when reader found the hole and was trying to get in but couldn’t because her shoulder? just imagining how painful that must have been is insane. and then moony trying to pull her out? i feel like people don’t realize how horrifying this is!

reader pulling through and squeezing herself into that hole shows how strong she is not just physically but her will too ya know?

but then peter comes along placing his little rat hand on readers paw and i can imagine it and it’s so cute 😭 and then he does a little dance to keep her awake tapping her snout if she does start to fall asleep. i imagine him like one of the little jumping mice from coralline! god i love this version of peter 🥹

AND THEN READER TEYING TO GET TO REMUS?? like even when she’s hurt she’s fighting to see her man’s and the way sirius was being so gentle with her 🥹

also the whole talk about how reader has change and sirius awkwardly trying to explain her “proportions” have changed 💀 i love how they’re still like awkward around each other sometimes like yes they clicked when they saw each other again almost immediately but they still haven’t seen each other in years and things change. sirius realizing that reader changed in this way just reminds him and i think it’s cute

So happy you liked the chase scene, I was really trying to get the action feel vibes, and the tension going on like, yeah the boys are here but she's still in danger, it was so thrilling to write tbh.

Honestly, Peter is a total sweetheart at the moment, I feel so bad that he may or may not have a corruption arc, especially because I really wanted to portray his friendship with the boys, like he was supposed to be their best friend, and that's why his treason is as painful as it was (ugh so tragic).

Dr. Lily is the best, no one can change my mind. Like from the beginning she's shown to care for people, I thought it'd make so much sense for her to be some kind of healer or helper, especially when we're told by Remus that she was always kind and empathic. I really like the contrast between her and the reader, kinda of shows that women come in different shapes, sizes and personalities. Like they both care so much about their friends but in different ways, if that makes sense?

Don't get me wrong, I head cannon her as a brilliant duellist and I think she could have been a Charms teacher or even a fierce auror, but I think she'd be so talented because she trained in med magic and she always managed to keep her partners in one piece. Like especially when you think about the sacrifice she made for Harry, she was a brilliant witch and even if she never actually worked, because she was in the order, I still think she has great potential as a character.

Hazbin Hotel is a show I have gotten really into, and I have been following Fate/Grand Order for the past few years (haven't played it because I wanna spare my wallet and sanity though).

When thinking of them I ended up on the idea of Beni-Enma and her connections with Charlie. Daughters of the King of Hell (Charlie being the daughter of Lucifer and Beni-Enma being adopted by King Enma), Charlie owns the Hazbin Hotel and Beni-Enma has the Enma-tei Inn. So I wanted to try and draw Beni in the Hazbin-style. I mean from its sister show Helluva there were plenty of bird demons to draw reference from (although I pretty much just used Octavia as a base) and I tried to keep a sort of Yamato Nadeshiko Innkepper look. I googled "Japanese Sparrow" to get the facial markings, and the little green bow that ties the Obi together allows for a bow to be put into the design like a lot of Hazbin characters. But it was hard at first to try and simplify her design to fit Hazbin's style at first.

Not too sure what her character would specifically be.

One one hand, she could just be a character based on Beni-enma. A normal Sinner who took on a bird-like form in Hell. I thought giving her an Angelic Steel Katana would be fitting as a way for her to defend herself too.

If this is the Servant, of course you get into a lot of crazy Nasuverse stuff, like why has she taken this form, why is she summoned? The works. She wouldn't need the angelic steel katana as a servant. Anyone tries to shoot her with bullets, she just cuts the bullets faster then they can see.

If she were to join the Hotel obviously she is going to be the new main chef. Nifty is listed as the Hotel's main cook on the wiki but it is never stated in the show proper (she is only described as the housekeeper) and I like when everyone has their specific roles.

I wonder what she'd think of the Hazbin Hell, and Charlie's hotel idea.

Kingdom Hearts is literally my life obsession- though it doesn’t really show much on my blog, lol.

I really enjoy Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires too. Genshin Impact, Harvest Moon/Rune Factory/Stardew Valley… I have several Sims4 games but I haven’t played in a while, lol. I binge for several months and then don’t touch it for years. I recently became obsessed with the Zelda series. I have the early access to Baldur’s Gate 3 and Coral Island.

And I played Obey Me for a while before kind of… stopping because I’m really bad at leveling up cards and I’m only on season three but it’s gotten so hard??? Even though my cards are pretty high level??? And now I’m too scared to open up the app because I know I’ll have over five hundred chat messages to read.

