...he actually looks a lot better in person, but the lighting in my room sucks this late in the day, so I'm gonna be taking him out for new & better pictures sometime this week. I'll take him, Jarlaxle, and Raistlin out on a little field trip to the park or something.

As you can see, I had him sharing the star blanket with Valas <3

The mushroom print did end up being too big after all, so it's hard to actually tell what he's wearing, but I just wanted to get him done in time to snuggle with me when I start Promise of the Witch-King. Eventually I plan on making a ton more clothes for him.

I also made Raistlin! I actually finished him last week but didn't want to post him until I found my jewelry set so I could make his moon necklace - still haven't found it, but I couldn't resist getting them both in the same picture.

I think I did okay all things considered #he still hates everyone either way especially me for making him cute so mission accomplished #btw Jarlaxle's hat was ALSO a pain in the ass to make because of the way I design my dolls :/#so I'm gonna be working on that design more this one is just the prototype #I couldn't justify making him without it even if it sucked

#so i went to the hairdresser's in september to get a trim after over a year of having NOTHING done to my hair #it was in suuuuuuuuch a poor condition but i loved how long it had gotten so i suffered through the summer #i just wasn't ready to say goodbye to my mermaid hair 🥺#(i should've got it done in the spring but didn't because. well. life i guess lol i wasn't feeling very well maybe)#and so when i finally went to get it done i asked the hairdresser to cut only what was necessary #fair enough i went home only to notice absolutely NOTHING had happened 🙃#i thought i could live with it until maybe later in the winter but i was getting so frustrated with how lifeless and tangled my hair was 😭#so i booked a new appointment at a different hairdresser (a new one has just opened near me)#and aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh my hair looks and feels SO much more healthier now!! 😭 nearly teared up at the hairdresser's feeling my new hair 😂#but at the same time i'm a bit 🥲 because it's quite a bit shorter now 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲#it's not short per se but aaaahhhh I'm having a minor identity crisis lol (no i'm not i'm just being dramatic 💅)#but it's definitely better this way. i love my hair and i'm never ever letting it get in such a terrible condition ever again 🤧#also i'm not going back to that other place again because it wasn't the first time the same person had done barely anything to my hair 🤨#i mean. i guess they just did what i had asked but...#with all the other hairdressers there's never been any problem when i told them to ''only take what's needed''#i guess she was just too cautious to take TOO much of the length of my hair but gurl what's the point if you only take like 1 cm 😐#with ''what's needed'' i obviously mean ''enough so i won't have to come back here next month'' :\#anyway! i'm happy and keep sniffing my hair (and giving myself a headache in the process) because the products they used smell so nice 💖#pointless ramblings hi yess i'm bored by theflyingfeeling

it is once again time for the semi-annual expedition across pinterest in search of a picture that i'm not too self-conscious to take to my hair appointment

over the next two days, i will inevitably come to the conclusion that what i actually want is a different face and hair type entirely

#gotta be realistic about having baby-fine hair and conflicting priorities ya know?#i like how it *feels* better when it's short but i like the way it *looks* when it's a little bit longer #(i say 'longer' but like. it's just barely approaching shoulder length right now and it FEELS like i'm on some nona-level bullshit already)#tbh going really short would probably skip past the weird proportions/angles that i don't like #but we all know i'm absolutely not gonna keep it trimmed up nice. that's too much effort.#plus i actually like how my bangs are at the moment and idk how that would work #also kind of considering doing a bit more ~strawberry blonde~ this time. a lil hint of mercymorn. if you will.#idk!

I'm trying to put white trim on this fucking outfit to make it look more black parade and it's so unbelievably grueling I don't think I can make myself do the top and bottom of each strap. is there an easier way to affix trim like this than just carefully hand stitching bc I'm losing my mind

#im dumb as shit and got a fucking woven trim instead of straight up cord and its almost impossible to treat the ends #im just burning them and then tying them shut with a bit of string #im getting so annoyed tho. i have very little patience lol #it looks so fucking bad up close. kms

A buddy of mine asked me to make him a pair of sheaths for some knives he got at faire this year, and this is the first one! It turned out nice I think, and I matched the style to his leather tunic that's accented with white dragon scales.

#why yes i DID take photos on my washer because it has the best lighting why do you ask?#not perfect by any means #the back got trimmed a little tight so there is a tiny bit of overhang on some rivets #i wasnt perfect with my stamping of the scales #i cut the throat of the leather a little shy of the hilt so the metal peeks a bit #but that isnt a problem because the first half inch ish of the knife isnt sharp #and its a big improvement over the other sheath #no more rattle in a sheath of wood #its now a safe and snug fit #the belt loop which was huge and impractical is now reasonably sized #there was no overhang on the catch so it was hard to undo the snap #now theres a nice finger of leather to grab and pull to undo the catch #and the original catch was up WAY too high on the hilt #so it was very easy to accidentally expose blade on the knife #(the biggest offense because this was actually unsafe)#and the new catch is much closer to the hilt to prevent this #so overall i think the pros outweigh the cons #and i am very happy with the result!#i am excited to make the second one!

#work was awful today (coworker away and catching up after being sick) but i got into the garden for a bit after and feeling better #my apricot tree produced its first proper apricot and it was delicious!#and i put in some peanuts and capsicums into the verge #*vege bed #tried to put in beans but i have lost the seed packet #and then i had exactly one vase to trim (threw it yesterday)#it's a bit taller than most things I've made - I'm getting better #basically: redeemed a terrible day and I'm feeling way better now #LITERALLY i was at work till 7.30pm though

Text Block Dance Party: Tension. Demonstration of how loose I stitch on tapes when planning on backing, using the 1/3 page size w/ 3 folio per signature imposition. It can actually move further but this shows as far as it’ll go at ‘rest’ w/o active pressure being applied. ~440 pages w/ thread changes around the 70 & 250 page marks.
