On the way up to the main hub floor of Gust Planet, those waiting there were simply chilling out, though LM!Sonic wasn't too pleased with the music choice.

LM!Sonic: Remind me again WHY we have this music in the elevator.

EV!Sonic: Hey, don't look at me. Somari suggested it. Honestly, it was a cool suggestion on his part!

LM!Sonic: Urgh, whatever...

EV!Sonic: Sheesh, you really need to liven up, you know. Even Zonic, as serious as he is, isn't as grumpy as you are.

LM!Sonic: I don't have time for "humour", Sonic. Not with the multiverse potentially on the line.

EV!Sonic: Okay, look, LM. Humour is a perfectly alright thing to have, as long as the jokes and quips don't hurt anybody.

Jake (Reclassified Sonic): Yeah, Sonic's right. Man, you're like some kinda dark, edgy Garfield the way you're acting.

This got a chuckle out of NES Sonic, Hefty and OMT!Tails, and LM!Sonic simply glared at Jake for that.

EV!Sonic: Look, the point is, LM, you've been downright moody the whole time since you've been here. First you have high distaste for anyone who's not from a Sonic dimension, you've been shut up in your dorm for so many days, and now you're trying to suggest I DON'T bring OMT Tails to see what the place is like? How much of a killjoy do you have to be?!

LM!Sonic: The kid almost caused multiversal instability back there, and that's why you brought him here?!

EV!Sonic: That glitching was more likely a cause of Crimtake passing through. It was purely coincidental good timing. Urgh, you seriously believe in that tried-and-failed "canon event" theory?

LM!Sonic: What I'm doing here is none of your business. Once I'm finished, I'll be going.

EV!Sonic: Look, if you keep up this attitude, I'm going to have to block you out of accessing this dimension AND the Society full-stop. I'm the leader of this place, not you, so you need to have better respect for the policies we've got here to keep everyone safe.

LM!Sonic didn't say a word, getting off the elevator as EV!Sonic simply facepalmed in frustration. As the current characters got off the elevator and new ones got onboard, EV!Sonic went to check on OMT!Tails.

EV!Sonic: You okay, little bud?

OMT!Tails: I heard what you were talking about with that other Sonic. It's just... Did I do something wrong?

EV!Sonic: Of course you didn't, Tails. If anything, you saved BK Amy a lot of trouble helping her out of a jiffy back there, and I'm proud of you for that!

He sat down with OMT!Tails.

EV!Sonic: Well, still got a bit to go before we reach our floor.

OMT!Tails: This place is really that big?

EV!Sonic: Heh, you'd be surprised. Well, anything you want to discuss on the way up?

OMT!Tails: So, what's the whole "canon event" ideal about?

EV!Sonic: Some debunked theory about what should and shouldn't happen in a bid to supposedly "keep the multiverse stable". It's like trying to keep to a script; too hard to do 100% of the time.

OMT!Tails: Is that why "LM" is so grumpy?

EV!Sonic: Well, he hasn't been the same since what happened in his dimension. Lost memories, being tricked by his Eggman, a death he couldn't prevent... He doesn't like to talk about it at all.

OMT!Tails: And considering the "non-canon", is that where some of those other guys came from around four months ago?

EV!Sonic: Well, some of them did indeed come from alternate timelines, like the alternate counterparts of you, Lilac, Chara and Karilvatch. Their circumstances... are something I really don't like discussing with anyone.

OMT!Tails: So where are they now? The guys we restored and all.

EV!Sonic: Shalian, Talrareth, our Corrupt and Richard are all safe in our dimension, CR-2017's Corrupt and Sonath were neutralised as threats. And all the hurt counterparts are safely at a place known as the OMEGA Universe.

OMT!Tails: OMEGA universe?

EV!Sonic: Kinda like a sanctuary for anyone who needs it, and a popular tourist destination. It's run by a grown-up version of me, like CR, alongside a peculiar version of Frisk.

OMT!Tails: Ah, I see!

EV!Sonic: As for Curse, you'll see where the dude is shortly. Speaking of, we're almost at our stop! You ready, Tails?

OMT!Tails: Born ready!

The two disembarked from the elevator into the main lobby at Sector 11.

OMT!Tails: Wow... This place is huge!

Tekno disembarked off the elevator too, having joined the duo on their last stop, and watched them head onwards before going to see Fleetway Amy.

Tekno: Hey, Amy! Have you or anyone else seen Crimtake around recently? His power's recently overclocked and we need him stopped as soon as we can.

Fleetway Amy: Okay-doke! Let me ask around. Ahem. Hey, guys? Has anyone taken a lookout for Crimtake?

Tekno simply smirked in response.

Tekno: Heh, quite funny. Anyone else got more quips to say before the search begins?

Fleetway Amy: You know, now that you mention it...

Water Sonic: Yeah, bet he can't shapeshift through water like me! Still prefer my hedgehog look, though, heh.

Other Quill Society members nearby joined in with their own puns.

OMT!Tails: Heh, this is unbelievable!

EV!Sonic: Well, kid! This is the main lobby.

OMT!Tails looked out in awe.

OMT!Tails: Woah...

EV!Sonic: Welcome... to the Quill Society!

Curse: Quite a lot to take in, isn't there, Tails? Glad you could make it, heh.

OMT!Tails: Thanks, Curse! You too, Alice!

EX!Alice: Hehe! Don't mention it!

OMT!Mina came in.

EV!Sonic: You all good, Mina?

OMT!Mina: Mhm.

OMT!Tails: This is definitely bigger than a small elite strike team.

OMT!Mina (looking sad): A lot of these members work part-time, though.

D-Sides Mighty arrived.

D-Sides Mighty: So, Mina, how much have you told him about the nature of this place?

OMT!Mina: A little bit.

Tails glitched out a bit behind them, which shocked EV!Sonic a bit.

EV!Sonic: Oh! Here you go, Tails.

EV!Sonic passed OMT!Tails a fancy watch to wear.

OMT!Tails: Woah! My own extra watch?!

EV!Sonic: It's your very own day pass! We haven't fully nailed down how to stop that glitching in this universe, even with your own watch, so it'll keep you from glitching while you're here.

He put it on, his glitches disappearing proper thanks to this.

OMT!Tails: So what about the Chao Alice has with her?

EV!Sonic: Ah, we have our own dedicated Chao Garden where we raise Chaos for therapeutic roles or simply as companions for members. Since Shadows tend to get it THE most rough, they get them free-of-charge.

OMT!Tails: Heh, that's very sweet.

Into the hallway into Sector 12, and they watched different Sonics go by.

OMT!Mina: Hey, Sonics!

Modern Pocket Adventure Sonic: Hey hey hey! BBLIR Sonic: How's it going, Mina? SMB3 Sonic: Way past cool! SMS1 Sonic: Hey, Mina!

One based on Super Mario World made a brief stop.

SMW Sonic: Hey, Mina! This a new recruit?

OMT!Mina: Heh, possibly.

OMT!Tails: (She knows everybody here?)

A Cream and a Cosmo saw OMT!Tails with curiosity.

SCD!Cream: Another Mr. Tails? He's got blue shoes!

Cosmo: Heh, yeah! Those look great on him!

At Sector 12, an outdoor space akin to Metallic Madness's construction stages, EV!Sonic walked up to Carol.

EV!Sonic: Hey, Carol?

Carol: Carol the Wildcat, at your service! What do ya need?

EV!Sonic: Well, I need you to escort the Mix-Match group over to Sector 18's docking station. LEGO me will meet them there, where they'll be able to start cleaning up the messes Crimtake left behind. Free sushi on the house in the café if you do a good job today!

Carol: Okey-dokey! Alright, crew! Next stop; Sector 18!

Rob O': Thou services art much appreciated, fair maiden! Onward!

Rob O', the Ray and Espio at the scene, and Johnny Lightfoot headed off with Carol for their mission.

OMT!Tails: (It's awesome how Carol's here, too!)

Over at Sector 21, outside the café, Tekno approached Turbo, who was leaning against the wall.

Tekno: Hey, Turbo? I need-.

Turbo: Sorry, can't talk right now. Too busy reminiscing on how my newest quest will play out...!

Tekno: Er, actually, I kinda needed you for something.

Turbo: (angry gibberish, before calming down) Okay, maybe that wasn't the best approach.

