A question for artists and makers...

Say someone wants to commission you an excellent sum to make them a custom piece. While working on said piece the person shares that they don't actually like your work and wants their piece to be a completely different medium/style. Would you still do it?

(In my case the commissioner straight up told me they didn't like my digital work because it's digital even though they wanted a custom piece of my art (which is primarily fucking digital???). I'm feeling highly insulted and would love nothing more than to tell them to fuck themselves but they sent me a large deposit and poverty is a bitch. I feel like my basic needs and integrity are in a fight to the death currently.)

Which ... I don’t know, AM I disappointed? For a budget consisting of 56 cents and a dual-pack of string cheese, I think it’s actually pretty smart. A simple cut out with some superimposed elemental effects, and boom, done. It communicates all the necessary basic information, and could be completely finished while waiting for a single cup of coffee to brew. I admire efficiency and making the most of practically nothing.

On the other, we’re JUST in the age of computer animation becoming somewhat accessible to everyone which means it’s overused and often hideous and by the gods did I want to see every horrific inch of that that beautiful disaster.
