The Previous World Mural — a dreamscape transposition of The Next World Mural to somewhere, somewhen else.

The gif compressed the images but I will also post them as a clearer image set, to be linked in a reblog.

Excerpt of accompanying ficlet below. Decided to just post the segment of it I've finalised since I won't have the time to work on it for a very long while.

You stand on an unfamiliar street, across a familiar mural. The pavement is dimly lit, blue warring with orange between the shadow and light. The streets are populated with faceless shadows. The sky, indistinguishably and eerily hazy, holds the morning moon and the dawning sun distantly together. The world is fading… smearing at its edges.

PERCEPTION — The mural is the only thing you recognise here, depicting featureless silhouettes: one in white paint, engulfed by one in black. They are lovers leaning together, heads meeting in a kiss. A circle of red paint forms a halo around their heads, enclosing that moment of tenderness.

CONCEPTUALIZATION — Despite being close enough to melt into one, the lovers remain distinct, separate, impossibly apart.

There are 11– no, 12 floors in total, including the ground floor, which has been obscured behind sheet metal barriers.

PERCEPTION — The scent in the air is unfamiliar. Despite the fumes of traffic and paint, the distant cigarette smoke, the wet pavement, the damp grass…

INLAND EMPIRE [Formidable: Success] — There is nothing haunting in the air. No ghosts between the molecules — not for you. The wind is silent of her sighs.

Hi. I'm alive and I'm gonna forego updating my artblog and just post this bc it took. too long, and I'm done having the "my artblog needs to have everything on it chronologically" mindset on here

I've fallen face first back into my mcyt/life series/hc obsession, and specifically my helsmits. The title of this file is "drawing other people's hels as a warmup"...... .....needless to say that warmup escalated and I've been drawing on these for like two or three days-

~~~ 1. The two in the bottom left are my own fallsmits (= helsmits with extra steps, lol) for Bdubs and Tango, Sleepless and SwingTek the beloveds- Swing has an inbetween of his natural and his "I'm totally TangoTek guys" hair colors in this doodle, because I said so.

2. Top left is a Hels!Stress named AnxiousBeast, who belongs to @square-milk. the possum thing is so creative, and I love her grian-esque unhinged vibes, so I just had to draw her 3. Top right is a Hels!Grian concept by @daffodily that I had my eye on when I first got into helsmits a year or two ago, but I don't think I ever ended up drawing him. No name given, as far as I could tell. Super dark with the stitches and everything but I love it. Totally different vibes but he does remind me a tiny bit of my falls!grian, Gregory, and I'm all for that - it's probably mostly the sweater color though jhdfkjgh but still

4. Bottom right is Foxtrot, a Hels!Tango with a very cool name, posted by @neoflames. I love the ice+siren powers this one has, plus the hair is very cool (no pun intended)

5. Central to this doodle page is Iota, a Hels!Grian design I saw and immediately became obsessed with. what the hels. who comes up with this stuff. (the answer is @rhapsoddity. rhapsoddity comes up with this stuff.)

6. And last but most certainly not least! At the center of the top is a figure that people on my art blog will have seen before, and that anyone who's browsed the helsmit tags will recognize - the beloved Limbo Lag by @galaxygermdraws. what a guy. what a little guy. he needs a hug someone hug him NOW this is an order. I'm sure my boy Swing would be glad to hear he's not the only blue tango counterpart giving off sad little guy energy

Info and FAQ (Please read before sending asks)

What is this?

This is the League of Extraordinary Gentlefolk, a comic project based on the premise of Alan Moore’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Think The Avengers, but with characters from Victorian lit.

If you’re familiar with the Alan Moore comic, or the 2003 movie, don’t expect this project to look much like either one. I’m keeping the name, the basic premise, and most but not all of the core cast, and going my own way with all the rest.

Do I need to read all the books and stories this is based on?

We’re aiming to make the comic accessible to people who have never read the original works. Reading the stories will enrich your experience with the comic, but it is by no means necessary.

If you’re interested in reading the original works, @linguisticparadox compiled a fantastic Google doc with links to all the texts we’re using as inspiration. (at least, all the ones we can currently share without giving away future spoilers... :3c)

How will you be handling [insert issue/plot point/character portrayal from either LoEG or one of the source texts here]?

