This is not a call-out post, and I would just like to preface that I cannot force anyone to change their art style or personal perception of what the 31 Minutos characters would look like as humans. I believe that all art is worthy of existing and that art talent cannot be "wasted," no matter how I or another person feels towards it.

But, OH MY GOD, I am BEGGING 31 Minutos artists who humanize the characters to remember that Tulio, Juan Carlos, and Juanin (as well as several other characters) are not young by any means. The three men are all generally in the same age range, and if we consider that Tulio is old enough to have a niece who is a young adult, that would mean the three of them are all most likely in their FORTIES or, more likely, FIFTIES. These men are not the young, smooth, and petite guys so many of you draw them as. They are men who are growing old, becoming grey, and have wrinkles.

As mentioned, I cannot make people change their designs or stop them from imagining the characters however they may, but it's really frustrating to see so many human designs of the 31 Minutos characters and the ones who are clearly older than the rest lack any signs of aging. People aging is not bad, older people existing is not bad, your faves being on the older side is not bad. Please, even just adding some wrinkles would make all these character designs/gijinkas more pleasing to look at. Deaging the three of them is such a big problem in this fandom and I'm not going to pretend it doesn't exist anymore, it's becoming annoying.

This is a bit of a vague, broad request (so sorry about that!) but do you have any more info on the Dappletail extended family that hasn’t made it to our ears yet? Any masterposts about them or about individual cats like Darkstripe? I loved the Cricketclaw post a lot and I’d love to see more of these complicated goobers!

Sure! But it won't be comprehensive-- I need to make them a whole post like I did for the Dragonkin family over in RiverClan.

I've been calling them Dapplekin lately, but if we zoom out a little further, I've been calling the whole family the "Tawnyrain" line. I think we could call them Rainkin for the example here.

The Rainkin family descends from Rainfur and Tawnyspots. Tawnyspots is now the FATHER of Dappletail and Thrushpelt, bringing him in line with the statement that he was an old deputy when he retired.

Tawnyspots was an old friend of Sunstar. I imagine he also had a ton of apprentices, he was a responsible and nurturing kind of guy.

Rainfur was gorgeous. She was light golden with those lighter "dapple" stripes you see in Dappletail and her kits.

She is also where the humor came from. She loved the CORNIEST jokes. For some reason I just find it very funny that every cat in BB whose prefix is "Rain" gets a sense of humor.

Tawnyspots: "Hey Rainfur!! What did the tired honeysuckle say to the oak? Leaf me alone I'm bushed!"

Rainfur: (WHEEEEEZE)

The family gets the mane from Tawnyspots.

They were just NICE people, y'know? I think Bluestar looks back at them fondly, they were like the super sweet neighbors in the apartment next to you who would bring over extra food in old, stained tupperware.

And that extended to their kids. Dappletail and Thrushpelt are extremely meaningful to Bluestar, the both of them are sweet as overripe blackberries.

Dappletail has a really BAD case of resting bitchface. I channel a bond villain when I draw her or think of her voice.

She loves telling stories and explaining things, because she is good at it.

When Ravenkit and Dustkit's mother died and their uncle was extremely sick, and she'd just lost Featherkit and Darkstripe skeddadled with Graykit, she looked after them.

I think Ravenpaw's love of storytelling comes from her. Unfortunately though, she gave him a great power, as a kid he had a bad habit of Making Shit Up.

It definitely comes from Dappletail, who never says "I don't know." She will hypothesize, speculate, and seek answers, but doesn't use idk.

"Dappletail, where is the tunnelbun?"

"I saw it last shift, Graystripe had it. He probably took it."

Her kits all actually have the same biofather. I don't know who it is though, I imagine she met him after Rosetail told her a secret story about her honor sire in Chelford, but it might be a Clan cat. But he's monochrome gray; all of her kits are the same color as him.

THRUSHPELT meanwhile, ALSO a ball of sunshine,

I wrote a joke about him saying howdy ONCE and it became a core memory. Guy who says howdy.

Thistleclaw: "THIS IS ENGLAND WHY ARE YOU SAYING HOWDYYYY"

"Well howdy doody thistleclaw"

"AUUUGH"

He definitely says Hello in some weird way. Guy who answers the phone with Yellow. Man who says shucks unironically

And then surprises you by being one of ThunderClan's strongest fighters. If you swear in his good Christian Minecraft server he'll fucking gut you

Dappletail is not the stronger twin. Thushpelt is as thick as a twig but you get in a fight with him and you hear Dark Souls

That's part of why Bluestar could never allow ThunderClan to get taken over by Thistleclaw. The strongest fighter... goes on the front lines.

Moonflower was the strongest fighter too, once.

Unlike Dappletail, Thrushpelt also never needed to know the full story. Bluemoon ADORED him. If she was ever about to overshare for his sake, with the thought that he deserved to know, he would stop her.

"If I should know it, I will learn it in StarClan."

When Bluestar picked her first deputy, she knew it had to be him.

And he was a fantastic deputy, and a great uncle. Super supportive guy, calls you Sport and ruffles your mullet.

He got taken out a few weeks after Featherkit, which was devastating to Dappletail. She is comforted, however, by the idea that Thrushpelt can look after her.

I got into Cricketclaw and Darkstripe recently so I'll try not to repeat too much

Cricket and Dapple were actually extremely upset that Graystripe halted the fight over his kits.

