ok omg chapter 29!!! (sending this even tho i just read chapter 30 bc i had this ask written out in my notes already oopsie)

also, in response to ur question, my friends were also functioning on 2 hours of sleep so they kept during off during the batman 🥲🥲🥲 we decided we’ll watch the full thing again another day when we’ve all had more rest! (they liked it but were confused from missing parts while they were half asleep!) but omg i want them to love it so badly i TOTALLY feel u on the ~wanting to act normal~ about it but also pushing it on everyone! 😅 i work with kids and one of them loves batman (has a batman water bottle, mask, etc.) and i literally talk to him about batman (very surface level since he’s a CHILD and just thinks the character is cool but i can’t stop talking about it lol)

now onto chapter 29: alfred crying broke my heart 🥺 also… bruce’s first words he spoke after everything being “where is she?” is so 🥲

BRUCE FINDING IT ENDEARING THAT SHE CALLS IT THE BATMOBILE AND THAT BECOMING ITS NAME 😭😭😭 SO GOOD

alfred being bruce’s father figure is always evident but especially in this chapter and i love that. also,, “It was the middle of the night, and it had already been hours since he had–“ !! motn mention hehe

i love the way you wrote bruce’s reaction when he thought he’d killed her 🥺 it was so intense and well written! and like i said, i absolutely adore the way alfred is attempting to comfort bruce in this chapter. the way he’s treating him like he’s still a kid is so perfect to me bc tbh that’s what adults need too when we’re upset (especially when it’s very traumatic things like that) and i can imagine similar interactions between the two after bruce’s parents death :( i just really love the way bruce and alfred’s relationship dynamic was written in this chapter!

the way that she was stabbed and she’s just wondering how many times bruce has been stabbed 😭 also I LOVE how u incorporated the cane for alfred!! i see u setting up for the sequel 👀 (with this and later in the chapter with the interim mayor, public opinion on batman, etc. hehe)

bruce being so concerned for her while simultaneously not letting her in is just sooo him, you’ve really nailed his character 🥺 and ugh him just saying “I almost killed you” 😭 SHE DOESNT CARE and oh my god the kiss and him leaving right after FUCKK

i love alfred covering his eyes while she takes a sip of the coffee :’)) I LOVE THEIR RELATIONSHIP TOO (i just love alfred tbh) especially in this chapter 🥰

LENA VISIT !!! i’m so glad she’s good 🥲🥰 it’s so sweet (of the other girls too!) that she brought her flowers! one thought i had while reading is i wonder if in the sequel y/n will have already known selina from work or not 👀

ok also this chapter made me think of liability by lorde! it’s such a bruce song. and omg i saw someone said “yours” by conan gray is perfect and THEYRE SOOO RIGHT!! (i’m oversharing again oops but i saw conan in concert back in march and he is incredible live!)

Totally get that with the low sleep thing! Definitely have them watch when they can pay more attention 😂 Also, I get you on the even talking to a child about Batman because you just can't help it. I did this at work the other day too! Except I'm an idiot and I was like "oh have you seen the new one?" to a literal 8 year old and his mom was frantically shaking her head in the background. Sorry my dude, forgot you were a child for a minute there while we were bonding about Batman 😅

Alfred in this chapter (and honestly ch 30) was my favorite. I love love love exploring his dynamic with Bruce. He's not Bruce's father, but goddammit he will be the moment Bruce needs him, and Bruce needed him here. It made me soft.

Also 👀 look at me teasing the sequel already! Go me! I kinda fucked up canon (like Mitchell in the movie was mayor for four terms so....my bad) but! At least it wasn't too fucked 😂

Poor angsty Bruce! He's so relieved she's alive but so fucked up over what happened. I'm so glad you think I nailed his character here 🥺 I rewatched the movie hospital scene when writing this so I could try to get him right!

Also how cool about your grandmother's name! That's a way cooler reason to name this nurse that than the real reason I chose the name--which is that my brother-in-law's dog is named Zora and he posted a picture of her while I was writing😂 

Oof Liability is such a Bruce song!! He's so angsty! I can definitely see why you thought of him. As for Yours, I have listened to that song a million times already 🥵 So good. How cool you saw him in concert!! I miss concerts 😩
