I finished the novel and found it DELIGHTFUL
#i shall be having a movie night this friday. or tmrw. depends#i loved it#idk i think a lot of the talk around the story and the movie is that#people were expecting rwrb to be….idk. more political in nature?#but that’s not really mcquiston’s thing#they write romance#the romance just happens to be queer#and yes. queer romance is inherently political in its existence#and they don’t shy away from that#but they are also not intending to write a manifesto on government and queer liberation#sometimes. one can just. tell a story. and it can be sweet and fun and chresy#and we can save toppling the monarchy for another book.#liz reads#idk if any of this is accurate#maybe I just need to not take in any takes on a new thing ever again.
