#i personally LOVE tipping my piercer and it's the best way i can show her that i LOVE her work even when i tell her

I love giving advice, apparently, so if you are a newly pierced person or are planning on being pierced, here are some of the things I found helpful, as somebody who isn't a professional piercer but has had six plus piercings on my face and body, and multiple ear piercings (which I don't count, since I DIY'd them):

Normal bath towels are your enemy, proceed with caution after bathing. NEVER wipe moisture away from a fresh piercing, always pat it dry

You will hit a new piercing and it will hurt. This is inevitable, just know that you likely haven't destroyed it. Feel free to cry, though, it hurts like hell.

If your piercer gives you instructions, heed them. If you're on restrictions, please take it as seriously as possible

When you're going in for a piercing, please eat or drink something - at least what constitutes as a snack for your body. It really helps

If you're getting an oral piercing, make sure you size down after the healing period - I hadn't sized down for my last oral piercing when I first had the chance, and it was... so annoying to have too-large of jewelry

Not all jewelry is made equally. Do your research on materials, threading, and sizing. I've found that titanium jewelry is really nice for me, and I like it, but that isn't the only option. Make sure you think about your body and its needs and preferences

Close your eyes while being pierced (I found this really helps me)

Don't over-clean a new piercing, twice per day is usually a good place to start

The completed healing period is a very average suggestion - you may heal slower or faster. Try to adhere to that suggestion, though, especially if you do not feel you're healed enough

Personally, I have found that I am completely healed when my piercing feels like just another part of my body, even when it is touched. When my piercings start to feel as though they are foreign when they never do before, I know I likely need to clean them

While I have DIY'd piercings, I personally do not recommend it, especially if you are either not using sterilized equipment, or are piercing a very dangerous place (like the tongue). If you are absolutely positive about committing to the DIY mindset, please try to do due diligence in research at least

Tip your piercer. Body mods are a luxury service, and it takes years to even become a piercer, much less to be proficient at it. Tip your piercer, ESPECIALLY if their prices feel too good to be true - they likely are. Unless you are directed otherwise by your piercer, just assume that you will be tipping them for their services and budget accordingly

Make sure you understand how your piercer wants you to take care of your piercing, and ask questions. There is no question too "dumb"

If you are getting a body part pierced you are insecure about, realize your piercer has most likely seen HUNDREDS of different body parts of various sizes, shapes, and oddities. Your body is not uniquely bad, nor would a good piercer make you feel unwelcome or uncomfortable with your body. If they do, however, DO NOT go through with the piercing. You should feel safe being pierced by somebody, and, indeed, that is the bare minimum.

If you use saline wash to clean piercings, you can DIY it. You will go through NeilMed like no other, and with it being $5USD a bottle, that price can rack up quickly. Make sure you use distilled water and non-iodized salt, though

If your piercing is infected, please don't be too ashamed to seek help. It's in your best interest to make sure you don't get ill or your site gets nasty ("nasty" as in painful)

These are just some of the things I've learned being a pierced person! My piercings are something I absolutely needed, and I do not for a minute regret having them. I want that same happiness to befall you, and that happens when you are able to understand a bit more what goes into piercings. You are, essentially, getting a new body part installed by a pro, and so I don't want you to not be ready for that.

Again, I am not a professional piercer, but am rather a body piercing enthusiast with many different types of piercings. I don't have every piercing, though, so please look at this critically for the piercing(s) that you want or have. At least, treat this like a soft suggestion or ways to help you brainstorm what you will find helpful.

A/N: I adore this prompt SO much! I hope y’all like it! Happy Tuesday night :)

Duff was always by your side, your companion for every task, from the mundane grocery shopping and errands to fun dates to the amusement park or just enjoying lunch out somewhere. That also included trips to the tattoo parlor whenever he’d get the itch for a new tattoo, or the time you got your nose pierced. After all, you had to hold someone’s hand.

Now, it felt odd to be sitting inside the tattoo parlor without him present. There were two reasons for it; he was gone on a short trip for media interviews with Slash to promote their upcoming shows in Europe. That, and this piercing made you nervous.

Maybe that was all the more reason to have him there, but for some reason, you were afraid he wouldn’t like it. Izzy accompanied you instead, and you told him as much. He was only puzzled.

“Y/N, Duff has piercings too. What makes you think he wouldn’t find a belly button piercing attractive?” You shrugged.

“Because I’m still on the fence about it myself. I mean...I don’t know. Maybe I don’t have the body for it.” You weren’t expecting Izzy to shove your shoulder. “Hey! What?”

“Don’t be stupid.” He scolded you mildly. “Y/N, he’s crazy about you. He loves everything about you. Everything you love, he loves. You know how you wear that yellow shirt of yours all the time?”

You glanced down at it, amazed that you were wearing it. You had never really noticed.

“I do?” Izzy chuckled.

“Yes. And before you, Duff always used to say he didn’t really like yellow; I have a pair of yellow leather pants he would always tell me he hated. But the other day, he said ‘I love it when Y/N wears that yellow blouse. She looks like a flower.’” You felt your heart expanding.

“I miss him.” You mumbled, to which Izzy rolled his eyes good-naturedly.

“I’m sure he misses you too.”

It wasn’t long before the piercer was prepping her tools and you were gripping Izzy’s hand.

“Can you ease up, maybe?” He asked tentatively, wincing.

“Izzy, I asked you to come for this reason alone!” You hissed back.