Hopefully, in a respectful and nuanced fashion. We’re doing our utmost to remain faithful to the source texts we’re drawing from whenever possible, while at the same time avoiding uncritically reproducing the prejudices present in those texts.

What are the guidelines for sending in asks?

Be respectful. This is the “goes without saying” rule, but this is Tumblr, so I’ll say it anyway. Trolls, hate, bad-faith questions, and exclusionism will be deleted.

Read the FAQ. If your question is covered in this post, odds are I’m not going to answer it.

Be patient. I’m only one person, and I’m not always going to be able to answer asks in a timely fashion - or at all. This is my first time running a blog that receives this level of interaction, and I’m still figuring a lot of things out as I go.

Are you looking for guest artists/writers?

Not currently. We’ve talked about this possibility for the future, but as of right now we’re not accepting submissions for new writers. I’ve also had a couple people offer to help with inking/backgrounds, and while I appreciate the offer, I would like to clarify that I do not intend to do either. The comic will remain black and white and sketchy indefinitely.

What characters are part of this?

There are a LOT of characters planned to appear in this thing. I’m working on a separate cast list page, but in the meantime, the core League by the end of Episode 2 will consist of: Mina and Jonathan Harker, Irene Norton (better known as Irene Adler), Dr. John “Jack” Seward, Dr. Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde, Ashley Griffin, and Captain Nemo. Additionally, expect to see a wide variety of supporting cast members in roles both large and small, including more official League members to be added down the road.

Why is Jonathan Harker here?

Because he loves his wife!! And I love him. Also, he’s a white-haired kukri-wielding genderqueer possibly-a-cryptid, and how can you NOT put a character like that in your comic?

(Slightly more serious answer: Because this comic is founded almost entirely on spite and self-indulgence, and in my humble opinion the Harkers were done dirty by Alan Moore. I’m a huge Dracula fan thanks to Dracula Daily, and I want to give Jonathan Harker the spotlight I feel he deserves.)

Accepting Perfection

Trigger Warning: Gore, blood, manipulation. If you are sensitive to these topics, please do not read.

Note: This is based off @rainbow-neko-artblog's FNF AU called FNF V-Mix. It's an AU with lots of manipulation, blood, and gore, soooooo yeah.

Also, Boyfriend's name is Aqua, Girlfriend's name is Cherry!

"This way, come on!" The redhead yelled, gun strapped to his hip as he carried his boyfriend on his back.

The raven groaned, his foot hurting from landing wrong, "I-I'm sorry, I-"

"Don't apologize, gem, not your fault."

The other two quickly slid down the ladders.

"There is a group close behind! I know a place we can hide out!" The black man exclaimed, running ahead as he put some headphones on.

"Here!" The woman offered the other two some ear plugs.

The raven took them, putting some ear plugs on himself before helping the redhead. The four stayed as a group, the redhead behind the other two. The woman would throw her knives when needed while the black man tried to hold back on lighting cans on fire. They didn't want to attract noise, especially since one of them was hurt.

The raven groaned, the redhead stopping, "Are you okay?"

"M-Mhmm..." The raven reassured, "I-I can run, it's not like-"

"No, you're not running with a sprained ankle." The redhead decided.

"But, babe, I'm slowing you down-"

"No, you're not, you barely weigh a thing."

The raven grumbled, "Why are you so stubborn?"

"Could say the same to you."

"Could you both have this lovers' quarrel later?" The woman asked as they continued moving.

They almost made it out of the town without running into anyone, nearing the surrounding woods. However, before they could run, they stopped. In front of them, stood two other people. There was a yellow speaker, where a demon woman sat, her wings and tail out, covered in blood. She had a feather boa on, wearing a simple purple dress that fell to her upper thighs. Beside her was a redheaded man, in bright pink and blue clothing, pink blood falling from their eyes, their noses, their mouths.

"Oh, shit, Aqua and Cherry." The redhead stepped back a bit.

The two turned, smiling brightly.

"PICO!" The man yelled, though the four couldn't hear him, only able to read his lips, "AND NENE AND DARNELL AND GARNET! WOOOOOOW! YOU GUYS CAME AT THE PERFECT TIME!"

