@patroklides || “Now, what’s this problem you need help with?“ from hubert Inuyasha starters.
Tumblr media
❝ Huh—  I can’t recall mentioning a thing about having a problem. ❞    Airy and light, his voice floats as if entirely carefree.  As if Yuri thinks it could be amusing, even, that Hubert happens to know he’s got a problem that he’s working on at the moment—  only, that’s not how it is at all, and just beneath the entirely pleasant facade Yuri bears, there is irritation.
Tumblr media
❝ You must have heard from one of our mutual friends!  Fortunately, it’s not of any real concern, ❞    he continues, smiling politely as he does, a flourish of his hand attempting to dismiss the thought that it might be something worth discussing.    ❝ With how devoted you are to your cause, I can only imagine how much you must have on your plate.  I wouldn’t dare shame myself by dumping my personal problems upon you as well. ❞

bit of a writeblr update because it's been a hot minute
as yall may know from previous posts, my coursework has been tossed around and my university isn't handling it great. my certificate got superseded, then superseded again like two weeks later, and my university is upgrading all the provided units so that us students are given the up-to-date qualification and criteria.
it's been slow as fuck. it keeps getting delayed, my class went online and the teacher hasn't shown up for practical workshops in nearly two months for various reasons. i thought i'd have everything sorted by march. i've been told it should be finalised in may, but im not hopeful. either way, im gonna keep chugging along with what i'm doing and get my current units finished, and we'll see what happens.
but enough about my homework -- i've been developing another story idea. i dont know if it's gonna be long enough to be called a novel. plot-wise, im still coming up with actual events that need to happen, but i have IDEAS, and a setting, and a tone, and characters.
and, unlike the enby werewolf novel WIP i'm currently drafting (https://prokyon.tumblr.com/post/670992004525752320/my-wip-and-other-stuff), i have a title:
Honey Dogs
"the post-apocalyptic australian honey cartel story" is how i've been describing it so far. with the development of the full plot, i'll eventually be able to give yous an actual synopsis.
Centering Indigenous Australian characters (specifically Murri, like myself) in regional QLD after the State has abandoned the people, this story features our protagonist*: a postal courier and beekeeper who takes care of a manuka tea tree orchard. Protagonist is one of the people keeping various regional anarchist communes connected in a Capricornia solidarity network -- their work includes delivering letters, packages, medicine, etc across the Great Dividing Range as part of a postal relay team. When Protagonist isn't busy with mail or exploring abandoned buildings, they're a caretaker of a honey orchard that supplies coveted manuka honey as a sweetener, condiment, and medicinal ingredient to local townships. Inspired by real-life manuka honey turf wars, I plan to use the concept of honey cartels as a source of conflict and drama between Protagonist's community and pro-State gangs who want to return the world to the pre-apocalypse status quo.
It's gonna be very queer, very anti-colonialist, VERY solarpunk. I'm going to experiment with my writing craft a bit, working on setting tone and alluding to some vaguely supernatural vibes. Small town spookiness and drama, hopefully authentically reflecting my experiences living semi-isolated in regional QLD.
Feel free to drop questions about this project in my ask box! I've also set up a new channel in my writing WIP discord https://discord.gg/FCneba8X8V where I'll be sharing memes and rambles about this project alongside the enby werewolf story.
*Yall may have noticed i'm being vague about referencing the main character. That's because I don't have a name for them yet! For once, I don't have a solid picture of who any the Honey Dogs characters are, aside from their habits and roles in the story. I have a feeling about their personalities, but I'm not solid on any of their identities. Very unlike how I started with The Legend of MoonMoon -- but at least this time I have a real title lmao