“Aw, I’m flattered.” He replied back sarcastically. “Haven’t you gotten multiple piercings before?”

“What, is that supposed to make it hurt less?”

“Just a little pinch now,” your piercer warned you, an amused half smile on her face. She had pierced you before. “No Duff today?” It was a genuine question, but also her way of keeping you distracted.

“No, he had some work to do.” You winced.

“What do you think he’s gonna think?” She asked excitedly.

“I don’t know—and I don’t know why I don’t know.”

“Oh, fuck him if he doesn’t like it. But it’s Duff, I promise he’s gonna love it.” Izzy interjected, also wincing from you gripping his hand. “And then I’m gonna have to hear all about Y/N’s new piercing...” he muttered. You squeezed his hand hard on purpose. “Ow.”

“You’re all done! It looks great, Y/N.” You inspected your new belly button piercing in the mirror. Even Izzy nodded in approval.

“It does look cool.” Izzy admitted, giving you that slight smile of his. “You’re worrying for nothing.”

Duff returned home that next evening. Your initial excitement had worn off and now you were back to being nervous of showing him.

“Y/N, babe! I have something to show you!” Was the first thing out of his mouth when he got out of the car. It caught you off guard.

“...Oh really?” You replied, momentarily allowing yourself to be distracted. And then he made you feel even better when he lifted you up in the air, spinning you around in a tight hug. Suddenly, your apprehension felt silly; this was Duff. How many nights had you spent spilling your every insecurity to him while he listened earnestly before he kissed every fear away? How many tears had he wiped from your eyes, how many frowns had he fixed?

Your insecurity instantly vanished and the confidence Duff always inspired in you flourished. “Actually, I have something to show you too.” You smiled, feeling nothing but excitement. His eyes perked up in surprise and you seized the moment to kiss his lips.

“Really?”

“You first or me?” You continued. He smiled, placing you back on the ground.

“Me first. Save the best for last.” The smile on your face was beginning to hurt. You watched anxiously as he began taking off his denim jacket without the faintest idea of what he was about to show you. He stretched his forearm out in front of you and you realized there was a new tattoo. You squinted your eyes a little before you gasped. There was a new rose, the ink still fresh and the color vibrant. Better yet, along the stem was your name.

“Duff!” You exclaimed. “You went without me?” You pouted.

“Well, yeah. I wanted to surprise you.” He explained. You smiled, leaning up on your tip-toes to rest your hands on his shoulders. “Do you like it?”

“Tattoos are permanent you know,” you teased him, pouting your lips again in an effort to get a kiss.

“So are we, baby.” He kissed you lovingly, almost reluctant to pull back. “Now your turn.”

You lifted your shirt up just beneath your chest and his mouth popped open a little. “You went without me?” He joked, leaning down a little to take a closer look. “Holy shit, Y/N, it looks badass. I guess you’re just gonna have to wear crop tops all the time now...” he reached out and pulled you closer to kiss the top of your head. “You’re the only person in the world who can be both adorable as fuck and sexy as hell.”

At that moment, Izzy emerged from the apartment behind you. He already looked tired by the time Duff spotted him.

“Hey, Izzy, Y/N has the coolest piercing!”

“Oh, does she.” He replied without interest, sending you a pointed look and instantly pulling out a cigarette. You giggled.

“Come see Duff’s new tattoo, Izzy!” You called excitedly. He walked over silently and inspected Duff’s arm. His expression didn’t change as he looked between the both of you.

“Will you fucking get married already?”

Writing Tips

I get a lot of asks about tips on writing so i figured i’d just make a huge ass post for ya’ll :)

this shit covers: character, plot, motivation, past vs present tense, 3rd vs 1st verson, oneshots vs multi chapter fics, moodboards for character building, dialogue, oc’s vs reader inserts, face claims, the grocery store test, the meme test

Character

okay i want to start by saying: i used to write imagines so writing in character was like MY THING for like 6 years so i have a LOT OF PRACTICE with watching something and picking up on characters and i’ve spent THOUSANDS of hours watching shows. so like, i’ve spent a lot of time on this you know? so don’t feel bad if you have a life and havent had as much practice :)

so at the moment, i’ve been doing character mood boards to help figure out a character? but the thing about that is im picky about face claims and it can be hard so this is an easily skippable option and i’m not even sure if i enjoy it yet you know?

so first: i think of a story. i think of the type of OC that’s involved, i think about what they’re like, (i sometimes find a face claim), i give them a name

for me, as soon as they have a name and sort of a face in my brain, they take on a life of their own. a character knows when you’ve found the right name and face for it and it comes alive when you do. like for me, Birdie was originally ‘Cherry’ but she was like ‘bitch no’ and wouldn’t let me write her until i found her name.

to be honest. i don’t plan things. like. when i write, the character just takes over. i have no control. they do what they want. fucking Valentina and Harry in Trouvaille, i had a whole angst scene for them and these assholes decided to go on the terrace and tell each other they like each other instead and then the story just ended. like. i had a pLAN and they RUINED IT.

you can’t be afraid if letting your characters do what they want to do. when you plot, a loose outline is good but i just throw my characters into a situation and see where they go.

like for my final gang au chapter, did i want Michael to leave town? no. but he needed to take Dove and get the fuck out of there you know?

i don’t make playlists really, sometimes certain songs stick to people, like one of my characters, his song right now is Girlfriend by Anderson East and that song was sort of inspiration.

