He lets out a low, tired sigh at the Captain’s teasing. It’s nothing new at this point, but... It’s still a bit frustrating, too. 

“Yes, sir. If I fetch some extra, will you sign at least some of the paperwork?” A compromise, perhaps. If he can’t get it all signed, even just a few pages would be better than nothing. Not to mention infinitely better than forging the signature too.

Izuru listens, and supposes that really, he shouldn’t be surprised. He should have known that he wouldn’t get the answers he’s wanting, just because he came to ask. The Captain had never bothered to tell him much of anything before, so why would he start now?

Izuru hates Captain Ichimaru. He loves Captain Ichimaru. He...

“I may not get my answers, but I’ll still ask. Why? Why do all of that? Why not take me with you? You know that I would have followed you anywhere, had you asked. So why?”

He feels a little bit better, just for having the chance to ask these questions at all. Even if he knows that he won’t get the answers that he wants. Being able to voice them is better than holding them in, maybe.
