37: Is it easier to forgive or forget? - Forgive. Forgetting isn't a thing.

01: Do you have a good relationship with your parents? - Yes
02: Who did you last say “I love you” to? - my cat, archer 03: Do you regret anything? - Oh, so much. Mostly I regret how I've reacted to certain things/people, choices I've made, things I've said or didn't say. 04: Are you insecure? - A complicated answer. Right now, I'm very insecure or I guess I'm just having a hard time identifying who I am, but I think intrinsically I'm not an insecure person. It's a hard thing for me to rationalize. 05: What is your relationship status? - single 06: How do you want to die? - In my sleep, unknowingly 07: What did you last eat? - Donuts 08: Played any sports? - No 09: Do you bite your nails? - Yes, oops 10: When was your last physical fight? - I've never been in a physical fight 11: Do you like someone? - No 12: Have you ever stayed up 48 hours? - I don't think so. Also, that's bad for you 13: Do you hate anyone at the moment? - Yes 14: Do you miss someone? - Alwayssss 15: Have any pets? - Yes, my fat Siamese baby, Archer 16: How exactly are you feeling at the moment? - Full, tired, chronically sad/overwhelmed lately 17: Ever made out in the bathroom? - No 18: Are you scared of spiders? - Yes, and I don't trust people who aren't 19: Would you go back in time if you were given the chance? - Yes 20: Where was the last place you snogged someone? - I've never "snogged" anyone
21: What are your plans for this weekend? - Working :( 22: Do you want to have kids? How many? - Maybe, but I'm legitimately terrified to give birth so idk. Maybe 1-3. 23: Do you have piercings? - Currently, no. I used to have my ears pierced but the holes grew over but I want them again. 24: What is/are/were your best subject(s)? - English and Health 25: Do you miss anyone from your past? - I miss so many people from my past 26: What are you craving right now? - I still want to eat sugary snacks but I'm too full :/ 27: Have you ever broken someone’s heart? - I think so, my bad 28: Have you ever been cheated on? - No 29: Have you made a boyfriend/girlfriend cry? - Never been in a relationship 30: What’s irritating you right now? - Nothing really, I'm just super tired 31: Does somebody love you? - Not romantically, but at least I got my mom lmao 32: What is your favourite color? - Red 33: Do you have trust issues? - A little bit. More so, I have ~control~ issues 34: Who/what was your last dream about? - I can't remember exactly what happened, but I was trying to hide something from my coworkers lmao 35: Who was the last person you cried in front of? - My mom 36: Do you give out second chances too easily? - Yes and no. Depends on the person and circumstance 37: Is it easier to forgive or forget? - Forgive, but even that feels impossible sometimes, but I don't really believe you can forget things that hurt you/don't believe you can forget something you haven't forgiven 38: Is this year the best year of your life? - No omg. This year has been terrible so far. 2013 is still the WORST year of my life, but this is in the top 3 worst years of my life lmao 39: How old were you when you had your first kiss? - I haven't had my first kiss yet (and I'm not getting into it) 40: Have you ever walked outside completely naked? - No, I'm not a barbarian 51: Favourite food? - Cheesecake 52: Do you believe everything happens for a reason? - No 53: What is the last thing you did before you went to bed last night? - Read 54: Is cheating ever okay? - No 55: Are you mean? - No 56: How many people have you fist fought? - Zero 57: Do you believe in true love? - Yes 58: Favourite weather? - Rainy fall day or sunny, Luke-warm day 59: Do you like the snow? - Yes and no. Complicated answer because I'm Canadian. I always find the snow absolutely so beautiful and I love the first snowfall, but once it gets to January where it's brutally cold, and you have to shovel SO MUCH SNOW then I hate it. Also driving in it isn't fun. So I like it on MY terms 60: Do you wanna get married? - Yes, but I have this thing where I don't want to let go of the past and my childhood and I feel like if I get married then I'll be forced to realize that that part of my life really is over and it's just super weird and complicated. 61: Is it cute when a boy/girl calls you baby? - I don't know yet. I've never had anyone call me that. I don't know how I feel about pet names like that. Sometimes it's cute, other times I find it corny 62: What makes you happy? - Jesus and Taylor Swift 63: Would you change your name? - Yes because I feel like my name sounds childish/isn't professional enough 64: Would it be hard to kiss the last person you kissed? - Never been kissed, again 65: Your best friend of the opposite sex likes you, what do you do? - Either I don't acknowledge it OR they tell me and I friend zone them OR I date them and we have a friends-to-lovers love affair 66: Do you have a friend of the opposite sex who you can act your complete self around? - No 67: Who was the last person of the opposite sex you talked to? - I don't remember. Probably a client at work lmao 68: Who’s the last person you had a deep conversation with? - My mom
69: Do you believe in soulmates? - Yes and no. I think there's someone we can deeply connect to that it feels like soulmates, but I don't think we have just one person. I also feel like soulmates can be friendships too. 70: Is there anyone you would die for? - My mom bc I love her