Cricketclaw especially, she doesn't give a shit about Crookedstar and his sadness, she would have invited him to Cry About It, "MY nespring"

Dapple is 50% more diplomatic; "Silverstream is gone. Stormkit and Featherkit's family is here."

Feathertail's name makes them both Emotional, she actually has a tail pattern a lot like Dappletail's

On that note, yeah. They both did not want Featherpaw and Stormpaw to go back. They were both actually pretty upset about it

Cricketclaw got in a FIGHT with Mistyfoot for saying they could go home

How dare you even SUGGEST that actually, go back to the Clan that WANTED TO EXECUTE THEM???

I don't think Cricket could compose herself enough to say goodbye, and she was FURIOUS at Featherpaw for taking the offer. Her final words to them was probably just at Stormpaw alone;

"Don't let your sister decide your whole life for you. You'll always be OUR family."

I don't think Stormpaw actually appreciated it much. Stop making this harder! I know this is a bad idea! I have to be there for Featherpaw when this shit all goes south, god damn it!!

Dappletail and Graystripe are sad but supportive of the twins' choice. Cricketclaw is maaaad

And Stormfur and Feathertail... man

Feathertail sees the good in everything, to a fault. She believes it will all work out if we stick together, and that everything that happens is meant to be.

Stormfur does not agree

He watched his whole ass mentor get wasted, PARTIALLY by his uncle.

He saw people he thought where his friends watch his execution, some curious, some cheerful. All of them just watching.

People don't die clean. His blood didn't anoint the earth, it just gushed and choked. There's no such thing as a noble murder

Everyone rejects the Dishonor Title they gave Stonefur, saying that Tigerstar was not ordained by StarClan.

Stormfur doesn't see how that matters. The stars watched, too.

It was Deerfoot, Swansong, Jaggedtooth, Wetfoot, Mosspelt, and others who saved him... and it was normal cats, just like them, who built the Bonehill

So again; what does it matter that Tigerstar wasn't given the authority by StarClan to change his name?

His mentor was named Heartworm. And that is the only angel he prays to.

If they hadn't gone back to RiverClan, Feathertail never would have been chosen for the journey. Never would have died.

And the destruction of the Forest killed his family in ThunderClan. Devastated them. Even Graystripe was taken.

So when Leopardstar nodded at the "sign" Mothwing claimed she saw, when RiverClan hardened in TNP, and when it kicked out the pawful of Tribe cats who had come to help these ingrates get set up in a new territory...

He was done with Clan Culture. There was nothing left here, for him.

I don't even plan for him to be in love with Brook yet, going to the Tribe was about getting the fuck away from all this.

Yes Feathertail's grave is there too, but I think his feelings are super complicated.

Cricketclaw was right, he let her decide his life, and because of her he didn't get to say goodbye to his family. He would have been in ThunderClan, maybe even been able to save some of them.

At the Tribe, he lives in the Cave Ward. The least populated ward, and practically a temple-town.

At first he thought he would be more of a hunter, but he quickly learned he really doesn't like how you hunt in the highlands. It's a VERY leggy activity, lots of hiking, running, coordination. It was different than he expected.

Anyway I'll stop there because I could write an SE on how Stormfur adjusts after his immigration and I would actually be interested in doing it. Like, really take the chance to show how the BB!Tribe works and explore the feelings of moving to a new place.

It's a theme that's personal to me as a writer tbh.

Graystripe meanwhile... he never gets over Silverstream. Not even with Millie. I don't think he realizes it, but he really is always looking for the glimpse of himself in a happier timeline

And boy oh boy does it fuck up his next litter.

I've spoken about them all before and I plan to collect it all in one place at some point, but briefly,

Graystripe can't ever take a side when Millie treats Briarlight poorly, and just ends up enabling Millie's ableism

Millie is frantic over Briarpaw's injury, and says some AWFUL things right to her face, making the entire situation about herself

But Graystripe will be like, "your mother says things she doesn't mean :( she loves you, you know"

He can't deal with the possibility of losing Millie, too. Or any of his kids. It's something that Briarlight and Blossomfall come to realize, with time and wisdom.

Bumblestripe meanwhile... he's not really smart enough to ever realize that. He just keeps breaking himself on trying to get Graystripe to see him

But Gray is ALWAYS seeing his first litter, and comparing them. No milestone goes by where he's not cheerfully bringing up some story of how their older siblings were, how he wishes they could see them.

That's where he goes, in the end. After extreme carnage from the Impostor, Graystripe decided that he wanted to spend the last of his life with Stormfur in the mountain.

(Graystripe's Vow is now Ferncloud's Parting, FERNCLOUD is gonna go confront her brother)

Thankfully, Briarlight had her mentor Honeysnake to help her realize her worth... but Blossomfall and Bumblestripe meander for meaning into really toxic, dangerous places for their whole lives.

Blossomfall trains in the Dark Forest because she feels so alienated and disconnected from the Clan at large, only stopping in the BOTTE in the last wave when she faces up against Briarlight

She confronts Briar, and she just... cocks her eyebrow. "ILL END YOU" "no you won't."

Squirrelflight actually tried to tell Bramblestar to make an exception with his Dishonor Titles for the DF trainees, realizing that that Blossomfall's problem was alienation.

