shuake or any popular ship. If people are dicks about it, then call them dicks, but the others won’t care if you don’t like it. We’re allowed to like different things.

Whoa there’s a lot to unpack here, so let’s get to it as best as I can.

Disclaimer: this rant is based on my personal experience in spirituality and divination. Which I may add, is of more than 15 years.

So... tarot is a form of divination, which makes it as reliable and truthful as any other divination form. It reads current energies, with a lot of ifs and buts and complex roundabouts in it.

The thing is yeah, readers are mere human beings, so we are prone to have biases in the readings, especially if there’s intuition involved in it. I think this biases have become more noticeable now that it has become a trend, as any other craft, tarot reading is perfected over time with practice, and it is an ever long learning process.

And that’s where the thing I preach the most about comes into play, we as online users are the only ones responsible for our content consumption. It is very hard to tell over a screen if someone is unbiased or not right off the bat, but there are always some red flags in content creators of this sort, like if they get overly defensive at the smallest constructive criticism, ifthey gatekeep, if they seem to give out weirdly specific info, etc. When you dive into reading all sorts of readers you, as a content consumer start to shape your own standards as to which readings come off as sketchy, for example, personally, I don’t think anything specific time related readings are more than 50-60% accurate, but that’s a personal choice of mine.

As time progresses along with your craft, you somehow are able to better leave behind any type of bias on the readings, obviously there’s still your own style of intuition, a distinctive way of reading, etc. Based off of the aspects that are easier for each reader to tune into.

So for example, in my case, the level of accuracy of my love and healing readings may be a bit more accurate than my “what’s going on?” Readings for the simple fact that it’s easier for me to tune into that sort of energy, but that doesn’t make any of my other readings false or anything.

WEIRDLY SPECIFIC BUT HELPFUL CHARACTER BUILDING QUESTIONS !   

Ziv grew up in the Jedi-Temple,which meant that she specifically did not grew up in a closed, central group,but that she was raised and teached by everyone around her along with a lot of other children. The children around her were her family, the Creche Masters were her family and even the Jedi Knights she did not knew personally and only saw randomly in the Temples Halls were her family for despite not knowing them it was clear that she would have been able to ask for their advice and care, if she would have needed it. Accordingly her definitions of family and friends is very open and wide. The people she considers family do not need to be related to her or even close to her inthe first place, so when those pepole are friendlyto her and they like another than they are already family and can count on her protection, care and support.

Therefor Zivs word for friend also spans a very group, in fact everyone who had not done any harm to her or her already exsisting circl of people, is a friend and can count on her support and care until they proof to be a danger to her or her friends. That also means that Ziv may ha a wide circle of friends, but not a single person she actually would trust her secrets to. Ziv has a wide circle of casual friends that she would gladly go thorugh the fire for but only a few, if any, people that she would actually ask to do the same for her.

How loose is their use of the phrase ‘I love you’? As someone who grew up between telepaths and empathy but whos talent in telepathy soley focuses on her having a natural and keeping up a very big mindshield, Ziv is very direct and loud with her feelings as there never had been any other way in which she could have been heard. Her mind could not be read, her feelings could not be felt and her mimic as a alien was very hard to read for people who not were a Tynnan themself. Accordingly Ziv had to make sure what was in her mind had to be said out loud unless she would be ignored and not heard. Therefor the Tynnan will merciless say out loud what is on her mind, especially when it is about her opinion of a person: If she can not stand a person she will very clearly say it and if she loves a person than she will also say it out loud as soon as she feels it. Ziv thinks the most important thing a person has is their ability to make decisions so her saying that she loves someone is simply to inform them how she feels and she is not in the slightest expecting a reaction, a answer, a service or let alone a return of those feelings. Ziv is in this manner a very honest person, she says how she feels and with that the matter is done as she does not expect anything in return.

COLOUR PALETTE RESEARCH

The first thing I put into my google search bar was “Covid-19 as a colour palette” and I think I may have found the best article for it.