I don’t know where my inspiration comes from. obviously i write a FUCK ton so let me see if i can explain a few past stories and where they came from.

Gang AU was born from a post by @hereforlukescruff​ about the song ‘Or Nah.’

Cromulent was based off a tumblr post about enemies fake dating

Wild one was legit just me figuring out how to work all of @glitterprincelu​s fav things into one fic

Floral was based off of looking at my favourite tattoo artists floral tattoos

Trouvaille was originally pompous New York! Calum but as i developed it, it was Harry and i couldn’t stop him from pushing Cal out of the way and being like ‘this is my apartment you wanker get the fuck out of here and let me smoke and paint in peace.’

Noise was originally based off an idea by @palliddark​ that i was blessed enough to receive, she also had influence in Cromulent because months ago she requested a post about the boys recording having sex for a song.

So i think what we’re realizing here is a lot of it comes through interacting with other creators. one of my new pieces is based off of 2 5sos songs and one is based off of a person in Love Island. so inspo can hit from anywhere

the fic im working on now came from me talking to @harryforvogue​ about the new Gucci ads Harry did.

i started a Greaser Cal that i dropped cuz im a whore, but it was inspired by @calsangel​ and hopefully it gets completed sometime soon

like. talking to other creative people is just a breeding pool for ideas. people you trust and love, people who you can bounce off of. listen for stories in music, study people and characters and who knows where it might lead you :)

i hope this helps. but yeah. my number one piece of advice: talk about writing, talk about stories, talk about the guys you want to write about and inspo WILL hit.

also to all the people i have tagged i hope you know how much you guys mean to me. like. i really appreciate all you guys do and how much support you’ve given me and continue to give me. i hope i can offer the same support in return and i love you all with my whole heart.

****** Moodboard and Character (final thoughts)

So basically since i wrote that OG advice, i’ve begun to realize: moodboards are a good tool because if you can easily come up with 9 pics for a character they’re pretty well thought out. 

for example, my easiest moodboard to make was for Birdie in my gang au

Birdie: likes scrunchies, reading, classic stories, ice cream, bubblegum, lollipops, acrylic nails, having her hair in a bun

my worst moodboard was for a character named Annabelle from Noise

i started and was like... who is Annabelle: she’s blonde... she uhhhh is doing psychology?

and that’s all i could get because Annabelle was a mostly dialogue driven character with no actual mentioned likes or dislikes, in my eyes, Annabelle was not a well thought out character.

so moodboards can help because they show you how well you’ve got your characters figured out.

Plot

so plot is tough. i tend to gravitate more to character driven plot because characters are my #thing. i’m going to start by going through some of my plotlines and going over the good and bad and hopefully have an answer at the end of it after picking apart my writing. should be FUN.

long fic plots

Noise plot: Annabelle gets a new neighbour and he keeps fucking girls and waking her up and they have banter, he’s a hothead and invites her to psychoanalyze him and it leads to some tension but he is soft for her right away and they a little awkward with each other but finally give love a try.

Floral plot: would renowned tattoo artist Calum chooses a new apprentice, socially awkward and anxious Lily, they’re attracted to each other but the confines of a boss and pupil relationship are tight and evident, creating tensions. Calum struggles with being professional while falling for the cute apprentice, especially when pressure is put on them by their friends, after slow burn and anxiousness they finally get together.

Cromulent plot: Calum has a new PR relationship with Chlo and he hates her, he thinks she’s fake and does everything he can to piss her off, finally deciding to fuck with her emotions by being a GREAT boyfriend which ends up hurting her and he realizes maybe she’s not so bad after all, things are a little confusing but they finally sit down and talk it out and address some of Calum’s insecurities about her past relationships and PR stunts, they agree to give love a try.

so, from these 3 long fic outlines we can see i usually go for character based turmoil which works well for fics between 10-15k (or longer, Trouvaille fits this format and it was 19k) I just think, relationships take time and people struggle to figure themselves out enough to enter a relationship. if you have some fiery characters and banter (Cromulent and Noise) or perhaps awkward anxiety and tip toeing (Floral and Trouvaille) shit works out you know?

for smaller oneshot fics plots can be easier and more situational i think.

Movie Snack plot : Cal goes to Luke and his GF’s place for movies and Luke gets bored and eats the reader out in front of Cal which leads to sex.

Road Trip plot : Luke and reader are dating and on a road trip they’re horny but end up having to share a room with Cal who has always had a thing for the reader, smut ensues. 

Stay Still plot : Tattooist!Cal is the readers fuck buddy and she goes to get her tits pierced, ending up with Luke as her piercer, but Calum shows up and angst leads to smut.

so yeah, for smaller 1-5k little smut pieces it can be more relaxed, smut is just smut, not love, and sex is a hell of a lot easier than love you know? 

yeah, so that’s all my plot advice

3rd person, 1st person, what the fuck person

when it comes to HOW you write your fic (what person, what tense, etc...) that’s up to you. it’s honestly whatever you feel best in. i’ve dabbled with a bit of everything. you just have to find what feels the most natural to you :) that’s the only advice i can give on this because no one thing is better than the other, it’s up to you.

one tip for 3rd person i have is to generally focus on one character. i’m a fan of doing the thing where for example, in Cromulent, we focus on Calum and why he doesn’t like Chlo. if we switched to Chlo a lot it would take away from the unreliable narration and bias Calum has. the good thing is to stay with Calum and be angry at Chlo and realize with Cal that she’s not so bad.

but that’s just me.

you can do switching when characters are together or on a phone call, like if you’re with Calum but he’s calling (for example) Chlo and then you want to see her reaction you can do

Calum groaned, staring at the ceiling, “bla bla cal saying shit”

“bla bla Chlo answering” she held the phone tighter etc...

and just like that you’re now with Chlo not Calum. 