Pico gently set Garnet down, the raven taking a gun out of his bag. Darnell held his arm out, protecting the other three.

"It's so awesome to see you guys again! Here, why don't we sing a song?! We all have such beautiful voices, it'll be perfect!"

Darnell lit a can on fire, tossing it towards the man. Aqua was quick to move out of the way before it could harm him, though Cherry stayed seated on the yellow speaker.

"Now, now, that's not very nice!" Cherry seemed to say.

Pico stood beside Darnell, tugging his arm. The man turned to the redhead, reading his lips. They didn't say a word, knowing they wouldn't hear each other anyways, just mouthed to each other as Nene and Garnet held their weapons. Aqua tried to step forward, but Nene readied a knife while Garnet cocked his gun.

Suddenly, Pico stood in front of the other three, lifting his gun and aiming at the two. Garnet went to step forward as well, but Darnell picked him up, throwing him over his shoulder. He was confused as Darnell grabbed Nene's hand and the two began to run. He blinked, staring at Pico, expecting him to follow.

But he didn't.

"Pico?" Garnet questioned, "Pico!" He called.

The redhead looked at him and smiled.

"...Pico! Pico, come on!"

The redhead read his lips and shook his head. Tears came to Garnet's eyes as he reached out, struggling in Darnell's hold. He watched as Pico looked away and fired his gun.

"PICO, PICO, COME ON! DARNELL, STOP PICO! LET ME GO, PICO, PLEASE, PLEASE, PICO!" The raven sobbed, shaking in the other's hold, "Please... don't leave me alone..."

Months passed with Darnell, Nene, and Garnet learning to survive with the new virus spreading throughout the world.

They called it the "Valentine Virus", or V-Virus for short. It was unclear where it originated or when it started spreading, but the thing was dangerous. It spreads through Love Language and, if a healthy person accepts that love, then they also become affected. Once infected, the person is basically a walking zombie, as it seems to convince its host that everything is "perfect". And because they are living "a perfect life", they wish to pull others into the perfect life. Because it's so recent and new, there's no cure, so survivors have to hide until someone hopefully finds a cure or to wait until all the infected die off.

However, surviving is hard.

The three would sneak around the city when they need food or drinks, trying their best to avoid the dead bodies surrounding the place and the infected that still lingered around. They figured out it was easier to blend in if they wore bright colored clothes, as that's what the infected seemed to wear, and they made sure to always wear earplugs to avoid words of affirmation.

One day, Garnet was by himself, wearing a white jacket with bunny ears, a pink mask to cover his nose and mouth, purple pants, and a purple backpack, all of which were stolen and washed. He looked down and avoiding eye contact with everyone, not knowing who was or wasn't infected and not wanting to find out. He went into a grocery store and saw most of the shelves were cleaned off. He sped-walked to the canned food aisle, shoving as much as he could into his bag before turning around. In and out. He thought, walking out of the store quickly.

A little too quick as, when he did, he ran into someone and both of them fell back. He made sure his hood was still up and-

Oh no.

"Oh, you dropped something!" The person said, picking up the earplug with a bloodied hand, "Here you go, handsome!"

"I'm not handsome." Garnet quickly said to avoid accepting the virus, scooting back.

"Aww, are you shy?" The man grabbed Garnet's ankles, "Coooome oooon, you can take it-"

"L-Let go of me-!"

The man grabbed Garnet's face, his eyes, nose, and mouth, dripping pink blood. A sign of the infected.

"Take it." The man spat out blood.

Garnet moved his legs from under the guy and kicked him over his head. He grabbed his bag and ran, ducking into an alleyway. He heard people behind him, running and yelling for him. He covered his ear with one hand, using his other to dig into his bag. He found his gun and turned, shooting at the infected people, slowing them down. He knew it wouldn't stop them, this virus was strong and manipulated its victims' until it was basically a rotting corpse, and then some. He faced forward and continued running, ducking into multiple alleyways, trying his best to run as far away as possible.

When he ran out of breath, he stopped and hid behind a dumpster, panting and gasping for breath, using the alley and dumpster as cover. He groaned, taking out his other ear plug and tossing it in frustration. He pulled his knees up and hugged them to his chest. Why... Why is this happening? Why is this stupid virus taking over?! I thought living with a transphobic and homophobic dad was hell... That's a dream compared to this! Garnet thought.