She wanted Blossomfall to be put into a Secondary Apprenticeship, specifically for the Construction Patrol since Dustpelt was killed. Something where she'd see her work pay off, and she'd be helping to take care of the Clan.

But Bramblestar rejected it, because it would be unfair. If everyone else is getting Dishonor Titles she will get one too; she shouldn't be REWARDED for what she did. It's a punishment.

So she was Shredbloom for a while. None of her problems were addressed and she ended up joining The Kin later, eventually being rescued by Heathertail and her plan.

Returning to ThunderClan was on her family's vouch, bringing the kits she'd given birth to in The Kin with her, and she was on THIN ICE

She mouthed off at the Impostor in typical Blossomfall fashion once, early in his reign, and she got hit with a DEVASTATING second Dishonor Title; Clearface.

"Because it would be better off if we could see right through her."

Bumblestripe became one of the Impostor's favorite lackeys, exploiting his failed relationship and resentment of Dovewing

Briarlight was murdered in the dog attack that Sparkpelt barely survived, and Stemleaf is killed in the assassination attempt on the Impostor.

Bumblestripe accompanies the old people, Ferncloud, Cloudtail, and Graystripe, during Ferncloud's Parting. He says goodbye to his dad in the mountain, and finally meets the Famous Stormfur...

And learns that he's just some fucking guy.

You live your whole life trying to hold up to this standard of a distant, unknown brother in the mountains, and then you learn he was Just A Dude all along.

He went further south with Cloudtail and Ferncloud too, to make sure they were safe. They are old and it is a long journey.

And that's where they all are to the current point of BB! In ThunderClan, the active Rainkin Family is Bumblestripe, Blossomfall, Plumstone, and Shellfur, and all of them want to support Spotfur as she raises Stemleaf's children.

They refer to themselves as "Graykin" currently; their last relevant ancestor. In Clan Culture, families tend to split at a grandparent or great-grandparent.

Which of your TMayNT pieces were your favorites to do?

As far as my own stuff goes -- I always have a good time with traditional art, so Day 16 and Day 21 were a lot of fun! And I also like making simple little animations, so I enjoyed doing Day 24 as well!

As far as others' art... I'm so awful at picking favorites, so I hope you don't mind that I'm just gonna have to list a whole bunch again! I'll put that under a cut, because it's gonna be lengthy. (And I don't really know if people like being tagged when I mention their stuff, or if they find it annoying... so, um... sorry if it's the latter!)

As an appreciator of traditional art, I really liked seeing @strawberry-ren's drawings -- especially Leo and April! They're beautiful drawings, and are colored so incredibly well!

@kesoyotes has a really pretty artstyle! It's very vibrant and clean, if that makes sense. I particularly liked April and Donnie!

@artsybun's art was all so good! I really liked this Leo drawing, this one of the turtle tots, and this one of 2012 Splinter... and THIS MASTERPIECE, of course!! I love that particular drawing so so so much!

@annaliearts also had some incredible pieces! I especially loved this '03 Donnie, and this one of '03 Splinter with the baby turtles. I mean, just look at Splinter's face!! And those precious babies!

And speaking of baby turtles -- there were SO MANY good turtle tot drawings for day 4! I loved this one by @cacutus, with the baby turtles sleeping all over their Dad! And this one by @sky317, because just look at Mikey's little face! And Raph in the teapot! I loved this one by @sad-leon, because I adore the way they draw their little expressions so much! And idk how to explain it, but like... their positioning, I guess? The way Leo's leg is just plopped down over Donnie like that -- it's the cutest thing! And I really liked this one by @sariphantom -- look at the babies' faces!! Leo sticking his tongue out, and tiny Donnie being so angry! I also really liked this one by @vdragon-creations (which was for day 11, but it does also include baby turtles)! The way '03 Splinter is looking at the babies -- ohh, my heart!! He loves them so much!!

There were so many good Aprils as well! I adore the way April is holding Mayhem in this one by @temva, and the coloring in this one by @just-another-tired-gay-artist is so cool! And I love both the perspective and background in this one by @matryoshkalex.

I love @frosteaart's coloring style so much! The lighting is beautiful, and it makes each scene so... is aesthetic the right word? Like, I want to flip through a whole art book full of it! I particularly liked the drill, Karai, and this Insane in the Mama Train redraw.

I also loved a lot of @heck-theo's art! If I had to make a short list, I'd say this one of Mikey with Draxum, and this one of Mikey with Splinter, because I just love the way he's hugging/holding his dads! And then this one of April, and this Evil League of Mutants scene, because they're both exceptional art pieces!

I also love anything that makes me laugh, so this tech-bo drawing by @hoodiehorizon, and this one by @cookieturtle26 are on that list! They make me smile!

I really enjoyed seeing all of the collages by @boxfullaturtles, especially Splinter, Shelldon, and Leatherhead!

I also loved the coloring on this Leo by @kurashikimisaki, the style of these Leos by @neon-mega-turtle, and this little Beebop & Rocksteady GIF by @jadetheblueartist... and probably a whole lot more that I just can't remember right now because there is just SO MUCH good art!!

Can I ask you where have you found inspiration for your art? For example I've noticed you have a very specific (and beautiful) way you draw jewelry and clothing. The shapes are very organic yet grounded at the same time, give a bit of a Nausicaä vibes, as well as art noveau meets iron age.

