my interests always regress so bad during finals so i’ve been reading the rest of the simon snow series after rereading carry on and its kind of just bad (shocker). i’m gonna read the third book though because i really want to know whether they decide racism is good or bad 🤨

#the vampire attitude is crazy…. ‘this whole race is inherently evil and deserves death no matter what’#except for the main character who’s a vampire because (????)#i thought the introduction of lam(b?) was soooo interesting and that they would finally discuss their radical vampire biases but nope #he’s also evil and deserves death #baz learning about vampires and his own body after so long being alone and confused and scared was so touching and resonant….#to turn around and still be like No all vampires should be mass murdered is CRAZY.#why are vampires the one race that they can’t accept has moral nuance 😭#even after lam revealed he was also turned against his will like baz even #anyway. book 2 was so boring and weird. simon is so annoying….. and agatha is sort of just boring. baz penelope and shepherd sweep #also re: agatha like dude she should’ve been written out 😭#her storyline was so real and fascinating in the first book. to say ‘no obviously she can’t leave magic behind how silly of her’#is so reductive…… write her the hell out already 😭#ss #and on top of that there’s the whole party talking about how baz is so embarrassed to just exist and be healthy as a vampire #even in front of his loved ones and like. nobody gives a fuck (?). theyre just like phew good thing we killed all those disgusting vampires #crazy……….#baz is kind of eh in the first book but hes so wonderful in book two……