*********** OC’s vs Reader Insert

i’ll be real here: for some reason, i feel like reader inserts are more read on tumblr and i started out doing reader inserts to build a following. 

personally, i prefer writing OC’s because you can go more in depth with EVERYTHING. 

it’s honestly up to you what you want to do. i’ve decided to do my short smuts at reader insert and longer fics as OC but it’s whatever works for you at the end of the day.

Dialogue

I’m a fan of dialogue driving story, Noise was so much fucking dialogue it’s insane. finding your characters voice is important and sticking with that makes a huge difference. if you’re character can kind of be seen based JUST on what they’re saying, thats a good sign.

i hate to say it but imma say it: when doing 5sos it’s important to know they’re Australian. some countries have different mannerisms and such, for example, i’m Canadian but i can’t have Calum out here saying “it’s a nice day eh?” you know? so, i would advise to try to get a handle on accents and word choice specifically to make them more believable. as is said in the iconic movie Tropic Thunder

Motivation

so this is probably one of the biggest issues writers are facing and i’m about to get REAL AS FUCK.

on tumblr, it can feel like once you gain a following you CONSTANTLY need to be pumping shit out for them.

back in the day, i was posting a HC a day and a lot of it was for hogwarts!5sos. it felt like a job, which wasn’t anyone elses doing per se, i just think a lot of fic writers get caught up in this pressure whether it’s imposed by anons or not (im lucky that i’ve never had anon pressure and i’m very grateful for my amazing followers tbh)

Tumblr is not a job. if you’re writing, write for you. you are blessing tumblr with you’re writing. please don’t feel pressure to put stuff out or write a new chapter or anything.

if you ever feel like you’re under a lot of pressure, take a few days away, find the root of your writing joy. always do what you want to do. if you have to turn off asks to feel sane, do it. if you gotta block mean anons pressuring you, do it. you don’t owe anyone anything.

your writing is a gift graciously bestowed on this hellsite and this site shouldn’t make you feel pressured to write and give content FOR FREE. it shouldn’t make you lose your passion and make writing feel like a chore or job.

motivation can be hard. i’m a fucking psycho so don’t use me as a base for what you should be doing. i put out a fic a week which i really shouldn’t be doing, it’s not practical. but i can type fast as fuck and writing 1 or 2k in 10 minutes is normal for me so don’t use me as an example you know.

go at your own pace. write what you love. write au’s or for the characters you love and hopefully the rest will come.

******** Multi Chapter vs oneshots

ok more realness, pros and cons of each

oneshots:

pros:

-its one and done, no need to worry about putting out more

-they can be fun

-it’s all in one place which a lot of readers like

Cons:

-can be long af

-take longer to write since a oneshot is probably like 10+k depending on who you are as opposed to perhaps 5k chapters of a multi chapter fic 

Multi Chapter

pros:

-people are excited for more

-cliffhangers are fun

-people interact with you more about chapters to come

cons:

-more pressure to put out new chapters

-with each new chapter you’re probably losing likes because people get bored or forget about it because people sometimes don’t have the attention span or whatever to continue reading whenever you update

-usually tend to be longer than a oneshot (5k chapters means that in 2 chapters you have probably surpasses a oneshot length of 10ishk)

So i will be real. i prefer oneshots. i adore my gang au which was long as fuck and super multi chaptered but it’s tough to see the likes go down and down. plus, i wrote all of Penumbra (the main multi chaptered part) before i started putting it out so i had no pressure to write more cuz that shit was done before i started posting.

which does help. if you want to write the whole thing before you start posting it takes off the first con but you’re still left with the other 2.

Face Claims

i feel like for some characters they’re born without a face claim but i totally get it if you want to use a face claim before you even start. finding face claims can be hard so you have to get ready to go creep on insta and look at models and figure out who you like. a lot of insta models follow each other so once you find a model you like, look through their following list or recent likes to see other models.

another thing you can do is go for brands or photographers who link their models. Fashion Nova for example, if you’re scrolling through and like a girl the link is there. and the same goes for some photographers. there’s a lot of accounts that are just for hot girls with links to their instas so (even if it feel weird) you should go check those out :)

The Grocery Store Test

next, for making characters, i think for me name is a big part of it. once a character finds their name that character comes alive in my mind. i was thinking about this yesterday and i said to myself, ‘you know you have a good grasp on your character when you can imagine them in a grocery store and know what they’d do.’

for example:

Birdie (from Gang AU) would go look at nail polish and candy, Luke would legit have to put her in the cart to get her out of there and if there’s a book section? good luck man

Valentina (trouvaille) is just gorgeous. she and Harry would go and he’d push the cart and she’d have a nicely written notepad of things to get and she’d look so pretty, head bowed, crossing things off, and Harry would be such a melt for her. he would crash into things cuz he’s so busy paying attention to her. she’d be a fan of picking up boxes and reading out nutritional values just to point out to Harry that eggos are not good for him.