If we wanna talk about CLASSIC Otome games though… hehe…

Hello, Cheritz! Dandelion~ wishes brought to you will always hold a special place in my heart, especially with Jihae and Jieun’s stories because they made me bawl my eyes out. Jihae is my bunny husband. I love him so much. I played all routes to get the Wizard ending. The bunnies had the best stories, though I do… feel bad for Jisoo, mean as he is.

Nameless is another good one by the same company. Momma Tei!!! Who is low key a Yandere!!! In his route. But Lance was my first route in that one. I powered through the other endings to- again- get the Wizard and Doll ending. Nameless is actually hinted to be the prequel to Dandelion.

And, of course? Who can forget Mystic Messenger. I played for Zen and that was it. Same universe, and based on the fact that Zen had prophetic visions, along with the red eyes and silver hair (silver hair being the result of a royal/commoner relationship) and his relationship with his family…

It’s fairly obvious that Zen made a wish for him and his family to live in a world where they wouldn’t be treated like trash for his existence, and had to pay the price with the memories of his family. Their memories of how much they loved him. So now they hate him. It’s super sad. But also Zen got a role where he played Jisoo from Dandelion (and Zen is allergic to cats because he’s originally a bunny boi!).

Ahem. Sorry. Jihae has silver hair and an equally sad backstory so uh. I really like Zen. They’re both adoring sweethearts with bad self esteem.

Riddle would be very surprised. Would also probably have flashbacks to when he had a puppy crush on El and realize Rhythm has the exact same taste in people as he does- seeing as she fell for El’s SON.

But his daughter deserves to be queen. Riddle was once the dorm leader of Heartslabyul. He was once the Queen himself. It’s only fitting.

new music wise kali uchis' new album came out! LOVED that project, kali always does it for me and she really didn't disappoint. kelela's album is something i'm still struggling with even though i was anticipating it for so long. as a body of work it's very boring to me but take the songs individually and i love them: contact and closure and sorbet... i see you.

tei shi came out with an EP in march and i think FAMILIAR will absolutely be in my top songs of the year. how to describe tei shi... she's a little pop, a little indie, a bit of r&b, a perfect amalgamation of so many sounds and god the things i would do to see her live. DIE 4 UR LOVE stays one of my fav projects from 2020.

i did listen to miley's endless summer vacation, too. spotify gave me an award for being in the first 10% of listeners of flowers. scary! other than that most of the music i've been listening to hasn't been new at all, but i have been making use of the niche mixes to broaden my horizons. i finished a book that had me listening to country it was neat

i think when we'd last caught up i was about to go paintballing. that was... february. i went on holiday to tunisia! i've been to bottomless brunches, day raves, birthday parties and nights out in other cities and i haven't even figured out what my summer is looking like. work wise has been good, too, i've had a string of great 1-2-1s with my manager and scored really well in my end of year review

I heard this show dropped the ball and that Nao’s mother got a rant, but otherwise I don’t quite know what happens here…so let’s finish what we started. Update: Nao’s mother’s rant was in a previous episode.

Oh hey! It’s that running thing Nao and Taiyo were doing…I think. (I don’t think I’ve grasped everyone’s names, even over 12 eps, so I had to check Taiyo’s name up.)

Oh, these gremlins…*sighs happily but also exasperatedly* No wonder this show took out a top 10 position for my 2019 list.

I’m worried now…there’s always a last minute thing to ruin an episode on this show.

I always thought Ryoma’s hair was pretty nice…(small LOL). That’s just my bias for bishonen showing though.

Should I move to WordPress?

This is kind of a sudden thing for me to talk about, but it’s something that I started thinking out of the blue this Thursday afternoon and I think I’m so close to make the final decision to actually do it because it’ll benefit me better for my blogging hobby in a better platform with better features, I might completely switch to WordPress for good.

For starters, the WordPress I’m talking about is the freemium version, WordPress.com, there’s no way I could use WordPress.org because I need to make a domain for it, and I don’t have the money to afford one and I think using WordPress.org might still require some coding to tweak some things, which is a hard pass.

I breifly talked about some things about moving to WordPress on my Twitter, but I think it’s best to explain in more detail as to why I want to move to WordPress.

Why should I move to WordPress?

As much as I like the theme I’m using in Tumblr, there’s this big problem with the pictures where it gets compressed so bad that the pictures look incredibly small. Just look how small it is.

And the worst part is if you click to view the picture, the compression really affected the actual resolution.

I’ve been running a test dummy website in WordPress and I chose this theme that I think it looks really cool, it has the style I like, but it still has the same problem with the image resolution when reading posts.