"There you are!"

Garnet widened his eyes, "Pico...?" He whispered to himself.

"I've been looking for you!"

Garnet slowly looked up, ready to smile and run into the redhead's arms.

However, he stopped himself.

Tears flooded his eyes, waterfalling down his cheeks almost instantly as he stared at his boyfriend. Pico's wardrobe had completely changed. He wore a bright yellow sweater vest over a black shirt, the sweater having white hearts all over it, light pinkish-gray pants, a white cape tied around his neck with a winged design, and bright orange shoes. He had his gun strapped to his hip with pink and red blood splattered all over him, both from infected and uninfected people.

However, the reason Garnet was crying was seeing the hearts in Pico's eyes, literal hearts, and pink blood falling from his eyes, nose, and mouth. It seemed he tried to shoot himself to stop everything, as his one ear was blown off, pink blood staining the hair around it.

"My gem! Where have you been?!" Pico walked towards him, "Awww, you got a little bunny hood, is that what you wanted to surprise me with?"

Garnet shakily got up and aimed his gun at Pico, shaking the whole time, tears falling down his cheeks. He bit it bottom lip, trying to take deep breaths, but he was just shaking.

"That's so cute, you have a bow, too!" Pico held up his gun, "I love how yours is a pastel pink, it suits you!" He stepped forward.

"N-Not another s-step!" Garnet tried to stand firm, "D-Don't!"

The redhead did so, confused, "Babe, is something wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost!"

"D-Don't call me that! Y-You're a dead man walking!"

Pico tilted his head, confused, "Garnet? What's wrong?"

Garnet put his second hand on the gun, shaking still, trying to steady himself.

"Garnet? What's wrong?" He repeated, "Why... Why are you being so weird?"

The raven took shaky breaths through his nose, trying his best to pull himself together. Come on, Garnet, he's not the real Pico! He's infected, you need- He swallowed the lump in his throat, You need to shoot him and get away!

"Garnet?" Pico questioned, tilting his head, blood dripping from his mouth, "Garnet, what's wrong? Please, tell me-"

The raven felt like he was going to have a panic attack, maybe he was already in the mist of one. He stepped back, tears waterfalling down his face, barely able to breathe as he stared at his boyfriend- was that still the right word? His boyfriend was infected with this virus so it wasn't really him and he just... didn't know.

Pico tried to step forward, "Babe-"

"D-DON'T!" Garnet yelled, stopping the redhead in his track. The raven looked down, sobbing, "D-Don't c-call me t-that..."

"...Gar, I just don't understand what's going on? You're crying so much and you won't let me hug you or help you... You know I'll protect you, right? I'll take care of you, you know that, right?"

"N-No, no, no y-you won't..." Garnet tried to stop shaking as he looked back up, trying to aim, just like Pico taught him, "Y-You're infected... You're... You're not okay..."

"'Infected?' What're you talking about? I'm fine, perfect, even! But... I've missed you. I've been looking for you."

The raven was silent, if you didn't count his sobs and hiccups.

"You know, it's not perfect without you." The redhead looked down solemnly, "I see Aqua and Cherry and they're... so happy together and I remember us being like that. Granted, we didn't do as much PDA, it was more private, but still. I... I've really missed you and was worried about if you were mad at me or something... Did I do something? Is that why you're acting weird?"

You sacrificed yourself. You had to be the damn hero. You- Garnet sobbed as he lowered his gun, "You left me..."

"I what? No, I-"

"You left me alone..." The raven whimpered, "Y-You... You left me... despite knowing my past and..." He couldn't finish.

"...I'm sorry, Garnet. I'm sorry." The redhead cooed, "I... I didn't mean to make you feel so alone. You... You know I love you, right?"

Garnet didn't say anything, but he knew the answer.

"I love you so much, G. You know I can, and will, take care of you. I want to protect you, to cherish you, you're my gem, remember?"

Garnet was silent.

"Come on, Garnet!" Pico opened his arms, smiling softly, "I promise, I'll take care of you for the rest of your life!"

That...

"I'll protect you, get you whatever you want, spoil you, you won't want for anything, I promise!"