OMT!Tails: Is he okay?

OVA!Knuckles and a version of Julie-Su arrived on that one horse from the Archie comics, the former hopping down first.

OVA!Knuckles: Hey, kid. Wanna see how good your reflexes are?

OMT!Tails: Oh? Sure!

OVA!Knuckles: Alright, then! On three, draw!

OMT!Tails, not hailing from the cowboy genre, harmlessly hit him.

OVA!Knuckles: Woah there! You didn't wait 'til three. That's the whole aim of this stuff.

OMT!Tails: Sorry, hehe. I'll get better at it next time. So, uh, what's your horse about?

Julie-Su: Me and Knuckles here share responsibilities of looking after her while we're here. The crazy layouts definitely make it fun to traverse!

OVA!Knuckles: Well, I'd love to stay and chat more, but we gotta dash. We'll duel again next time, Tails!

OMT!Tails: You bet!

The two climbed back aboard their steed.

OVA!Knuckles: Alright, giddy up, girl!

They headed off.

OMT!Tails: By the way, who's the bird next to you, Lilac?

Hedgehog Lilac: Oh, he's Red, from Dimension ROV-2009. The Society's leader brought him on since SEGA brought out the company that designed his universe.

OMT!Tails: Ah, I see! Well, have a good day, Red!

Next on the tour was Sector 15, the site where multiversal villains were being held in different cells.

OMT!Tails: Who are all the guys in the cages?

Tekno: Those are the villains we've had to round up who've slipped into the wrong worlds by accident. We keep them here for a bit before sending them back home.

EV!Sonic: Yeah. Holding these guys long-term is not an option. I know canon events are outlawed in the Quill Society, but we just gotta be careful with them, since they definitively can't go out of their worlds for too long before glitching.

A pod hovered over with Sark sealed inside.

Sark: Let me the hell out of this cage!

OMT!Tails: One of those Sonic.EXEs, huh? What's he in for?

EV!Sonic: Well, since you're still young, and I really don't want to ruin that innocence for you, I'll say he's in for unspeakable crimes that are truly unspeakable.

Tekno: We usually keep these guys deeper in the facility away from the other captives, but in Sark's case, he's getting the Ret-Gone treatment. He's too mentally out of his mind to go back to his world.

EV!Sonic: Yeah. Hey, Somari?

Somari walked up next to them.

Somari: You-a called, pal?

EV!Sonic: Get this guy's pod over to Sector 0 for erasure.

Somari: Alright-a, my friend. Okay, little child-a lover, you're-a coming with-a me!

Somari escorted that cage away, whilst OMT!Tails wanted to see more around this prison area. However, OMT!Mina seemed suspiciously eager to move on.

OMT!Mina: They're not all that interesting.

Tekno: "Not all that interesting"? Of course they can get interesting. Look. Over there with Sunky is Sir Fuzzy-Logik and one of the small video game Robotniks...

GG Spinball Robotnik: (angry beeps) Sunky: -_-

Tekno: Over on that end are Dr. Qwark, Witchcart, erm, Type-egg, who's simply ASCII text meshed into a man...

Type-egg (in a TTS voice like Microsoft Sam): Go to Helvetica, Tails!

OMT!Tails: Bold.

Tekno: Then over this way are an Eggrobo, Agent Stone, a Heavy Magician, an Emerl-.

OMT!Tails (shocked): An Emerl?!

EV!Sonic: Oh, er... Not your Emerl, we mean.

OMT!Tails approached one of the cells Pana and SS!Amy were guarding, with a Chaos-coloured Emerl suit on top and Speedy (or Battle Kakku XVI) inside.

Speedy: Hey. ... It's rude to stare, kid.

OMT!Tails: So, er, what's with Speedy and that altered Emerl suit?

Pana: Birdbrain was causing some chaos in one of the dimensions. Took me and mini Amy here to apprehend him and bring him here.

SS!Amy: Sure I bonked him the best, Pana.

Speedy: You two idiots kidding?! During my escape, I tripped! You heroes just got off lucky.

OMT!Tails: So how many missions have you guys been on together?

SS!Amy: Well, not too many.

Pana: With Mina? A... couple dozen?

OMT!Tails: Wait, what? (a little jealous) Ah, that's cool.

As he headed to the next spot, he bumped into Nicole.

OMT!Tails: Oh! Sorry!

The two's super-senses were resonating, with some kind of vibe between them.

OMT!Tails: I'm Tails!

Nicole: Woah, no way! Heh, there's lots of yous here too.

OMT!Mina: Can we please just keep moving?

But OMT!Tails had already followed Nicole into...

Sector 30, the site of the Transport Hub, where Nicole quickly blipped to the other side of the room while GCD!Amy was maintaining the machinery there.

OMT!Tails: Woah... What are you?

Nicole: I'm a digital avatar! My real body is back in my home dimension chilling in a gaming chair and eating fruit salad. You know, I think I like it here better.

OMT!Tails could hear arguing parents through her digital body.

OMT!Tails: I hear that. What's this big spot behind me?

Nicole: Besides having a cool name? It's the Transport Hub!

OMT!Mina: At one point, I voted against it.

A Spider-Man version of Sonic showed up, quickly webbing up the Metal Sonic from Dimension OVA-1996 that somehow managed to slip in.

GCD!Amy: It allows you safe travel between dimensions, even without a way to summon portals!

OMT!Tails: Awesome!

GCD!Amy: Sure is! Got started engineering it after my scuffle with GlassCD back in my dimension. (to OVA!Metal) Now, goodbye, tin-can! Don't come back!

OVA!Metal was warped back to his dimension.

OMT!Mina: We should get going, Tails.

OMT!Tails: Okay. Uh, see you around?

Nicole: Good luck out there, Tails!

OMT!Mina started dragging OMT!Tails out of the room, who had a cute face in reaction to that. Jealousy from Mina, much?

OMT!Tails: Okay, bye!

Nicole and GCD!Amy watched him go. Elsewhere, LM!Sonic was watching everything going on from the confines of a green and black data room.

E-21: You know, it sounds like LM!Sonic might be hungry at the moment. Amy Rouge: I heard he likes the Tex Mexan sandwiches from the café. Can't figure out why, though. OMT!Tails: Maybe that could cheer him up! Man, there's loads of food on the menu! How many places have SEGA collaborated with? Amy Rouge: All sorts! Now, to go, there's also meals like the Tails' 2x2x2, Dr. Eggman's Benedict, and even Sonic's Blue Blur Special! OMT!Tails: Man! You guys have everything!

LM!Sonic: My name is Sonic. I may not be the only blue blur in this joint, but I'm not like the others.

LM!Sonic: I don't always like what I'm aiming to do, but I know I have to be the one to do it. I've given up FAR too much to stop now.

(Small fun fact; LM!Sonic is @mcgamejolter's least favourite character in IAB!, since his behaviour in this AU makes him come off as a massive edgelord. In his words: "Everything about LM is just making me scream "UGH THE EDGE" all over :')")

In the café, Pana came to talk to OMT!Tails after he bought the Tex Mexan sandwich he was looking for.

Pana: Why do you wanna be in a huge community like this so badly?

OMT!Tails: To see people that are quite like me and can relate!

Pana: You know, I bet you got a nice set-up back at home. Nice family of sorts you have?

OMT!Tails: Absolutely.

Pana: Now, listen, Tails. Whole point of being the hero of your world is being capable of making your own choices. Being your own boss. Plus, you're a smart kid. I noticed you built your own interdimensional watch.

OMT!Tails: But if you're not a team-player all the time, why do you come here anyway?

Pana: Well, I'm just lookin' out for my songoose sis, is all. Just remember, only enlist once you know all the insides and outs of a job like this. You don't have to feel pressured to be a part of it now.

OMT!Tails: Yeah, I understand. I mean, it is a day out, and I do have Crimtake to stop as soon as we can track him down. I'll do everyone here proud!

Pana: That's the spirit, little Prower! Now, I think we need to have a word with LM in his dorm and uncover just what he's doing to distract you from the truth he's hiding about himself.

OMT!Tails: What "truth"?

Pana: Well, I ain't got a Scooby-Doo* what's outright going on, as he's wanting to leave people out of the loop.