This here is an article I found that started me off on the journey to find a suited colour palette for my editorial. This was a great find because two people, arshyla Singh and Meher Varma,  have created a colour palette specifically on the present situation in this global pandemic. This project is called, “The 12 shades of the new post-COVID colour palette.” Above are all of the colours they created reflecting on the first stages of COVID-19 as an influence. They started off by creating the virus as a colour itself, “Then, the virus came, a neon-green spikey thing, a shade that at least emojically suggests something lab rather than animal made.” This is a quote from the article explaining the generic colour of the virus and how it was the simplest one to create. Personally my two favourite swatches are, “stockpiled eggs” and “Obligatory Banana Bread”. This is because it is the two things I can relate to the most when I am thinking back to the first lockdown we had as a country. My mother was stockpiling eggs and would freak if we were to the last 6 eggs on the kitchen counter. The banana bread came after, the amount of people making banana bread and posting it on social media was bizarre, It then became a trend and we all began to make banana bread like it was a religion. Mother and I finessed the recipe and called it a day in late June when we had had enough of it. Then came the yoga matts outside in the summer sun. Which is also a colour that these two designers made. (Mine is also blue..).

I ask because on my country’s TLD it’s required, or at least according to my host. Is there any truth to this? A quick Google search only produced a lot of marketing related articles not saying anything of substance, besides it being a bad idea to use info@ for spam reasons / webserver filter and apparently some platforms will not allow you to create an account with a info@ mail.

While I assume rules depend on the policy of the TLD, what are your opinions for best-practice here?

In my context it’s just a matter of a contact mail for a landing page, using a free mailserver that probably does not allow aliases.

Edit: Perosnally, I’m inclined to simply use “hello@”, “hai2u@” regardless of TLD policy, as we all know they are not really enforced.

Okay, I need to vent this out. The ‘Ruby is really Qrow’s daughter’ theory baffle me for MULTIPLE reasons. Now if you believe the theory, that is fine. Who am I to kill others enjoyment? It is a fun theory with character development opportunities for everyone involved if true... but there’s still various issues with it. If it’s true, great. But there’s really no hinting or anything to confirm it and it breaks a lot of logic. THis is a critical post looking at the reasons that, inmy opinion,t he theory jsut doens’t work. It’s only my opinuon and youa re free to agree or disagree with me. Thank you, and now lets get this out of my system.

1. Genetics

This is probably the most common argument I’ve seen. When you look at Ruby, she doesn't really have anything matching Tai the same way Yang does. Now we’ve seen a photo of Summer, and Ruby does take after her in various ways (silver eyes, body structure, wears a hood). But her appearance, wearing a lot of black and red, matches Qrow more. Her fighting style also closely matches Qrow and he’s the one she’s closest to, even above her father. 

But... here’s the issue with that. Ruby takes after Qrow because she chose to. Qrow trained her to fight and he is someone she idolizes due to it. She isn’t good at hand to hand, hence why Tai and Yang’s styles was probably something she chose not to take on. She is best with weaponry, and Qrow taught her to use a scythe, which IDT is exactly an easy weapon to use. And as far as looks go, yeah she doesn't look a lot like Tai... so what? I mean not counting fashion choices, the only thing Yang got from Tai was his hair color. Looks wise, she looks FAR closer to Raven. Heck, Ruby's fashion choices (red and black) can also match Raven more closely than Tai, but I don’t see any ‘Ruby is actually Raven's second daughter’ theories going around. Ruby just matches Qrow because she admires him and was taught by him and she just got mroe form her mom in terms of looks. But her personality, being a kind, caring person with some quirkiness, she definitely got form her dad because he raised her right. So saying that Ruby is Qrow’s real daughter because she looks more like him... doesn't work. 

2. Portrayal 

This is the biggest reason I can’t like this theory. So... lets say that Qrow and Summer did like each other. Okay, I’m fine with that. I have no issues with Qrow having feelings for Summer at all and due to his Semblance, it creates a tragic situation where he can't truly be with her. But for Ruby to be conceived... ti would mean that Summer cheated on Tai. And that would mean that Qrow... made love to Summer despite knowing that she was with Tai and knowing that the guy already got abandoned by his first wife. Tell me, does this make either Summer or Qrow likeable? At all?

Okay, maybe you can argue that Summer got with Tai after she got pregnant. Maybe Qrow had to leave due to his Semblance/his duty and Summer turned to Tai because of it. That's... still horrible cause she’s turning to another man when she should fully know the reasons why. heck, with her silver eyes she was probably even mroe central to the conflict. Moment of weakness, maybe. But that would also make Tai look horrible for taking advantage of a pregnant woman going through a hard time. Something that he would NOT due, especially since he would know better than any of them how being betrayed by a lover sucks. Now we don’t knwo a lot about Summer, but from what little insight we’ve gotten we know that she was a caring person who never gave up hope, ala Ruby. We’ve seen that Tai and Qrow are good guys, even if Qrow is kind of grumpy an jaded. Sure, maybe they grew up, but even so it doesn't really fit them to act that way. It just makes STRQ look like a bunch of terrible jerks who ruined their loes for stupid reasons. Yeah their team fell apart, but I don’t think soap opera cliches are the reasons why.

