1. What is the best book you’ve ever read?
Okay so there are a lot of books I’m legit obsessed with, possibly to an unhealthy degree, and I don’t have favorites of anything so I’ll just list the ones I’m obsessed with. If I absolutely had to choose, though…The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin. This book changed my life. Otherwise:
The Broken Earth trilogy by N.K. Jemisin
If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio
The Daevabod trilogy by S.A. Chakraborty
Babel by R.F. Kuang
Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr
Six of Crows duology by Leigh Bardugo
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara (more like Ruined My Life lol)
The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker
Uprooted and Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
The Arc of a Scythe trilogy by Neal Shusterman, especially Thunderhead because I’m apparently gay for an AI
Educated by Tara Westover
The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer (when I tell you I bawled for two hours after finishing this book…)
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
None of This Is True by Lisa Jewell

2. What is the worst book you’ve ever read?
I’m torn between I Am J by Cris Beam and Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. I gave them both .25/5 stars and I wish I could give them both a big fat zero. They are the worst books I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading, for a few reasons.
I Am J singlehandedly put me back in the closet for two whole years as a teenager. It is the most misogynistic, homophobic, and racist book I’ve ever read. It gives explicit instructions on how to bind unsafely…actually, I wrote a full review of it on Storygraph that can be read here:
My review of I am J
Girls of Paper and Fire is just as awful, and ironically for somewhat similar reasons. This book sounds like a fast-paced, tense novel full of espionage and intensely forbidden romance with a firecracker heroine who plots to assassinate the king…and none of it is true. Yeah, actually, I also wrote a review on this book. Here it is:

19. Do you fold pages or use a bookmark?
It honestly depends lol if it’s an old book I’ve had since childhood, I’ll dog ear and annotate that motherfucker to the ends of the earth with zero hesitation. With new books that I know I’ll be able to keep pretty, I always use a bookmark, because I unhaul on a semi-regular basis and donate them to a local bookstore. She makes more money if I keep them in pristine condition and I normally have signed copies. (I only have two small bookshelves and need to weed them regularly. It’s really sad. I have my books triple stacked on each shelf.)

35. What’s a book you’ve read over and over?
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I first read this back in 2009, and I’ve read it more than twenty times since. It has so many bookmarks, shreds of paper, and sticky notes inside that I can’t even begin to count them all. The spine is decimated. I’m suddenly craving a reread.