Describe your dream house - I want something that's very rustic, bright and classy. Maybe a French-Country kind of thing with a splash of boho. I've always pictured myself having a house that looked kind of ranch style on the exterior. Inside, lots of beiges, creams, tans, white brick, etc. Some wicker furniture pieces and light fixtures. Big kitchen with an island and also white cabinets that have little windows on them, open concept, big windows so everything is bright when the sun comes in. Barn doors for the pantry. Light coloured vinyl or hardwood floors. Big wooden beams on the ceilings. I also want a big back yard so I can have a fire pit and a patio. My idea of my "dream house" is very specific, and I have an overwhelming amount of inspiration pictures on my Pinterest lmao. - On another note, if I'm allowed to go crazy... say if I won the lottery and was allowed to have outrageous things in my house I'd want a spiral staircase, a bookcase that's secretly a door that leads to a beautiful reading nook or little library. I'd also want a Koi pond built into the floor. I love Koi ponds and I've always thought if I got really rich and I was going to do something weird and outrageous, that's what would happen.
What's your top 5 songs at the moment and why? - Maroon by Taylor Swift because Taylor put something in that song that I cannot explain. The chorus and bridge make me feral. - Anti Hero by Taylor Swift. a) Relatable. b) a good beat. c) I'm a monster on the hill - About You by The 1975 specifically for that one verse. Also it feels dreamy. - All Too Well (10 Min Version) by Taylor Swift for obvious reasons. Also this is my all-time favourite song to exist in the universe. It'll always be on the list. - Another Love by Tom Odell for that bridge (I also didn't want to write Taylor Swift again because it makes me feel annoying)
What's your favourite memory from school? - Any memory during Halloween or Christmas time when we got to colour pictures and do crafts :')
Whats your least favourite memory from school? - There's a lot tbh. Probably when my math teacher accused me of cheating on a test in the sixth grade in front of the whole class. It was so embarrassing and untrue. (The reason behind it was that I was new to middle school and put the test in my locker because I didn't finish it, thinking 'oh I'll finish at school tomorrow' instead of handing it to the teacher. Obviously not well thought out, but he was way too extra about it lmao)
Whats your relationship with your parents like? - Strong and healthy
Describe one of your favourite people - One of my favourite people is a friend of mine. I met her at work a couple years ago. She's very personable and friendly. When we first met, she was new at work, and she crossed the whole store the second she saw me and introduced herself which I thought was just so friendly. We have very long coffee dates and she shops at thrift stores but somehow finds the best and cutest clothes.
Talk about your favourite tv show as a kid - OMG. I think my all-time fav show as a kid was Little Bear. Obviously it was about a bear who was little and he had all these little animal friends, and they'd do fun things and go on small adventures, mostly in their imaginations I think. I loved that show so much and some of my fondest memories of being a kid was when I was watching Little Bear.
Talk about a band you loved as a teenager - The 1975!! I went through this phase in the tenth/eleventh grade where I was obsessed with them!! It faded a bit and now I still listen to their music, but not as avidly as I did then. I remember I loved them so much I would write stories based off of their songs lol
Talk about your favourite historical period - I'm always really inspired by the Victorian Era. I think I just find it very fascinating and it reminds me of the fantasy genre a little bit lol. The furniture was so detailed and unique, and I just love the history that's there. Obviously, I know it wasn't sunshine and roses to live back then, but I've always loved it for some reason.
Share a recipe you love - Chicken Tortilla Soup is my favourite!! (Doesn't really matter which one - they're all the same on google)
How many children do you want and why? - About 2-3. I don't really have a good reason why. I can see myself with that many.
What's your favourite season and why? - Autumn <3 I love autumn because I feel like that's when the year comes alive, ironically. That's when my favourite fall drinks come out, favourite clothes (like the sweaters), the trees are so pretty, corn mazes, pumpkins, apple crisp and apple pie and other baked goods, the weather is generally really nice; crisp mornings but warm afternoons. I also love that Halloween and Christmas are coming up because those two are my favourite holidays. Taylor Swift albums usually come out in the fall and it's also Red Album season. On a more real note, I also just start to feel a little bit better. I find summer makes me a little nostalgic and sad, so when fall rolls around, my spirits lift.
Write a review for the last book you read - AMAZING. 10/10!!!! PLEASE READ!!!! I read The Stolen Heir by Holly Black and I loved it! I saw some people give solid critiques to a few things, but I disagreed a bit. I thought the main character, Suren, captured my attention right away and I fell in love with her. I feel like I might need a little more time with Oak to fall in love with him, but Holly made me fall in love with Suren within two pages which I think is such a testament to who she is as a writer. It was also such an incredible journey throughout the book, and the ENDING. I can't wait for The Prisoner's Throne <3
Write a review for the last film you watched? - Amazing. I love Wreck It Ralph.
Write a letter to someone your no longer in contact with - N/A
Talk about your favourite conspiracy theory - I don't really believe in conspiracy theories, but I remember when the theory that Ted Cruz was the zodiac killer went around lol
Whats your favourite city and why? - I have no evidence for this but Montreal, because it looks pretty. I haven't been there, but I saw pictures. (Honourable mentions: Edinburgh, which I also saw pictures of and would like to visit someday.)
Describe an essay/story you wrote in school - I remember writing an essay in grade ten where I just trauma dumped on my teacher. Got an A though.
Whats some life advice everyone should know - This isn't really life "advice" but just a general tip which is that everyone should stop engaging in hustle culture because it's a disease.
If you got $500,000 what would you buy - A car, another cat, and maybe an apartment.

end of the year book asks
How many books did you read this year? - I think about 25-30 (which is the least amount I've ever read omg)
Did you reread anything? What? - Almost all the books I read last year lmao. The ones I re-read the most was The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garner (including Once Upon a Brokenheart, which was the first book in that trilogy), The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon (because it's my favourite), The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen, and The Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. I haven't seemed to find any books that are quite as good as those ones so I was just reading the same content over and over lol.
What were your top five books of the year? - The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber, Fable by Adrienne Young, The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton, The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen, and Cursed by Marissa Meyer
Did you discover any new authors that you love this year? - India Holton and Deanna Raybourn. I think they're smaller authors, but their books are really good, really entertaining and honestly relaxing.
What genre did you read the most of? - YA Fantasy-Romance. This genre takes a hit a lot but when you find really good books in this category, they're so good.
Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to? - Too many. I meant to read Stalking Jack The Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo and People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry but didn't get around to it.
What was your average Goodreads rating? Does it seem accurate? - I don't really use Goodreads
Did you meet any of your reading goals? Which ones? - Not really :( I was supposed to read 65 books this year lol. I upped it because I usually end up around there at the end of the year, but this year just felt like reading content really lacked. However, I did still meet my goals of reading an hour every day.
Did you get into any new genres? - Not really. I seem to stay romance-adjacent with my reads.
What was your favorite new release of the year? - The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber
What was your favorite book that has been out for a while, but you just now read? - I think Fable by Adrienne Young. I don't think it's been out for "a while" but it wasn't a new release.
Any books that disappointed you? - The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout, I read a book by Emily McIntire called Hooked that had a really good synopsis but it was the worst book I have ever read in my entire life. It was so bad that I will always remember how bad it was. Awful. Terrible. (Note: I didn't know who this author was and it wasn't a book I was anticipating, but the summary sounded enticing and then I started reading and it was an awful experience). I also didn't really care for The Inadequate Heir by Danielle. L Jensen which sucks because I was looking forward to it, but it wasn't horrible - just not quite what I was expecting.
What were your least favorite books of the year? - I'll give those medals to The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout and Hooked by Emily McIntire
What books do you want to finish before the year is over? - I'm not really reading anything right now tbh.
Did you read any books that were nominated for or won awards this year (Booker, Women’s Prize, National Book Award, Pulitzer, Hugo, etc.)? What did you think of them? - Tbh I don't really pay attention to what books won what so I'm not sure! I usually read just whatever looks good to me.
What is the most over-hyped book you read this year? - I don't know if I read an "overhyped" book this year. I guess A Light In The Flame by Jennifer L. Armentrout, but that wasn't really hyped online, it was more so that I thought it was gonna be good and then it wasn't lol. Actually 2022 was the year I realized I don't like JLA novels at all.
Did any books surprise you with how good they were? - Deanna Raybourn books!!! I'm in love with Stoker and Veronica and honestly, the fact they're not talked about more is upsetting because those books are actually really good. They're cute, funny, entertaining.
How many books did you buy? - I don't remember lol. Probably just shy of what I read (I'll say 20-25 of them I bought)
Did you use your library? - No, I never use the library :( I either bought books at Indigo or through Apple Books and Amazon Kindle app.
What was your most anticipated release? Did it meet your expectations? - I think the book I was most excited for was Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber, and it exceeded my expectations. I loved every second of that book.
Did you participate in or watch any booklr, booktube, or book twitter drama? - No, but I did watch some book tube reviews for fun.
What’s the longest book you read? - I have no clue omg. The only one that I think was the longest that I can recall was probably A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas (which I read in 2021), but I'm not sure
What’s the fastest time it took you to read a book? - I think over night. I can't remember what book but I remember starting it at like 9 or 10 pm and finishing at like 4:30 am lol
Did you DNF anything? Why? - The only one I really remember not finishing is Hooked by Emily McIntire because it's the worst book ever
What reading goals do you have for next year? - I kind of want to get back to where I was by reading roughly 65 books by the end of the year. This year just felt like there were no books that really captured my attention so when I felt like reading I'd just go back and find a book I remembered enjoying and reading that instead of anything new.

