You know which image often pops up in my mind when I think about Taennie? It’s the footage of the moment Jennie was almost next to Tae at the Harry Styles concert. His reaction to seeing her was really telling to me. There was no joy in his face at all. Not even a shimmer of it. Not one tiny bit of his face showed love or excitement for seeing her there. Even if we go by the ‘they’re hiding’, still an initial, automatic glimmer of joy should have been in his reaction. It’s automatic behavior when we see someone we love. I cannot reconcile that Tae with the Tae who (according to Teannies and Jkkrs and whatnot) would now dedicate an mv to his relationship with Jennie and fandom’s reaction to that.

I understand why people make his vid about that though, and speaking generally.. maybe they’re onto something (not the taennie of it all though). I think we’ve seen Tae make some statements against societal judgment lately. The smoking dance and pic (not that I love the smoking, but I do love him taking a stand), very obvious and explicit queer representation, and to me.. also this. Because even though Tae and Jennie were not real to me.. he does have plenty of experience with fandom(s) behaving poorly about idols dating. He would have seen negative reactions from fans when their idol is rumored to be dating. He would have heard his label tell him and his members that they cannot date publicly.. and all the hardships that would have meant for them. He would know off cases like Karina’s. And.. he probably very much saw fandom’s reaction to him and Jennie (no matter if that’s real or not). It is something to stand up against in general. He also knows very well that whenever/if he and Jk ever do want to come out backlash will be severe.

So I’m still not fully sure what the mv is entirely about. But I definitely don’t think it’s about Jennie… there’s really not much that would get me to change my mind about them. I think in Tae’s world Jennie is just a mere footnote and he doesn’t really consider her much when it comes to anything he does really. Our perspective is different.. because for us Taennie has been a much bigger thing. For Taennies this is even more extreme.. they are likely to connect anything either of them does to their relationship. I’m of the opinion that Tae’s songs/mv’s are much more talking about general situations than about specific persons.. except maybe when it comes to himself and who he is.

I just think I disagree about it being a silly or a performative stance? From what I understand they were promised 6 million in funding for something and then they didn’t give it to them, so they’re asking for it and claiming that the arts contribute 5 billion pounds to the economy. Obviously there are bigger issues going on, but that doesn’t mean artists can’t complain about this? I just think artists should be allowed to talk about their issues even if there are bigger issues going on?

But no one is saying they’re not allowed to talk about it. Agent P is calling it hypocritical that people who are self professed leftists only give a crap about issues affecting them (and in Jack’s case here not even really that directly). He’s saying Jack’s a champagne socialist which isn’t untrue and applies to most celebs? I’m saying people can express and share Agent P’s view, just as Jack can express his one? Because I believe in free speech and understand what both of them are saying so like?? Ummmmmoh these are all in order btw not like randomized in the groups. I was real purposeful w this one. for starters im a little biased towards ultra cus it was the first album i listened thru all the way cus i found the cd at goodwill in like. ? August ? September maybe and i was like well why not ive been meaning to listen to pesh mode. That and its just a really good album. It took me a couple listens to really get Into it but its definitely my #1 fave now..call that my..ultra fave..lawl..

Funnily enough i didkt really like playing the angel much when i was first getting into dapeachmode (its funny bc that was my first lile formal introduction to them outside of just cant get enoof by joel vinesauce. Everyone say thank you syd and his oc shangri-la) cus i thiught it was too harsh..? Or something? And i really only like 7 (lol) or so of the songs but the ones i do like are Really Fucking Good imo and its admittedly a very powerful album and i like that.

Speak&spell is okay i feel like i was a little harsh w the tier title there especially cus that was their first album and its really not all that bad.. i think i mightve listened to it before anything else too but i might be mixing that up w the one cure album w the fridge picture or whatever it was. It was like. Teal fridge. I think my favorites are probably whats your name & i sometimes wish i was dead but thats pretty basic oooops.. its ok. Also speak&spell has just cant get enough on it which is just a classic even if itsnnot one of my favorites i still like it. And the midi version too.

Finally i dont even know if i listened to spirit fully i know i have scum in my liked songs cus it came on shuffle once probably..and its an alex song to me i usually put character songs i cant fit in playlists in my liked songs..id have to give it a/another listen I thibk i just skipped it cus i was worn out from listening to every other album in a row by that point.
