“...I’m fine.” 

DNA growled dangerously, glowering at the other three turtles in the room. His lips were curled up into a snarl and he was quite visibly annoyed. “I can take care of myself.”

Cyclone quickly interjected, her tail swishing in irritation. “DeeDee, it doesn’t matter if you can ‘take care of yourself’, you’re not in the best physical state and you need to rest. You don’t have to do this. Just lay the fuck back down and let us handle it.”

D growled, his annoyance morphing into frustration. “Let you guys ‘handle’ it?? Last time I did that, it ended catastrophically! I can’t have that happening again. I’ll do it myself, because I’m OKAY and you guys SERIOUSLY need to STOP WORRYING ABOUT ME-”

“But you could die!!” Gal interrupted, his forehead knit in worry. “It’s too dangerous… I swear we’ll be more careful this time! Please, just listen to us and let yourself recover.”

Cy nodded. “Right. It’s not safe for you to handle that sort of hazardous equipment in your current state. You really just need to lay your ass down and let us take care of this.”

“Jesus Christ- GUYS.” 

D groaned, dragging his hands down his face. He was completely over this debate. “PUH-LEASE. Stop making this sound like a life threatening situation. IT’S JUST THE GODDAMN FLU.”

“And flus can be lethal!!” Gal and Cy retorted in unison. “It said so on Wikipedia!!” Gal added unhelpfully, though Cy once again nodded in agreement.

D massaged his temples, exasperated. “I think this stupid flu isn’t as lethal as you dumbasses setting the kitchen on fire.” He said flatly.

“That was only one time…” Cy muttered sourly. “It wasn’t our fault our stove is stronger than the one the recipe used…”

“Besides, you know I can cook decently!” Gal crossed his arms, pouting slightly. “Sure, we nearly burned down the whole place last time you got sick, but like! That was just an accident!! It won’t happen again!”

D let out another groan. He cast a glance at Mari, who was as silent as ever but looked just as done with this conversation as he was. “Yo. Mars.” He called, causing the indigo-clad turtle to perk up slightly. “Do you think I should let these two imbeciles cook dinner again.”

Mari immediately shook their head no, cringing at the memory of the pink and orange turtles’ last attempt at making a meal. Sure, it had gone smoothly for the most part, but the miscalculation of the stove’s strength and an accidental topple of kitchen utensils gave way to catastrophe and destruction. Never again.

D looked pointedly at Cy and Gal, who were both averting their gazes guiltily. “The child has given their input.” D announced, ignoring Mari’s piercing glare at being called a child. “I’m the one who’s cooking tonig- cOUGH COUGH CCKRKJDLSKLSODOKSKADK OUGH GOD-”

“D!!” The three terrapins immediately rushed to D’s side, who started coughing uncontrollably and hacking up mucus. The flu was NOT treating him nicely.

It took a moment for the coughs to die down, but eventually the mutant caspian turtle got ahold of himself. He leaned back on the bedroom wall and sighed, gritting his teeth in visible irritation.

“...While I’m perfectly capable of preparing a meal, I don’t think I wanna get you guys sick.” He finally said after a few minutes. “So I think me taking charge of the cooking is also not optimal.”

Cy sighed. “Alright. Well if you don’t want us to cook and you aren’t gonna cook either, the fuck are we supposed to do??”

Mari raised a hand and the other three turned to face the youngest. They had their phone in their hand and the screen shined bright with a website saying they ordered a meal for four online.

“...Oh.” The older turtles said dumbly. They all got so used to home cooking that ordering food had escaped them as a viable option.

“Crisis averted, I guess??” Gal grinned awkwardly, reaching over to give Mari an affectionate noogie. “Thanks kid.”

Mari only huffed, rolling their eyes and pulling up Subway Surfers on their phone. How they got stuck with absolute idiots, they did not know. But hey!! They were going to eat Chinese takeout soon so everything was okay, they supposed.

I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU’RE DOING MODERN FAMILY REFERENCES WHEN MAKING LOCK FANFICS LIKE THE KIDS WHOLE WALKING IN ON THEIR PARENTS SCENARIObc I love that show so much I used to watch it everyday teehee it’s just always so chaotic so when I saw this (but eren would be claire) if they ever had a daughter and she brought her boyfriend home

KEEP WATCH BC THE LOCK UNIVERSE WILL BE FULL OF MODERN FAMILY REFERENCES 🤩 i feel like that's the only thing making me laugh since i started watching it 😭 oh my gosh, if eren and reader ever have a daughter in the near future, eren would go ballistic every time he hears her talking abt a crush to aran (he's probably the best brother to talk abt crushes and love lives with 😌). caspian would be that brother who provokes eren that their sister might get pregnant if she keeps inviting her boyfriend over and they (her brothers) would have to pretend it's their kid 😭

eren would def be like phil in that one scene where he pours his frustrations out in the elevator bc he doesn't want any of his kids to make bad decisions by dating sketchy people. he just doesn't want his kids to grow up that fast ☹️

god i read the picture of dorian gray by oscar wilde just last year around the start of 2021 after reading young & beautiful and oh my god. he was gods gift to the planet. i haven’t watched the movie though. have you? i’m not sure if it’s an accurate portrayal of the book or not

So, I am a massive Oscar Wilde fan-I legit have Oscar Wilde everything. The Picture of Dorian Gray (don't get me started I will actually write a 10K words essay on why it is a piece of art), is my ultime favourite book. I read it every year again, and I have done so ever since I was like 14/15 which is about 4/5 years now. And Oscar Wilde is the reason I still write. His way with words is simply art 😭

The film is amusing, not really accurate. There are a lot of aspects that they changed (Sybil's death, the yellow book isn't there, no Alan Campbell etc.) which is a shame.