so, Valentina and Birdie are probably my best OC’s if i’m being honest and because of that, these were easy.

now, take a character i didn’t work on as much and suddenly it’s different

Annabelle (noise) never really talked about anything but school and shitting on Calum so, i mean, i guess i can think of what she’d do in a store but.. like, i’d have to think about it you know?

so to me, we can see the difference between a fully fledged OC and one that needs to be worked on.

but, Noise still got a lot of likes so i dunno, i’m just self critical i guess.

i think, when it comes to characters, everyone has flaws. Annabelle is too critical of Calum and has a stigma about wealth, Valentina… she’s flawless not gonna lie but she’s a little too afraid of stepping on other people’s toes and she should probably be less anxious, Birdie is way too sentimental and cries over everything, plus she’s way too trusting and naive at times.

it’s balance. but once a character is born in your brain, you just gotta give them love and hopefully others will as well :)

The Meme Test

my most recent advice is: if you can meme a character or dynamic between characters, you know you’re gucci. imma leave a meme here for a fic i’m working on and ya’ll will have no clue what it means but whatever it’s a point

WIJ Day Twenty Six: What’s a memorable moment that gave you whumperflies? @whumpmasinjuly

> I have so many of these and I’m going to take this as an opportunity to ramble about them endlessly in vaguely chronological order.

> My first memorable moment was a roleplay centring around human whumpees being sold to vampires. At the time, I didn’t know what whump was, but this roleplay definitely qualified. Felicity attends a party with James, meeting another girl who is much worse off than her. The vampire who threw the party takes a liking to Felicity and offers a temporary trade: Felicity for Elle. James, who is trying to uphold his reputation and overturn rumours that he’s ‘gone soft’ agrees to the trade, despite being in love with Felicity. He tells her to keep her head down and promises to come back for her before anything happens. But it’s a promise he can’t uphold and Felicity is badly injured before he returns with a proposal of ‘buying’ Elle and taking Felicity back.

> The next memorable moment is from the same roleplay, a little later on in the story. Word gets out about how James is acting and he becomes a target due to the fact he’s no longer interested in being brutal just for the sake of it. He makes an escape with both Felicity and Elle, none of whom are in any way prepared for any of it. They make it away from town — away from anyone who knows them. They stop at a supermarket to stock up on food, running into someone who recognises James. In the fight that ensues, Elle is injured and James is captured, leaving Felicity in the grasps of a less merciful vampire who kills her, pushing James over the edge.

> The second roleplay centres around an obsession-turns-kidnapping that actually turns out well for everyone involved. I remember being embarrassed at some of my suggestions, thinking they were ‘too much’ or ‘too twisted’ but it turns out they were just whumpy. I reread this roleplay recently and there are so many moments from it that I go back to over and over again.

> During and after a visit from police, Noah locks Paris in the cupboard in a frantic attempt to hide his presence from the officers. It works, but Noah is late for a class and has no time to untie Paris before he leaves — being late or not showing up after the visit would be suspicious. Only, he never wanted to lock Paris up in the first place. He comes home just over an hour later, finding Paris right where he left him, an emotional wreck. He’s rubbed his wrists raw trying to get out of the bindings and has exhausted himself from crying and struggling. But now Noah is there, and everything is okay.

> Paris and Noah get into a physical fight — their first one. Before, it was only angry exchanges of words. Noah completely loses his inhibitions, easily overpowering Paris and leaving him bruised and bleeding on the floor. While Paris is coming to, Noah rightly decides that they shouldn’t be together — that Noah should be getting some help. So he patches Paris up as best as he can and sends him away. Except Noah doesn’t anticipate how self destructive Paris is. Paris falls back into old drug and alcohol habits — ones he only stopped indulging due to the fact Noah was holding him captive. He’s a complete wreck over being ‘unwanted’ and loses almost two months to constant blackouts. Only when Noah turns up, ready to make amends, he sees just how bad things are for Paris. Pills scattered everywhere, a suicide note pushed back behind trash in the kitchen and blotchy memories of what Paris had spent the last month doing. After an emotional reunion, they fall asleep together and Noah realises that Paris is finally peaceful.

> After introducing a third, Aiden, to their relationship, Aiden gets himself into trouble. Aiden is dealing drugs and Paris pushes him to let him help to take some of the strain off of Aiden. After a tip off, police arrive at the house with a search warrant. Aiden previously gave Paris all of his drugs for a deal that fell through the previous night. Instead of allowing Aiden to also get into trouble, Paris pulls an officer aside to confess. Paris is convinced he’s doing the right thing, not realising he’s just being self-destructive.

> He gets a harsh prison sentence, becoming a target while he’s inside. Once he gets out, he’s all too aware of the fact he’s not the same person any more. Any sense of achievement of surviving prison is overshadowed by the constant fear encroaching on his life after his release.

> This next roleplay was the first time I wrote my OC Kay and I’m still absolutely in love with the entire plot.

> Kay and Jerome meet on neutral ground and, despite knowing how dangerous Jerome could be, Kay goes out of his way to antagonise him. When he’s finally shoved up against the wall and Jerome threatens to kill him, Kay brushes it off as flirting and that irritates Jerome to no end.

> Kay and Jerome are exposed for having an affair, which is strictly off limits for where they’re living. With concerns over their relationship and its potential long-term effects, Kay and Jerome are split up. After being completely uncooperative, Kay is arrested and led out in cuffs, while Jerome is left in their house alone. When they’re finally reunited, Jerome automatically assumes the worst and Kay has to talk him down from a panic.