It just makes more sense and makes everyone still be likable if after Raven left, Summer tried to help Tai with Yang out of the goodness of her heart. It led t the two falling in love and having Ruby. Maybe Qrow would have been sad cause that killed any chance with Summer, but he accepted it and viewed Ruby as his niece as much as he did Yang. So then you’re left with people who are flawed, but still good. It just makes for less pointless cliched drama, is all I’m saying.

3. Family 

One reason I’ve seen people go with this theory si because of how many moent Ruby and Qrow have had. He treats RUby like a daughter and as I alreayd mentions, she modeled herself after him. We’ve never really seen her relationship with Tai outside the V3 finale and RUby implying that he’s overprotective. So it feels like that there’s a stronger connection between RUbya nd Qrow.

This is my issue with tat. Yes, RUbya nd Qrow are close. He does treat RUby as if she was his daughter and it’s adorable. So... why does that mean he has to be her father? Why can’t he just be her honorary uncle? That doesn't undermine the relationship at all. In fact, ti strengthens it. Neither Ruby nor Qrow are related by blood, but Qrow took on his niece because he wanted to help her get stronger and he taught her how to fight, strengthening her resole to become a Huntress. He’s known Ruby since she was born and watched her grow up, even if sometimes from a distance. He’s shown that he cares deeply for both of his nieces, he just expresses it in different ways. With Yang, he talks to her like she’s an adult. He knows that’s how she wants to be treated. Sure it can sound harsh, but it’s what she responds to and he understands that. It’s also why he told her where to find Raven. Yang is an adult and should be able to face her mother. He knows that she’ll make the right choice about her life and that she should be allowed to have that knowledge and do what she wants with it. 

But Ruby isn’t an adult. She doesn't respond to that kind of talk well. While she is growing up, she’s not as tough and it’s best to be mroe gentle and laid back when talking to her. SO Qrow treats her as she is, a young girl still growing. he doesn't talk down to her, but hes far more gentle and light-hearted with her than he is with Yang. It’s because he knows how these girls respond to things, and talks with them on the level that works best with them. Why? Because he’s their uncle and has been there since they were babies. He doesn't need to be Ruby’s father to care about her. He cares about her because he has been a par tof her life since she was young. He couldn't always be around, but he still made an effort. It shows that he’s overall a good person and does care about his nieces deeply. It doesn't matter what the relation is, it’s the type of person he is that matters. It’s why Raven is Yang’s mother only int he sense that she gave birth to her. Otherwise? She left her daughter when at least a few days old and made little effort to be with her. Due to it, Raven isn’t considered family by Yang and doesn't deserve to be at this time. Qrow is seen as the girls uncle because he still made the effort. And there is nothing wrong with that.

4. Logic

While my second reason is the reason I can't like the theory, this is the biggest reason on why I can't believe the theory Okay, lets pretend that the theory is confirmed. It turns out that Qrow is indeed Ruby's real father. He hid it form her because... because... ugh... huh, why did he hide it form her? That the biggest question I have with this. If this is true, why is Qrow hiding it? Okay, lets say it’s due to his Semblance. He’s a danger to Ruby, so he has to keep away form her... yet we know from Yang in V2 that he WAS around in their lives. We know form Ruby’ own words that Qrow trained her. Look, yes Qrow’s Semblance sucks, but it’s not an excuse to hide from Ruby that he’s her father. All that would nee dot be said is ‘my Semblance means I can't be around for long, so while I’m gon you get to lvoie with Taiyang and his daughter.” Why lie about it? Why have Tai pose as her real father to not hurt her? Even though the truth would eventually come out and hurt her anyways? Why make her question everything she knew all because he thought that not telling her the truth was better than just simply explaining why he was away so often, but assure her that he still loved her. Plus he STILL made an effort to be a part of her life, which kills the reason on why he’d keep back to begin with. 

