#i think it’s bcus they didn’t try to make it gritty and serious like. the vibe WAS just the goofy dumb energy of playing with your pals#PLUS i loved how many d&d things they clearly incorporated#like i could identify specific spells and monsters. they didn’t just stick the d&d name on another generic fantasy movie#it felt like actual d&d#dimension doors and gelatinous cubes and black dragons with acid breath#and bards struggling to justify why they’re there lmao#i’ve gone from -100 interest to like. 60 interest.
