Another man decided to tell me what he thought about my choice of clothing today. He told me I looked too exposed. He said, as a man, he doesn’t mind, (because obviously seeing more skin is more appealing to his penis senses) but as a friend, he thinks it’s too much skin.

When have I ever asked for any approval of any sort? Mmmmmmm never.

But I don’t really understand it. You would accept it from a woman you didn’t know, because you think skin is sexy. If a friend did it (we aren’t friends btw) it became distasteful.

I don’t understand. Can’t your friend be sexy too? Or is it that if you see a woman showing some skin, she immediately becomes an object of sex? Does it then mean that she is less respected? Because of a halter back top?

Homie, I got accepted into university to study engineering. I got A’s and distinctions in shit like physics and pure mathematics at A levels. 2100 in SAT’s. And I’m an artist/musician because I CHOSE to be that despite my capacities in science.

So yea. Respect me in my halter back top. Cuz I got way more substance than my body, and I have a lot more going on for myself.

I change my look a lot. And as it changes I get a lot of comments that are like "aw, I liked your other {insert: hair, makeup, weight whatever}". Bitch, I don't care WHAT you like. When I cut my hair or put in extensions, or dye it bright ass pink or neutral blond it is a PERSONAL decision. The only time I want to hear your opinion on my looks (read: something that is extremely personal) is when I ask you for your opinion. And the people I ask usually don't say insensitive things, go figure. What is this culture of having to look as appealing as possible to other people? Does my notion of beauty count? Or what if I don't want to look 'beautiful?' Does that matter? Please leave me alone and let me do whatever I CHOOSE to do with my looks.