> They move out shortly after and an old friend contacts Jerome and he and Kay only reluctantly get along. After realising that he and Jerome are under threat, Kay agrees to let Jerome’s friend help him train in self-defence, where he only ends up getting himself hurt and learning nothing.

> Finally, when Kay has to pay off a major debt he owes, he is manipulated into killing someone and helping with the cleanup. While he knows he should be distressed and be completely against it, he can’t help but enjoy the rush. Which is fine, until he gets back to his and Jerome’s apartment, covered in blood and having to explain himself.

> Andrew-Kay was my most recent long-term roleplay with @whumpymirages and there were some amazing moments and I’m probably forgetting most of them but here are some!

> Firstly, all of the times combined where Kay scared or worried Sky. Every time he spoke out of turn or lashed out and made her afraid of him, or at least, afraid of his consequences.

> Once Andrew clearly sets out the rules and Kay still doesn’t shut up — Andrew has to use the muzzle for the first time. And when Kay manages to loosen it overnight, earning himself a punishment and scaring Sky once more. And then, to make up for it, when he wears the muzzle voluntarily so Sky can spend a night away from Andrew.

> When he first meets Rory! Specifically, the way Rory is so unwilling to go against Andrew and is still being a terrible person, but the way he still treats Kay with some level of decency is perfect. And then the way he comforts Kay, making sure he doesn’t make himself ill. And the awkwardness of their blindfold session. All of that entire scene is so memorable.

> And then when Kay screws up Rory’s task and Andrew shocks him. And just the way it continues until Rory steps in to try and help, and then the comfort afterwards hurts just as much while he’s trying to clean Kay’s burns and being actually helpful for the first time. Also! The way Rory feels when he leaves, he knows it’s wrong that he’s helping Andrew, but also can’t stop doing it.

> Andrew takes Kay to a piercer and Rory tags along. As fun as the scene itself was to write and the fact it was memorable, the best bit was, again, Rory’s poor attempts at caretaking. The way he followed Kay over to the table, just hoping his presence helped! And then pushing a pissed off Andrew to buy pain relief. And asking for Kay’s real name. All of it was just. Yes.

> When Kay is struggling to eat because of the piercings and Sky involuntarily sacrifices herself to try and help Kay. It backfires and ends up with Sky taking a beating before Kay makes the stupid impulsive decision to try and step in and take the punishment for her. And then fast forward to Rory not being able to stay away and being forced to suddenly make a decision that changes everything.

> And then the movie scene! When Kay and Rory order pizza and just watch a movie — the first time since meeting Andrew where Kay feels normal. Kay feels so safe that he falls asleep on Rory, which is something he really needs at the time. And Rory’s feelings about it too! Both about a poor movie choice and about the fact Kay is touching him voluntarily, leading to them sharing a bed and Kay finally beginning to truly trust that Rory has good intentions.

> Kay manages to get hold of a knife while Rory is elsewhere, attempting to take off the shock collar and failing. When he can’t, he moves on to trying to hurt himself. It doesn’t do much damage and Rory finds him, once again having to put his own discomfort aside and fix Kay up. Just the way Rory is so angry about the fact that it happened and how he wants to do anything in his power to make sure Kay never tries anything similar again, even pretending that their relationship is ‘real’ and ‘normal’. Especially when he goes on later to think about what he’d want from Kay if this was all real.

> Possibly my favourite scene from the entire story though, Kay and Rory are doing their equivalent to a trust exercise and Kay pushes his luck, kissing Rory and leaving him completely overwhelmed and doubting himself, even though it was Kay who made the first move.

> A more general thing, but when Kay and Rory’s dynamic finally shifts when they begin planning the drive to Grand Rapids! The way neither of them are quite sure how to act around one another is great. It’s almost like they’re complete strangers again

> Also, Andrew’s phone call while Kay and Rory are at the hotel! The way it shoved any of Kay’s progress back, and how Rory was suddenly so clearly out of his depth with what was happening — how he was trying his best to make sure that Kay was alright and Kay being almost completely non-responsive to him.

> Basically any interaction between Kay and Rory. They’re my absolute favourites.

"So, Y/N," Clay grins. "What's the plan for the big 1-8?"

It's lunch time and you're sitting outside under the shade of a tree with Hannah, Clay and Tony. "Tattoo parlour," you say. 

Tony's eyebrows shoot up. "Seriously? I can you get you the hook-up with my artist if you need it," he says.

"No need. Skye's hooking me up with her piercer."

"Nice," Tony says, bobbing his head. "What are you getting done?"

"It's a secret," you reply, waggling your eyebrows.

"Oh god," Clay's face suddenly drains of all amusement. "Is the piercing, you know.. something that only Hannah will be able to see or.."

"Or..?" You laugh, chucking a fry at your friend as Hannah laughs next to you. "It's not that type of surprise, dumbass. I'm not too keen on getting a needle through the nips or bean." 

Clay grimaces and Tony chokes on his drink, and you and Hannah both laugh at his misfortune. "Dammit, Y/N. Don't say shit like that when I'm drinking anything."

"Clay asked," you tell him before glancing back at Clay. "And FYI, if it was that type of piercing, I'd still give you a peek." You wink at him and he grimaces again.

"Oh good. Clay looks like he's about to upchuck. What'd I miss?" Skye says, setting her lunch down on the table and taking a seat.

