i listened to the fall out boy version of we didn’t start the first (listing 1989-2023 world events) and can i just say. first of all the original song is silly and not that deep in its commentary but at least it was like an original idea. there’s a reason your 11th grade history teacher played it in your class in the cold war unit, right? it sets a scene and a mood without even having to do anything but listing a bunch of pop culture and political iconography. but there’s also like, a sequence of events. fob’s really just throws events and names of things together sloppily in no particular order other than if they kinda rhyme. it has a lot less impact when thinking about the recent historical or present moment bc it’s just like “thing you remember, other thing you remember, other thing you remember” but from one object to the next they have no particular connection to each other in space or time. it’s poorly associated.

a song you really like by an artist you otherwise don’t listen to very much (whether that’s because you usually don’t like their music, or just because you haven’t listened to the rest yet) - State Lines by Novo Amor
name 1-3 LEAST favorite songs off one of your favorite albums - Sad Beautiful Tragic (Taylor's version) by TS - Girl At Home (Taylor's version) by TS - Stay Stay Stay (Taylor's version) by TS (note: I will still go to bat for this song so don't try!!!!)

from the album you feel is perfect, what three songs would you choose to eliminate if you absolutely had to? - how dare u. girl at home, state of grace acoustic version, and maybe stay stay stay rip. the rest are too good and although i'm not a huge fan of sad beautiful tragic it still belongs on this album 100%

what was your first concert? - jonas brothers in 2009 lmao
what’s a song that your favorite band doesn’t perform live, but you really wish they would? - My fav band is Of Monsters and Men but I don't really know what songs they don't choose to sing live. if i could hear any song live from them it would be wild roses, hunger, or sleepwalker
if you could hear any album performed live in its entirety, which would it be? - red taylor's verison by taylor swift

have you ever traveled outside of your area to see a concert? if not, would you want to? - No, but I totally would

who is your favorite member of your favorite band? - Nana, from Of Monsters and Men
who (if anyone!) is your least favorite member of your favorite band? - Tbh I don't know the band members super in depth. I just really enjoy all their albums. Nana's my favourite because I love her voice the most, but i don't know enough about them to have a least favourite because they're all really good lol
what is a song that you like, but that you don’t listen to very often? - Piano Man by Billy Joel. I never search out to listen to this song but when it's playing, I love it so much
name a song that reminds you of one of your best memories - Barefoot Blue Jean Night by Jake Owen always reminds me of a time when I was in the seventh or eighth grade and my best friend (at the time) and I called into the radio station to play it and they did and we were so happy lol
name a song that you associate with being sad - I Almost Do by Taylor Swift but also Flowers For a Ghost by Thriving Ivory. Both songs give me very vivid flashbacks to when I was super sad. I Almost Do was a song I played in the apartment at the tom baker cancer center in calgary while my dad was in treatment so it was like a comforting-sad and then Flowers For a Ghost was a song I played relentlessly when my dad died so that one is a lot less comforting lol. It's almost hard to listen to.

is there any song that you mostly like, but there’s one specific part of it that you don’t like as much? if so, what is it? - You Need To Calm Down by Taylor Swift bc it's such a bop but I don't vibe with the lyrics "and we see you other there on the internet / comparing all the girls who are killing it" it just feels kind of awkward to me, but that's just me.
name an album you really love that you haven’t listened to in awhile - Speak Now by Taylor Swift. See also: The 1975 by The 1975