Winter Writeblr Qs
❄️ Snowflake: talk about a unique trait or aspect of your favorite OC. Have they been living rent-free in your brain? It’s time to talk about them! - Eva lives rent free in my brain all the time. She's my MC's mother's friend/caretaker as well as my MC's second mother figure in her life. The reason I love her so much is because of how strong-willed and brave she is. Part of her back story is sad and highlights a time in her life when she wasn't those things yet -- or she was, but didn't allow herself to realize it. I think I love her journey the most, which began before the story even does. She's the type to tell you her most vulnerable thought or feeling, and look you in the eye while doing it. She demands respect because she knows her value, and she knows her value because of all the shit she had to shovel in her past and it just makes me admire her as a character. It kinda makes me sad that she may not be in this book very much, but I've written little drabbles of her.
🔥 Fireplace: what type of scene are you most comfortable writing? Emotional, action, dialogue-heavy? - Emotional. I could wax poetic about emotion for hours.
🥶 Ice: what’s been the most difficult scene for you to write? - I haven't dived into writing this book yet (other than drabbles of half-scenes) but in general, I struggle writing action because it feels like things are happening so fast and I struggle to balance it.
☕️ Hot Cocoa: what do your OCs do if they need reassurance or comfort? Do they talk to someone/fall back on a certain activity? - (I'm only going to talk about Holly and Arrow) Arrow will engage in something that keeps him from feeling lonely or insecure, so he will do something wild or fun to gain validation and approval (like from a crowd or groups of people). He's not really self-aware of his own emotions though, so he wouldn't go to someone for comfort outright, it would be him seeking comfort accidentally. - Holly is a little bit similar, but also a little more aware of her feelings. She can't easily articulate them, but she knows they're there. She's closest to Eva, who is probably her only friend, as her mother is unavailable, and Eva is the only person Holly would feel safe enough with to be that vulnerable with. She's also a helper and a "do-er" and to reassure herself, she's mostly likely going to be at the hands of helping someone else in need.
🧤Gloves: share a snippet you’re particularly proud of! -
With that, there was a clink on the window.
A bird, he thought at first. Or a small branch. Or a piece of dirt blown from the wind.
It happened again, but it was heavier. Hesitant and yet still demanding. A fist against the window. The wind howled against it, but a third knock came.
He was stupid enough to answer. Freya Delacroix stood on the ledge of his window in her sopping wet leathers, face bleached white from rain and cold. Strands of her hair darkened by rainwater, sat haphazardly against her cheeks and neck like the gnarled roots of an old tree.
He stepped back, but it was the wrong move, because Freya Delacroix then tumbled into his room on her hands and knees before skittering back onto her feet but didn’t look him in the eye.She glanced around his room. To the fire crackling in the fireplace. To the fur rug draped haphazardly on the polished stone floor, one corner turned up where he must have tripped on it earlier while drinking his wine. To the portrait of his father that sat on the nightstand, glowering at her despite the kindness in his face. To the wine and glass sitting in the tray next to the armchair.
“You didn’t tell your mother,” she said. A log on the fire cracked.
🌲Pine Tree: share a snippet that shows a character being strong (whether that’s physically, mentally, emotionally, etc.)
"It has been a long time since I let a man speak to me that way,” Eva said. Her hands weren’t fisted, but her eyes held Thomas’s firmly and her spine grew several inches taller. “I accepted it then, but I will not accept it now.”
Something slithered beneath Thomas’s anger. An emotion he knew well yet still could not name. He shoved it back into whatever place it had crawled out of. Sealed  it up and locked its door twice."
🌟Night Sky: what are your writing goals for 2023? Or: how did you feel about your writing in 2022? - I feel like my writing in 2022 was slow, but progress was made, and I feel like I broke through many barriers I couldn't get past before. I did a lot more fleshing out this year, a lot more journaling about my characters to get to know them, and it opened such a broad world for them. My goals for 2023 is to actually get writing done -- to stop hindering myself or holding myself back because I'm afraid to fail. To just let myself go, let my writing go, and just create.
🍲 Soup: share a snippet where a character does something kind. - (This is from a different project! And while it's not totally "doing something kind" it's the softest moment between Freya and Fox that I had written so far.)
“I love my family,” Fox continued, suddenly. His face had softened and the soft glow of candlelight cast shadows across his cheek bones and down the slope of one cheek. He was handsome, but only gently so, and he became more attractive as he remembered his family. “I love my mother and my sister. I loved…my father. I love him still.”
“I don’t know what that means. I don’t love my family. I don’t love anyone.” The tips of her ears grew red as her confession sat still and heavy in the silence.
Fox studied her, not seeming to find that sudden stillness, the sudden rawness between them uncomfortable. “Surely that’s not true. Don’t you love your mother?”
⛸️ Ice Skating: tell us about a skill your OC has. Is it unusual? Something they worked hard on? Does it ever come in handy? - Holly is extraordinarily good at sewing and tailoring clothing. She sews and mends her own clothing, and even goes to some clients houses to help them, in return for pay. - Arrow is exceptionally good at sleight of hand tricks! He's a thief, so he's also really really good at sneaking around and knowing how to sneak properly, as well as being super sly and sneaky at pickpocketing.
🛷 Sled: how has your writing process changed this year? Or: are you going to try anything new in your process in 2023? - I've been stuck for a very long time trying to get my writing "right" and "perfect" including how I outline stories. I've never been able to finish anything, so this year I want to dedicate and devote myself to planning and writing how I want to and what works for me. Something I began doing this year was journaling my ideas and my characters in my journal, as if I'm talking it out to someone else and it helped immensely. It's something I want to continue doing because it works so well for me. I also want to try doing a little more of a "rough sketch" outline, because I think I fall somewhere in between pantsing and plotting. I just kind of want to let myself fall into writing, instead of trying to control how I think I should be doing it.