"Nothing much. I told them I was getting a piercing for my birthday and Clay thought it was either my nipples or clit."

Skye's eyebrows raise in surprise. "I didn't know you were such a pansy, Clay. What's so wrong with those types of piercings?"

He shrugs. "Just seems like piercing something so sensitive would really, really hurt."

This time, Skye shrugs. "It is painful, but the clit piercing is the gift that just keeps on giving."

Tony chuckles at Skye's smirk and Clay's eyes widen in surprise. "What? Does that mean- do you..?"

"Jesus, Clay." Skye rolls her eyes. "No. I just ask around. Piercers are quite honest when you have questions for them, you know?"

"So when are you doing this?" Hannah asks, ignoring Clay's awkwardness as she leans into your side. 

"Tomorrow night." Under the table, the both of you hold hands and tangle your fingers together. "But since it's a surprise, you'll be waiting outside the room with Skye."

Hannah looks towards Skye and your best friend presses her lips into a thin line. "Lucky me."

"Shut up, Miller," Hannah chuckles. "I know you secretly adore me."

Tomorrow night comes far quicker than you imagined, and out of the three of you it's Hannah who's the most nervous.

"Calm down, Baker," Skye muses. "You're not the one being pierced."

"I know," she laughs. "It's just.. I don't know. I'm excited."

"Really? I couldn't tell."

"Shutup, Skye," you laugh. 

You know she doesn't mean anything by her words, it's just her personality and even Hannah knows this too. Which is why Hannah merely shoulder checks Skye as she walks between the both of you, she then grabbing up your hand and swinging it between you as you walk towards the tattoo shop.   

Then at the shop, you watch Skye greet the workers kindly. You're then introduced before a heavily tattooed female happily leads you to the back within minutes.

Very quickly, you find yourself sitting in a raised chair. The piercer moves about gathering all the supplies she's going to need while setting it on a surgical tray next to your chair. And as the piercer sanitizes her hands before pulling on a pair of gloves, she asks, "So is this your first piercing?"

You sheepishly grin as you sit on your hands. "That obvious?"

"A little," she chuckles. "So how do you know our little Skye?"

"From school," you say. "She's, uh, she's the first person I came out to that didn't question my sexuality in return. She just accepted me."

"That's awesome! So the other girl outside with Skye is.."

"My girlfriend," you smile. "Hannah and I have been together going on seven months now."

"Nice."

The piercer then goes on to explain how the piercing process is going to go. She shows you the needle and the simple silver horseshoe ring that's going to be put in place, and explains the aftercare you'll need to be sure to put to use. You can't drink alcohol since it'll impede the healing process and you have to avoid kissing until you're all healed up. You can't swim since it an accumulate bacteria in your mouth, you have to gargle with warm salt water after every meal and you have to be extremely careful when brushing your teeth.

It seems like so much work, but when the piercer smiles at you and you see her own smiley piercing peeking out from behind her top lip.. you suddenly can't wait to get yours done and over with.

You're soon prepped and your head tilted back. Your top lip is pulled out and up, and your piercer works fast once you feel the pain of the needle being shoved through the thin layer of skin beneath your top lip.

"And that should do it," she says after putting in your piece of jewelry. You close your mouth, trying not to smile so you can get used to the odd feeling of something being permanently there now. "Now remember, the healing process should take anywhere from one to three months. The pain will generally last anywhere from three to four weeks. And during the healing period, it's important to wash your mouth out at least twice daily with mouthwash."

"Awesome. Got it."

"Great. Now take some of these aftercare swabs. They're great at preventing infection, too." You beam as you catch a box of swabs she's thrown at you and she winks. "Damn. You were cute before, but you're even more cute with that piercing. I do good work."

She presents you with a mirror so you can see your new jewelry and you smile, only to smile even wider when you see it. "I love it."

"Yeah you do. And so will that girlfriend of yours."

You stay around for a few more tips and then are soon escorted back out to the front. Skye grins at you when she sees you and Hannah's gaze darts all over your face before frowning.

"Did you not get your piercing?" Hannah asks.

You laugh. "Yeah I did."

The piercing must be sticking out because Hannah's eyes widen and she stumbles up to you. Cupping your face in her hands, she turns your head this way and that way and.. "Wow," she gulps. "That is- this looks.."

"Hey! No making out!" Skye reprimands and Hannah pouts. "The piercing has to heal."

You wink at Skye before glancing back at your girlfriend. "You likey?"

"I like. I like very much." Hannah slowly nods, staring at the piercing. 

"I know that look," you murmur. "That's my favorite look, but no kissing. Remember?" 

She sighs. "Godammit." Her lips purse before she turns your head, she then placing a smacking kiss to your cheek. "How long until it heals?"

"Oh, honey," you chuckle. "Don't ask. You won't like the answer."

RFA+S: MC wants an unusual piercing

…I did some shifty research for this.  =P

I added Saeran because it seemed relevant to his interests.

And the type of piercing is different with each RFA member.

Zen:

Bellybutton piercing.

“…why?  You’re perfect just the way you are!”

He’s kind of a square, but he also thinks MC should get everything that she wants.  So.  And a navel piercing sounds kind of cute.

Will come along to support his woman.  Asks MC to show him all the aftercare research she’s done, before they go.

At the piercer’s, is really uncomfortable with the needle.  Can’t watch it actually go in.  Doesn’t like to see MC get hurt.