That sounds...

"I love you, Garnet! So much!"

The raven dropped his gun and bag, running over to Pico. He sobbed as he ran over, practically jumping into Pico's arms as the redhead hugged him tightly, soothing him.

That sounds perfect.

Garnet felt sick almost immediately after he fell into Pico's arms. He coughed up reddish-pink blood, his legs becoming jello. Pico helped set them down as Garnet coughed and gagged, feeling lightheaded, nauseous. He felt blood trickle down his nose, felt blood mix with his tears, coughing up more pink blood.

Until, finally, Pico helped him to the dumpster as he vomited pure bright pink blood.

"Well?"

Garnet looked at Pico and... everything looked... brighter? It was happier, there was no broken buildings- wait, why would there be? There was no scariness of needing to survive- wait, survive from what? And Pico's injuries seemed healed and- wait, was he ever hurt? No, he couldn't have been, no one would hurt an angel with a bow and love-filled arrows!

"Feeling better? Feeling okay?" Pico asked, cupping his cheeks.

Garnet blinked before he smiled, nodding. Why was he so upset before? Pico was here, he was here, everything was fine, everything was perfect!

"Here." Pico picked Garnet up, smiling, "I'll carry you home. You had an eventful day! Time for you to relax!" The redhead kissed his cheek as he began walking home, "I love you!"

"I love you too." Garnet smiled.

Everything was perfect.

I'm starting an art blog (not abandoning this one)

Hey guys!

Sorry I keep disappearing for long periods of time. The last few months have been a bit of a mess.

I have been trying to find the courage to try and start making money from my art, and I'm finally starting to set things up so I can have a slightly more professional online presence. Which, to be fair, it's simply setting up an artblog for more serious pieces that isn't also flooded by reblogs.

I only have one post ready to go but you can now find me as drowsysaer. I'm definitely going to post fanart on there as well, but I'm going to be bouncing around between other things I am a fan of and want to draw.

I plan to keep being active on here as well, both with reblogs and posting most of my pokemon related art. But if you want to support me or you're just curious to see what else I'm working on that's where I'm going to put most of my energy for now! tl;dr: I have a new art blog!

((also, if anyone is worried about the animation, I'm just terribly slow since it's not a medium I'm used to, but I still plan on finishing it!))

okay so i started my wizardmon collection a year or two ago, and at the time there were no open listings for this rare stackable tsum-tsum loaf plushie/digi-digi otedama beanbag thing ANYWHERE. so i thought i was out of luck. i got the regular plushie of him but i was really bummed i missed out on this one cuz it's sooo cute.

then, just the other day, my friend @peach-artblog asked me if i had a certain golden gacha mini-figurine in my collection (i didn't but now i do), and that prompted me to go back to ebay again. and guess who finally had a listing! so i SLAMMED that buy button as hard and fast and recklessly as i possibly could.

but then i thought, surely there is a matching gatomon one of these, and it would be cruel to separate the two of them, so i went looking for her and ordered her too. but then i kept looking for other wizard things that might have popped up since the last time i searched, and i found a cheaper gatomon on another site, but i had to wait for the one i'd already ordered to let me cancel it, since it apparently had to be approved by the seller since it had been a few hours. (this is important because it resulted in wiz and gato being ordered several days apart)

then a few days after THAT, i discovered that a certain phone charm i had seen plenty of times before and thought was fan-made was actually official! so i HAD to have it for my collection too, of course, and when i went to order it (from a third website), it reminded me of a funky thing with my address that sometimes causes it to get input wrong. so i went back to the other things i had ordered to make sure that hadn't happened, and guess what? it HAD. specifically with the gatomon otedama. so i emailed that seller right away, and they got back to me within MINUTES. apparently they were JUST about to ship it out (a bit later than i had expected too), so it sure was a good thing i got that fixed when i did! and i ONLY caught it because i had been looking at this OTHER purchase. (so very narrowly avoided further delays on gatomon)

so i'm carefully watching the tracking for the wizardmon otedama because i've been wanting it for years, this is the only listing ANYWHERE within that timespan, and our local shipping center has been fumbling things lately so i'm VERY worried about it arriving safely. and then the worst happens. i get a notification that the package has been 'forwarded' due to incorrect handling/labeling. basically the post office screwed up and sent it to the wrong place and it's being sent back. i feel sick. i have my husband call the post office and the first lady he gets is very rude and unhelpful, then he tries again (bless his heart) a few hours later and THIS lady explains that the vague ass forwarding message just means that it's been slightly delayed but it IS still on its way to us, and not to some random wrong address or back to the seller. so we cross our fingers and wait. (so long story short, wizardmon otedama got delayed)

and today, on the expected delivery date for gatomon and and the last day for wizardmon to arrive without me freaking out super hard, the two of them miraculously arrived safely, and together, despite being ordered on different days from different sellers!