So, any theories on what Sasha's parents are like? Like I doubt they were perfect considering Sasha's behavior (remember when she outright stated in True Colors that she was okay never going back home and having zero problem with smashing the box, plus the fact she never shows signs of missing them even after her redemption in season 3). And considering how other redemptions are with their flawed relationship with family like Pacifica on Gravity Falls, Amity and Hunter on Owl House, Andrea on Ghost & Molly McGee, Zuko on Avatar the Last Airbender, Eddy on Ed Edd n Eddy, Catra on She Ra 2018, Lena on DuckTales 2017, Ludo on Star vs the Forces of Evil, and Helga on Hey Arnold, it's hard to believe Sasha had the best relationship with her parents. Granted Sunset Shimmer from the MLP FiM spin off Equestria Girls is a redemption character who also never had her family brought up or ever had an onscreen reason for why she was an evil and mean bully in the first movie (aside from probably just being an arrogant power hungry spoiled brat) so maybe Sasha's kinda like her in a sense too.

So this is a question I actually LOVE. There's a LOT you can glean off of a parent by their kid in general, let alone with any references to them. However... Them being redeemed doesn't always say anything about their relationship. Hell, for Amity since you listed her and I can comment, the speed of her redemption versus how much of a mustache twirling villain Odalia is ACTIVELY CONTRADICT EACH OTHER. It's REALLY bad.

Sasha's redemption says literally fuck all about her parents. Mostly because they don't mean anything to Sasha. Very little means anything to Sasha besides herself and her two best friends. Arguably not even Marcy.

The rest of her context to being willing to see the box destroyed and not return is critical here because she does actually explain herself. "Why rule a school when I can rule a world?" Her priority is self aggrandizing. It's not about freedom and it's not about safety. In fact, Sasha has cared very little for other's freedoms or her own safety. What matters is that Sasha is winning. Even Battle of the Bands made it clear that she is used to doing whatever it takes to be on top and getting her way.

Which to me doesn't mean abusive parents like you want to imply just through saying a lot of other shows did the trope of blaming abusive parents for bad behavior... It just means parents who thought the best way to make their daughter happy was to never tell her no. They let her live a life that had no consequences and where she didn't have to worry because if she skipped school or needed fifty bucks for gal pal time, they'd give it to her. This fits a lot more with Sasha's arc too because her arc has nothing to do with rebelling against her parents. She CHOSE to be a bad person. To not care about others. It's only by realizing that what she does hurt people with her actions and deciding they matter that she becomes a better person.

And to me, that's MUCH more compelling than trying to scapegoat what someone does onto their parent. It's not like everyone is evil just because their parents are shit. It devalues their choices as a character and is honestly a trope I'd like to see LESS. Or, bare minimum, not have standing up to their parent be like flipping a switch and making them automatically a good person because those scars last and their parents couldn't have made them do EVERY bad thing they did. Just look at Amity who decided "I'm going to make my ex-friend's life hell for YEARS despite only having to tell her we're not friends anymore to make my parents happy." That's not her parent's fault, that's her decision to be a monster.

At some point, the blame is on you for what you do. Narratively, for me, that's also more compelling and satisfying because it means you are the only one to blame for your gains too. People always have the choice to do good. It's their decision if it's too much work or relies on caring about others too much.

That to me is what makes Sasha so compelling and why anyone who wanted to see her parents I think are just asking for a categorically weaker story.

Not only is APHO bad for KiaMei it's a garbage ending for the entire story, which is far, far more important.

Let's just get right into the thick of it with the most important detail. When talking about Carole Mei says to Adam,

"I used to know somebody just like her",

Mei gazes sadly at the Moon,

there is a blue light on the Honkai-consumed red Moon. (note: we are told this one time and it never is visible so this one is kinda bad)

The point is Kiana is either dead, or people theorize sealed all the Honkai on the Moon with herself. Or rather 95% of the Honkai so she didn’t really save the whole world entirely. Especially with the way Mei and Theresa talk like we don't know who and what they are talking about. For all intents and purposes, Kiana is gone, implied to have sacrificed herself. Let's take a look back at Kiana's ENTIRE character arc. OH YEAH, unlearning her suicidal self-sacrificial tendencies, to the point where she won't let Hua heroically sacrifice herself. Kiana's whole speech at the end of Everlasting Flames. Finding their path back home? You get my point by now. It entirely negates Kiana's character development.

Some people tell me that it's supposed to be punishment for Mei joining World Serpent. Let me get this straight. Mei's karmic punishment for her own choices was for somebody else to fuckin die/ never see her loved ones ever again? What kinda bullshit is that? And let's say that APHO ends with Kiana unsealed from the Moon, what reason was there to wait 8 years for a "happy" ending?

APHO is a time-skip, 8 years to be exact. That puts 3 years left in the main story which doesn't add up because it's 2017 in main story and Herrschers are appearing at an accelerated rate and it’s 2028 in APHO but shhhhh. After a timeskip you don't really know the characters anymore, that's not a bug it's a feature. It's a chance to get to know them again. So how come the only thing we learn about Mei is "girlfriend gone, big sad for 8 years". Bronya was out there following her dreams, left the fighting behind her, and she's the only character in APHO that seems to have done ANYTHING different. Welt adopts a kid and makes more anime than he was before. Why be time-skip at all? To sell big boob version of the main characters.

Honestly all of this wouldn't bother me if they wouldn't be so flip-floppy about if it's canon or not. As a bubble universe/alt universe scenario I actually thought APHO was great until they started doing that. It wasn't, then it definitely was, then it wasn't, eventually they settled on it being part of the same worldline which is word nobody understands. If it is canon then they are basically spoiling the ending to their own game for what reason? To get to Honkai Star Rail already? "Quit playing the old game and play our new one"! BUT Honkai Star Rail IS a sequel to APHO because the Star Rail Trailer “Reburn 2″ has Carole, Welt, and a fucked up Moon in it. Usually you make a sequel to the main story? Although they didn't do that with GGZ and Honkai Impact.

If we could just be CERTAIN that it was canon or not I could know to give up caring on Honkai Impact cause the character development won't matter in the end.

So, there's been something I've wondered about for a couple years now, and even more so since stalking your blog pretty heavily for the last few weeks and reading lots of old posts.

Something obviously shifted in Jensen's view of Destiel a few years back, it was a wildly noticable change. You said during 15x18 filming, which I am totally clear on, and also something earlier having to do with TAW (and maybe Mark P?)? I don't know much about that, not sure I want to.

But the point is, now that Jensen gets it, do you think he regrets any of his previous brushing off/gruffness/annoyance at the DeanCas stuff?

it's a bit of a mix. first, he had a terrible introduction to ships in this fandom. He was a young actor, everywhere he went, there was wincest. Wincels reframe it now, but on their own boards back in the day, they knew he didn't like it. The so proud "My favorite is wincest" they trained the new kids to cut off his expression and "because it's. SO weird." and on their forums they ratted and begged each other to never mention it to Jensen again back then. Because not just that. Wincest was used for pranks. They superglued it to phones to torment cast members. They basically rickrolled each other with wincest porn. It was literally an eternal mockery of them that made the old season "that's just sick" honestly seem gentle. But they've. Buried this.

So you gotta understand the first MINIMUM 3 years that's all jensen knew. Then Misha came in and kept getting extended and kinda got ball and cup plot shuffled with Anna at some point, so like. Anything that popped up back then. Sure, Sgriccia was like, wow, that's gay. But. Again. What's the mood about ships on set right now.

It took several years for them to realize there was even like. An actual ship. Because realistically like. they don't... see wincest as a ship. They saw it as a gross joke, like dropping flaming doggie doo on someone's door. So there's that.

Then add in like. The Chad Kennedy shit. The s10 press packet drop. The S11 mass salty author exodus, etc.

So we look at 2017--for the record, Doesn't Exist was before he got the 12.19 script. Just fyi. Or. You know. [gestures at all the following seasons]

all that man knew before then was WB was like hell no. He hadn't yet been handed Bobo's first step on the highway to gay mega hell

But yes, the shift mostly came arounnnnnnnd. Well. Hm.

He was lightly jolly about it but mostly in a comedic way that still didn't sit well with many. Some time around Wayward, A Little Birdie sent some names to some people with some power to put it on some lists watched by some security company that condensed the reports and gave nice readouts to the ackles on who seemed like a threat to their family.

And they saw a lot of bitching about Destiel.