Lets go with another theory. It’s possible that Qrow didn’t know that Ruby was his kid until she was born... but I think it wouldn’t take very long to do a DNA test (which I assume the kingdoms have) and find out. Which Tai would confront him about this since that would mean Summer cheated on him and... yeah this leads back to pointless drama. Which would mean that Qrow was ashamed or something and chose to hide it because of it. Which is arguably an even worst reason. Maybe Summer would still let him be involved in Ruby’s life, but why would she go along with it then? Why lie to her own child about her actual father? Sure, Summer died when Ruby couldn’t talk so Summer couldn’t explain it to her. But why would Tai hide it then? That make shim look no better than Qrow. Why would they both be that incredibly stupid and selfish? Heck, going off the ‘Summer cheated on him’ theory, why would he still BE with her? And if we go with the ‘Tai stole Summer’ theory, it just makes Ti nd SUmmer looks like terrible people keeping aman’s daughter away from him just to be dicks. WHich goes against their character and... UGH this is breaking my brain/

Lets stick tot he ‘Qrow is hiding it cause of Semblance’ theory cause it’s the most logical... and is still stupid. Qrow is NOT that STUPID or HEARTLESS. He would NEVER put Ruby through that kind of pain. He would never lie to her that way. It goes against his character and make shim look like an asshole on par with his sister. And do you think that Tai would go along with that? No, he wouldn’t. Especially since that would still mean that either he stole a pregnant woman from her lover or his lover went against his back. He would maybe still take Ruby in cause it’s still a kid who did nothing wrong, but he wouldn’t lie to her about that after the shit he went through. Its just OOC for both of them to hide that with little regard to how it would affect Ruby. Sure, they haven’t gone in to how Summer died so that may hit her hard, but that’s due to a larger conflict. Not because of stupid personal problems. There is just no real good reason for Qow to hide that he’s Ruby's father. If it’s true, maybe the show will come up with an explanation. But as it stands right now, ti would just be stupid, make zero sense, and would only serve in breaking Ruby for no good reason. And as much as I lie a good emotional character arc, it needs ot be for better reasons than that.

As I said, I’m not attacking those who believe the theory. You are free to keep believing in it. Hell, maybe I’m missing something and others have better evidence and explanations on why it does work and make sense. Fair enough. But to me, it’s just stupid, pointless, and makes everyone involved look like assholes. And it is why, unless CRWBY does make it canon and give a good reason why, I cannot and will not believe this theory. Thank you for reading.

Event + Response = Outcome (E+R=O) states that the current results we have in life (outcome) comes because of a circumstances we faced (event) and the actions we chose to take (response).

What this means is that all of our lives; good, bad, or ugly; are the combinations of all the active responses we chose to take from each circumstance we faced. Therefore, we’re all 100% responsible for what our lives have become.

So, if you’re not to thrilled about the current outcomes (0) that you’re living, in both of Jack Canfield‘s books The Success Principles and The Success Principles for Teens gives us two choices we all have.

We can either choose to become the victim and blame the event (E) for undesirable outcomes (O) or do the more healthy and proactive version by changing our thoughts so our response (R) creates that outcome (O) we want.

Outside circumstances and factors (E) will always exist for everyone in the world no matter who you are. Still, there those who achieve great things in this world (O) because of their decision to think and act a particular way (R).

You’re the only one in the way from achieving your greatest desirable outcomes.

A lot of people are completely clueless as to why they’re unhappy and producing less than favorable results. If only they chose to change their thinking which would inevitably change their responses (R) to all of life’s uncertain events (E), they could finally get what they wanted out of life (O).

It’s seriously as simple as changing your thought patterns. Everything we think has a positive or negative effect on our bodies, actions, and the world around us. It’s our responsibility to control what goes on in our minds on a daily basis. No one else’s!

My oldest sister travels to 3rd World Countries. When she returned home, she said the first thing she noticed was how much everyone whines, complains, and blames others. Would this have any influence as to why Americans swallow over 70% of the world’s pharmaceutical supply?

Out of all of these possible reasons for not excelling in life, in my perosnal opinion, the only reason why you’re not living the life you desire is because your thoughts aren’t in alignment with what you want.

Stop wishful thinking and start to actually believe you already have what you desire most. Be grateful for all the things you want as if you already have them. This is The Secret that you’ve heard about. It’s not positive thinking, being optimistic, or delusional thinking – it’s an unwavering belief that you already have what you want and you’re grateful for it.