“If it hurts, I’m right here for you, ok?”

Not scared of the needle; just doesn’t want MC to be in pain.

So long as MC is ok, Zen is ok.

Kind of riveted to the piercing when he actually sees it.  MC notices him staring.

“…don’t put it in your mouth.” “S-sorry…!” and finally looks away, “It…it’s really sexy…”

Yoosung:

“I wanna get my eyebrow pierced.” “WHat?  Why?!  You could go blind!”

Pretty concerned at the risks.  Will take some convincing.  MC will have to insist.

They will both do research about aftercare and safety and where the best piercing place is.

He goes with her, partly to protect her, and partly to make sure the place is legit.  And clean.  He personally inspects everything.

He is MC’s faithful knight; he watches the piercer like a hawk throughout the whole process.

Holds MC’s hand the whole time.

“If it hurts, just squeeze my hand, ok?”

It’s all over kind of anticlimactically.

“Wait…that’s it?”

“…actually, I kind of wanted two…”

“Honey!!”

Now it’s a double-piercing over her left eyebrow.

He’s very industrious about taking care of the piercing as it heals.

He does begrudgingly admit that MC looks cool, once it’s done.  Likes when she puts two rings in.

Jaehee:

“I’m thinking of getting my lip pierced.” “Oh!  …That sounds just like you.  But wouldn’t that mean you can’t have hot drinks?” “Not at first, but after it heals, I should be ok!”

She would be generally supportive.  MC is an intelligent person; surely, she’s done some research.

Would be willing to go to the piercer with MC.  Would make it a date; first a movie, and dinner, with some foods and drinks that MC will have to avoid for a while, and then MC brushes her teeth and they go to the piercer!

Kind of squeamish about seeing the needle going in; would want to look away.

But admires MC’s piercing once it’s done.

“It suits you!”

Jumin:

“Husband, I want to get a nose ring.” *spits out his wine* “LIKE A COW?” “No, like royalty.” *STARES* “Just one.  On my left nostril.  …husband, are you breathing?”

He’s very conservative; he wouldn’t be comfortable with it.

“You’re an heiress, now.  I’m not sure how society will see a woman with a nose piercing.”

MC will have to do a lot of personal research beforehand.  She will basically have to have a whole plan ready for him, before he relents and gives her his blessing.

She makes him come to the parlour.  It isn’t really his scene, but he can see that she’s a little nervous.

Holds her hand while it’s done.  Both of their hands are shaking, a little.

But then it’s in, and Jumin, is all, “…hm…!”

MC looks good.  She really looks good.  A different kind of sophistication.

Has a whole set of nose rings with different stones, metals, and styles made up for her.  So that MC can accessorize with any outfit.

Jumin doesn’t realize it right away, but MC has everything ready in time for a big meeting with a large Indian company.  Seeing the Director’s lovely wife so open to their culture makes them a little more friendly with C&R.

MC’s hot, and she’s made herself an asset to the business.  Two birds.  Jumin is impressed.

Saeyoung:

MC wants multiple ear piercings.  Not just on the lobes; she wants them on the sides and at the tips.

To her delight, Saeyoung is enthusiastic about it.

“THE COSPLAY IDEAS.  THEY FLOW!”

Helps her figure out how many and where they should be placed.

Symmetrical or no?  A bar across two holes, maybe?  How many on top?

Advises against getting them done all at once.  Safer to do one set at a time, then letting her ears heal.

Goes in with her every time.

Might even get a couple of his own.

Makes personalized earrings every now and then.  Made a pair that picked up radio signals and had ear buds so that she could listen to music.

Saeran:

She brings it up one evening, while they’re alone.

“Um…I kinda wanna get my tongue pierced.”

“Really?”

“Um…yeah…”

He sort of brushes it off.  "Oh.  Whatever.“

Doesn’t really mention it again.  Didn’t shoot her down, so MC takes it as a good sign and keeps planning it out.

MC thought he really didn’t care, until she caught him researching on his own.  MC walked into the room quietly, and saw that Saeran was looking up healing times and aftercare for tongue piercings.  He sort of stared her down.  She didn’t say anything; just kept doing her thing.

"I have an appointment set.”

“Whatever.  …put it on the calendar.”

The night before, he’s pretty aggressive in bed.  Pushes her down onto him.  Kisses her a lot.  Puts his fingers into her mouth.  Makes her say his name.

The day of, he goes with her.  MC notices that he keeps kissing her.

“…I can’t do this, for a while…”

“Oh, right…that’s true…”

At the piercer, he scrutinizes everything.  Asks a surprising number of questions about how clean the equipment is or how long the piercer has been doing this.

MC’s a little worried that Saeran’s being too blunt, but the piercer laughs it off.

“He’s really worried about you, huh?”

One last kiss before MC gets into the chair.

Saeran never lets go of MC’s hands.  Watches everything the piercer does closely.

When it’s over, MC’s a little shy when she shows the piercing to him.  Kind of afraid to talk.  Gives him a look, like, “What do you think?”

“…it’s hot…”

MC’s happy.

Saeran’s forehead bumps against hers before the piercer pulls him back, “Hey, no kissing until it heals!”

Saeran glares at the piercer, but moves back.

“Um…apadravya?”

The piercer’s eyebrows fly up, but he nods.

MC is confused.  Gives Saeran a look.

“I’ll tell you later.  Let’s get you some ice.”
