after many years i am finally catching up with PJO and, let me tell you, it’s a trip. Halfway through House of Hades and this part had me dying for some reason. (also, Nico vs Cupid almost broke me but that’s a different thing entirely.) ANYWAYS, yeah, here’s my Speedpaint for the month in the form of a confused Nico.

Earlier: Who is this calling and waking me up before normal business hours?!
Tumblr media
OK, at least whoever-it-was left some sort of message! That will have to wait.
*thankfully go back to sleep for a while, listen to the voicemail with headphones after I am halfway awake*
Turned out it was the GP's office, because of course it was something medical/otherwise official. 🙃 Nobody else but wrong numbers will call that time of the morning.
(For that matter, if I have much choice? You're just not getting my number if I think you will insist on voice calling my half-deaf ass.)
According to the voicemail, they were calling about the eConsult form I submitted yesterday evening. Trying to get around calling them in the first place! 😬
I have repeatedly stressed that I am HOH. Basic accessibility was terrible enough before the Plague Madness, but now that you can't even go talk to reception in in person instead? *hollow laughter*
Come back after lunch, when I think I can MAYBE deal with this shit. Try to call them back several times over the course of about two hours, using headphones and the Relay UK app. (Where people have been really fucking rude before. Including the relay people. 😑) Feeling like I'm on the verge of a heart attack the whole time.
After trying at least 4 times, reception finally answers just when I'm about to hang up again!
What did they want? To put me on hold for 10 minutes, then tell me something simple that they could have much more easily handled in one minute or less through e-mail or text! 🙄
At least it wasn't some kind of horrible news like I was halfway expecting, but jfc.
What I had even contacted them about in the first place? Whether or not the office had received the report from that podiatry/vascular surgery followup appointment over two weeks ago.
Because it should have included the (strongly worded) vascular surgeon's recommendation to start me back immediately on those important meds which some GP I haven't even met yet decided to discontinue. With no explanation or any other communication thus far. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
But yeah, at least they apparently just haven't gotten/reviewed that yet. I was half-afraid that I'd gotten hold of some extra level asshole who had pointedly ignored the specialist. (Like is too big a problem for trans people with hormones here, yeah.)
Anyway, the receptionist said to give it until Friday. 🤔 And that the office would chase it up if the report hadn't arrived by then. The answer on Wednesday afternoon.
Not feeling very confident about ANY of this, but it's not like I have much choice but to just try to get after them again. Unless those prescriptions magically appear in the system over the the next couple of days.
(Did I mention that one of the major reasons there was no way I could even deal with listening to the voicemail when it came in at Early O'Clock, was that I'd had maybe 3 hours of sleep at that point? Because the freaking nerve pain from well-known causes that they abruptly stopped treating had kept me awake? Again. 🙃)