My Personal Example of E+R=O

After attempting suicide twice over the span of a decade (O), I chose to unlearn all the garbage dictated down to us from unaccomplished teachers (E). I started reading everything from self-help, self-improvement, personal development, success, business, and spiritual books (R).

It wasn’t until I actually started to implement what I was learning from the most successful people this planet has seen that my life actually started to change. I started a couple businesses to be that person I wish I had in my life which delivers real world information.

Just over the last couple years, I’ve directly impacted many thousands of people and helped changed the course of their lives. How many people have I indirectly helped? No clue!

Let’s look at this within the E+R=O formula:

Event = Brainwashed to Conform to the Status Quo

Response = Believed in the System

Outcome = Attempted Suicide

Now let’s look at how I changed it to produce the life I’m living today:

Event = Brainwashed then Attempted Suicide

Response = Started Reading A Lot

Outcome = Quit my J.O.B. and Became an Entrepreneur

I ask because on my country's TLD it's required, or at least according to my host. Is there any truth to this? A quick Google search only produced a lot of marketing related articles not saying anything of substance, besides it being a bad idea to use info@ for spam reasons / webserver filter and apparently some platforms will not allow you to create an account with a info@ mail.

While I assume rules depend on the policy of the TLD, what are your opinions for best-practice here?

In my context it's just a matter of a contact mail for a landing page, using a free mailserver that probably does not allow aliases.

Edit: Perosnally, I'm inclined to simply use "hello@", "hai2u@" regardless of TLD policy, as we all know they are not really enforced.

What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?

Hmm... of the three shows I currently watch (Miraculous, RWBY, and RvB) I honestly do get where the OPT’s come from. It may just be because I’ve been around the net long enough to understand how ships become ships to begin with and it doens’t surprise me anymore. The only one I do NOT understand, asuide form any pedophile ships. is when I see ships for Felix/Locus from RvB. Why? Because Felix is a terrible, abusive perosn who damaged Locus, someone brought down by war, and encouraged him to forget about seeking help and become a monster. Unless someone is doing it to demonstrate that, seeing anyone genuinely ship them disgusts me.

Unpopular opinion about the manga/show?

Well... guess I’ll use those three examples again.

Miraculous: I don’t see Adrien referring to Marinette as a friend a bad thing. He doesn't know that Marinette likes him. She has been unable to tell him how she feels. Maybe he could figure it out himself, but what reason does he have, specially since as far as he now she’s in love with another girl? It’s a bummer for Marinette, but she has the ability to try to change ‘friend’ status, but doesn’t. It’s just as much of her fault.

RWBY: I’m fine with the exposition focus this seaosn. It’s moving things along and leading to something big. I have been more satisfied with things in V5 than I have in the previous seasons. Is it slow? Yeah. DO I want more action? Of course. Am I going to blast the show because of it? No. The exposition si important and will ahve a larger impact down the road. We don’t need to force in a fight scene when it isn’t needed, especially if all fans are gonna do is find a way to rip it apart and hate the chapter anyways. CRWBY honestly can’t win no matter how much they try to improve. So I’m gonna let them do hat they want and enjoy the ride.

RvB: This is something that’s been on my schest for a while regarding opinions I’ve seen on Season 15... and that’s that the guys did NOT abandon Grif. I’m sick of seeing Grif get made an innocent victim and everyone else horrible assholes. Yeah they left Grif alone, and that sucks and clearly affected him,b ut he CHOSE to be left alone. He chose to walk out on them, so it’s kind of the other way around. Do I hate Grif for that? No. He NEEDED that time alone. He was tired and frustrated and din’t want to get involved in another potential life-threatening adventure all because Church can’t stay dead. Could the others, or at least the Reds, tried harder to convince him otherwise? Sure. But Grif made his own choice. I re watched the episode and if you cut out him and Dylan’s talk... then yeah what he said to the others about it was selfish and dickish since without it, you don’t have the context about how he felt about it. Context none of them had and Dylan didn’t mention to them. If Grif explained what he explained to Dylan, they’d have still been upset and maybe angry, but I think they’d have understood better and someone like say Simmons may have tried to address it. But he didn’t. Both sides could have handled it better. No one is the good guy or the bad guy. They all screwed up. But regardless, Grif decided on his own terms to quit and then later to go back. They didn’t force him or bully him into it. He made the choice himself. So no, he wasn't abandoned by everyone, he chose to walk away from it.