and if that ain't magic i dunno what is.

It’s the kiddos!

These four are kingdings fankids me and @bernardo-draws-and-cries have had for a while (as in, Bethany and Lancer exist since 2016, Belle and Aster since 2017). I decided to do some small redesigns for them!

Or for their humanized forms, at least. It’s been 7 years and I don’t feel comfortable in delving on their more canon accurate versions (Bê has them)

They’re part of an au we have together, HCWT, they also appear on other aus that we’ve delved into in the many years of kingdings brainrot we had. But HCWT is their main place. That being said, there is a lot of stuff that is muddy/vague since it’s such an old au that we haven’t touched in a few years, and also we’ve done so many iterations of it that it’s hard to know what is canon now. I’m going to be kinda basing it on the original fanfic we had for it for a lot of the basic stuff. (it was written in portuguese so not super accessible for most people reading this)

They all have font names, I’m still surprised that I managed to find fonts for Bethany and Belle after they were created (Bethany Script and La Belle Aurore respectively)

Also they all appear in different ages in the au(s), these are just the most seen ones. Bethany also is shown a lot when she’s five, and both Belle and Aster when they’re older. Sometimes also they are in different age order and stuff, but I’m just going to talk about the HCWT version on the ages shown here. There’s a lot of old stuff for a lot of the other aus in my artblog that i never shown here, This blog actually was originally an ask blog for an underfell au where only Aster and Belle existed.

- Bethany is the oldest, both in creation order and in universe. Her childhood is a bit of a muddy area since we haven’t touched that part of the au in a while, but for now, she was born a few years before the pacifist ending happens. In HCWT we have her being the next one in line for running human-monster deals after Asgore retires from that, I don’t really see Asriel or Chara being too excited to do that, but she’s pretty up for the task.

(Chara and Asriel are brought back in the au also)

She’s a pretty no nonsense kind of person, but she lets herself be a goof around her sibilings, friends and nibilings/cousins (thats a worm hole im not willing to deal with right now). She also has a best friend called Daniel, not pictured here, and she’s a bit of the voice of reason of the two, but she’s often part of the shenanigans. They end up living together a while after.

Very strong also, took it after Asgore, could lift all her sibilings + Gaster all at once.

- Lancer is a bit funny to share with people after Deltarune released, I’m still a bit shocked at this coincidence. Not a lot of what he does is set in stone, a pretty wild card in this sense. Nice, kind kid, helps a lot on Asgore’s flower shop after school and on weekends. He’s blind and got a guide dog named Jack, which does end up being how he meets his girlfriend Berry, who was working as a volunteer when he went to get Jack. I got a very soft spot for him, he’s just a little guy, sunshine impersonated.

- Belle is a big book worm since small, it came from a way to pass the time when she can’t do much physically demanding things, like Aster does. So she spends a lot of time with Gaster, becoming a bit of an assistant to him as she gets older. And while she does look and act pretty chill most of the time, she is an anger bomb, very short tempered. Scary angry little goat-skele. Years later she begins dating a human named Barbara.

- Aster! My baby boy! Liddle man! I love him so much. He’s a very athletic kid, loves sports, grows up to be a manlet, almost a himbo, but he’s pretty smart. They love each other, but he and Belle are the two most likely to butt heads around the house, being the two most hot headed ones in there. He also begins dating some years down the line, with a spider mosnter named Epaminondas (Epa for short).

This is just the tip of the iceberg of HCWT, there’s a lot more in it, but I wanted to focus on these four lil fellas :] Probably not going to share much more stuff about it, if at all here, but this was fun to revisit!