But I must say, I found the 2009 adaptation quite amusing. I love Ben Barnes (PRINCE CASPIAN ♡︎) which is probably the main reason why I enjoyed it. But it is definitely not an accurate adaptatiom of the masterpiece that is Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray.

No, but the fact that I literally have three copies (and counting) of The Picture of Dorian Gray, may or may not say enough about my obsession. I am quite literally Dorian in that sense. A copy ofnmy favouirte book for every mood or occasion, I say cheers to that!🍷

A bit of a rant and some insecurities that I need to get out of my system: Honestly I feel so bad, my fic TMWYB has got a lot of responses like "omg it's like y&b and flightless bird had a baby", and I can see it. But it was in no way my intention. However, my story obviously includes things I am passionate about (aka Oscar Wilde anything, Tchaikovsky, Greek myths etc) but really, because Dorian Gray (and I specifically say Dorian Gray and not Oscar Wilde) is like a theme in Y&B as well it makes me terribly selfconscious of my story. I don't want it to look like I copied any of those two amazing authors. (My Alpha reader really had to suffer through my breakdowns)

I just recently rewatched Wendy Wu and wow Brenda Song is a QUEEN! Ooh and you mentioned The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, which was also on your fandoms list for the secret santa event. I've never seen any of the Chronicles of Narnia movies. That being said, tell me all about them! What are your favourite scenes? - ⛄

Yes, I’m totally a Narnia fan as well! The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe movie actually got me to go read the book series so I definitely have a soft spot for that movie and the Pevensies the most out of all the other books/movies/characters in the series. I also love it that the cast still stay in touch with each other too. Adorable! They recently did kind of like a reunion on an episode of Prop culture on Disney+, too bad the actor for Edmund, Skandar Keynes, couldn’t make it.

As for favorite scenes, definitely the wonder of seeing Narnia for the first time for each of the Pevensies, the scene at the frozen river when Peter stabbed the ice to save himself, Lucy, and Susan, and the final battle scene, especially when the siblings gathered around Edmund after his injury 😭. As for the Prince Caspian movie, my favorite scenes are when Edmund delivered the Peter’s challenge to the Telmarine camp and Peter’s duel with Miraz, especially Peter and Edmund’s conversation. While I like the character growth of Edmund in the PC movie, I will forever be mad at its character assassination of Peter. They did my High King Peter the Magnificent so dirty! He was not an insecure, jealous schoolboy! After watching the PC movie in theaters, I remembered angrily rereading my favorite Peter parts in PC book. Like one of the very first thing book!Peter did after meeting Caspian, was telling the prince that he and the rest of the Pevensies hadn’t come to retake their crowns but to help Caspian to the throne. That’s the whole reason why Peter had to be the one to duel Miraz as well. It had to be someone of high status and it was important to Peter that Caspian stayed alive to be king afterward. Peter was never jealous with Caspian! If they wanted to show a complex character arc for Peter in the movie, they could have explore the nuisance of a lost king, the High King who felt responsible for people, finally returning to his beloved country only to find a 1000 years had past, his beloved kingdom in ruins, and the people he fought and bled alongside with all gone, and he had to push all that aside with grace to help this new princeling. Like the silent suffering and the angst! Yet they went with a jealous and insecure schoolboy whose plan to show up Caspian cost Narnia lives?!? As for the 3rd movie, the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I’ve only saw it once when it was in theaters. I do remember thinking it was decent and enjoying it more than Prince Caspian because of the above reason. I’m sad that they never finished adapting all the books in the series into movies though. Although there’s apparently plans for a Netflix live action reboot so I’m looking forward to seeing how that play out.

7 Comfort Films?

Saw this from @gollyderek and wanted to give it a wack. I guess it's a comfort film list? Anyway, let's roll right on into it!

1. The Court Jester

This movie is a fantastic comedy, musical, adventure, romance. It's actually what led me to my hubby because no one really watches movies from the 50s. 😆

2. Meet the Robinsons

I watched this film for a week straight just to boost my attitude. This is one of the most underrated Disney Pixar films made and it's a shame. The message is incredible and has gotten me through a lot. Keep moving forward! 💜

3. War of the Worlds

I have a soft spot for alien movies. I fell in love with the radio broadcast and had to watch this film. Dakota Fanning is the worst part of the whole thing, but it's worth a watch.

4. Prince Caspian

I watched this movie religiously when it was in theaters. I love it for all it's imperfections and the accent Ben Barnes gave Caspian. Dawn Treader pissed me off because it was gone. 😭

5. Sleeping With the Enemy

I watched this movie when I was fairly young and it never scared me. I was disgusted by the domestic abuse, but so happy with the story. It's a movie about strength and finding new good things when the past is bad.

6. Aladdin

Fuck the new one. The cartoon though is 👌🏻. Aladdin was probably my first cartoon crush. Now I love the movie for more than that. Plus, Robin Williams was an absolute gem I'm it. RIP Robin Williams. 💜 I was going to choose Hercules because it is also great, but Aladdin has a very special place in my heart.

7. Just My Luck

This is the movie that brought me into the world of McFly. Because of it, I have watched this so many times just to listen to their songs (yeah, I do also own the songs). The movie itself is goofy and lackluster, but McFly makes it all better!