Honestly I could go on and on about the beautiful details of your art but I don't want to seem too fangirlish :D

Ohhh thank you I love those comparisons 🧡 Because I didn't even know those are the vibes I was going for but yeah that's great actually... This is like when one of you made a playlist inspired by my art... (I still have that saved btw! 🧡 And I still cannot believe!!). Here's a little Rhiam drawing with some jewelry she doesn't (yet) have in canon (earrings she does have but she cannot use them yet)

But what are my inspirations hmmmmmmm many! Idk even what all I have inhaled into my art but I try to list something (this got long so rest under cut):

Nature 🌿 I love both mundane (sparrows, plants growing from asphalt cracks, moss covered street signs... the little details) and grand formations that fill me with awe. There's something about things so vast that take my breath away. Like oceans, mountains, high cliffs, endless tundra, wind so strong you could lean against it, ancient stone that has been scraped visible by massive sheets of ice thousands of years ago. (But I'm guilty of not being that impressed by conventional beauty of average gardens. Aren't people tired of only finding planted blooming flowers beautiful!). Most often I'm drawing inspiration from nature familiar to me, that being Nordic/Scandinavian ones.

I already said nature but birds deserve a special mention! Agh I just love those funky little animals 🦅

Stories! I love making stories, I think they help me grasp and go over my thoughts. I love pouring myself into my characters, it makes them feel both personal but also makes it easier to talk about myself to my fellow storytellers. I'd love to do a long graphic novel or write a book one day, but I also love making ttrpg stories just for and with our little group 🧡 For a long time I felt kinda bad that I wasn't doing "real art" that wasn't just illustrations of my characters. But then I realised doing art for arts sake doesn't really inspire me. I don't want to do art that I'd think would be easily consumable nor do I have any great performance to create with my art. I just love to illustrate stories and tell stories through my art and I think that's great! I still love seeing and experiencing artworks that aren't this illustrative, I just don't have the motivation to do that myself. But I can get really excited of works like Emma Jääskeläinen's granite sculptures!

Other artists! There are two categories I think: 1) those whose work I've seen (usually irl) and whose technique or themes or symbolism facinates me. I usually don't want to create similar art, or replicate their style, or medium even. But there's something about them, a feeling of awe or they feel formidable. Or there's something clever about them that lets me have this sense of epiphany. For example, Jääskeläinen who I already mentioned, Marcel Dzama, Merja Palin, Helena Vaari, Marika Mäkelä, to name a few I've seen lately-ish. And then 2) there are artists whose stories and/or style inspires me and influences my art. One of the biggest inspirations to my softer line art style was and is @albabbgg. @serpentface has some really cool worldbuilding and designs, I think they were also a great influence to how I draw bodies these days. @wiltkingart has also very cool shapes and genders in his paintings. @sanctus-ingenium 's stories and art have been a huge inspiration lately. And to list a few others now that I started: @pangur-and-grim/@greer-art, @beidak-art, @elemei, @emilylorange, @pansylair, @cy-lindric, @psrj, @lokorum

jeongyeon & chaeyoung: 5-6 years

as unusual as it was, almost half of the group was regressed and although they all get along (at least most days), inevitably they shared different amounts of closeness with each other, a lot of times just because their personalities match.

jeongyeon and chaeyoung shared a rather boisterous and outgoing personality, while sana and momo just tended to be more on the quiet side, spending most of their time on their own world; even when one or both of them happened to having a non-verbal day, they'd still understand each other and make it work.

the four of them were hanging out in the dorm living room, the quiet kids on one side just drawing and coloring while the louder kids (who were regressed a bit older) were watching stuff on youtube, that's how they came across some videos of people pranking and scaring their beloved ones.

"chaeng, do you wanna see something funny?" a lightbulb appeared on jeongyeon's mind. "YES, what is it?" chaeyoung said excited and curious as jeongyeon typed something on the search bar and turned the volume all the way up.

the shortest one followed her buddy's line of sight to where the mentally younger girls and watched with rapt atention as sana shrieked due to the sudden thunder sound coming from the device.

momo looked up to see her best friend/sister terrified covering her ears with slow tears falling from her eyes, the older between the two of them rushed her way beside the scared girl to hug her. " 's otay tatang, momoring 's here".

just as she finished saying that she heard the girls laughing from the other side of the room. momo turned her head to glare at them as she guided sana to one of the rooms and once she was a bit more calm, the older one went out of the room looking for one of the caregivers.

she spotted jihyo and pulled her hand "hyo, tatang tatang" momo tried to explain, the shorter sensed her uneasiness and made her way to the room momo was pointing to.

once she took care of that, she marched her way into the living room where jeongyeon and chaeyoung were still laughing. momo approached them tightening one of her hands into a fist as she frowned. "not funny" she claimed and reach to take jeongyeon's phone from her hand. "hey, give that back" jeongyeon said trying to take it from momo's hand, seeing as she wouldn't get it any time soon, she pushed the younger one "i said give. that. back." it was an awful idea as momo still had her hand in a fist and she didn't think about it twice before swinging her hand straight into jeongyeon face; unfortunately mina was just walking by in time to see the last part.