You ever hear of spite shipping? Yeah. They done that to themselves. From like. IDK. jan or feb 2018 give or take, climbing upwards, there was a lot more banter, a lot more jokes that didn't have negative possible reads, a lot of chuckles. And then he'd go backstage, check his phone, and enjoy the assholes that hate his wife and friend shitting their pants that he DARED to support Destiel. Lather Rinse. Repeat.

It was 15.18 that actually torpedoed him.

In honnor of the 20th anneversary of Evanescene's album and it now being back on store shelves, have some thoughts I have on it!

I used to listen to it, back in the day lol. When it came out. I can remember vividly my mom singing it in the car. It was one of the few things that we were allowed to listen to that wasn't 'traditional' christian music.

At the time I didn't even know what any of those words meant. I was 5 afterall lol. But growing up, my view on faith was a weird one. I thought it was a cool concept but, to me, it felt like an interesting book that I wanted to write my own twist ending for. I played pretend like *i* was the one coming back from the dead and stuff. (Yk normal kid things)

And now, looking back 20 years later, despite this album and artist being a 'christian' band, their music still holds up. To me at least, it's probably because they kept the more epic side of things. Being a literal broken person and needing help. Yk all the immagry from the song Tournequte. It still is so cool to me because, even tho I firmly don't follow any religions, the message is still interesting to me and I can honestly interpret it any way I wish. Kinda like having a friend who's christian and they get comfort from that, and me being like, that's good I'm really glad you have this thing that comforts you. yk?

I love the mesh of genres too. I'm bad with names and this is jsut a ramble so I'm doing no research to make this post. But I love how it's a good mix of grunge, early early emo, and christian rock. Like the songs Fuck and they have that signiture flare lots of rock ajacent genres had around the time it came out. The cool beeping at the end of Going Under, I think. And ofc the infamous Wake me up duet thing. I read somewhere they were pressured into that by their label, having a guy do a 'rap'. But it was very iconic and to this day is one song by them that I guarantee everyone probably knows. Or at least can recongnize. I also love how you can have heavier songs like Bring me to life and then the super soft ones like My Imortal. Which, the latter always brings me to tears bc it's so fucking beautiful and haunting and Defined my fucking emo phase.

Also, also fuck if I don't talk about the vocals I will die. I grew up listening to this album and her others. I know the words by heart. I knew them today in the car listening to this cd even tho I havn't played any of these songs since highschool (2013-2017 era). They stuck with me. I taught myself to sing by parroting these songs. And I don't think anyone would disagree with me about how fucking *amazing* of a singer Amy Lee is. She is incredible and honestly I respect her so much. She went out and wrote these songs about loving yourself and finding yourself and fuck what everyone else thinks. It's like, yeah theres the undrlining of god saving you but she also doesn't sound like the majority of the christians nowdays yk? She's not condeming anyone else. She's simply saying that she found comfort and herself through That and that's what saved her. And honestly I respect that so much.

TLDR: Despite being 'christian rock' this album and band are So good and honestly people who call it cringe clearly did not listen to the same album lol

Not really, but I have nice mutuals that I love very much. <3 Though it's difficult for me to consider someone a friend unless we know each other more closely, and given that I have some opinions that I think the majority of simblr would dislike (spoiler: nothing hateful, criminal or extreme, just some skepticism on my end, but many people get fired up super easily especially on tumblr and it's difficult to have a healthy discussion or agree to disagree), I'm not sure I can truly make friends here. I mean time will tell, but I'm reserved about the idea that it could happen. Maybe I'm too much on my guard, but I'll just see what happens.

So I had a bunch of Japanese sims back in 2017/18, then Indian, then I stopped playing, now some Kazakhs, a few Russians and one Mongolian, and I'll see how this goes, but I feel like making more Americans especially given that I play Strangerville. Even if America in itself isn't much my cup of tea. I didn't use reshades until I created my simblr because I was afraid it was going to crash my laptop, but turns out nope, it doesn't. Especially since I can toggle it on and off, which I didn't know was possible. I did use skinblends back in the day, but I had kind of a different aesthetic than now. Now, I prefer simple things that are way more Maxis Match and fit perfectly into the game's aesthetic. I consider it's not made that way for nothing.

Bit of a vent under the cut, don't mind me. It's one of Those nights and I need to get it out somewhere.

Sometimes I worry that I joined the DR fandom too late.

Like, yes, I get that V3 came out in 2017. I get that Summer Camp came out in 2021. I got into the franchise for real in 2022. Summer 2022, to be exact. You can probably find the exact day in this blog's timeline.

I joined the fandom at the time some of my now-mutuals were cranking out so many DR fics like the crazy people (/affectionate) they are, near-daily. Some of them still do write for the franchise, and I genuinely don't blame anyone for moving on.

I just... well I kinda envy what they have, what they had then. Maybe AO3 readers don't interact like they used to. I hope (ha) for comments and kudos more than anything because it shows that people like what I do.

Honestly, I wish I could do what others do and say that they write for themselves and themselves alone; posting is a bonus. I can't. Call it leftover from childhood that I'm a people-pleaser and strive for validation. It's given me fucking anxiety and depression, not living up to what I think are other people's expectations--aka what turns out to be my own.

So I end up posting here on Tumblr like I have way more followers than I do. Real talk? I have 19 followers. 8 of them beloved mutuals, all of them beloved altogether. It does still give me what I would call the exact opposite of Imposter Syndrome. Instead of feeling like I don't deserve to be where I am, I feel like I'm not good enough to be like the people I admire. I understand that I haven't been posting fics for quite as long, but with Getaway's one-year anniversary steadily approaching, it weighs on me.

And it bleeds into my personal life, too. (Or it's just there on its own, whichever.) I've never had a partner, and I've been told that it doesn't define me. I get it. I do. But as the kid who others would ask out / confess to as a joke, it never left the joke stage. The one person I had major feelings for told me directly that he'd only ever had feelings for his now-fiancee (one of my best friends) and never considered dating anyone else. It makes me doubt that I'm ever going to have that.

Anyway, something something don't be like me. Cool? Cool.

Hmmm, that first question is an interesting one, because despite seeing the term often I've never been like, super clear on the meaning?

But after googling it, I get variations of "a character who thinking of brings you comfort during particularly stressful times, almost like a mental security blanket."

And I guess like, there are a few possible answers to that, but nothing that feels like it entirely fits? Because I have noticed that when I feel particularly stressed, I do tend to backslide into hyperfocus on older nostalgic stuff I got into when I was like, a kid, prolly at least partially to cope, but which thing exactly isn't really consistent.

I guess the Bionicle main cast is kind of an easy one since that was My Thing for basically the entire span of my child and preteen years? But that doesn't really narrow it down, since I still fixate on different arcs with different central characters. But then sometimes I instead fall back into MLP from my teen years - never quite enough to actually revisit the show, but more immersing myself back in old fandom music and early fanfics to get the feeling of being in that time period back. So like, I guess rather than any specific character, it's that nostalgia itself that's like a comfort to me?

On the other hand, I've also found with more recent crisises I've been through, my thoughts instead go to either Reimu of Touhou or Samus of Metroid, even though I only got into both of those relatively recently, back in 2017. So like, they don't really fit the nostalgia vibe as well, but they are individual characters who sorta fit the bill; Samus in particular given her quiet unyieldingness and being ever-so-slightly overpowered even in the literally horrific universe she resides.

I'm still not sure they'd entirely qualify, since I haven't really had the opportunity and awareness at the same time to look out for this, and I feel like there's an obvious-in-hindsight third option that's staring me in the face but eluding me and I'll kick myself later for somehow forgetting later, but that's what comes to mind for now at least ^^;

EDIT: Yep, I was right about the obvious third option. The Spring Sprite from Fantasia 2000, who both heavily influenced my aesthetic, and was prolly my first fictional character crush. While again, application in a stressful situation is hard to say, she does definitely give me that sorta comforting mental security blanket vibe much more than even the other stuff I listed.

With spicy foods, I love them, but have the tragic White Person affliction of not handling them well, so I've been wanting to ease into spicier stuff and build up an immunity. Unfortunately the opportunity to do such, with my food budget and spoons for cooking so low the past while, has been more limited, but I'll get there eventually.