what song makes you feel better? - All Too Well (10 Min Version) by Taylor Swift
what’s your feel-good movie? - You've Got Mail or honestly any Disney animation movies (also anything that's seasonal like the Halloweentown movies during Halloween or A Christmas Carol (Disney's 2009 version) during Christmas time.)
what’s your favorite candle scent? - I have favourite candles based on seasons. During the spring and summer time it's Black Cherry Merlot from Bath and Body Works. During the fall it's Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin (which tbh I think is my all-time favourite) from Bath and Body Works and then during the winter time it's Fresh Balsam from Bath and Body Works.
what flower would you like to be given? - I really like daisies and lilies (especially water lilies)
who do you feel most you around? - My mom
say three nice things about yourself (three physical and three non-physical). - Physically, I guess I have nice hair, I look good in red lipstick, and I guess I have nice eyes?? (Tbh idk). Non-physically, I'm warm-hearted, very genuine, and I think my kindness runs very deep.
what color brings you peace? - I think like a soft tan.
tag someone (or multiple people) who make you feel good.  - N/A
what calms you down? - Hot Chocolate, music, and a good book
what’s something you’re excited for? - Taylor Swift's new album Midnights. One month to go!
what’s your ideal date? - Probably doing something low-key but fun and entertaining like going to a museum, a corn maze, an aquarium or even just a really nice drive with coffee.
how are you? - For the most part, I've had a really good day today, but the last week I was struggling with a little bit of anxiety and panic attacks that were coming out of the nowhere but I think they were due to me suppressing emotion or just a hormone thing. I've been really stressed about my future, but I think (I hope) things are going to start looking up. I got offered a new position at my job so I'm no longer going to be a cashier but part of the operations team where I'll be unsticking and cleaning which sounds kind of boring when I tell people but I'm really relieved because it's more low-key and relaxed with higher pay. Being a cashier was hurting my mental health by a lot so I'm ready for something that's behind the scenes like this.
what’s your comfort food? - Cheesecake or burger and fries I think. But tbh, it's more of a comfort "drink" for me. I always drink hot chocolate when I'm really sad which I've done that since I was really young. It immediately makes me feel comforted.
favorite feel-good show? - Superstore, Once Upon a Time (idk if this is considered feel-good but it gives me an escape and I like the fairytale-esque vibe), and probably Brooklyn Nine-Nine too.
for every emoji you get, tag someone and describe them in one word. - N/A
compliment the person who sent you this number. - N/A
fairy lights or LED lights? - Fairy
do you still love stuffed animals? - Not really. They're cute, but I was never really a stuffed animals kid either.
most important thing in your life? - My mom and my writing
what do you want most in the world right now? - To break out of my "writing block" feelings / fears of failure / negative thinking. It's all spiralled into one so if I could have that problem stop so I could actually do what I love, that'd be very nice
if you could tell your past self one thing, what would it be? - To stop trying to be other people or shape yourself into something YOU think is worthy and just be yourself. Stop trying to replicate other author's writing and just write like you. (Still trying to learn this tbh. It's been a long haul.)
what would you say to your future self? - More likely a question like: Are we content? Did it work out okay?
favorite piece of clothing? - Turtle neck sweater because it makes me feel like a rich French girl with her life together
what’s something you do to de-stress? - Journal or listen to music
what’s the best personal gift someone could give you (playlist, homemade card, etc.) - I'd love if someone did something personal and creative like write me a poem or draw something for me. I think that's super cute.
what movie would you want to live in? - Halloweentown because I want to live in Halloweentown. Always have, always will.
which character would you want to be? - Not sure about this one. I think I'd like to be me living in Halloweentown.
hugs or hand-holding? - Hand-holding. I'm not a hugger.
morning, afternoon or night? - Evening. (I also love mornings tho)
what reminds you of home (doesn’t have to mean house… just things that remind you of the feeling of home)? - I think just feeling contentedness and maybe even coziness. Something that makes me think of this feeling was a memory I had of it being a Sunday afternoon in the winter, we had all my favourite foods because we just came back from grocery shoppings, and then I was about to watch a Christmas movie. That feeling to me feels like home, because I was so content and at peace.

53: Books!
BOOK RECS ASK GAME
a book that is close to your heart - My favourite childhood book. Love You Forever by Robert Munsch
a book with a blue cover - The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
a stand-alone that you wish was part of a series - The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton. While ~technically~ this is sort of a series, it reads as a stand-alone and the other books are in the same universe but star different characters (previous character do appear tho) I wish this one was almost like an episodic book series about Cecilia and Ned because I fell in love with them and wished I could hear more about their shenanigans and their relationship and life together.
a poetry book that reads like a story - On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong
something in fiction that reads like poetry - I don't have one that truly comes to mind. The Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi kind of reads like a poetry, but only a bit.
a book with a pink cover - Cinder by Marissa Meyer (depending on which cover you have!)
a book you did not finish - Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
a book you finished in one sitting - Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber
your favourite book of 2020 - I can barely remember omg!! I think it was a Kingdom of Flesh and Fire by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Not for sure though but I remember this one being highly anticipated and I really liked it! (don't ask me about the fourth book tho...)
a book that got you through something - Tbh I don't have a good answer for this because I'm constantly using books to escape most things so I kind of want to say all of them??? A book that did really help me though was the Gift of Imperfection by Brene Brown. It's not fiction but genuinely enlightened me!
a book with a green cover - The Cactus by Sarah Haywood
a book that mentions food in the title - N/A :(
your favorite romance novel - If you couldn't tell from my book recs, I am a Romance Reader so this is a very hard question. I think it might be 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne just because I'm still in love with Tom Valeska (AND Sally Thorne's books in general)
a book that made you trip on literary acid - Crush by Richard Siken (I hope tripping on literary acid is a good thing...?)
a book rec you really enjoyed - The Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle L. Jensen (truly the only time booktok made a good rec)
a book you'd recommend to your younger self - maybe A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer because I personally didn't *love* it but I felt like my younger self would have. I remember thinking that when I first read it.
a book with a yellow cover - Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas
your least favorite book ever - Either The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L. Armentrout or Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
a book that put you in a reading slump - I've never really been in a reading slump but honestly anything written by Colleen Hoover kills me tbh (Sorry I don't mean for that to come across really rude. I just can't with her books)
a book that got you out of a reading slump - The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen ( trying not to repeat books but oops!)
a book with a red cover - Blood and Honey by Shelby Mahurin
your favourite thriller - N/A. Don't read thriller.
a book that is currently on your TBR - People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry
a book on your nightstand - Gilded by Marissa Meyer
a book by your favourite author - The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
your favourite memoir - N/A

a book you wish you could read as a beginner again - The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
your favourite YA novel - Faking Normal by Courtney C Stevens
your favourite middle grade book - Immediately can only think of the Maximum Ride books by James Patterson. I was obsessed.
a book that mentions a name in the title - Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
your favourite nonfiction novel - N/A
a book with a white cover - How The High King of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories by Holly Black
a book featuring the enemies to lovers trope - The Cruel Prince by Holly Black
a book featuring the found family trope - The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
a book that mentions time in the title - The Fifteenth Minute by Sarina Bowen (does this count??)
your favourite heist book - N/A (I would've said Six of Crows but I haven't gotten around to reading it!!)
your favourite series - There's so many. I'll list a few of my all-time favs bc I can't narrow it down lmao. The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle Jensen, The Winners Curse Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski, Caraval series including Once Upon a Broken Heart spin-offs by Stephanie Garber, The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon, Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas, and The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer.
a book featuring your favourite character - A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas (don't make fun of me. I love Nesta Archeron)
a book with a black cover - From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout
a book about nature - N/A
a book that made you want to scream by the time you got to the end - A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas (and NOT in a good way - I would burn this book)
a book that you have read more than three times - The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon (part of The Bone Season series. This book is my fav in the series!)
your favourite fantasy novel - This is literally so hard. I'm going to say either Queen of Shadows, Empire of Storms, or Kingdom of Ash from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas, just because I think the characters and the world-building in this series is so well-done and feels so expansive to me.
a book featuring the friends to lovers trope - Marriage on Madison Avenue by Lauren Layne
a book with a brown cover - The Dawn Chorus by Samantha Shannon
a book that mentions a place in the title - Love on Lexington Avenue by Lauren Layne
your favourite sci-fi novel - N/A
a book featuring the bed-sharing trope - There's so many of these. The only one coming directly to mind tho is From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout
a book that made you cry a LOT - The Fault in our Stars by John Green (which is why I didn't finish it- it was super triggering to me tbh)
a book that you found underwhelming - The War of Two Queens by Jennifer L Armentrout. I was so excited for this book and then disliked every second of it.
a popular book/series that you love - Unfortunately, I love a Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas despite everyone's controversial opinions. (In fact, I love the way Sarah writes her characters - they feel so real to me and that's what really attracts me to her books.)
a popular book/series that you hate - Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi. Don't know how these ones popped up tbh
a book that features an animal in the title - The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
a book with an orange cover - The Trouble With Hating You by Sajni Patel