"momo, no hitting. why'd you do that?" mina questioned indignant. at that point it was too much for the little one, causing her to crumble as she began wailing. "yeon make tatang cry" momo tried to explain between sobs; the caregiver looked at jeongyeon with a raised eyebrow and sighed in frustration as she asked momo about sana's whereabouts. after getting an answer she made her way looking for the younger finding her asleep with jihyo by her side "is she okay?" mina asked in a whisper "i think she is now but she cried more than enough to tire herself to sleep, i still don't know why" the shorter shared her knowledge with her friend and followed her into the living room after getting a signal to.

as she saw the three littles she took a deep breath. "both of you explain now, please" jihyo said looking as jeongyeon lowed her head staring into the ground and momo handed her what seemed to be jeongyeon's phone. as soon as her eyes made their way to the screen everything clicked and she showed her fellow caregiver.

"okay... jeongyeon, you know sana is scared of thunders and you still played that, that's not okay so i'll need you to apologize to sana once she wakes up and i'll take away your phone for the rest of the day." jihyo looked at her seriously and stern, yet softly, as she does with every little.

"momo, it's nice of you to protect sana but you can't go around taking people's things and punching them, if there's any problem you have to tell any of us, okay? so why don't you apologize to jeongyeon and make up with her, hmm?" it wasn't really a question but momo knew mina enough to be aware of that; either way, she knew mina is right so she turned to face the taller girl and mumbled "i's sowwy yeons, i no hit you an' takes yours things again" she apologized profusely.

"i'm sorry for pushing you and yelling, momoring" jeongyeon said surprising mina and jihyo who until that moment were still unaware of that happening.

still, momo threw herself into jeongyeon to hug her and slightly smiled when the other girl hugged her back.

thank you for actually having the right idea about asexuality, it bothers me to no end that people have watered down asexuality so much. i'm a sex repulsed (usually, or like... sex indifferent maybe idk) ace lesbian, and i'm sick of the ace community because it's literally full of people who cling onto this label that clearly doesn't describe them. the conversation is constantly dominated by people heavily into kink, sex, etc, and it's just hilarious these people instant they're asexual when some of them flat out talk about having sex with their partners and how they enjoy it (buddy that's sexual attraction). i hate the idea of having sex, i never want to have it, have never felt sexual attraction to anyone, and most people have no fucking clue how alienating that is. i want to find community with ace people who are also sex repulsed but the space and the conversations within it are constantly dominated by people who are the opposite basically. having a complex relationship with your sexuality is normal, even experiencing less sexual attraction then people "typically" (what does that even mean) feel is normal. it doesn't make you asexual. and if you're demi and have found that person you're sexually attracted to, congratulations because your "asexuality" no longer presents any problems for you. gray-asexuality just seems like you're off and on again with experiencing sexual attraction from what i've heard, which i mean. they literally experience sexual attraction.... that's not asexuality? like i'm confused about some of the shit people claim is ace and no one has ever given me an explanation that makes sense.

i don't like being the person who's like "you have to be oppressed to be queer" but i'm tired of the people claiming that asexuals can actually like sex or want a sexual relationship being the loudest fucking voices because buddy if you're seeking sexual relationships like this no part of you is ace and you can literally exist in relationships no problem. having issues with sex sometimes is not exclusive to asexuality either. an asexual person is someone who doesn't like or want to have sex (save for like they're curious or something and want to see if they experience attraction) and all the other shit people have said about asexuality is incredibly reductive and i'm tired of not being able to find community with anyone, but like idk it is what it is.

yeah it really sucks, i'm sorry you feel so alienated even among your own community 😔 there are lots of reasons why someone might feel like their sexuality or attraction is "different" from everyone else's, but they're all personal and subjective, and labels like "asexual" exist to communicate a very clear preference that isn't really subjective. it's borderline impossible to convince some people that, yes, wanting to have sex with someone is indeed sexual attraction. i have no idea what those people think sexual attraction is besides that. the worst part is how so many people will call you harmful and aphobic for trying to draw these boundaries around the identity, as if gatekeeping is an inherently bad and evil thing. but if there's no gate, there's no point in the fence, and then it's useless to try to separate experiences at all. and the whole point of these communities is to find people with experiences similar to yours!

My favorite song on Midnights is Question...? and my favorite, like, passage of Midnights is Question...?, Vigilante Shit, and Bejewelled. I adore every single one of those songs and I think that's the strongest stretch of three songs on the whole album. I have seen some hate for Bejewelled and some of its lyrics make me cringe but also like it's totally what I would want to play as an anthem to perk myself up.

I actually love all the songs on the album, except for Labyrinth, which I find a bit dull, tbh, but that happens! But this album just *moves* and it's full of great refrains and the usual perfect bridges and sometimes I think Jack Antonoff gets to be a bit too self-indulgent of his quirks (I really hate the effect on the bridge of Question...?) but mostly I love when Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift make music together and I appreciated that this album just felt...really fun and less earnest than evermore? I love folklore, but evermore just kind of felt like too much to me, and I'm happy to be going back to having more fun.

I've listened to Question...? the most, and I was just thinking as I was listening to it tonight that I feel like it's kind of crept in to influence my Christmasfic this year, like, its attitude full of "what if"s, and that line about "I just may like to have a conversation," like, all my characters about each other hahaha they're all longing for a conversation. Idk, the relationship in Question...? just feels so instantly complex and interesting to me, like, I want to know so much more about those two people.