Favorite holiday film, hmm. That is admittedly a field where I generally avoid treading, since the three main subgenres seem to be Toddler Feature, Christian(tm) Film(tm), or Raunchy Santa, none of which appeal to me, but I'm sure there's something.

Honestly, this may seem like kind of a weird pick, (and again I feel like I may be forgetting a more fitting option that's floating on the edges of my consciousness right now) but at least for now I'd have to say Unaccompanied Minors (2006). I don't remember it super well, but I can say at least that it quite resonated with me as someone who frequented airports as a kid to visit different parts of my family.

Plus, it had that kinda excellent blend of being just subversive enough to appeal to that too-cool-for-this (for however much I could ever consider myself or even really desire to be 'cool') tween phase I was in, and still ultimately just sincere and silly enough to feel meaningful. I have no clue how well it holds up or not now, but it sure was at least something then.

Basically I was just incredibly lucky to see Ghost for the very first time when they were touring with Iron Maiden. It was July 2017 and I didn't know the behind the mask names. I barely knew the stage names. And I knew I loved the band.

We've all heard of my encounter with Papa III so I'm skipping it.

Close to the end of Iron Maiden's set my brother and I went out to where I had pointed out a couple of buses parked behind the venue when we'd arrived. My brother was insistent that the band was either already on the buses or would not sign things even if there was only ten of us outside waiting.

Billy Vanilla showed up and was super cordial with all of us and regaled us with stories about the tour and about Tobias ("Henry Rollins-level smart") and implicated himself as a possible vampire (I just think blurting out "I'm over four hundred years old" is a big sign of vampirism). Billy also went onto one of the buses and came back with a handful of spare picks; my brother didn't care to get one so I got two :3

Ifrit was the first guy who came out, at the time I had no idea who he was but he happily signed everyone's "spirit board" (VIP merch on that tour included the Ghost branded legally distinct from Ouija spirit boards).

I forget how much time passed but it was certainly after midnight and my brother was threatening to leave me there while he went back to the hotel (he didn't lol). Then I looked to the right and up the sidewalk came a group of maybe half a dozen people, led by a man in a white Misfits shirt and the skinniest skinny jeans I had ever seen. He looked up from talking to a kid with an iPad (one of his kids? I remember the kid had long blond hair) and it felt like he looked right at me. I started punching my brother's arm going "it's him it's him it's HIM IT'S PAPA IT'S HIM." It was the eyes, man.

Some of the people went onto the bus but Tobias stopped and said to us "I have to put my bag up, but I will be back out shortly" or something to that effect. I don't remember everything exactly here just because I was so tired but also so hype. But Tobias did come back out, as did Chris, both armed with Sharpies, and like three guard-looking guys came out I think and Billy gave us all the "no photos, no selfies, no videos, please be cool" speech, which like, of course man, I made a show of turning my phone completely off lol

Tobias and Chris went down the line of us, talking to everyone one-on-one and signing things. When Tobias got to me, the first thing he said was "I really do like your shirt!" See, earlier in the day, Papa III had complimented it... I just, I love that he felt the need to either clarify that Papa was being sincere, or that both his character and himself liked the shirt. I told him I had an extra and I'd bring it for him next time I saw the band, and he, like, looked genuinely surprised? And he said "wow, really? Thank you, that's so kind of you." Then he signed my spirit board and I think he thanked me for the little letter I had handed over pre Meet and Greet and that's when I just wordvomited all over him about how this was my first concert in a decade and my physical and mental health were big hurdles but Ghost showing hp so close to him was like some kinda sign and I ended with "so thank you for existing." And he took it like a champ, responding simply "oh, you're very welcome" and then asked what I thought of the show. And I was like, when am I going to be in this situation again? So I kissed ass. I said "Honestly, it didn't feel like Ghost was the opener, you guys were the main show and Iron Maiden was your closing act" and I swear to christ this man GIGGLED and put his hand over his mouth like an anime and said "shit, don't let them hear you say that!" but then thanked me for the review lmao

So tobias moved on to my brother and Chris moved on to me and Chris as chris signed my board he said "you're the one who gave us the cat card? It was brilliant!" (I had written a note to the band inside an old Halloween greeting card that had black cats and pumpkins on it). I told him "yeah and the cat stickers inside are for everyone, don't let Papa hoard them" and Chris whirled around to shout to the guard guys "NO ONE TOLD ME THERE STICKERS" in like a silly fake anger thing. Then we talked about being cat parents. He whipped out his phone to show me his lock screen and said "that's my Rosie, I have two more weeks before I see her again" and I told him about my Loki and I think he was anticipating me showing him a picture but I was nervous to take out my phone ;-;

So yeah. I have a spirit board signed by Ifrit, Aether, and Papa III.

And yes, Tobias got the shirt.

The things I wanted to see in CARS...

I'm one of the few weirdos out there who actually digs, no... Not just digs, **loves** CARS.

Time to turn in my "animation fan" card, huh?

Yes that's right, the 2006 Pixar film that was largely conceived and mapped out by the incredibly talented Jorgen Klubien, but highjacked by a very overzealous John Lasseter, who pretty much wrote Jorgen's contributions to the movie out of the official production history. Anyways- Yeah, whoever actually made that movie, I love it.

And it's honestly very refreshing to see a generation who grew up watching that movie regarding it as "top tier Pixar" or "cinema". I was there from the start, I knew back then that it was pretty cool. CARS came out when I was 13 years old, and that young animation enthusiast back then loved it every bit as much as previous Pixar darlings like the TOY STORY movies, FINDING NEMO, and THE INCREDIBLES... While everyone else around them jeered that it was their first misstep, or it just was not as good as their previous movies. That it was just a DOC HOLLYWOOD rip-off. (A movie that no one would've ever thought of, until Pixar made something... See also, HERMAN'S HEAD being dredged up from the past when INSIDE OUT was being released.) Even THE SIMPSONS made a joke about CARS being regarded as a Pixar black sheep. Oh, and the endless discussion, "How does that world work??? It makes no sense???" (Please don't show these people 1940s and 1950s talking vehicle cartoons, lol.)

The previous whipping post/designated "weak link" was A BUG'S LIFE. No surprise, a relatively "simpler" fable that wasn't interested in reinventing the wheel... (And that too has been reclaimed, particularly for its not-so-subtle parallels.) Interestingly, CARS was conceived in the mid-1990s, and in another timeline it would've been the third Pixar movie *after* A BUG'S LIFE. I feel both movies had a lot in common, so this linking just confirms that for me.

Anyways, yeah... I knew it all along, but it's cool to see younger folk have held onto it since seeing it as kids and hold it up in high regard. The kids are alright, they know don't they? Just like they did with animated financial flops of the 2000s such as THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE, and critical duds like ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE. But that's what happens when adults go into an animated feature expecting something that specifically caters to their tastes, eh?

So, yeah, CARS of course spawned a massive franchise - and remained a thorn in the side of AH-dult animation fans and anal-retentive types who insist that Pixar only put out one specific kind of movie. CARS' success in 2006 lead to two theatrical sequels, two spin-offs produced by Disney's defunct animation studio Disneytoon (who handled direct-to-video movies and such), a ton of short films, and even a Disney+ series that came out last year.

However, I find it rather unusual that two of my favorite things pertaining to automobiles were *never* in these movies...

A) One of my all-time favorite cars...

Dodge Vipers.

The Viper was in production from 1991 to 2010, a short hiatus occurred, then it returned in 2013... But then the Viper ceased to be in 2017. It's seemingly a relic now, a car contained to the 1990s... But I'll always love the Viper, no two ways about that. Video games I had and played religiously starting in 1998 had a Dodge Viper option, and I fell in love with that car right off the bat.

And yet, not a single CARS movie, show, short, etc.... Had a Dodge Viper in it... Why you do me dirty like that, Pixar? I know that the series could only have so many kinds of real-life licensed vehicles in it, but the Viper was still a thing when the first movie came out and when the second movie was in production... And the third movie, for that matter...

Why no Vipers?

Ah well, Lightning McQueen kind of looks like a late '90s/early '00s Dodge Viper GTS Coupe anyways. The curvy front, the back spoiler, I kinda think so. No?

So yeah... No Vipers... I'm sure Pixar will continue this franchise in some way or another. CARS ON THE ROAD debuted in September 2022, which was five years after the release of CARS 3... The only new CARS stuff that came out in those five years were... Shorts, I think? There was at least one PIXAR POPCORN short dedicated to it. And it's very possible that show gets a second season, even if one of the people instrumental in it and other CARS media - Steve Purcell - got let go from Pixar.