52: Writerly Questions...
Water: How did you start writing? - In the sixth grade, I started reading YA novels because my one friend was a fan of them and then I started writing my own "mini" stories (they weren't really full length anything's and tbh I don't think any of them had real plot lines lmao)
Earth: What do you think is the foundation of your WIP? - Hm... I think it's a loss of childhood/loss of who you used to be as a result of pain/trauma/circumstance. I think there's a little bit of a theme of identity too which ties into that loss as well as a loss of identity. So, I guess the answer is actually loss, generally.
Fire: What’s a scene that you are dying to write? - There's a moment I've been thinking about for a while where my main character, Holly, has to let go of her mother or she at least comes to this realization about her mother, and as a result has to confront this sense of a loss of dreams, loss of childhood, loss of hopes, etc. I feel like this moment is pivotal and vital to Holly, and while I know it will be emotional, I'm eager to write it because there's a piece of me attached to this moment.
Air: What’s the easiest part of writing for you? - None of it <3 (Creating characters tbh)
Shadows: What’s the darkest theme you’ve ever written about? - I'm not actually too sure. I write about loss a lot, but I don't know if I've ever gone really dark. I guess I've written a little on suicidal ideation in some of my poetry, but I haven't really explored dark themes in my fiction writing.
Lightning: What’s the most shocking plot twist you’ve ever come up with? - I don't think I have a shocking plot twist. (I've only just come back to fiction writing in recent years and have devoted too much time to brainstorming and planning over actually writing so I don't have a real answer for this one. Also, I never see my plot twists as "plot twists" because they're more plot twists to my character, not to the reader.)
Rain: Have you ever made yourself cry with your own writing?  If so, what was it? - Not recently, but I did in the past when I was younger and I remember it had something to do with separating two characters. And to be super real, it probably was overdramatic and not sad at all because this was when I was like thirteen I think lmao. I have definitely cried writing poetry though, especially poems that were centered around my dad.
Grass: What’s the biggest change you’ve made in your WIP since you started it? - My wip has changed SO much!! My first idea for this project I had when I was eighteen, I think, so it's completely different, but I've made the biggest change lately. I cut out two characters I was really excited about, but there storylines weren't working so I cut them out and then the second biggest change was to my main character, Holly, who now has very powerful magic that is very vital to the main storyline regarding my antagonist.
Ice: What do you always get stuck on when writing? - I'm really prone to burn-out and imposter syndrome along with perfectionism which has just kind of snowballed into one large messy thing so I have a hard time actually allowing myself to write because I have a very negative mindset regarding my work and how much I want it to be "right" and "perfect". I wish I could just let myself create and not worry about that stuff.
Sand: What’s the softest scene you’ve ever written? - It's not technically a full scene, but a little ~drabble~ I wrote a couple years ago before I had really worked out the plot. I don't even truly remember what the snippet truly was, but it was regarding the love interest, Arrow, who was watching my main character, Holly, just do something very simple and it made him <3 soft <3
Rock: How do you deal with writer’s block? - Not gonna lie, I start crying and overthinking and get really bad anxiety. Healthier ways I've dealt with it in the past was listening to music and reading, but over the last few years, I haven't dealt well lmao
Clouds: How clearly do you picture a scene before you start writing it down? - I feel like I half-picture it. If I think of a scene, I immediately start writing it into my Notes app on my phone, but it's just a very small and basic glimpse of it. At this point in time, I haven't described setting or anything -- it's usually what a character is doing, thinking, or saying.
Metal: What’s the hardest part of writing for you? - Believing in myself and not letting imposter syndrome and/or feelings of perfectionism steal my creativity. I also have a hard time truly seeing my plot. I have no problems creating characters and seeing potential scenes, but I'm struggling currently with truly understanding the beats of my plot. I understand story structure, but when it comes to actually coming up with the beats for the story, I get all jumbled and stressed. I sometimes just struggle to envision my story past my characters which has been stressful.
Space: Where’s your favorite place to write? - The office space in my house. I always turn off the main light and turn on the lamp and sit in the big comfy chair. Recently I haven't been able to write in there because a) it's too hot during the summer, and b) we had to take the door off and haven't gotten a door to replace it and I HATE writing with the door open because I need complete silence to write.
Spirit: What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received on your writing? - I don't really know. One that always sticks out to me is not really my writing on a whole, but I had written a scene and shared it to my creative writing class where I described my character's wet hair sticking to their cheeks like "the gnarled roots of an old tree" and people had shared some really great comments on how I had described things well and everything felt natural, and dialogue was realistic.
Psionics: How do you get into the heads of your characters? - I really struggle with this! I've recently taken up reading into the Enneagrams and assigning them to my characters which has helped me learn how they think and respond, but I'm still learning!
Summer: How do you know when you need a break from writing? - When I start overthinking, crying, and feel like I want to quit it entirely. (I cry about my writing a lot lmao)
Winter: Have you ever written a story based on a holiday?  If yes, which holiday was it for and what was it like? - I wrote one little short story about Halloween. It actually wasn't really "about" Halloween, but it was a cute little love story of these two characters at a Halloween party which resulted in them finally getting together and agreeing to go out for a date.
Spring: Have you ever scrapped (a huge chunk of) a story to start over?  Why did the change come about? - Yes! So this is what I was talking about earlier. Luckily, I haven't started writing yet so I scrapped the idea before I began, but I had two characters I was madly in love with and the one character (Becca) had such potential, but her storyline really didn't make sense with Holly's. Cassian, who was the other character I scrapped and I had planned for Becca to end up with, still makes sense regarding Arrow because they know each other in their pasts, but I still wanted him to end up with Becca so I decided to scrap them both with the idea in mind of either a spin-off book about them or I could re-introduce them as a subplot once I have the main plot truly figured out. My other qualm with Cassian was that I really got the feeling that he only existed as Becca's Love Interest, which really sucked. His story really felt like it was only there BECAUSE I wanted Becca to have a love interest and I want to be able to give him, if I go ahead with their story, to give him a full story that's not dependent on another character's love life.
Fall: Have you ever completely abandoned a WIP?  What led to that decision. - I abandoned a lot of WIP's in high school because I never used to plan back then so I would rush into it and then lose motivation. I have a few plot bunnies in my notes app, but I haven't really started any so I wouldn't say they're abandoned, just on a back burner until I decide I really want to write them. Currently, there's a short story I'm working on but contemplating abandoning because I just don't feel a true passion for it.