Sweet Nothing is kind of a theme song for all of my characters, though, I feel like every fic I write is about a Sweet Nothing kind of love.

Mastermind is totally a Mattrick song from Swan Song. It doesn't sound like a song Matt would sing or write, but it's a song Matt would *think,* if that makes sense.

In general I really appreciated how this album was Taylor kind of accepting that you've got be a bit of a schemer to be a success, which is a theme of Swan Song, too, and so it resonated with me. I mean, Anti-Hero is also very Matt Usher: One day I'll watch as you're leaving 'cause you got tired of my scheming. I like to see Taylor owning "I'm smart and that's okay."

Okay, my favorite lyric on the whole album is: I'm the wind in our free-flowing sails and the liquor in our cocktails. ...Ugh, I just love that line.

I also love, also from Mastermind, "I'm only cryptic and Machiavellian because I care," ha, makes me laugh.

Mastermind is just so tropey, she just writes a trope song so well, that's just a full story, beginning to end, and when you're done you think, ...I've read that fic and it was GREAT, Idk. Her songs can sometimes feel like an entire ship, self-contained.

"Draw the cat eye sharp enough to kill a man," is, I think, a great opening line, even though I've seen some people hating on it. I think it's great! And I also enjoy "situation-ship" as a term in Glitch. And "no one sees you lose when you're playing solitaire" from Dear Reader.

In general I like the refrain of Karma and appreciate what she's doing there but "karma is a god" just always completely throws me, it's, like, all these metaphors of what karma is and it just feels like that one could also be personal to Taylor: her cat, her boyfriend, her beautiful weekends, her relaxing thoughts....a god. Idk, it bothers me every single time I hear it lol

Okay, so, Fall Out Boy-wise. Taylor Swift is on the record that Pete Wentz is basically her favorite lyricist of all time and that she's been influenced by him, and sometimes I feel like I can sense that influence. Sometimes she does something and I think, That's a total Pete Wentz move. And sometimes it works, but sometimes I think it just doesn't work, because actually what Pete Wentz does is incredibly hard and he makes it look like just anyone can stumble into all those perfect double and triple meanings but it's really, really hard to do. So, to be unkind, that "Get it off your chest, get it off my desk" in "Lavendar Haze" reminds me of a Pete Wentz move, to take an idiom with words in common and juxtapose them (like broken hearts and broken stallions that I just wrote about). But to me it doesn't work here, I don't get it, what are you getting off your desk, why are these two things going together? Is it that you're talking about her relationship and she doesn't want it on her desk? Idk, I just feel like the juxtaposition there doesn't really add anything. She does it again in The Great War: You drew up some good faith treaties, I drew curtains closed. I feel like that one is slightly more successful.

I also appreciate when a Taylor song picks up some Pete Wentz tropes, like in Maroon when she's like "laughing with my feet in your lap like you were my closest friend," or in "You're on Your Own, Kid," with "He's gonna notice me, it's okay, we're the best of friends," yeah, Pete Wentz also is always trying to figure out if someone is his lover or his best friend lol.

Also, "don't put me in the basement when I want the penthouse of your heart" could have been the name of one of Pete Wentz's LJ entries lolololol

And High Infidelity is such a Fall Out Boy title, Pete Wentz is kicking himself he didn't think of it first

Ironically my very least favorite lyrics on the album are from her collaboration with her other favorite lyricist of all time. I just find Snow on the Beach unbearable lyric-wise, it's just...too much? Like, trying too hard the whole way through? And then culminating in lines I absolutely hate: Your eyes are flying saucers from another planet, I'm all for you like Janet. I just cannot with those two lines. So, I've always had this great fantasy of what could come of a Pete Wentz / Taylor Swift team-up and then I heard Snow on the Beach and was like, ...Idk, never mind lol

Most people think I’m quiet and polite upon first impressions, so they tend to be surprised when I’m with my friends and Im here bullying and gaslighting the living shit out of them. I’m told that I’m a blunt person, not in the mean way, but just speaking the truth when a person is in trouble and needs to see reality kind, apparently. I’m a very sarcastic person and am definitely a bad influence. I don’t tend to talk about myself much. I’m really bad at giving compliments and don’t tend to stress much. one of my favorite details from the daredevil comics will forever be matt's white cane turning into his escrima sticks

it's about the symbolism

look, as someone who uses a walking cane i fucking love aids that are/turn into weapons. kaz and his lead lined cane hold a special place in my heart, as does the entire concept of sword canes as a whole.

with matt specifically it's, hold on let me see if i can use some of my english essay writing skill here

it's about the symbolism. it's about taking something most people view as a weakness and turning it into a strength. it's about how his main weapons as daredevil, one of the things that make people notice and perceive daredevil as a threat turns into one of the main reasons people overlook and write matt murdock off. it's about turning something mundane into something extraordinary, it's about how it ties back to his identity and how he allows himself to be perceived, how he wants people to see matt murdock, versus how he wants them to see daredevil. it's about bridging that gap via an object that is equally crucial to both identities but in different ways, as either a weapon or an aid.