Although I think it looks somewhat better, it doesn’t look incredibly small compared to how Tumblr looks, but what’s better is that the compression doesn’t affect the resolution of the image when you click “View image” on Firefox (Or “Open tab to view image” in Chrome) and at least the placeholder tier shown here is normal, but when I put other images and I click “view image,” there’s this forced WordPress.com thing with menus all over, and no matter what you do, you can’t look at the bare image in your browser. Let’s just hope for the best that it doesn’t affect the resolution when you save those images.

Basically WordPress offers far better formatting options than Tumblr does if you’re using the Rich Text editor, and that’s what I’ve been using for my whole life, I don’t even bother using the HTML editor because I don’t know anything about coding at all. WordPress has this neat text editor where any item you put, some text or an image and they’re all set in blocks and it gives you some options right off the bat, we all know the basic text features like bold, headline, etc, but the headline is a life saver because I can make headlines at different sizes to balance the topics and stuff and that’s something I wouldn’t do in Tumblr’s rich text editor. I can even put images with no problem and the “Featured Image” option in WordPress works really good if your posts have thumbnails, I always tried to emulate this with Tumblr by just adding the picture on top of the text as if it was a thumbnail, it worked fine but I guaranteed it’s not as good of actually setting up your thumbnail as an option.

There’s also the option to add dividers which is something I really need for Tumblr, Tumblr did use to have dividers but for some reason they removed and I’ll just have to add pictures or something.

I did try a different theme on WordPress and the images look far better than this theme I’m using, but the problem with WordPress as well as Tumblr, is that 99% of the themes aren’t even that good, they just focus way too much on galleries and even the blog focused ones are just very cluttered with junk I don’t even need and defeats the purpose of wanting to make a blog site, this WordPress theme, the Rowling theme, is the kind of style that I like, I like my blogs to be like this classic style with the widgets like search, archive and such on the right while I get the posts and stuff on the left. It may not be as cool as the Tumblr one I’m using and the Rowling theme still has some flaws but it’s still going to do fine.

The other theme I tried was the Penscratch 2 theme which gears towards more blogging and it’s the kind of style that I like, although I used to like the theme but now I grew tired of it because I didn’t like how it looked anymore and the color options are extremely limited. The Rowling theme, on the other hand, allows me to customize 3 out of 5 options, I may not change colors in some areas but for the most part it’s far enough for me to use the theme.

Tumblr is a dead site

Another reason why I want to move on to WordPress is for the potential to get better attention unlike Tumblr which is non-existent (I mostly share links of the posts to some Discord servers I occasionally interact with, but I do wish the posts by themselves would get some tractions, I don’t know if it’s the tags but they should get something), mainly because no one on this day and age uses Tumblr anymore because they nuked all of the NSFW content, and that’s probably what caused people to boycott Tumblr for good.

Another problem Tumblr has is being owned by different companies like Yahoo and Verizon which served no good, especially after the porn content purge, but I COMPLETELY forgot that Tumblr was recently acquired by Automattic, the company that owns WordPress. Well, this post has already become quite the irony considering I want to move to WordPress, although I don’t think they’ll do any favors to Tumblr, and as the title of this category implies, Tumblr is dead at this point.

Despite Tumblr being bought by the owner of WordPress, it doesn’t really do anything for me, they’re not even adding some quality of life improvements to redeem Tumblr, hell, they probably won’t even redeem Tumblr, so might as well switch to WordPress which works far better as a blogging platform.

What about the posts I published throughout the years?

I originally thought I should rewrite every single post I made on the website for archival purposes, but I realized there’s a lot of them and it would be a pain in the ass to copy and paste everything, especially my New Year 2021 post which is probably the longest post I’ve ever made in my life (And nobody even read that, all that effort I put gone to waste).

I think it’s for the best to start from scratch, I was planning to launch the site with the HajiKo Anime Winter 2021 post (The Cells at Work Black + Cells at Work season 2 thing is a teaser), but at the same time I should make the first post being about my move to WordPress and I’ll leave a link to my Tumblr if anyone wants to read all my previous posts.

Conclusion

The more I’m trying to build my website with a dummy domain, the more I feel like I’m close to actually make the decision to actually move to WordPress for good, though it won’t take a while until April where I’ll launch the site with my new anime review post, like I mentioned earlier.

Despite the flaws the Rowling theme has and amongst other things, it just takes time and figure out what pages I’m going to make and other things and I’ll have a nicely polished website to completely move on from Tumblr for good.

By the way, I’m mainly going to use the free plan on WordPress, I don’t think I would like to spend money on upgrades for more features, even though I would like to have a good domain, SEO and even make money, I don’t think it’s going to be worth the investment if I want to pay for the plan religiously (I’m already financially struggling with paying for Netflix, Disney+, Arknights month pack, Ogata Tei’s Fantia and Sky-Freedom’s Subscribestar anyways).