what would you name your future kids? - I love the names Gracie, Leila, River, Sadie, and Elowen for girls (however every person that I've mentioned the name Elowen to has hated it intensely lmao) and for boys, I love the names Tatum, Ryder, Atlas, and Spencer.
do you miss anyone? - All the time.
what are you looking forward to? - Gaining more inspiration
is there anyone who can always make you smile? - My mom
is it hard for you to get over someone? - Yes and no. I feel like I love deep and feel deeply, but I haven't been in a situation where I've really had to "get over" someone. I've had my dad pass away so not getting over that is a no-brainer, and I've lost friends, but the only person I've felt it was hard to get over was my childhood best friend but I feel like that's because she's linked with my childhood. I've never gone through the task of getting over someone I dated and loved romantically. So I'm not sure. Maybe
what was your life like last year? - Kind of the same as it is now except I feel like I'm heading into a breakthrough season. That there's something creeping up on the horizon. I didn't have that last year.
have you ever cried because you were so annoyed? - Yes, depending on what happened.
who did you last see in person? - My sister
are you good at hiding your feelings? - I always think I am, but I don't know. I think it shows on my face. I can easily fake my "customer service" face when they're being rude and I have to pretend like I don't mind, but I've heard from many people that they can tell I'm mad or annoyed by my facial expression.
are you listening to music right now? - No
what is something you want right now? - Ice cream ngl
how do you feel right now? - Content, mostly.
when was the last time someone of the opposite sex hugged you? - Never lmao. Idk maybe my grandpa around my birthday, so a few months ago.
personality description - I would say I'm a typical enneagram Type 4, so I'm always thinking with my emotions. I'm loyal, kind, gentle, warm. I long just for the sake of longing most times. I'm introverted, but I'll speak up if I feel comfortable or if I feel like something needs to be said. I'm protective of my friends and family. I'm perfectionistic, creative, an over-thinker, daydreamer.
have you ever wanted to tell someone something but you didn’t? - Yes.
opinion on insecurities. - Can there be an opinion on insecurities? I think they're just there and it's part of being human, but we can outgrow them or move around them, but you can't avoid them.
do you miss how things were a year ago? - No
have you ever been to New York? - No but I'd love to see it one day
what is your favourite song at the moment? - I think All Too Well (10 Min Version) by Taylor Swift
age and birthday? - I'm 24 and I was born March 1
description of crush. - I don't have a crush.
fear(s) - Spiders, loss, death, insignificance, rejection. you know, the usual.
height - 5'2. Maybe 5'3?
role model - Taylor Swift
idol(s) - Taylor Alison Swift
things I hate - Arrogance, raw onions, when writers kill off the hot love interest, when tv shows start off really awesome and take a nose dive, Kanye west for obvious reasons, when my boss turns on the music really loud at work so I can't hear my clients
i’ll love you if… - You can sing Taylor Swift's entire discography to me in chronological order or admit to me that her writing, specifically her imagery and story-telling, is what makes her one of the most prolific songwriters of our generation (I will not be taking any arguments, questions or denials at this time)
favourite film(s) - The Greatest Showman, You've Got Mail, Clueless, Pride and Prejudice (not a huge movie-watcher)
favourite tv show(s) - The Mentalist, Brooklyn Nine Nine, Supernatural
3 random facts - Taylor Swift wrote her third studio album "Speak Now" (2010) all by herself between the ages of 18-21 - Taylor Swift never used to have a country accent, but she put it on when she moved to Nashville because everyone else had one and she wanted to fit in but then when she moved to LA and got settled into her own skin she realized she didn't need it anymore so she just...stopped - Dolphins are actually super violent, especially male dolphins and they'll often kill females and their young
are your friends mainly girls or guys? - Girls
something you want to learn - I want to know how to crochet!
most embarrassing moment - Ok I'm not rehashing my most embarrassing moment but earlier today when I got off work, I tripped on my shoe and I caught myself but it was that humiliating little run when you're trying to catch your balance and I looked over at my co-workers to see if they saw me but they didn't thank god, but then I realized the security guys were on the roof of the mall and witnessed it. (Not my worst, but it still made me want to kill myself)
favourite subject - English
3 dreams you want to fulfill? - Becoming an author - Ending up on a bestsellers list - Going to Edinburgh and pretending I'm a fantasy character about to embark on the greatest loves of all time
favourite actor/actress - I don't know if I have a favourite honestly. I really like Hugh Jackman, Bryce Dallas Howard, and James McAvoy. (Don't know if I'd ever say any of them are my 'fave' tho)
favourite comedian(s) - Again, don't know if I have a favourite, but I really like Jim Gaffigan's comedy
favourite sport(s) - Not a sports person tbh
favourite memory - All my favourite memories are from when I was a kid. I've probably answered this before, but probably Christmas Eve night when I was 8 and we (my family) were driving home from the Christmas Eve Service: it was dark, snowing, and we were all silent, listening to God Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts
relationship status - Single
favourite book(s) - The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen, The Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkowski, The Hating Game & 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne, A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas (don't bully me. I just loved Cassian and Nesta's dynamic too much), The Cruel Prince trilogy by Holly Black, The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon, Crush by Richard Siken. There's too many!!!
favourite song ever - All Too Well (10 Min Version) by Taylor Swift
age you get mistaken for - I've never really run into this issue. I guess I look 20-25. I'm 24, so it's about right.
how you found out about your idol - Hang on this is a story!! I found out about her I think on Youtube or Disney Channel because Teardrops On My Guitar was super popular and I liked it but I wasn't super into Taylor Swift yet. Then when I was in grade 5, Love Story came out, it was on my moms little iPod nano and I LOVED that song so then mom went and bought me the Fearless CD which I was obsessed with the moment I got it, BUT I was still not a fan yet until around Christmas of 2010, I think, where I listened a bunch of the songs from Speak Now on Youtube and I was so fascinated by her songwriting and then I asked for the CD, and then I was in love with her ever since.
what my last text message says - "I'm going to bed" - my mom.
turn ons - Strong hands, someone who loves life, jawlines, confidence
turn offs - Arrogant/Narcissistic, Rude to retail/food workers or just people in general, buzzcuts, country boy, if he's from my hometown bc i live in the yeehaw province of Canada
starsign - Pisces!
something i’m talented at - Writing