i could probably go on but just understand that i am forever pissed that they dropped this detail from the tv show because it feels so important to his character, and i just think about it near constantly so just, take this

idk if this is gonna end up being coherent but

so, i understand that the pencil tip on matt's cane in the show is probably a remnant of comic artists taking shortcuts where they could when drawing it (especially given that a large portion of them draw it like a walking cane instead of as a white cane which fills me with rage, but i digress) and that two-point touch is easier to show in drawing than any standard roller tip

BUT, i also have Thoughts about matt using two-point touch

because here's the thing, i have adhd and tend to do research when i get really into something, and when i got into daredevil i ended up down a rabbit hole of instructional videos made by mostly one creator who's an instructor for the blind and visually impaired that were demonstrations of how to use a white cane, including fun facts about different tips, demonstrations of different tips in different environments and on different surfaces, so while i'm not an expert on white canes, i do have a fair bit of knowledge on them now

and one thing that i learned, is that pencil tips--and by association, two-point touch--are fairly unpopular and uncommon among the blind and visually impaired, because it tends to give a less clear image of the path and where they're walking. they're also far more liable to get stuck than other cane tips that use a more standard rolling method

so while not actually wildly outside of the norm, matt choosing to use a pencil tip and two-point touch is definitely an uncommon choice, and i just can't help but wonder if it's related to his radar sense

let me elaborate because that probably seems like a weird jump

so my preferred version of matt's radar sense will forever be that while it is mostly unconscious, it does require some effort on his part, and sometimes that's tiring, especially when he's running on Not Enough sleep because of daredevil-ing. so the added input from two-point touch helps him get a slightly clearer picture of where he's walking.

i think of pings on a radar system, or like when sonar runs into something and sends soundwaves back, mapping out the object, and how two-point touch probably helps matt do a similar thing, like an additional input for the echolocation that builds his radar.

just, idk, thinking about matt's cane as something that genuinely aids him, because despite his radar sense he is blind, and relying on radar probably gets tiring sometimes, and how his cane probably helps with that

i've probably put more thought into this than any comics writer ever has but that's the name of the game babie

PSAs for drawing canes

this is untargeted but i see these mistakes a lot in art so:

WALKING CANES also called SUPPORT CANES or WALKING STICKS are used for support while walking and standing, often best if weakness or an injury is worse on one side. you hold a walking cane in the OPPOSITE HAND of the worse leg. if your right leg is worse you use your cane in your left hand, and vice versa DR. HOUSE USES HIS CANE INCORRECTLY. walking canes should come UP TO YOUR WRIST WHEN YOU ARE STANDING WITH YOUR ARMS RELAXED AT YOUR SIDES. any taller and it becomes awkward to use for support, any shorter and you'll fuck up your back using it.

WHITE CANES also called GUIDE CANES or BLIND CANES are used by the blind and visually impaired to help them navigate. white canes should come UP TO ABOUT YOUR STERNUM WHEN HELD STRAIGHT UP. the coloring on a white cane can also tell you about the person using it, an ENTIRELY WHITE CANE means the person has no useable sight or is completely blind, a cane with a RED SECTION AT THE BOTTOM means the person has some usable sight, and a RED AND WHITE STRIPED CANE means the person is also deaf or hard of hearing. there are also different types of tips for white canes, and just a few minutes of research into the different types would not be misplaced, as they have very different uses.

WHITE WALKING CANES are used by someone who is blind or visually impaired who also needs the support of a walking cane, these LOOK LIKE WALKING CANES AND ARE MEASURED AS SUCH but are usually white and red to flag to others that the person using it is blind or visually impaired in some way.

I just feel like life is forcing me into being strong & patient always but I've been strong for so long and I get so tired. I wish I didn't get so mentally exhausted but here I am, also not able to deal with the stress of everyday life as well as I used to before. I wish I didnt always feel like I need to turn to drugs, even though I don't consider shrooms a drug in the same way as I would consider painkillers or something. I'm just always needing that next bowl of weed or that next cigarette to move on & feel better and it just sucks. I've come too far to just let my mind win and let the intrusive thoughts & overthinking take over like it has been.

life isn't always super shitty so I don't know why I have to keep making myself think it is. I just feel like I've taught myself so much patience stone cold sober after being in active addiction and it doesn't get any easier😭 & shroom trips have been one of the only things that help me get through it. I feel like a lot of the stupid thoughts I have and fight with everyday seem to go away after a good shroom trip but I never even get to feel like that anymore because shrooms haven't presented themselves to me. they're not exactly easy to grow or anything especially when I'm working a full time job that doesn't pay me enough for all the resources needed to grow them. it's impossible just about meanwhile people sell street drugs & pills like crazy, though I wouldn't even want to buy shrooms from the streets at all since they can contaminate & u can never know how they were grown. ur better off throwing some stuff together and growing them yourself or trespassing on ur local cow farmers pastures and looking for them out in nature. both options are equally difficult to make happen so I almost never get the opportunity to trip. my last 2 times I've just gotten lucky with a strong micro dose but it's just not intense enough, if that makes any sense.

this probably just sounds like bullshit to anyone unfortunate enough to ever read this garbage I write about but I'm writing this with the idea that absolutely no one cares enough to read about my thoughts so I shouldn't have to worry about anyone actually seeing this, I'm just getting stuff off my chest here. Idk what else to do so this is my go to. if shrooms can't be there for me to unload these thoughts then writing them here on my trash blog will have to work for now.