Thing is, CARS 3 didn't really do all that good. Lowest grossing mainline movie in the series, and one of Pixar's lowest grossing in the pre-COVID years at that. $383m isn't terrible by any means, but against a $175m production budget... And when you compare that to what CARS 1 made in 2006 *without* the aid of 3D or IMAX or any premium formats... 11 years earlier, when tickets cost less... Yeah, I think that film kind of was the end? Disneytoon would've made more vehicle movies, such as a spacecraft movie that was set for 2019 and a movie about subway trains, but Disneytoon was shut down after Lasseter was ousted from every position of his at The Walt Disney Company. It's as if he kept DT on life support in the post-Eisner era.

But then again, it's still apparently an easy moneymaker for Disney, so a fourth movie could happen. Or another Disney+ series. After all, Cars Land is a thing among other various parks stuff.

I dunno, I just wanna Viper in a CARS movie or show!

And, also, I'm a weirdo. I'll gladly take another few of those movies, especially if they pay for more originals at Pixar.

So, what else did these movies not have?

B) Beach Boys songs about cars... And other classic cars songs, at that!

Okay, so I am a massive fan of The Beach Boys... And in their early years, roughly 1961-mid 1964, they did a lot of songs about cars amidst the burgeoning "hot rod rock" scene. Classics such as '409', 'Shut Down', 'Little Deuce Coupe'...

... heck a whole LITTLE DEUCE COUPE album filled to the brim with car songs, in addition to songs like 'Don't Worry Baby', 'Little Honda', etc. etc. etc.

Anyways, I can literally smell the motor oil when I hear these songs. Once leader Brian Wilson started producing the group, he really brought a level of immersion to these songs via the harmonies and arrangement of the instruments. Like, these songs define "car song".

About half of the soundtrack of CARS 1 was vintage stuff, but not really car stuff. I mean, you did have 'Route 66' by Chuck Berry, a road song for sure, but a song like the two above. That being, I always loved the needledrop choices in that one: 'Sh-Boom', 'My Heart Would Know', the cover of 'Life Is a Highway', etc. In addition to the songs recorded specifically for it.

Because CARS 2 largely sidelined its racing stuff for a spy plot, there wasn't much car song stuff to go around. And weirdly enough, that movie has a cover of 'You Might Think' by The Cars... You would think (hah) that they'd use the original version by **The Cars**? What is with these movies?

CARS 3 thankfully circled back to this kind of musical backdrop, but it was just a few covers of road songs and some new stuff, like Dan Auerbach's 'Run That Race'. Good stuff, but... No '60s hot rod songs!

Heck, if they ever made a fourth film or another series... I'd be down with it being set in the '60s. I'd legit love for it to be a straight up 1960s racing movie, as that was a prevalent subgenre back in the day. 1. Just coming out of Dan Corrigan's new video. My mind was kinda wandering trying to figure out what Max has been trying to tell me, but I caught the end of the video and he was talking about taking an entire day to practice pushing switch. Which is like... yes. Yes! That's how you learn. There's really no way around it, and throwing yourself into it (when you're stable and supported enough to handle if something goes wrong) and just getting used to how this new thing feels is really the only way forward. In any skill, in any field, with anything honestly.

Like that was a big theme of today, I guess. How learning stuff is about putting in the hours and just getting used to how a new thing is integrating into your life. And being awkward with it and getting frustrated and all that. That's part of it too, obviously. For me today, that was LittleTiles. It's a mod for Minecraft, a competitor to Chisels and Bits. If you're not familiar, both mods let you break minecraft blocks down into pixel-sized mini-blocks, which you can then combine to make your own custom creations. For a creative, this is solid gold. And LittleTiles even lets you make custom doors and usable furniture and shit too. And it lets you do like... ramps. Like angles. It's pretty nuts, a real game-changer. I spent the first bit of the day getting used to LittleTiles in what I was adopting as my new digital Zen garden. I did a lot of shaping of the shore along a pond I made, and I rounded the trunks of two trees. It started looking much better, and I learned a LOT about this mod and its capabilities. But I got an itch. I wanted Dynamic Trees. I didn't want to re-shape these trees to make them aesthetically realistic trees. I wanted these trees to be alive. Once I tried Dynamic Trees, I really can't go back.

So I deleted the world and the modpack and installed a custom modpack. Biomes O Plenty, Chisel, Dynamic Trees, JourneyMap, Dynamic Lights, Dynamic Surroundings, Serene Seasons, Chisels and Bits. I'm sure I'm missing something, but that was the bulk of it. Notice that LittleTiles isn't on there. Well... the most up to date version of MC they have that patched to is 1.12. I'm sorry, but I'm not going back. I was on 1.10 and 1.12 since like... 2017. The new versions are much more optimized, I feel. Maybe it's the new computer, I don't know, but the newer versions - with all their pitfalls - just seem to run much much cleaner. So I decided to just go back to old faithful, Chisels and Bits. So I "learned LittleTiles for nothing" today. But now, if people ever want to like play on the Minecraft server I set up and for some stupid blindly optimistic reason keep paying for... I can put that on there and use it much more confidently, having at least 2 hours experience in it.

If you want to learn something new, just fucking do it. If it's dangerous... maybe be supervised... but you know what I mean. If you want to learn harmonica? Don't just not buy one because you're worried about sounding bad. Who the fuck picks up a mouth-harp and plays goddamn Moonlight Sonata first try? That's Hollywood shit, or at most generous just someone with a lot of experience with mouth-based instruments. There are a lot of jokes I could make there, I'm just going to leave that to your imagination. The only way you get good at an instrument, an artistic medium, a craft, a trade, is by doing. By practicing. Theory is nice and helpful and gives context, but you have to apply it or else it's just remains a fun article you read one day, or a YouTube video you watched.

For me, that was polishing stones (among many other things). I've always wanted to have more since I was a kid, I loved rock collections! I was always curious how they got them so shiny and so smooth. And after several decades, I finally reconnected with that curious child through my artistic explorations, and I started researching. I learned about tumblers, and wet-saws, and cerium oxide, and diamond polishing compounds, and sanding pads, and lapidary wheels. I started by going "hey, this rock is cool, I'd like to incorporate it into a sculpture or like some sort of hand-crafted wand or something." And after chasing that rabbit off and on for a few years now, I now have a giant pile of quartz chunks on my floor, many are like... pure glass clear.

My art has, for the longest time, been about reclaiming objects, taking the mundane and the overlooked, the everyday things you don't even notice, and making them fucking beautiful. That's really the core of like... all of my work. It bloomed from graffiti. That's where I got my start as a visual artist. I'm sure my profile picture doesn't indicate that, but that's where I really embraced art and started to see it as more than just... drawing things I liked the look of. It was like... an act of transformation. If that makes sense? Like... how I would transform my front yard into a skatepark every winter for snowskating, hand-packing ramps and smoothing landing areas. Graffiti was really just taking bland, boring spaces that were basically just... nothing. Blank canvases. And painting something on them. Like how a skateboarder looks at an everyday set of stairs and just starts seeing gaps and stalls and flip tricks and slides.

But me... my work has always taken time. And I really don't like the idea of being a criminal. It hits a bit too home for me, and I don't like feeling not safe. That rush is not one I enjoy. I know some do, many do, but for me it doesn't bring good feelings. So my graffiti spark was redirected into notebooks, onto clothing, onto my skin. I literally drew a half-arm sleeve on my left arm and hand pretty much every day in ballpoint pen. I'd constantly be drawing on my pants too, since I had to draw on them anyway to get the oil unstuck out of the roller ball on my pens. I tried to find the exact pen I used to use, I couldn't remember what it was called. (Editing while reading this back: they were called Uni-ball Vision Elite, the white and black ones) I went through so many of those damn things. And when they forced me to switch mediums because they didn't offer Drawing as a focus at my college... yep... and I kept going there... I painted on cardboard, and pieces of scrap wood I found around, and sheets of luaun (I guess it's called) that were just kinda... around the studio. I just really didn't like working on canvases I guess, or I just didn't wanna shell out the cash, I don't know the reasons, I had money to spend... I just felt compelled.

