for a spoiler — pre-situationship lucemond and jace once took (read: were sent by their moms on) a road-trip to pick aegon up from rehab. aegon, not wanting to go back to king's landing, gave them the address of one in dorne that'd been closed for a decade. luke has so many photos of jace kneeling in the desert from when they found out, in dorne 💀 (aegon was in the riverlands)

(footage from luke's phone, circa 5 years before the events of lsts: a shaky zoom in of jace, many yards away, staring off into the distant dunes with a defeated stance. aemond's voice, flat: "this is fucked up." camera pans to him, looking disgruntled and ridiculous in sunglasses, zinc, and a protective hat)

ngl daemon's real-time reaction to the pregnancy news fell a bit out of the story's scope while i was writing lmao 😭 i promise him being more relegated to the background has a purpose! for those curious, daemon probably would've condescendingly chuckled at them if he was there 💀

alyssa still dies when daemon is fairly young because i think something like losing a parent significantly alters a character and how i portray them, and the age it happens matters too, so i tried to keep certain deaths in line with canon! for the same reason laena still dies when rhaena and baela are about 6 (and daemon only waits 6 months to marry rhaenyra, which is still outrageous by modern westerosi standards 🫠). same with the velaryon boys and harwin dying around the same time as them "losing" laenor — though that'll be explored more later :)

I’m also not including Harper/Helena/Kate because quite frankly idk where they stand it’s kinda inconsistent to me because they seem to rely on the plot more so than like objective skill (and tbh I think Kate’s skill is kinda op and weird in universe she like didn’t even finish military school 😭) and I’m not putting Damian here because he’s baby so it’s not really fair just know as an adult he should be better/equal to Dick but rn he’s baby

1. Cass : obv though I will say I think writers need to not be scared to let her lose just because she knows what someone’s gonna do doesn’t mean she can stop them. Also she can’t literally read minds emotions like I’m putting her here but honestly I think writers should nerf her a bit so they’ll like. Actually write her instead of just putting her in fighting/emotional support scenes like. Not gonna write an essay here but someone should because her fighting skills is kinda the writers crutch instead of like. Her character 😭

2. Dick : it just makes sense. In universe he’s supposed to be the best I’m sorry the entire point of his character in regards to how the entire family views him is comparing themselves to him and save for Damian when he’s older it really doesn’t make sense for anyone to be a better athlete than him period. Like he’s 2nd for reasons in universe and out

3. Jason : truthfully I wanted to put B here but honestly I do think Jason is probably a better fighter at this point and whilst I’m not anti Tim in this regard Jason does body him every time 😭 I’m not entirely sure it’s like. Earned but yeah he can have this ig. Man died I’ll give him third place

4. B : I know I know we all love to hate him but honestly I don’t think the next couple people have ever been written consistently as better fighters then him (or would it actually make sense tbh).

4. Babs : ok so cheating here but I’m gonna go ahead and like tie Bg Babs w B they’re about the same obv she can’t fight as well as him as Oracle which is fine she was never the best fighter and is textually and narratively a better hero as Oracle. But they’re also equals so she’s here ok

5. Tim : look if DC allowed him to grow up I’d put him above B but on a narrative level I’m not sure he’s actually presented as his equal consistently or DC has even committed to it and truthfully I’m not really sure he’s a better fighter than anyone above him like this isn’t me being mean to Tim I’m just being honest like B and Babs? Maybe but anyone else? No not really

6. Ok so I went back and fourth here on Duke or Steph and I’m gonna put Steph if only because Steph just seems more scrappy to me but honestly they’re tied it really doesn’t matter it’s kinda relative this is where I’d place like. Any other batfam member too (Harper, Bette, ect) as in their skills are entirely dependent on who’s writing them and hasn’t really been consistently flushed out yet. It’s just. Not top 5 agsfdhsry

Anyways, i personally read that as Jaime being uninterested in the kid because let's be real... newborns are annoying, he felt useless because he felt he couldn't do anything for the child, and he was casting a barrier between him and his children because he'd never be seen as a father to them (which doesn't make him neglecting them okay just to be clear...Only to understand his motives)

Even if I'm wrong, the "he's jealous of his son bc he spends time with his lover's boobs what an idiot" is also a stupid interpretation imo, bc it doesn't make sense. Why must everything be read literally? especially when we're talking about a character whose thoughts + words aren't always meant to be taken seriously, because hes usually talking shit and doesn't mean it. And it's weird af that Jaime is judged because of his thoughts but it's okay for Cersei to be dreaming about marrying Rhaegar while manipulating Jaime into thinking he's her one true wuv because omg!!! I think it does have a happy ending for said main character based on the title but not a fluffy one and she isn't getting with that friend I'm p sure] Amelia: [In clearer terms, this is a book about Marin, a girl who has lost her grandfather, and in doing so, pushed away her former best friend, Mabel. So when Mabel comes to town, Marin does not know what to do with the memories. Marin at once does not want Mabel here, regrets her being here, but also desperately wants Mabel to love her. She has walls up and she wants them down, but she is too terrified for them to ever come down. Marin has lost everything, including Mabel, her best friend and her maybe-something-more.  But it’s not a romance between Marin and Mabel. That is what is perhaps the saddest part. I once saw Nina LaCour talk live about this book, and she said something that perfectly sums up what is so arresting about this book: being queer and in love with your best friend is different than being straight and in love with your best friend. One is an experience in first love, and one is also that, but with an added experience of fear – not of rejection but of disgust. We do not want to hurt our best friends by loving them. We have learned to be ashamed of love and we carry that with us, through thick and through thin. Then before s3 she said that during s2b (which was 2 eps after finn died) C was in love with L and she broke her heart in 2x15 (when she left her in MW). Then when L died she said the same thing what she said with Finn tho obv it was stronger because of L drama (idn what do you know but during season 3 the fandom was just.. terrible. everything was terrible. ive never been in fandom that shitty as t100 back) 3x16 i love you CL scene was added 1 or 2 weeks before it was airing because of the season 3 drama. But she knows the fandom that actually cares abt the 100 is bellarke fandom so she should at least say sth in more professional way with “well, i don’t know i don’t write the show” thats legit it. not calling us shit would be nice i guess? i know its been a year. i dislike also a situation where a bellarke fan asked her in 2016 at con in australia about her n bob nomination for best chemistry in teen choice and was booed yet she didn’t do anything. instead of saying to ppl who booed the fan (who didnt do a thing just brought up bob lmao her co worker) “hey guys please be respectful” whatever tbh she laughed and said “i wont say anything more in case they [pointing at ppl who booed the fan] are mad”. i dislike that she never ever defended anyone from the cast when they were attacking during s3 (especially bob daily but also joseph or sachin or linz or everyone). when cls were attacking nadia’s twitter acc only because nadia said in interview that “luna is stronger than L” and they sent her legit death threats all E did was tweet to nadia’s twitter acc “pls stop pretending to be nadia. she doesn’t have a twitter” (apparently the twitter wasn’t nadia’s but does it really matter when they sent death threats and that’s legit the only thing e did?) once again maybe she was told to not say anything during this drama. i still tho hate a lot of things she has done (or didn’t while she should have in my opinion).  ok in the end in conclusion - thats my opinion and thats it im sure a lot of ppl have similar one n im sure a lot of people would disagree with me. i dont care really, i just don’t stan her, ive never sent anything rude to her but i don’t need to be her fan i guess. thats it. thanks :)