I also don't really do creative things like I used to anymore, and it's really sad. I used to paint and draw no matter what I felt like and no matter how focused I was on creating a big detailed painting or just painting small things with just lines and color not really planned out anything. just felt good creating & being creative. but now I don't have energy or drive to do it even though I want to & would really love to.

Yeah, this makes total sense. I'm with you, and I could not have said it better myself, because the whole meta/analysis thing fandom has going on is above my skillset. I will say I appreciate the show's willingness to not present things as black and white, even if what they're dealing with is unpleasant (Kirin + Ivan's history, Seth's storyline, etc.). This isn't to say I agree the writers did a good job handling everything, but it would've been easy (and unrealistic, I'd say) to write everyone shunning Seth instantly and leaving him to die. Watching the season the first time, I could understand why Raf was unwilling to ditch Seth outright, even though I didn't like Raf's decision from an outside standpoint. Raf was pretty boring, and I'm not enthralled by him, but the way his relationship with Seth was built up prior to the end of 2x04, if the writers had Raf instantly turn on Seth, it would've felt forced. And Raf does ultimately come to see Seth for who he is, in part because it's established for him that Seth has a history of lying. Seth was something of a friend for Raf, and Raf stuck by his friend at first, and anyone who wants to act like there aren't people who would do that shit irl...like I got nothing to say. Go live in the world. People do horrible things, and other people stick by them and make fucked up decisions. I have seen people I know make the same decision that Raf did, except they have never come to see what their friend is capable of. But this is fiction, and I can appreciate when fiction doesn't act like we're all amazingly moral people who make the right choice every single time. You don't have to like it, but the way a bunch of teenage boys struggled to react to their entire situation felt plausible, at least. The characters aren't perfect, and I'd much rather see them fuck up and make bad decisions that make sense given their circumstances, because their fallibility makes them feel like real people. But here, in this moment of him holding Tomura's hand, he's not calm. He's desperate. He's holding on, forcing Tomura to stay and making him stay)

The identity of Grim

So my first point is that Kagami didn't know who they were, or at least not their name. This eliminates the gang(we sorta knew it wasn't any of them, but I kept them in mind because idk what kinda shit you were gonna pull), and Luka. Obviously it's not Marinete and Adrien because dramatic irony and shit so that leaves a few people.

Namely; Ivan, Mylene, Max, Kim, Nathaniel, Rose, Marc, Mireille, and Lila.

Ima start by eliminating a few of these.

Kagami never had a chance to meet or see Lila, I doubt it's her.

I doubt Kagami wouldn't know Rose's name. With how much the rest of the game makes fun of Juleka and now much Rose would talk about Juleka, Kagami definently would have picked up the girl's name.

Similarly, I think Mylene can be eliminated in a similar fashion. Kagami hangs around Marinette in cat form a lot and, going by Marinette's character, Marinette totally would have told this cat about her little best friend's squad. Kagami also would have seen pictures of Mylene(and Rose) around Marinette's room and probably learned their names. So I think I can safely eliminate Mylene(and rose again)

Reverser happens after queens battle, so nobody except Marinette has met Marc yet, so I think he can be safely eliminated.

The Grim's saying 'spooky spooky ghost realm' makes me think it's not Max, he doesnt talk like that. Also I doubt he would get excited like that when Kagami said that they were friends.

The fact that Grim knows Luka eliminates Mireille. Mireille wouldn't know Luka, or most of the class.

So, my final list of possibilities is Ivan, Kim, and Nathaniel.

I personally cant see it being Ivan. It doesn't make any sense to me, plus it would destroy my theory of Ivan and Mylene having some magical shenanigans going on together. Ima set ivan aside since I personally dont think its him. I have no evidence to back this claim, I simply dont think it makes sense story wise.

Kim is a possibility, but I think his general vibe denies him being 'psychopomp doggo to the Eternal Graveyard'. That's just my opinion though and I have no evidence to support or deny him being Grim.

Nathaniel, out of the final 3, seems like the most likely. Man looks tired and traumatized, maybe from seeing so many dead kids. He would also totally get a little excited at a new friend because the boy's kinda lonely, especially with his bestie Alix constantly hanging out with her totally-not-werewolf-girlfriend Chloe so often. But I still think he's the Haunted so idk.

Ok so none of the final options make sense, so lets go back to the ones I eliminated.

Starting with Max, he is injured I'm the miracuclass artwork you posted and Grim was just injured. Also his personality would totally fit a graveyard psychopomp creature. However, as I said before, the speach patterns dont match up.

Mylene is a possibility because my elimination method for her was full of assumptions and guesses and could be totally wrong. But also shes a sniveling coward and I doubt she could fight an evil spirit while guiding a dead kid to a graveyard without bursting out into tears and running away and Grim seemed supremely chill with the whole dead kid thing. So lets leave Mylene alone for now.

Rose, seemingly the most obvious choice and therefore totally is not Grim. While her irises look white in the miracuclass artwork and the grape ice cream thing in the date chapter happened, I think these are both red herrings. In the new chapter Kagami says the Grim had human eyes after they undoggified(is that the word?). Implying that their eyes looked normal, no supernatural aspects about them. Also the grape ice cream thing must be a total red herring because, its Rose of course she would be distressed by cute doggies dying. Also the rebirth grape thing is probably the better clue for what Rose is, but ima not get into that right now.