I've always felt... compelled. And I feel like it's my job to let the creative compulsions, my Muse, guide me. My gut knows best with these things, and I'm seeing this trend of rejuvenating and beautifying things as like... my calling. And I keep getting people trying to fucking talk me out of it! Or convince me to give up. Like for fuck's sake, almost every person I know... their entire purpose in life is to like... make money. Like 75% of their energy goes into that, and then they figure out what to do with the money. Like... don't we have enough people doing that? Can't I like... make cool shit instead? And I'm just like... I know I'm super lucky to be privileged enough to even have these thoughts - which is a symptom of an extremely unhealthy society, by the way, when brainstorming your own life purpose and trying to find ways to bring that purpose to fruition is perceived as like... an act of defiance or something, like rebellion. It's weird... But like... I feel absolutely blessed to have found my purpose. And I found it at a really young age. And I've been committing fully to it for a very long time. It's really brought me so many gifts, it's hard for me to even put into words, and I hope others that I know get to feel that feeling too. That feeling of like... "oh, I'm the guy that takes normal everyday things and makes them into something really beautiful" "I'm the guy who writes stream-of-consciousness poetry" "I'm the guy who draws his dreams" To truly know yourself, and love yourself, and get a smile on your face when you think about yourself being able to be yourself.

I had a really interesting thought the other day about like... this whole social media publicity stuff for art. I 100% feel like I'm wasting my time when I do it. Like that time could be spent making cool things, or doing research. I don't want to be on fucking Instagram all day. But if I'm not, the algorithm won't push my shit. It's fucked up. I was briefly talking to an Instagram artist on Etsy today after I bought one of his (?) paintings and requested alternative shipping. USPS literally bent a folder that had a "Do Not Bend" sticker on it, shoved it in my mailbox and ruined a signed thing from Devin Townsend. Fuck them violently with a cactus outdoors in the winter. The artist mentioned not getting as much reach on Instagram lately. I figured they probably weren't as active on the site, because they were probably busy working on a cool new project. But guess what?! Instagram punishes you for not being active on their platform. So the less time you put into your work, and the more time you spend socializing on Instagram, the more likely you will be seen. Figure that shit out. I didn't talk their ear off about it, but I might mention that I'm an artist too, they seemed down to chat at length, I just... don't want to make it weird? I guess? I'm anxious. I said it. Even though they initiated, I'm still anxious.

So yeah, the quartz. So I decided after taking a break from Minecraft, before the decision to do a custom modpack... I decided to do some wooden beads. I went out to my old fire pit that has not been used once in 5 years because I don't have any friends, despite the fact that I love making fires. I looked through sticks there and found some candidates. And underneath, I found a piece of veined quartz in sandstone that I got at a local spot that was a notorious vein of smoky quartz. There were no obvious big pieces, it was like... scrap that people left over. I hadn't wanted to go through the trouble of digging through it, I had tossed it. Quite literally.

I brought the big puppy in. I tried to get the sticks to work and... I was struggling. Some were too thin, some were too angled. I cut some blanks, probably about... 10? And as I went to start woodturning... my dremel died. Like... take a hint? XD

So I plugged in the dremel, popped my safety glasses on, made a cup of tea, grabbed my rock hammers and proceeded to beat the shit out of this rock for 4 hours while listening to a YouTuber named Crecganford, who I highly recommend if you're at all into ancient mythology, language origins or just like super ancient primitive culture stuff. Really fucking crazy, cutting edge theories on the origins of myths and culture, going back to like... 75,000 BC and shit. Absolutely nuts. Great ambience to break big chunks of quartz to.

Most of the quartz was naturally fractured, I spent the time breaking big pieces into smaller pieces along any visible fault lines, trying to preserve the big well shaped pieces the best I could. There are a fuck ton of pieces of quartz in my carpet right now, which... isn't ideal... but I just started vacuuming them... so... that's a thing. Probably not great for the vacuum... but... better that than my feet. And no way in fuck I'm breaking rocks outside right now, it's like 30 degrees!

So I got about halfway through that rock and I have about 25 pieces of varying quality. Some is pure glass, some is a bit milky, some has what look like striations or streaks in it. Some still have fractures and I'm just waiting to get better tools to do smaller-scale shaping. But that was a massive influx of material to make jewelry out of that was just sitting in the firepit, that I would have easily just left here forever. It probably would've ended up thrown in the pond. All because of an impulse, and because I took the time to take the risk of learning how to break, shape and polish stones. So, going full-circle, I went from wanting to put cool stones into my carved wooden walking stick... to actually considering apprenticing as a gem cutter. If not for an actual job as like a fancy jeweler or something, just to have access to the equipment and learn the craft to add it to my set of tools/mediums for making beautiful things from found objects. And now I have over half a dozen faceted minerals, with a pile of at least 8 new ones sitting on the table ready to be shaped.

And I have to worry about my social media presence and shit. When all I want is to sand stones, and weave, and write, and record music, and wire-wrap, and there isn't enough time to do any of it! That's what frustrates me.

Anyway. That was most of my day. My Zen garden was wiped, and I started a new one with Dynamic Trees and got good work done on it. It looks cool and I'm excited to see how it evolves, I'll share screenshots as it starts to take shape a bit more. Now I need to go to bed because my whole sleep schedule reset thing is... well, it's after 3 so... yeah. I'm out.

Like this story flipped back and forth between utter shit post and somewhat well thought out bits like this and this is just some of my favorite from where the story was more serious. So like I have two big ones, one that I'm supposed to be working on and one that lives so rent free in my brain it should be illegal, both for the anime that I cannot escape My Hero Academia, because I totally needed to write fanfic for an anime

The first that I'm supposed to be working on is called Crumbling Rooftops and it's the only time I've ever joined a fandom event and I'm doing TERRIBLY. I want to keep it mostly secret because it WASN'T on my huge pinned posts of story WIPs until like March but it's really good I promise

The other that I'm going to immediately jump back to when I finish the only story I've ever written on a deadline is called Stray, and it's a soulmate adjacent OT3 story where three idiots get drunk at a party and get matching tattoos then forget who the other two idiots are only to, years later, have it come back to haunt them. It's an idea that kind of hit me in the face out of the blue in December of 2020 and now that I've shared it with someone I might actually finish it sometime this decade

The Late Late Show with James Corden producers called you and Harry trying to book you both to be on the show and to an interview together. You have to admit it that you got nervous; of course you had been through tons of interviews before but to do a double interview with Harry is a whole new level. You both are really private about your relationship and it's kinda rare to actually see one of you talking details of it, and it also had something to do about the larries fans. You were really concerned about them, you never want to disrespect them or even upset them in some way, even though some of them made fun of your relationship, they're still Harry's fans and you respect all of his fans without exception. But anyway, after a lot of talking between your management and between both of you too, you agreed to go and also felt a lot more comfortable because it was going to be with James, that was already friends of you guys.

It was set up that you both will be playing a game in the show called ''Spill your guts or fill your guts'', which actually worried you a little because of the hard questions but besides that, you were really calm, Harry made you calm. He was so great at calming you, I think it's the fact that those past 2 years you both had been through ups and downs and you got quite great at calming each other. And by the way, your man looked SO nice! You were kinda matching actually, as you both were wearing grey. You were in a grey suit and Harry had a grey sweater on looking stunning.

James called both of you on stage and you entered smiling and waving to the crowd as yoi walked towards James's direction. Harry gave him a big hug and you followed by hugging James as well. You both sat in the couch besides James's desk as the crowd got more silenced.

— It's so great to have you here! — James said to you both as he sat down on his chair — Honestly, I really thought you wouldn't accept!

Apparently James wasn't going to play with both of you, but you could also see there was bull penis, cod sperm, chocolate cockroaches, hot sauce, 1.000 year old eggnod and banana smoothie in the table. But anyway, you just chatted with Harry and James until it was time to start shooting again.

— So, we're back, and we're about to start playing ''Spill your guts or fill your guts''. — Harry said as the camera started filming again — And apparently, I'm going to host this part, unless you want to? — Harry asked looking at you across the table.

— No, you can do it! — You answered as you sat straight in the chair looking at the things in the table — I'm nervous I've never done this before.

— Oh yeah, you've never done it! Well that's exciting! — Harry said before letting a small evil laugh leave his lips making you laugh as well and roll your eyes — Ladies first! — Harry said and you took a deep breath before taking a paper card in your hands. — So what am I eating? — Harry said as you both looked to the table.