How many clocks are in the room you are in? - Zero, except for the one in my phone.
Do you use MSN messenger? - I used to in middle school.
What time will it be in 6 hours? - It'll be almost 5 am I think.
Have you kissed anyone in the last week? - No
Do you enjoy classic rock? - Depends on the song. Generally not my go-to.
Have you ever been told you looked like someone famous? - In passing, but not as a true comment or compliment. When I was in middle school, sometimes I got people that told me I looked like the lead singer from The Band Perry but that was only because I had blonde hair and my hair was slightly curly/wavy from a fading perm lol. (Truly I don't look anything like her)
Are you anemic? - I was in high school. I think I still am, but I'd have to get tested to see.
At Christmas, do you have a fake or a real tree? - Fake, because my mom always said that real trees are too messy and they get sap and needles everywhere lol. I also think fake trees are prettier because they have less gaps between the branches.
Do you usually go watch fireworks on the 4th of July? - Again, I'm not American. (I also don't usually go on Canada Day because I don't have anyone to go with and I kind of don't care)
Do you remember when the game Oregon Trail was really popular? - No
Does anyone have your heart? - A bunch of random fictional men
What did you do last Valentine’s Day? - I think I worked, but even if I didn't, I was probably at home not doing anything.
Can you count to 20 in any other language? - No. I could at one point but definitely not anymore
How old were you in 2001? - 3
In 1973, how many years was it until you were born - or were you born? - 25 I think?
Have you ever had a crush on someone, and found out they liked your friend? - No
Have you ever been liked by someone you didn’t expect would like you? - I'm not sure? There was a guy in high school that I think liked me but that was never confirmed so I only suspected, but I could've been totally wrong. If he did like me, then yes, and only because we were in separate crowds.
Who ended your last relationship? - I've never been in a relationship
How do you feel about that? - I'll answer according to MY last answer lol. It's low-key embarrassing never having dated or even kissed anyone because it makes me feel like there's something wrong with me OR it makes me feel like OTHERS think there's something wrong with me.
Do Mondays get you down? - Not really. I work in retail so Mondays just mean a slower day which means less crazy or rude people.
How long have you been at your current job? - Almost four years which is INSANE. I don't know how I've lasted this long. I've been saying I want to leave for two and half years but it's not the worst job so I've stuck it out until I have a sense of direction of where I actually want to go. Tbh, just as a vent moment, my job wouldn't be so bad if corporate wasn't so strict and then in turn, we didn't have such high-expecting and can't-be-impressed managers.
Have you ever been fired? - No
How many times have you been pulled over by the cops? - Never! I'm so scared of this so I always drive the speed limit even if my mom is riding shot gun and telling me to stop driving like a grandma.
What is your mood like right now? - I feel really upbeat and content for a change.
Where did you go today? - I went out for a quick grocery stop at Co-Op and then about an hour ago I went out for a small walk with my mom around our neighborhood.
Do you know anyone who is pregnant right now? - Not personally, but what a weird/great question
Do you cut the crusts off your sandwiches? - No
Do you prefer sweet or unsweetened tea? - I don't really drink tea but I love sweet things so probably sweet?
Who did you last embarrass yourself in front of? - Oh my god. I don't even want to relive this but I will for the sake of this survey. I had a zoom interview for an editing mentorship and she sent me the wrong email (which is kind of her fault) so I was worried that I had the time wrong so I joined and she was in the middle of another interview and I was so embarrassed and felt so bad. She was cool about it and took fault, but I'm also very blessed to have social anxiety so I, of course, replayed the moment over and over again in my mind and tortured myself with it for nine or ten hours. Maybe to anyone else it wasn't embarrassing, but I was humiliated and so flustered for my actual interview.
Would you rather meet the president or win $500 dollars from the lottery? - Money please.
What was the reason you last smiled? - Joking around with my mom and sister.
A Little About Your Friends List 8 Good Friends: - My guy, I can tell you right now that I don't have eight friends.
Mom
Jen (Sister)
Megan
Mikaela

Book Questions: Part 2
what non-fiction books do you like if any? - Crush by Richard Siken and Little Weirds by Jenny Slate
did you enjoy any compulsory high school readings? - Depending on the book. I found school always chose the most boring readings. The only one I really liked was The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
do you have a goodreads? - Yes, but I rarely use it. I only got on Goodreads if I really want to know a general consensus of a book review if I'm hesitant to buy the book or every now and again I'll update my lists lol
do you ever mark/dog ear books you own? - No because that's rude
recommend and review a book. - The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen. Seriously the best series I've read in a while. Lara, our protagonist, was a bad ass who kicked ass and secondly, Aren was hot and he also kicked ass. I won't go too in depth but basically Lara was trained in isolation to be a warrior since she was a little girl and her entire life's mission is to kill Aren, who is king of the bridge kingdom. In order to do this, she gets into an arranged marriage under a feigned idea of peace between her father's kingdom and aren's kingdom, but as she's thrust into this new world she begins to see the bridge kingdom in a different light than she was taught. It kind of feels like The Cruel Prince meets A Court of Thorns and Roses but better. There's romance, there's angst, there's passion. Arranged marriage meets enemies to lovers. I feel like Lara's character stands out the most in this book because she's literally a warrior, but under the layers of hard exterior, her mission to do what she was told her entire life is literally motivated by the love she has for her sisters and also a result of a limited worldview which was at the hands of her father. in the second book, she really begins to take her fate into her own hands and is 10x more bad ass. 100000/10 please read.
how many books have you read this year? - I don't really know. I feel like at least 20 books, excluding ones I've re-read because I do a lot of re-reading of my favs lol.
top 5 children’s books? - I don't know if I'll have five because I don't remember a bunch but definitely Love You Forever by Robert Munsch, Maximum Ride by James Patterson, The Magic Treehouse books by Mary Pope Osbourne, Charlotte's Web by E.B White, and any Dr. Seuss book
do you like historical books? which time period? - I like historial romances when they're light and funny, generally the Victorian era.
most disliked popular books? - I didn't like the War of Two Queens by Jennifer L Armentrout which was the fourth instalment of the 'From Blood and Ash' series. It actually completely ruined the series for me. I'm also not a huge fan of Colleen Hoover books which a lot of romance readers seem to love. Tbh though, I seem to really like the popular books. I think I'm fairly easy to satisfy in the romance genre. The only times I'm not is if I find the book hard to believe, the characters are cringy, the writing is bad, or the book just gives me the ick (like the war of two queens did lmao)
what are things you look for in a book? - A strong theme or moral of the story; well-written, strong characters, especially the characters that have very compelling stories or internal conflicts; well-written storylines; my favourite tropes (enemies to lovers, hurt/comfort vibes); a good passionate, electric romance that makes me feel cozy inside and lets me escape.

