#i now headcanon mia protecting zoe from her family

I can imagine, that right after ship's crash, Mia wasn't yet compleatly desperate, so when Zoe started panicking, because of they situation, the whole SIT scene happened. Mia calmed her down and promised, that they gonna get out of this mess.

Tho by the end of the story, roles were reversed

Zoe paced the length of the trailer, Mia watching her closely. She’d tried her best to explain the situation to the poor girl. What Eveline was, what she was doing, why they couldn’t just run in there and kill the girl, even if they wanted to. It wasn’t doing much to calm the other woman’s nerves, and Mia couldn’t really blame her. She couldn’t imagine the feeling that came with taking in a little girl, only for her to seemingly tear apart your family.

A twinge of guilt hit her, but she kept a stoic face as Zoe paused in her stride.

“Th-This is fucked.” She stuttered, her breathing picking up. “This is so FUCKED!”

Mia pursed her lips. “Maybe you should take a moment-”

“Shut the hell up! This is your fuckin’ fault!” The younger woman yelled. Mia chose not to respond to that. “What the hell were you thinkin’?! Who the fuck makes a weapon like this?!” Zoe ran her hands through her hair.

“Just have a seat and we can-”

“Fuck you!”

Mia grabbed the woman by her shoulders, and pushed her into the dinette booth. “I said sit.” She hissed, keeping a hold on Zoe’s shoulders. There was a moment of awkward silence, and Zoe buried her face in her hands.

“This is fucked….” She repeated, and Mia sighed.

“I know….” She wasn’t entirely sure what to do. So she just kept talking. “But it’ll be okay. I promise. Help will come.. Eventually. Even if it doesn’t, Evie’s not going to live very long out here.” Zoe let out a series of sniffles as Mia knelt in front of her. “I promise, we’ll get out of this. You will get out of this. Okay? I’ll make sure of it. They aren’t going to hurt you more than they already have.” A slight smile crossed her face. “Not that a girl like you needs protecting.”

Zoe wiped her eyes with the heel of her palm, giving a soft laugh. “Well you’re right about that at least….” She gave another deep sniffle. “But what about…” Zoe looked to the trailer door. “Them?”

“As long as Eveline wants your family alive, they should be safe.”

“And after?”

Mia pursed her lips. “With any luck they’ll just… go back to normal after Evie lets them go.”

Zoe let out a sigh, then wrapped her arms around Mia in a hug. “Even if that’s all bullshit…. Thanks.”

“Anytime.” Mia returned the hug. “Just remember you’re not alone in this.”

“Neither are you.”

TAKERS AU HEADCANONS ━ feat. @ivyleaguecriminal​

Q grew up in Los Angeles raised by her parents, Adrian & Laurel - DA & ADA.

She attended Princeton University studying law.

There she met AJ Briggs and fell madly in love.

The plan was for him to be an architect and her a lawyer.

Then they met Gordon, John and the rest of the Takers, a group of bank robbers, during a fight in their club that the two definitely used fake I.D’s to get into.

From their, the plans shifted. AJ had passion for the jobs they were pulling and Q had unflinching support for him.

She hates member Ghost with a burning passion.

She grew very close to Lilli, Ghost’s at the time girlfriend - later Jake’s fiancée and is very protective of her.

Still best friends with Mia, William, Zoe and Connor. 

Her family is very involved in the law. Her parents are both lawyers, her grandfather is the police commissioner, her honorary uncle is the mayor and her aunt/godmother is the captain of police.

Q is relieved when Ghost gets locked up and actually tipped her father off to some other things about him that were super shady. (Longer sentences would be hard as AJ is really good at making sure all of the Takers check out cleanly)

Her and AJ continue to date for the next five years and she’s closer than ever with the group.

Q works in the D.A office/precinct. Lowkey eyes and ears, back up for the Takers.

Q stole the cop uniform AJ uses at the beginning of the film.

She always greets him with a jump hug and smooches when he gets home from a job. 

When Ghost comes back, she sees him as she’s downstairs in the club when all the Takers are upstairs + she then comforts Lilli when she comes downstairs.

AJ lies about still being with Q to protect her from Ghost.

Q understands why he lied and plays along if she runs into Ghost. It keeps her detached from the Takers and not intertwined/putting her too close to the action.

She stays away from the club and the group during the job with Ghost but AJ keeps her informed as much as he can.

They use pinky promises as a genuine form of promise.

AJ was going to propose after the job with Ghost.

Q finds out things went sideways after John finds her at Mia’s house where she was hanging out till it was over. She finds out AJ was shot and the last they saw of him was him bleeding out on the floor.

John gives her the ring cause AJ’s “last words” were telling John to take care of her and John is very protective of these two + John also gives her the passport and money AJ set aside in case things went bad.

Q tells John that she will be right behind him and he pinky promises to kill Ghost for screwing them over. They hug knowing this might be the last time they ever see each other again (John knows she’s not going to catch up with them, he knows she’s not leaving AJ)

Q does not believe for a second AJ is dead. She calls her family and finds out he’s being taken to the hospital so that’s where she goes. She’s got the ring on her hand.

AJ goes through four surgeries for three gunshot wounds and is in a coma for over a week.

In that time, Q finds out that Gordon and John have fled, Ghost has been killed but also that Jake, Jesse and Lilli are all dead. 

She handles the funeral arrangements for Jake, Jesse and Lilli. Ghost can get thrown in the river for all she cares.

Her entire family and loved ones now know their future son in law is a criminal.

Adrian manages to get AJ under house arrest instead of jail time. He loves that kid and also Q nearly lost him, I can’t see him separating them for five more years. And he physically would be wrecked in prison.

Together, Q and AJ renovate and reopen the club.

They rescue a calico cat and name her Lilli.

They literally lost huge parts of their lives. All they can do from here is move forward. (basically play “the next right thing” and weep with me about this)