For the moment I still have yet to finish my dummy site to get a better picture for how will the website turn out so I’ll eventually publish the real thing, so please wait patiently until that happens.

UPDATE - February 20th: I’m seriously having a hard time trying to make my website look good because every time I’m making a new page from scratch, the way the titles are formatted and everything just looks god awful! Everything is so narrow and it’s nothing like how the Rowling theme’s live demo is supposed to look like!

Wholesome Lyrics

Why is it so hard to find songs, especially in rap, hip-hop, and r&b that don’t oversexualize womxn or refer to them in derogatory terms? Of course, female artists objectify men in their music as well, but the overarching pattern is male artists dominating these genres with those type of degrading lyrics. I have found that over the years I’ve become desensitized to it all and instead have chosen to focus on the sound of certain songs rather than the lyrics themselves. Though this works at times, I’m tired of hearing my sisters be called names that I would get in trouble for writing in this blog.

I started a playlist a couple of years ago called “songs that respect women and I can listen to without cringing.” I thought I’d share some of these wholesome songs that both sound AND feel good.

“Pani, when is your day of birth?” Aury asked as he and Nec play wrestled with Shiro on the training deck. Shiro grabbed the boy around his middle and tickled him while Nec had his arms around his father’s neck, hanging off his back. 

“It’s February 29th. I don’t how to translate that to space calendar time though.” Shiro said, chuckling as Aury screamed with mirth and tried to wiggle out of his father’s tickling hands. 

“Wait, seriously?” Krisox asked from the open door. Sarah looked up from her colouring session with her daughters, frowning; she just knew her brother was going to crack some kind of joke. “Isn’t that the Earth day that only comes around every like five years?”

“Four, actually.” she said, raising her voice so it carried over the children’s laughter. 

“Oh my god, so you’re like, what, six?” 

“Krisox....”

“What? Isn’t that how Earth birthdays go?” 

“Well on non-leap years we’d celebrate on the 28th.” Shiro answered, laying back on the ground as the boys grew tired and rested on their father. “So I’m twenty-five. But if you wanna make that joke, go for it, it wouldn’t be the first time.” 

“God, Sarah, I didn’t know you were into six year olds.” Krisox teased. 

“So help me god I will throw something heavy at you.” she threatened, going back to her colouring. 

“You don’t have anything to throw.” 

“Fucking try me, bitch.” 

“Wait, if Februwary 14th just happened, then that means it’s almost Pani’s birthday, yes?” Tei asked, counting on her fingers. 

“That is true!” Sarah beamed, poking her daughter’s nose with her crayon. 

“We should celebrate! Days of birth are fun!” 

“I don’t wanna make a big deal out of it.” Shiro said from the floor. 

“Really? I thought humans liked celebrating their birthdays.” Krisox said, leaning against the door frame now. “Sarah and Kayla always had parties. Sarah’s were themed, it was really cute.”

“They still are.” Sarah muttered, blushing. 

“Some humans like to, others don’t.” Shiro shrugged, sitting up as the boys wandered over to their mother. 

“And Sarah didn’t force one on you last year?” Krisox asked, smirking now as Sarah glared at him. 

“We had only just started going out, I didn’t wanna force...anything.” she said huffily, passing Aury and Nec crayons and colouring books.

“She did ask Hunk to help her make a cake. It was really good.” Shiro said, smiling at her. 

“I’m surprised she hasn’t tried to set anything up for this year.” Krisox prompted. “A surprise party or something.” 

“I don’t like surprises and would not want to intentionally subject someone else to one.” Sarah said as she returned to colouring. “I asked if Shiro wanted to do anything and he said no.”

“And you’re not going to do anything?”

“I mean I’ll get him a cake or something...” she muttered, glaring at her brother as he laughed triumphantly. 

“I knew it. You won’t avoid birthday parties forever, mate. Not in this family.” he said, laughing as he left. 

Sarah rolled her eyes, returning to her colouring as Shiro pushed himself up and walked over to join them. “Mind if I join?” he asked when he reached them, already getting back down to the floor. Sarah scooched as much as she could on her stomach, being careful not to kick him with her legs in the air behind her. He got himself comfortable, sitting cross legged as V’selle passed him a colouring book and crayons. He leaned over and lovingly kissed the top of Sarah’s head before getting to work, relishing in the relaxing activity with his family. “Honestly, princess,” he murmured close to her ear. “this right here is the best birthday gift I could ever ask for.” He felt warmth spread within him as she looked up at him, smiling and positively glowing with happiness. He cupped her face and kissed her gently, savouring the sweet softness of her lips and the pleasant family moment they were sharing.