— I guess...hum.. you can stay with the hot sauce! — You said cheeky smiling at him spinning the table to put the hot sauce in front of him.

— You know how much I hate hot sauce! — Harry said frustated while looking at the sauce.

— I know! — You said right before you whispered a low ''oh god'' before reading the paper — I love this! — You said laughing a little — Alright, Harry explain to the world the meaning of ''Watermelon Sugar'' — You said laughing as you watched Harry's face goes red when he listens to what you asked.

— Well... — He took a deep breath before laughing a little. He's face went completly red as he thought of explaining it — I guess it's about, hum.. Giving pleasure...to your significant other...hm.. by eating a watermelon! — He said pausing a little containing his laugh. Of course everyone knew the real meaning of Watermelon Sugar but neither of you had ever actually defined it with the exact words about the meaning.

— Alright! That was good!...Very convincing! — You looked at him with a slightly mocking expression as you saw Harry trying to decide on what he's gonna make you try.

— Let's go with the banana smoothie! — Harry said with a huge malicious smile on his lips.

— No fucking way! — You said immediately. Harry knew how much you hated banana, actually you'd rather die than eating a banana, so he just laughs — Harry...

— It's a game! You gave me the hot sauce, I'll give you the banana smoothie! — He said and you tried your best to do your pity face, even with the doggy eyes basically begging for him to chose everything else except the banana smoothie. — Alright, alright — Harry sighed making you smile as he now changed the banana smoothie to the bull penis. It was bad, but way better than banana. Harry got a paper card and laughed a little when he read what was written — You're one of the most notable supermodels on your generation and also are friends with some of the greatest models from your time. — Oh god! — You covered your face with your hands making Harry laughs out loud. You looked at the bull penis quietly and then at Harry again — I feel like I could answer, right?

— I feel like I could answer! — Harry completed putting an emphasis on the ''I could'' making you laugh and then slide your right hand through your hair.

— We've talked about this before, I know, but it was a healthy gossip between a couple... — You said staring at Harry's face thinking — I'd say... — You started but then stopped as the crowd cheered a bit.

— That's not the point! Focus on the game! — You said as you looked through the rest of the things in the table — As I ate the penis, I'll give you the cod sperm so we can match later. — You said positioning the cod sperm in front of him — Actually, how did they got the sperm out of the cod? — You asked and Harry laugh looking at it as he said he had no idea. You picked another paper card and let out a loud laugh — I LOVE this game! He got the napkin beside him and wrapped it around his neck, then he got the fork with the cod sperm and stared at it quietly.

— Just put it in your mouth and swallow. Don't look at it! — You said innocently making the crowd laugh and Harry to look at you with a mocking expression while trying to contain his smile.

— Right, because ''don't look at it, just swallow'' fixes everything. What are you gonna tell me now? Should I spit or should I swallow? — Harry joked making you laugh realizing what you actually said.

— I mean, I'd swallow it! — You said joking back while holding back your laugh. Even though you were actually shy, you and Harry were used to always making sexual jokes so it was normal to you, and very funny too as you'd do it all the time. But Harry did as you said and threw it in his mouth, but he spit on the bucket beside him. It was your time again and he chose the chocolate Cockroaches and read the last question.

— Who is the most surprising celeb to ever slide into your DMs? — Harry asked making you smile thinking if you should tell it or not even though you knew exactly who it was and so did Harry. You'd always tell each other when someone flirted with you because this helped a lot to deal with all the being extremaly jealous story — WHO IS HE? — Harry joked making you let out a laugh.

— I mean.. I'd say you, for sure! I was really surprised! — You said making him smile because even though he knew you were very excited when he answered your DM, he was definetly not the most surprising celeb to slide into your DMS but he accepted the answer either way.

— Alright, this was fun! — Harry said finishing the game and then the camera came back to James and the new guest of the show.

You and Harry left the studio of The Late Late Show in NYC and grabbed dinner at a french restaurant in the city exactly like you both said you'd do in the end of the night. In the restaurant, you basically talked about the game and how fun it was to do this together and how much you loved going through new experiences together and how much you wanted to see what the future will bring to both of you, because even though the future was uncertain, you both had 100% of certain you wanted to spend it together.

Ooh tell me more about Bo and Oliver and their different versions?!

Honestly, they're one of my OTPs of my characters. I went OFF on this ask so I'll put a break so as to not clog up the dash 😅 Thanks for the ask!

Bo and Ollie went through many different changes from when they were originally made (as most characters created years ago do). I'm trying really hard to remember when I first made Bo, but through some computer magic I estimate it was in 2017. And from there, he's undergone many changes.

The reason I bring this up is it has to do with how he first was paired with Ollie.

Originally, Bo was very much a secondary OC, kinda not much thought when into him whatsoever, other than being a kid amongst the many kids of the main group.

One day, my RP partner (the creator of Ollie) and I decided to focus on that generation a bit more, and I started to sculpt Bo a little bit. I gave him a baseline premise of "the boy who's super reclusive but secretly loves musical theater and disney" that sort of trope. I was assuming he'd be straight, but at that point it wasn't frequent that I had gay OCs.

And Oliver was a gay boy, much more open about his interests in musicals, fashion, stuff like that. And our "plot" for Bo to get "outed" as someone who likes all that stuff too was for him and Ollie to get paired up in a school activity, and Ollie would slowly break his shell.

A little while into that plot, we both paused, we both looked at each other, and went... okay this is a typical closeted gay boy, and they would be PERFECT together.

And everything changed.

They went from being after-thought secondary characters to being like. THE main focus, often. As one could tell by my enthusiasm about Bo on here 😅

Over time Bo changed into the emo edgy gay necromancer that he is now, and I can't say that Ollie has changed much, or at least not that I can recall. My RP partner could probably say more on that. The biggest change I can come up with in regards to Ollie is that his original father was my OC Chris Haggerty, who is pretty much benched when it comes to the current canon. Now Ollie's father is Ness Lavellan, who is related to my god pantheon.

And then dipping in on the different versions, a bit of background. Bo wasn't originally Xander's son. In fact, he was originally Ben Solo's son, and then for a while, he was Stephen Strange's kid. Then, I made a character named Lena (Ness's sister, fun fact) and I wanted my partner to make someone to ship with her.

She ended up creating Xander, and he was an INSTANT favorite of mine. However, I very quickly became disinterested in Lena, and we realized that we didn't have a concrete significant-other for Clarice (Bo's mom), so we paired them up. We quickly made the connection of Bo and Xander having black hair and decided that Xander is now Bo's canon father. We gave Bo more of his features, such as purple eyes and demon magic.

Bringing it back to the different versions (I somehow always manage to write an entire essay before getting to the point 😅), it all started back in October. I was thinking about bringing Lena back out from the bench, but Xander was taken by Clarice, and they are also one of our OTPs. We're not breaking those two up for ANYTHING. But it was hard to imagine Lena being cool with that, as she existed out of the mortal plane and remembers the original cycle where she was with Xander.

My RP partner joked that she'd just make an evil Xander clone for her, which made me laugh. And then we paused. And we thought about it... and we KNEW we had to make that a thing. So she created Zander, and his storyline began.

After plotting that out a little bit, I was like "Well I know Lena isn't Bo's mom, but it would be really cool to see what Bo would be like if that version of him was his father." Then my partner pointed out that there could be a variant of Clarice, and well. Demon Bo was born.

The only plan we had for him was that he would have a period of time where he "Beauty and the Beast"-ed the main Ollie, and he'd eventually let him go once he takes the throne of hell. However, towards the end of that plotline, we got kinda sad at the thought of him being alone for eternity, so Kat suggested that we bring in a variant of Ollie that had demon magic, and they'd eventually become an item.

So now we have Bo and Ollie, one edgy emo necromancer, and one colorful musical mage. We love them. And now we also have Demon Bo and Demon Oliver (I think that's what we call him? I'll call him that for simplicity's sake), who we haven't touched on much, but I can't WAIT to get into.

Currently, there's a huge gap between where we left of their storyline and where we are now in canon, so I want to go back and write a series about what happened during that time. I got inspired by Hadestown the musical, and with the approval of Ollie's creator, I'm definitely gonna take heavy inspiration from that when writing it.