Book Questions Part 1:
book you’ve reread the most times? - There's a few actually. 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne, The Risk by Elle Kennedy, and The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout.
top 5 books of all time? This is so stressful omg. Okay here's my list but in no specific order: - 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne (tbh I love every book by Sally Thorne. Honourable mention: The Hating Game, but I cut it from my list because I love Tom Valeska more...oops) - The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen (from The Bridge Kingdom series. PS. I loved the second book The Traitor Queen just as much as the first one - they tie.) - The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon (from The Bone Season series) - A Crown of Bitter Orange by Laura Florand (La Vie en Roses series) - Faking Normal by Courtney C Stevens (I haven't read this book in a long time, but this story always stands out in my mind because the moral of the story was so strong) (Honourable mentions: The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, the Veronica Speedwell mystery books by Deanna Raybourn)
what is your favourite genre? - If you couldn't tell it's romance. (Currently I'm really into Fantasy Romance, but I also love contemporary romance)
what sections of a bookstore do you browse? - Romance, YA, and poetry mostly, but I also like to look at the reference section for books on writing craft as well.
where do you buy books? - Apple Books, Kindle, and Indigo Chapters
what books have you read in the last month? - The Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle L. Jensen which was the best decision I ever made, The Girl Who Belonged to the Sea by Katherine Quinn (unfortunately I didn't like this book and couldn't finish), The Prison Healer by Lynette Noni, The Plated Prisoner by Raven Kennedy, and unfortunately Hooked by Emily McIntire which was the worst book I have ever read in my entire life. (I'm currently reading The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels by India Holton, but it's the last day of May so does it actually count because I just started it literally this morning.)
is there a series/book that got you into reading? - Maximum Ride by James Patterson and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins were definitely influences, but tbh I used to read Wattpad stories and it just kind of exploded my love for romance and reading.
what is the first book you remember reading yourself? - Going way back to when I was way younger, I remember loving The Magic Treehouse by Mary Pope Osbourne (yes, I had to look that up) and also Robert Munsch books, but the actual books that I think actually influenced me to start reading for fun was definitely Maximum Ride. I was 12 and it was the first time I was reading something that I literally did not want to put down ever.
when do you tend to read most? - Romance, as you can see.
do you have a guilty fav? - A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. People give her slack and I will admit to all the valid points people have made, but that doesn't erase the fact that she writes incredible characters and she also created the love of my life Cassian.

47: cafe-themed
cinnamon latte— would you ever want to dye your hair? if you have before, what color was it and why? - I wouldn't mind dying my hair a rose gold or a soft pink, or even a soft lilac, but maybe even only dying the tips because I'm not super into hair dye. I prefer to just stay blonde lol.
peppermint cappuccino— what’s your favorite genre of movie, tv show, or video game and why? - For movies and TV shows, I like drama, comedy, rom-com, supernatural/thriller, and mysteries. For videos, I prefer RPG simulation games like Detroit: Become Human (my favourite video game lol). I'm not a huge gamer though, so I also like laid back games like Animal Crossing (cue all the misogynistic male-gamers in the background scoffing and laughing)
warm mocha— would you rather be in a sunny field of flowers and grass, or would you rather be in an ambient cafe with rain outside? - Cafe <3
caramel macchiato— do you sleep with stuffed animals? if so, do you have a favorite? - No and tbh I didn't as a kid either, I don't know why. I had stuffed animals, but never slept with them.
vanilla chai— do you have any hobbies that your followers don’t know about? or any hobbies that you once had, but stopped doing? - I don't think I have any hobbies that followers don't know about it. I kind of wanted to find some new hobbies though, like crocheting!
strawberry milk— what’s your way of showing someone you love them, platonically or romantically? - Usually through considerate acts like giving them a gift or through words where I will just outright tell them or write them something.
iced frappe— how quickly do you fall asleep? do you only go to bed when exhausted so you fall asleep quickly, or do you lay in bed with the world on your mind? - I fall asleep too fast lol. Also (and I'm really bad for this) I read on my phone in bed until I'm dead dog tired and can barely keep my eyes open so sometimes I'm awake for a couple hours in bed (if the book is really good, I avoid sleep all together lmao). If I'm not reading on my phone, I can be asleep in 10-30 mins.
hibiscus tea— how often do you stay up all night instead of sleeping? what was the reason you stayed up all night? - Kind of answered this earlier, but I'll stay up all night reading haha. I try not to let myself stay up all night and I force myself to stop, but there are times when I've stayed up way too late because the book was too good.
cold brew— what percent is your phone on right now? -52%
steamed espresso— do you like roller coasters and other thrill rides at amusement parks? why or why not? - Nope. It makes me feel too out of control.
almond milk— would you ever want to plan a road trip with friends? or would you rather visit one area and enjoy what’s there? - I don't know actually. I've always wanted to do a road trip but I also know myself and I know I would most likely not enjoy it. It would have to be a day trip or only over the span of a couple days because I'm such a homebody and an introvert that road trips are super taxing to me and if I don't have enough alone time I start to actually feel really sad, grumpy, and drained.

name a song that you associate with being sad - I Almost Do by Taylor Swift but also Flowers For a Ghost by Thriving Ivory. Both songs give me very vivid flashbacks to when I was super sad. I Almost Do was a song I played in the apartment at the tom baker cancer center in calgary while my dad was in treatment so it was like a comforting-sad and then Flowers For a Ghost was a song I played relentlessly when my dad died so that one is a lot less comforting lol. It's almost hard to listen to.
name a song that you associate with being angry - mad woman by taylor swift
name a song that makes you think about someone you love - You're Beautiful by James Blunt
name a song that makes you think about someone you don’t like - tbh can't think of one right now oops!

is there any song that you mostly like, but there’s one specific part of it that you don’t like as much? if so, what is it? - You Need To Calm Down by Taylor Swift bc it's such a bop but I don't vibe with the lyrics "and we see you other there on the internet / comparing all the girls who are killing it" it just feels kind of awkward to me, but that's just me.
name an album you really love that you haven’t listened to in awhile - Speak Now by Taylor Swift. See also: The 1975 by The 1975

1. What were your summers like as a kid? - Always happy. I spent a lot of time bike riding, swimming and obnoxiously climbing dirt hills with my childhood best friend lol. Our feet would be black by the time the night rolled around and my mom would make us wash our feet with the garden hose. When I wasn't with her, I was going on vacation with my family to Peachland, B.C, but we'd stop at the Enchanted Forest, Revelstoke, Penticton, Banff, Summerland, Kelowna, etc.
2. Do you enjoy thrilling rides like rollercoasters? - No
3. Who was your childhood hero? - I don't know about a childhood hero, but I loved Hannah Montana when I was a kid so I had hannah montana everything.

22. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve seen someone do in public? - When I was at work, I was helping a lady find a deodorant. Now she was already a little on the eccentric side, but I was showing her one of our Donna Karan deodorants and usually our deodorant testers are so you can SMELL them, but this lady full-on applied that bad boy to her pits. I was literally speechless and I didn't know what to do so I just stood there and let it happen.

To be fair, my dad had just died so not only was I going through teenage angst but also the stress of grief and I didn't really know how to cope properly or in a functional way. I think grade twelve things started to get better, but from grades nine to eleven, it was rough. I also never liked school period so there was that always underlying it.
27. Who is the craziest person in your family and why? - My SISTER (with peace and love). My sister is really funny and she does the craziest things and says the craziest things. If you mean legitimately The Craziest, it's my uncle because he's a little...out there.

Outer Banks was pretty good but the main blonde chick drove me nuts because she was always yelling JOHN B every five seconds and I just could. not. do. it. Doctor Who I only watched because everyone else had been watching it at the time. I got through half a season and I did enjoy a few episodes here and there and I liked the characters, but I'm not a sci-fi fan at all, so it was hard for me to be fully invested.
32. What song is stuck in your head? - Forever Winter by Taylor Swift
33. Do you like exercising? - No
34. Do you scare easily? - Not overly. I get unnerved fast I think, but not really scared.

43. What would you be most likely to become famous for? - Writing probably
44. Do you have a favorite quote? - I have so many favourite quotes. It's almost Christmas so a Christmas themed one is: "May you never be too grown up to search the skies on Christmas eve."
